Games Workshop might be in the giddy throes of Warhammer 40,000 and its 10th Edition but Warhammer Age Of Sigmar is still getting updated. A new General's Handbook is on the way that will cover you from now through to the Summer of 2024.

The fighting moves from Gallet to Andtor and that means a new harsh land to explore in competitive play throughout the rest of this year and most of 2024. This means that this new "season" is double the length of the previous one and whilst there will still be balance updates to keep an eye on the meta, this is going to be your core resource when it comes to diving into tournaments and the like.

One of the big focal points of the new General's Handbook is on wizards and spellcasting. More power is being gifted to what were once lowly spellcasters allowing them to cast and unbind more spells. There are also some opportunities for those who don't cast magic to destroy those who do. In a realm suffused with magic, it pays to be the person holding a Nullstone.

As well as bonus content for wizards, there are also twelve new battleplans for you to dive into, the core rules and up-to-date profiles for endless spells. New command traits, core battalions, grand strategies and battle tactics can all be found within this ring-bound tome.

Regiments Of Renown

As well as the new General's Handbook and update to the rules, the new Dawnbringer Regiments Of Renown are also coming out soon as a collection of four boxed sets.

Each set comes with new plastic character miniatures for their relevant faction alongside a set of appropriate units that fight alongside them. What's interesting about these sets is that they can't fight for their particular faction BUT they can fight for their Grand Alliance. So Jerrion can fight for Death but not specifically for the Flesh-Eater Courts if you're using this particular Regiment Of Renown and their associated rules.

You can of course just break up the miniatures and use them in each of the different factions if you prefer and forgo the Allies rules. Some interesting ways to start telling new stories as the lore of Warhammer Age Of Sigmar continues to expand and bring in the Dawnbringer Crusades and this push by Order to "settle" The Mortal Realms.

Will you be keeping an eye out for these new releases?
