Watching it late night. Let’s start the weekend right.
Happy Weekender!
Time for some hobby news and the latest in gaming.
BTB::The winnable terrain reminds me of a scene in ‘Starship Troops’ when they get totally surrounded.
As to which British conflicts I’d like to see played out, I’d have to go with the Battle of Sandwich as it took place on my daughters birthday, (all be it she was born several hundered years later!). ??
Got to love a discussion involving Cad & Ben from the 4Ground crew, just waiting for the train derailment of the show notes 😉
I wanna see the iron industries made grungy and true grim dark underhive style epic-ness for necromunda.
Wishing you all a great weekend of hobby/gaming goodness.
What T Shirt did Gerry have to cover up?
none
hmmm I’m with torros on this, why is Gerry wearing a jacket inside…… spill ketchup on ur favourite Pearl Jam t-shirt??? such a fashionista cough, cough
you can see it on the XLBS 😉
Ah disappointing, so mundane…. maintaing the illusion that the weekender and XLBS are real time, lol ;). Cool T-shirt though
It’s the Weekend!
I’ve got quite a few RPG-lite boardgames to go adventuring through a campaign with, and I’ve been tough with myself over backing any more recently (and heck, there’s been a few including some active right now). Can Mythic and Lucky Duck persuade me?
From what I’ve seen here and in other previews it’s got some nice ideas, and the entry-point price-wise is pretty good. Looking forward to the launch.
Competition time? Although I’m struggling to think what I’d play with it in it’s 10/15mm scale, the lasercutarchitect.com “MDF 3 SKYSCRAPER CORPORATE BUILDING” is screaming out for a pre-coloured version. I’d be particularly interested to see how 4ground would approach the glass facades.
(I was going to do something silly about 4ground pre-coloured versions of their gift vouchers, but then the Metropolis range caught my eye.)
For the terrain how about some sort of self contained ad-hoc fortified two or tree story building? So a few layers with little nooks all around for gun nests or barbed wire pits? That would it could be used for all sorts of systems like 40k, Fallout, zombie apocalypse etc.
I’d be very excited to see 4Ground do the Iron Gulch line from Lasercut Architect next. Those hab blocks look spiffy!
I think as I mentioned before GB are creating a new version of Swordpoint for smaller scales
Happy Weekender!
I really like the 28MM CONTAINERS. The versatility is nice and its a nice Medium size piece.
That Lca.co.uk website has some great stuff on there!
The IronGulch stuff is outstanding! Would love to see that prepainted.
Also! Can 4ground make a ruined version of their Larger fantasy kits!!
((Perhaps a ruined version of the giant inn!! ))
That terrain is sweet, I’ve been thinking of stuff to use for Reality’s Edge and tjus would work a treat.
4Grounds usually makes real good terrain so I will have to keep an eye on this new one.
I would really like to see the Dwarf/Halfling cottage from Laser Cut Architect made pre-painted. The small-folk needs more love when it comes to pre-painted terrain!
@lloyd that wolf rider gag was a howler….
I’d be all over a table full of Iron Industries pre-painted terrain. It’s perfect for all kinds of games but I don’t have the time to paint terrain these days so I’ll happily pay more for pre-paint.
Good morning everybody…. need more coffee… still no clue on any riddles…
Wow, Time of Legends: Destinies looks amazing. I do wonder how replayability will be though. I mean if you play a character the destinies on the card will always be the same right ? Anyway, will probably get it, if not in KS then retail, price for this game is great.
Btw, always love the enthusiasm of the Mythic Games folks, AZ and Leo can talk about a log of wood and you will buy it.
I thought for a minute @warzan had shaved his head to be more like Justin….
The pre colored terrain from 4ground looks great.
I thing making the IRON GULCH Hab block and containers pre colored would be cool.
Great for skirmish games like Necromunda, Kill team and Infinity.
I’d love to see the Venice range from TTCombat coloured in – simple red roofs and white walls would be awesome!
Happy gaming it’s the weekend
Would like to see the Iron gulch has blocks given the 4ground treatment
Going to start building the warlord “Stuart” tank today…wish me luck have looked at some YouTube, internet posts that say it is a tough build……challenge accepted ?
Good morning Otters. Happy Weekeneder. Seriously do all of the Laser Cut Architects stuff they all need to pre coloured. Those sets look awesome
My suggestion, really anything from the Iron Industries line on LCA.
But particularly the refinery starter pack would be awesome.
Fits for 40k/KT, Necro, Deadzone. I’m all in!
I would like to see some high fantasy terrain for AOS. please 🙂
Infinity FTW! The Iron Gulch line looks awesome, I’d love to see that given the 4Ground treatment. Have a fantastic weekend, folks!
Might be a good idea to see some “not” Mega City One buildings appear (also would be good for Strontium Dog) 🙂
Guys, thanks for the show. The Foreground base is impressive, what I would like to see is a administrative type building that can be used as a 40K line of sight blocker for the center of a 4×8 table.
I think the Iron Gulch Hab blocks and containers would be good. Hopefully with a variety of bright poppy colours, ready for lots of weathering. They make me think of ‘The Stacks’ from Ready Player One. Would also be good for Reality’s Edge which is my next project.
Love the new Laser Cut Architect/4Ground collaborations. I would like to see a painted version of the 28mm Hab Blocks and Containers in the Iron Gulch line. Adding that to the defensive line you showed off today could make a ready made Fallout board easily. Maybe BOS or Minute Men related as well. Very cool.
I think the Merchants House from the Dragonport range looks most deserving of a colouring.
I will definitely buy Johann from Heresylab since he’s perfect as ‘The Redeemer’. I think there might be a Redemptionist gang for Necromunda in my future.
I’ve about 40 Redemptionists and 2 Redeemers, I used to use them as my fanatics for my SoB before they removed them from the list
I will most likely kitbash them from chaos cultists, Cawdor and a bunch of hooded cultist heads with gas masks I have lying around.
Happy weekender! For the Lasercut Architect question, I’d like to see the Dragonport range fleshed out and prepainted. Some real nice kits there. Also the resin powder is an interesting concept. My guess it works as a sealant and texture?
Those Ancients by Gripping Beast and the SPQR Alexander set look pretty cool.
I would like to see the hobbit cottage created as pre-painted.
That defence line is cool. My pitch would be for the Dwarven cottages. I think they’d look great in colour! https://www.lasercutarchitect.co.uk/product-page/dragonport-small-cottage-2
I’d like to see a pre painted Dwarf/Halfling Forge.
I think the Iron Gulch hab blocks would be a great building to add next!
Happy weekend all, off to prime all of the Warcry scenery.
The IRON GULCH DINER would look great in coloured mdf, but why has no one considered coloured bases and movement trays?
to take the argument further why do companies not make their outer sprue run into a construction piece for movement trays, with grass rocks etc., turn future waste into something useful.
Really like the look of the LCA Iron Industries pantries and accessories. Would be cool in pre painted
I like the hab blocks in the iron gulch set they would look great stacked up in colour.
Looking through the Laser Cut Industries, I really like the Dragonport stuff… I’ve been playing a lot of Moonstone lately, and a few pre-painted buildings (or the bridge?) from that line would look amazing on the table with some of the 4Ground Trees and a bit of other scatter terrain!
Iron gulch Hab Block
I just miss Warren’s laugh
Happy weekendenr time. Would love to se more sci fi terrain, but of the other stuff on his site i would love to see, The dwarf/halfling cottag in color ;D
I like the new warbands for underworld, and I also like the new spacemarine commanders. I fall in love with the salamanders after wathcing Emperors Text to speak device ;D
Ah da Germans, its no wonder there was mix of quality of troops, when you have bunkers stretching from french to denmark and norway, you cant have elite troops everywhere. But some more grenadiers is always nice. Still need to paint my FOW….
Macedonian caverly looks badass !
KOW 3 rat kin for the win!!!!! Looking forward too the new rules !
Love those marvel figures, the dc look good aswell. Never been a big superman fan, but there is some nice models out there. One of the other version of superman I remember is where he is saved by mexican immigrants, and he is the son of Zod.
The new game from Mythicbattle looks exciting, might need to check it out.
Loverly looking models from both kickstarters, i like the catlady ;D
I dont know enough about the british civil wars, @avernos you would have to enlighten me in a couple of weeks.
thinking the dragonport dwarf forge could be a good call for next project, looks great now, just think what 4ground could do…
Another quality start to my weekend! Thanks guys.
That’s a nice prize – I initially looked at it and thought “that looks good, but I’d hate painting those yellow and black chevrons” – then realised it comes pre-painted so it’s all good.
I think 4ground should think about selling a pre-painted version of laser cut architect ‘s Dragonport Merchant house – as it’s a lovely big building, but I’d never find the time to paint it from bare mdf.
I’m in two minds over pre-painted terrain…. good to have it painted, but the extra cost reduces the amount of terrain you can put on the table.
Happy weekend all
When i saw the prize all i could think of was the scene from starship troopers.
I think it would be good to see a range of terrain for the zulu wars. That way they could combine it with the new resin.?
I would love to see a pre-painted version of the iron gulch dinner.
Destinies sounds like an awesome game deff looking forward to see more about it on the Kickstarter.
Shaun of the Dead shout out in the first two minutes
Oh Hai Ben
It has to be the Mdf 3 Skyscraper corporate building, would be lovely to see painted also would love to use it with my titan legion and aeroautica imperialis so go for that 4ground. As alway great show funto watch and when you three are doing the weekender it is so funny and only get’s better when warren is there.
28mm IRON GULCH DINER cause you need somewhere to eat inside your fortification. The Destinies game looks really interesting not sure if i can afford it with the Teutonic Knights set coming out for Joan of arc 1.5 shortly.
nice one guys.
Happy weekend!
I like the Beastgrave terrain bits but, i’m going to get the Goblin Wolfriders for D&D for sure!
For 4Ground, i’d like them to go with the refinery starter pack, it would be awesome pre-painted!
looking good. ! My Thanks
I would love to see a colored version of stell mill ala Terminator 2.
Great show.
If I had to choose I would actually choose the Mediterranean range but since you’ve done it already I’ll go for the Russian one.
I do need an excuse to get some WWII Russians and that would be perfect.
First off I love that dwarven forge by laser cut architect so that is my vote.
Next, one must remember to gird their loins before battle.
Nice giveaway. Not familiar with 4ground stuff but I’m sure there is a chapel of some kind that could use an update in the style discussed. I’m q fan of GW. Don’t like the captain Agatone model though. He didn’t have a mouth piece thingie in the lore that I remember. Having a app for a game is not new but hopefully this Destinies one works good. Thanks for the show guys.
I would like to see the Dwarf/Halfling cottages given the colour treatment. (especially cottage “1”)
With halflings from Warlord Games and soon from Atlantic Games it would seem a potentially profitable option. Even though it looks easy to paint I am sure people would like to see it tie in colours wise with the dwarf related kits 4Ground already make.
I am most excited by the Blood and Plunder related buildings because I think they will have a lot of cross over and make it palatable to spend a few quid on it. I imagine that they will be good for Blood and Plunder, Bolt Action and Sharp Practice and maybe even SPQR at a push.
I don’t look at a lot of the industry’s business related stories online so had no idea 4Ground were experiencing financial trouble. When you hear about the shenanigans that big business go through to manipulate markets and avoid tax it does seem mad that smaller businesses just trying to do the right thing and follow the right direction can come so close to financial ruin. Good luck and I hope all goes well with the new render powders.
I like the look of the Laser Cut Architect stuff. The Dwarven buildings in the Dragonport range look nice, wouldn’t mind seeing them pre-coloured, and the Iron Gulch stuff.
Hanging out for the new Salamanders champion, I’m hoping this means their in the next wave of supplemental codex.
For the winning side of thing: I’d like to see the “28mm IRON GULCH DINER” in colour. That design could match multiple systems.
I didn’t know that Phillip based his troops off the sacred band. I only heard a few stories about them I know the sacred band were absolute legends and also, to use a phrase by a great philosopher, well gay
not alone at that time 🙂
Like in 300 when Leonidas calls the Athenians “boy lovers” because the Spartans would never* do something like that
*They did. Like alot**
**Literally all the time
Well good weekender guys… comp time do like the look of the Dragonport stuff and it would have to be the merchant house…. have a little disappointed no INN
The Dwarf/Halfing Cottages and Forge on the Lasercut Architects shop would be great with a bit of 4Ground love. Who doesn’t need a building full of little peoples planning war or lunch? And the less I say about the massive chimney, the less inappropriate this post will be.
Also I think Gerry might need to see a doctor. Something was very wrong with his eyes when the rules for a massive fisting were being outlined…
Legion of Doom???? That’s not Hawk and Animal. Fake News!
@avernos Hairless palms just means you haven’t be “counting” enough… Ah! Ah! Aaaaaah!
@lloyd I appreciate your efforts at teasing @avernos with the Baron Wars. The Scots invading Ireland sounds great – my suggestion is that Gerry makes Carrickfergus Castle for those who contribute miniatures to the project 🙂
still no
I’d definitely like to see Dragonport Merchants House precoloured by 5ground. Also would mean you’d have to do the others since you can combine them to form larger buildings
I would like to see the Metropolis series done in color, they would look amazing for stuff like Team Yankee.
The Iron Gulch HAB blocks I find the most interesting from Laser Cut Architect and I would like to see pre-coloured.
That fortification is perfect for the old Starship Troopers. Great to see Cad and Ben are in the studio. Looking forwards to the Baron’s War.
I would do pre paints on all of the Iron Industries line next. Those walkways and the landing pad are really nice.
The LCA Iron Gulch stuff appeals for Core Space and some space shanty settlement stuff. Or that Ready Player One vertical caravan park.
Time of Legends Destinies has my curiosity. I was put off Joan of Arc because of the sheer scale and time investment, but this looks like something I can take to boardgame night at the pub.
I actually like that it is more stand alone scenarios than a massive and deep campaign, I didn’t go in on Tainted Grail because I felt I’d probably never get a group committed enough to play through it. Again, this suits pick up groups at the club.
Another great Weekender and all the new stuff that is coming out. I prefer to play my mass combat games in 15mm scale
I’d to see those Metropolis buildings coloured-up by 4Ground. They would be spectacular!
sked for an idea weelll where the heck is a lighthouse asked forground last time now laser cut come on guys all I want is one nice lighthouse!!!!
Asked
The dwarf/halfling cottages in pre-paint would be cool.
That perimeter fence set looks ace!
Love 4Ground stuff. Would love to see some kind of ruined sewers and pipes that 28mm could move through..
I know it clashes somewhat with the 4Ground stables (which I also like), but I like their Dragonport stable block, simple and too the point.
I am soooooo hyped for Destinies. Think it’ll be great with the children and with friends. And more JoA universe can only be a good thing!
Great show guy
s, a day late watching it, but i got there in the end. As for the Competition, i was at a loss, but then i had a thought. Have Ben and Cad thought about doing the Alamo, i think it would make a great addition to there growing historical range. If it did happen i bet it would look really great as a centre, and with Bens way of applying his powders he would make a great job of it.We all know that Gerry had already hit KS for the Barons War, bet it was before they recorded the show. Never know that about the Scout`s going over to Ireland, and getting a right kicking of the Irish. They should of stayed in Scotland and had a go at the English, at least they would of stood a better chance of winning. Will be looking this up, as i have been thinking of collecting an Irish force and this may swing it in there favour for me.
Robert the Bruce sent his brother Edward to lead the forces, it didn’t go well.
The brothers thought they could rule a celtic nation
Hi avernos, do you have a link or two. The more i hear of this the more i`m leaning towards the Irish.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=As85yV8O0dQ
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lA6f3PrOMkc
hopefully you can see those, it’s a decent enough potted history of it.
Thank
s for the links @avernos, i`ll have a watch at the weekend.Took me until Sunday evening to watch but good show as usual, Time Of Legends Destinies looks interesting will be keeping an eye on that one.
Interesting show this week. I listened to it as a podcast for the first time since I was travelling quite a bit this weekend. I have to say, it is still primarily a “visual” broadcast and I missed not seeing what you were looking at. Though usually I’m painting while watching so…
I hadn’t heard of Last Cut Architect before today, but went and had a look at their range. If I was still playing Necromunda I’d be all about that Iron Industries range they offer.
missed the first kickstarter for joan of arc, excited for the next one starting up tomorrow!
so no warren, chad from 4ground, gerry and lloyd let loss…. this is going off the rails
on side note. would buy the iron gulch hab block and containers set if it was pre-coloured!!
The Iron gluch diner would be my first choice to get 4grounds magic. The coloured version looks so different, great upgrade. Great to see the 4ground guys back.
If I had to pick just one item from Laser Cut Architect it would have have to the Refinery (funnily enough I would start with the starter set). I always like when games have a level of verticality to them but so much terrain is either building you are supposed to climb on or boxes/crates that are always suspiciously in the middle of every warzone.
I would live to see something like gives you a nice space to play across that is on a different level from the floor.
Also didn’t 4Ground go into liquidation. Do I dare believe that them launching a new product on their Indie collaboration line means that they’re back on the feet and here to stay?
they talked about it in the Sunday XLBS, essentially they’re more or less out of the woods and here to stay *touch wood, or MDF*
Glad to hear.
another great show guys. Really excited to see ToL Destinies. I’d like to see 4Ground do the Iron Gulch set up.
Really impressed with 4Ground! I’d love to see the Iron Gulch items in pre-painted options.
App driven games look really interesting, I have the FF game LOTR middle earth and I really enjoy the app leading me through the game, it also allows a really enaging solo experience, which is great for me as I don’t get to play a lot of times, so being able to solo game means I still am happy to buy these games as I will get my value for money out of them.
They also allow for a lot of “cheap” expansions by using standard tile set, so huge replay options. So what seems like a small game has the chance to be huge.
I appreciate I’m almost certainly not alone in this, but that 4ground compound makes me glad I have some Starship Troopers Bugs hidden away in the Attic…
the IRON GULCH DINER would be great to do next
I’d love to see a neon-painted Iron Gulch buildings set from 4Ground. Great for any cyberpunk environment, from Bladerunner to Infinity, or Ready Player One, which I guess is the inspiration. Has anybody turned that into a game yet?
I’d like to see 4Ground do the Iron Gulch buildings bundle next. It would make perfect terrain for Killteam!
My god why does Mythic Games seem to be on an unstoppable drive at the moment. Every game they produce catches my attention and makes me want it. I’ve been drawn in to their kickstarters and having resisted the first time around Joan of arc is likely to catch me out with the relaunch.
MDF Corporate building – https://www.lasercutarchitect.co.uk/product-page/mdf-corporate-building
Looking cool already, adding some shining windows and concret colour will make it epic.
loved to see colored metropolis skyscraper
I’ve been going through the Joan of Arc Let’s Plays today after not really knowing anything about it, but the interview in this weekends episode got me interested. Damn it looks fun, can’t wait for those upcoming JoA vids.
Great to see the $Ground guys and loving the new stuff for FoW
