Warcradle Scenics has been showing off a neat set of 35mm terrain for you to use in your games of Wild West Exodus and even further afield in the realm of Malifaux! This time, they are heading down to the Black Lake Bayou.

Black Lake Bayou Set - Warcradle Scenics

Black Lake Bayou Set // Warcradle Scenics

The Black Lake Mansion was once a place of opulence and grandeur where the well-to-do would do their wining and dining. Since the Ore War, the Manor and the grounds around it have fallen into disrepair and now this is a haunted and spooky place where only the bravest dare go.

Macabre tales now tell of strange folks calling this place home. As with previous entries in the Warcradle Scenics range, this is an impressively detailed kit that would be fantastic to skirmish around. All of the different elements of the terrain come pre-coloured and you simply need to bosh it together. You've even got detailed interiors and space to have shootouts inside the buildings.

Black Lake Summer House - Warcradle Scenics

The large bundle of terrain that will be on offer soon comes with the Black Lake Manor, Boat House, Summer House and Paddle Steamer. You could place these in eerie places around a swampy board and perhaps then work on creating paths and walkways that wind their way towards them. I love the idea that if you step off the path, you could be dragged off by some eerie denizen of the Summer House!

My favourite piece from the Black Lake set is the Paddle Steamer. I think this is an awesome kit that would be perfect for a scenario-based skirmish.

Black Lake Paddle Steamer - Warcradle Scenics

Imagine knowing that there is some treasure still somewhere in the depths of that Paddle Steamer's hold. Your gang goes up against another, battling through the grounds of the Manor before a final showdown on the Steamer itself.

I also like the idea of making elements of this shift around and warp, really turning up the strange factor. Imagine if you just rearranged the board at times and moved buildings around, showing the mysterious nature of the swamp.

Are you tempted to snap up these terrain pieces in July?
