4Ground City Watchtower
Talking of prizes we have something awesome to give away. All you have to do to win this magnificent 4Ground Watchtower is answer in the comments...
What Fantasy Realm Next?
...where do you think 4Ground should go and explore with their awesome terrain building skills?
MiniWargaming Matt!
We hinted at it during the VLOG this week and he's here! MiniWargaming Matt came in to the studio to hang out and talk about setting up a Youtube channel dedicated to wargaming and the trials and tribulations that come with it.
Demigods Evolution
Last but not least we take a look at the models for Demigods Evolution that have been produced by Prodos Games under the camera.
Have a great weekend!

Morning everyone….
Mmmm…4Ground Dwarven terrain would make me happy.
Happy Weekend! I think 4Ground should do a Gothic style set like the old Ravenloft D&D. That would be cool in their style!
Morning all
Good morning fellow pastimers!
As for the next 4Ground realm… Simples… Combine their skills with trees and fantasy buildings and what do you get? Lothlorien/Wood-Elves forest town! Ambitious I know but if anyone can pull it off it’s them.
One definition of a successful Lean Startup is one that is able to go through enough iterations to find the right model before they money runs out!
… and one that stays successful is one that keeps iterating!
Goooooood Morning! I really love 4Ground.they are just quality!!
I really enjoy bow would really like to win
Good morning!
4ground should delve into the necromantic side of fantasy – twisted graveyards, gargoyles upon the roof of gothic churches and the huge necromancers tower as the centre piece! The heroes of Mordanburg needs a place to rescue the prince/princess in distress!
Nice to see a local boy over there in Ireland! Good to see Matt on the show.
4ground’s next fabled realm should be a dark elf city from either D&D or Warhammer in style (as they’re quite similar)
I’d like to see 4Ground go with a Steampunk theme in one of their realms, technology meets Mordenburg.
The 4ground stuff looks AMAZING!!! A Dwarven Hall would be great.
I would love to see some Dungeon and cavern corridors to use with my dungeon crawler games.
Brett
4ground dwarven terrain would be so very awesome!
For the next realm, how about upgrade kits for their products already available for varying styles of invading armies. So have the town kits as they are but have Orc, Undead or Chaos bits added to them for occupying enemy armies.
Just imagine that watch tower with extra orky bits nailed onto the balcony, or replacement wall sections with holes as if it it’s been hit with cannon fire.
The watchtower would be awesome for our rpg nights and for my ogres to raid in warhammer fantasy
Would love to see a 4ground Castle or ruined Castle
A watermill from 4ground would be great. For the next large building a keep or church 😀
Happy Saturday 😀
I had to scroll way too far to find someone that said that.
Happy Saturday!
Morning!
The next 4Ground fantasy cityscape should be based on Malbork Castle in Poland.
https://www.google.se/search?q=malbork+castle+poland&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAWoVChMI1oSf0f6LxgIVQhAsCh33_QuL&biw=1280&bih=740
Just imagine battling it out inside the castle grounds, inside the castle and towers and assaulting the walls of the castle.
Just some feed-back on the Weekender and Boot-Camps. Although I really do like to follow the live blogging at boot camps, I do think that the Weekender is your flagship show. I do fully appreciate that preparations for a boot-camp requires a lot of you guys, at the same time I get a bit sad when the weekender is cancelled because of a boot camp or boot-camp preparations. I imagine that its hard to do both, but I would happily watch both a Weekender and follow your live blogging during the same weekend.
You did a great show today, really enjoyed that you had Matt on the show. It would be really good to see some maybe some combined content between your two channels. And Warren, you could go on a boat to Canada 🙂 I’d like to see you in a Beat Matt Batrep
Cheers
We’d love to do everything all the time too 🙂
As we grow we’ll do our best to try and make it happen 🙂
Do an “A team” special you as BA sedated to get you there lol
Gothic-themed terrain would be awesome. A “dark” mirror of Mordenburg if you will.
Japanese shogun style buildings. I can imagine a temple or big manor house with some smaller buildings just making an incredible table to fight on
great vid as ever! I think a moore type setting would really push 4grounds designs. Like a swampy set, buildings on supports, thatched roofs bowing under the weight of moss and stuff, all rotten and grim!
Also, MWG Dave eating that apple was a firm favourite of mine in the old days of youtube.
I think we’ve already been over this ground before but for the sake of clarity…… CASTLES, CASTLES and more CASTLES please 4Ground.
4Ground should make an oriental castle with walls, shrine, gardens (complete with the beautiful trees) and shogun/samurai houses…. oh and docks, junks and warehouse.
…relax!
They already have a Shogun range
They do but expanding it would be great.
Elven style buildings would be nice to see, elegant spires and delicate details is something that 4ground could manage.
I also second dungeon corridors with add on bits like torches, treasure chests, grills and grate’s.
Perhaps something which could replace the now (sadly discontinued) terraclips buildings of malifaux.
I am loving the dungeon slash cavern idea for 4ground.
I might unsubscribe and re-subscribe on purpose.
Likewise
I would love to see 4ground do a ‘medieval’ Merchants Town with docks and ships, storehouses, tradesmen’s shops, market square with stalls and maybe slave pens and auction stand. Dirty, gritty and interspersed with the odd gambling hole or ‘pleasure’ house.
Morning
4ground should make anything dwarfish! Prefferably a town/building or castles embed in cliffs!
Cheers From Sweden.
Happy Saturday! Will I need planning permission for this kit?
Would love to see a woodland realm, Lorien style with buildings in trees.
I’d like to see some steampunk buildings from 4Ground.
i like to see run down ,grotty looking underworld style buildings for backstreet areas ….most of the buildings look shiny and centre of the city …….happy weekend
Really interesting show. As Warren said it would have been awesome to have Matt on the show longer. I’d definitely like to hear more about both the past fledgling companies. Glad he got time to relax though!
Maybe eastern building ,turkish and arbician
The next fantasy terrain from 4 ground should be a cave system that they can expand apon. Start out like a dungeon and then make dwarf terrain like the city in the mountain. Dwarfs need some nice terrain.
It’s not so much the realms I want 4 ground to explore next but more of what they are going to explore them in. I’d like to see a range of ships and boats to go with the existing ranges.
Start with a Viking longship please.
Good morning!
Enjoyed your YouTube chat. Is YouTube really only 10 years old, i am felling old already…
Well about the 4Ground… hmm there is so much i would like to see, some elf buildings, high/word/dark, and perhaps some work related buildings, like a mill, watermill, smith, stables. A graveyard mausoleum, and maybe some stone made buildings, oh and of course castles!
I’m thinking jungle/ruined temple style. Mayan pyramids and stuff like that.
4ground should make some pre-painted Infinity terrain!
Steampunk style for me with crooked metal chimneys cogs etc as this would be something new and original.
I would love to see a 4Ground fantasy castle with all the trimmings. Grand hall, Throne rooms, banquet rooms, guards towers, etc. Then have the dungeons with Oubliette, torture room, sewers, secret passages to get into the castle. It would be dam big, but owe so beautiful, lol I can dream. Best of all, Castles can nearly fit any kind of game with the right props/ terrain, fantasy, steampunk, gothic, modern or even scifi.
A dark Mordenburg sounds interesting – and would presumably be quite strait forward to produce.
I’d also like to see something with walkways – love them in skirmish games. An elf tree city would be cool. Or a run-down steampunk warehouse district with people rushing across rooftops and between buildings.
I’m not ready for 4Ground to move on from Mordanburg! I want a warehouse, toll gate, blacksmith, mansion, shops, docks, and probably a bunch of other stuff I can’t think of right now! If they are to move on, then my vote would for a fantasy-ized version of renaissance Venice.
Agreed both on expanding Mordanburg and on the deisre for a fantasy venice @redben. Would be great to have some terrain to go with Carnivale.
They should do ruins etc based on Bishops Gate up on the coast of N. Ireland. The library would be a challenge because its round but how amazing would it be to have it as a piece of terrain?
https://maettina.wordpress.com/2014/01/09/mussenden-temple-and-downhill-demesne/
Elvern Forest city, similar to the Ewok villages in return of the Jedi but on a far grander style.
Would love to see 4ground tackle Mega city one, my Judge Dredd figures need a home 🙂
Happy Saturday, would love to see a dedicated victoriana/steampunky type scenery to give those of us using the Wolsung/EotD type systems more options
Great show guys loved seeing Matt and Warren together !!
4Grounds next realm should be a swamp village, shacks on stilts and a creepy tribal feel to all the buildings.
4ground should tackle Rivendell-style elven architecture, or even one of the two towers to really show off their wizardry!
I think 4Grounds should explore Oriental-fantsy style for their next range, China, Korea, Japan Mongolia etc. Such a diverse yet distinct architectural style needs the 4ground treatment!
I would love to see an imperial city, esp if fantasy is going skirmish. City walls, traders etc
Lloyd stole my Game of Thrones idea 🙁 lol
I was going to sign up fir backstage but then warren said “chillax”. Never watching a video again after that! 😉
as for new city themes etc: (wood/dark/high) elven, dwarven, ruins, dungeon/underground, tribal, orcish are all valid
4ground elvish terrain would be awesome, something like athel Loren with lots of tree houses
Great show, good to see and hear from Matt, condolences go out to Dave and family.
I am with fhambrook, brucelea and macadams00 for 4Grounds next fantasy project, an oriental style castle or manor house which could then be used in multi-genre settings and games.
Also, a little reminder to viewers to do a little research on the life of the late Great Christopher Lee, there is much, much more to be discovered about one person’s life beyond 93 years and a few Dracula films! What he filled his 93 years with, most wouldn’t achieve in 10 lifetimes! Condolences also go out to Mr Lee’s family at this sad time.
Looking forward to ‘Happy Sunday’ show Warren et al.
I am a huge D&D fan and especially Dragonlance so I would love to see 4ground tackle The Inn of The Last Home!
That is one impressive building.
4Ground realm:
Northholm, a fantasy viking whaling station/mine.
Snowy viking style huts, longship, quay, mine entrance and mine tunnels.
The Mines of Moria! I’d love to see some dwarven themed terrain.
4Ground Orc City now that will be a nice start me think or campsite
4ground castle or walls fortress!
A nice dark weathered castle.
As far as fantasy scenery it’s time someone did justice to the whole “world tree scenery”. I am talking wood elf / avatar / Ewok “city in a tree”. That would be kind of awesome.
Great to see mini wargaming Matt!! He is such a great guy!
My take on what 4ground should do next is some sort or Wild West Exodus abandoned gold mine set. I have become a little obsessed with it and was just thinking it would be cool to have a rambling warren of tunnels, caverns, tool rooms, generator rooms etc that is being used as staging ground or lair. A mine would not be complete without a set of rail tracks for the carts!
That free trial sounds awesome!!
4Ground are getting better and better. I think they have the skills to tackle the Iron Kingdoms.
Flockin ell’ mate…
4ground should make an ewok style tree city 😉
I liked the look of the spear bent the way it was.
As for 4grojnd it’s a shame we are looking at the end of the GW LOTR franchise as I think there would of been so much scope with Middle Earth that could of added to the total make up of the game that they could of created
i think 4ground should try their hands at a rubble terrain. just down right simple but well made rubble lines that can be used as natural cover between buildings. for example between fantasy buildings that’s already broken, a line of rubble containing bits of chairs, walls and whatever was inside the building and is now a blockade that units can use for cover while advancing. and depending on what’s added to the rubble it can be used in fantasy or urban games
4Ground is gorgeous
You need to stop saying Warhammer Fantasy is going Skirmish, it is still all rumours. Fantasy is adding Skirmish according to the most recent sources
I’d love to see terrain based on Ogres. Larger buildings – blacksmith, cooking tent, butcher, tannery. Then add little hovels for gobbos and such.
I’d love to see terrain/ buildings for a frozen city.
And yes, I’ve preordered Frostgrave 😉
As for 4Ground’s next project, i think they should tackle something Oriental, can be used easily then wit Bushido and Helldorado
Great video again guys, I really enjoy the new series coming out, conquering Kings of War in particular was really good.
For 4ground, I think a modern gothic system would be good, it has obvious uses for Batman, but could also fit for Warzone, Deadzone/Warpath at a push, killteam 40K and with a bit of adaption for desolation and destruction, Dark Age, Eden and 40K itself.
The fantasy setting I’m most into at the moment is Middle Earth/Lord of the Rings. 4Ground Minas Tirith or Osgaliath themed terrain would be wonderful.
i like to see 4ground make some elven terrain. were the elves have tree city supported by huge trees and connected by walkway.
4Ground should make a “Dark Lords” Fantasy realm. so taking inspiration from Sauron’s tower, the black gate and Saruman’s tower from the lord of the rings. i think that would be really awesome!
Thanks for a really interesting discussion with Matt, was great to here you guys bouncing off of each other in telling your ‘origin stories’ as gaming entities.
As for 4ground, I’d love to see a marketplace to really add some colour to the city set-up from a central open area with lots of colour and variety in types of stall. There would be fantastic scope for modelling different products and items for sale too to add to the terrain.
Cheers guys
As for a specific new area of fantasy theme, I think I’d like to see some oriental buildings that can maybe cross-over with an elven flavour too.
wow i just thought an underwater city would be cool
I’d love to see something dark and chaotic from 4ground. My kids and I are making a fantasy table as our summer project. We’ve got a bunch of Mordanburg buildings to be the town the good guys are defending. It would be really cool to have an “evil” town to either save or destroy, depending on the story we come up with. Maybe we’re saving it from villanous oppression, maybe they’re bad to the core and need to be wiped out.
4ground should do some teutonic castles, it would fit in great with the modenburg range and really set up a way of doing an entire walled city
Nice to see Matt on the show- top chap!
Fantasy themes I’d like to see 4Ground tackle- nautical (sailing ships, docks) and siege (castles, barricades, siege towers).
Happy saturday folks
I tihnk 4Ground should make dungeons – bring your crawlers properly to life! Full rooms, corridors etc with “terrain” and furniture accessories.
Imagine Dungeon Saga or old-school WH Quest (yes I still have it and play occasionally) etc brought into 3D
I think.. Crow..Attic should be their next fantasy realm, with a darker fantasy look. The kind of village you expect to see in the shadow of a Vampire Lord’s castle.
Happy Weekend! I’d like to see 4Ground do something like an overgrown Aztek range, with jungle trees and plants mixed in with the buildings. a Pyramid with interior would be an astonishingly cool focal point big piece!
Great show guys, it’s very refreshing to see Matt as guest there. For 4Gound, I’m voting Greek or Rome style fantasy buildings..
Awesome city watch tower, easy to make it work for the new Zombicide Black Plague game 🙂
I would go with some smaller village type buildings for Elves. A bit of an outpost/rural setting which would also work nice with 4Grounds trees.
Practicality be damned, I want 4ground to make a full size Rivendell
As for the next realm, how about the sewers under the city like they have in Baldur’s Gate?
oooh, how about Paris defences from the ‘Vikings’ TV series, with siege works and walls to fight through?
ooh, oooh, how about Medieval Holy Lands, crusaders and the like?
oooh, oooh, oooh, how about forest encampment, Robin Hood style?
I’d like to see 4ground make a village. Big windmill, market places farming stables etc.
I think the watch tower is perfect for the new conan game , there is a scenario to fight up a tower ! so I think they could maybe make a few more pieces that fits in with that game .
I had a feeling Sir Christopher Lee would pass away within the next few years after watching his Youtube Christmas Message last year. And it’s sad that we lost one of the finest actors in the world.
The next thing that I’d like to see from 4GROUND is Ruined CASTLE segments. So do a bunch of pieces for a set but not one big ruined castle. They could look like their from the same castle but separate pieces. I personally think that all of the pieces should look like they’re from different castles. Maybe part of a tower, front gate, part of a throne room and so on.
I would love to see 4ground produce some non-human terrain for fantasy races. Imagine an Elven tree house kit that links together with other kits with walkways and such. Tree interiors hollowed out with sleek elven feast rooms and armouries, hidden archer nests in the foliage and the like!
I imagine something like lothlorien from the lord of the rings.
I may have said this before, but I think 4Ground could do a great sewer system to literally add another level to their terrain. I can imagine all kinds of things down there: undergroudn canals, pumping stations, hidden stashes and some dark and dangerous lairs for the local rat people (or worse).
You should take Matt up on the offer to do a battlereport or other kind of joined show. Miniwargaming is my secondary wargaming fix (especially for Infinity) when I’ve ran out of things to watch on BoW.
Also very eager to see/hear more about Demigods Rising/Evolution. I’ve pledged on the first kickstarter (due in large part to Warren’s enthusiasm), but I’m a bit shy about the second one. I’d like to hear more about what they are doing and when they plan to have everything sorted.
More fantasy buildings…Elf/Eldar like buildings, all tall smooth with a elegance that humans dream of. Since we got more human buildings then we generally know what to do with. And random huts every where.
Always interesting to hear about the making of story of a business!
For 4ground be cool to see a dark occult theme – like mausoleums, church/monastery… something for the ‘dark side’ human/elves/dwarves muahahahaha 😉
I would love to see a semi-ruined home similar to the Mordenburg range. Let’s revive Mordheim!
I would love to see a blacksmith workshop from them next
I’ve asked for it before. A 1:1 scale model of my house to play Home Raiders in.
Would love to see a necropolis, or elven city/forrest/ruins 🙂
Nice to see Matt on the show.
+1 for Warren on a boat to Canada
That tower is stunning! I would definitely like to see them do a castle range. A modular system where you could just keep adding bits of wall and tower, etc would be fantastic.
I’d love to see 4ground do some dwarven realm stuff. Brewery’s, artillery positions, great gates, forges and for warhammer a dwarven landing tower for gyrocopters and airships!
Nice episode guys
I reckon 4ground should focus their fabled realms on things like rogue hideouts or thieves dens!
I think they should make a mining village next, that would be pretty cool or a forest dwellers village
Amazing. Hope they manage to take on something like the Aztecs, Toltecs, Maya, Moche, or Teotihuacanos.
As regards Youtube – niche is why I’m here. Mainstream TV just doesn’t cater to the likes of me. I’ve heard the term “narrowcasting” used to describe the video and podcasting experience and I think it has a lot validity. The programmes that traditional TV can’t or won’t make. Does anyone remember Time Commanders? I’d watch that every week and I don’t think it will be too long before we see that sort of thing being done on Youtube.
Blushing Matt saying Flock. 😎
I love the 4Ground terrain, it works so well for many different fantasy games and unlike the GW terrain it comes pre-painted
4Ground are causing a lot of pressure on the competition and that’s good for us all. They deserve a lot of success.
Oh the next Fantasy Realms from 4Ground should be some kind of castle, I’d love to see aztec ruins a mass graveyards but c’mon every fantasy table needs some kind of castle.
Morning All I would like to see 4ground produce some Gothic style buildings complete with gargoyles, arches and spires.
There is a few places 4ground can go next, their strong suit is fantasy, which is incredible in my opinion, it would be really cool to see castles based off of real world castles on their fantasy line.
I feel they can also go down a more steampunk/ industrial line with their fantasy buildings. This would allow for campaigns that in either rpg or wargames that show progression in the world and would make the campaign feel more dynamic.
As an unabashed fan of the Byzantines I would love to see them do a fantasy version of the “Queen of Cities”, Constantinople. Or any sort of grand city. With the nicely laid out square residential buildings and large expansive markets. The center pieces could be whole boards in their own right: the imperial compound, the Hagia Sophia style temple/cathedral/etc, the Hippodrome/arena/racing pit, even the towering walls that protected the city.
Only thing I’d worry about is Byzantine architecture has a lot of domes/curved sections and columns, which is probably beyond HDF.
But just imagine a whole campaign built around it…you start at the walls and batter your way inside, then fight down the large grid like streets into the expansive open of a bazaar (stalls and merchant goods flying everywhere), all the large fights around the key buildings (having to fight into say the Hippodrome as the defenders use it as a rallying point), and finishing with an assault on the walled Imperial Palace where the defender’s best troops fight to defend their Emperor!
So guys looking through 4 grounds, in my humble opinion their new building direction should be themed around 28mm scale pirate ships with different levels for the ship able to be taken off, to better incorporate this include so models in a Tortuga or Port Royal Caribbean style of buildings, seemingly rickety but in fact very stable with different artisan styles sort of mishmashed together. Taking this one step further your could even incorporate the wreckage of a ship into some of the buildings, as imagine a bar made from a wrecked galley. Well that my humble thoughts thanks for the videos guys! Justin hats off you made me take the plunge for backstage for more Kings of War news!
Please oh please let the new player work on Linux not just pumping out on steam
Wow that 4ground tower is insane!
Ruins of the “Lost World”, not just the classic zigurat but old (lovecraftian?¿) statues, villages and some ritual weird stuff
Arborea- elven treetop city.
I have to agree with someone earlier on the 4Ground terrain. Japanese.
That would help me out with Bashido and could be used by Bolt Action and even Dust players.
http://www.4ground.co.uk/Default.aspx?page=317
Make a demi-human city on the line of an Elf city or Dwarf hold. My dwarves would love that!
I would love for a set of elven building, intervowen with huuuge tree trunks.
Or a gothic/ravenloft set.
He watch tower is amazing tough.
If I was using the City Watchtower in a wargame, I’d just use the Tower as a building. However, as someone who plays RPGs quite a lot, this is something I would consider for playing something like D&D on.
Good episode guys!
And the poop deck on a sailing ship is not named for scatological reasons.
How about a ghost town great for undead/zombies/Scooby doo/ghostbusters etc etc etc
Dwarf ruins. Underground castle system with mining tunnels linking forges, maybe a natural cavern, and so forth.
Good Morning Folks. Great show again, thank you’ll. I love 4Ground, wish there was an easy way to get them in the states. With what they could do next maybe an elven village with trees that have small houses in them, added to some home with trees built into them. Or how about a way to merge there other ranges together, there far eastern sets could use like a castle system with it. maybe even a stockade with gatehouse and towers like a moat & baily for there current systems. it would be cool to bring in there Viking stuff with what Mantic is doing with its world anything could happen. Have a grand day guys. Pepsidan 🙂
I’d like to see something more Dwarven or Abyssal Dwarven to be exact. Something more heavy and stone like with some harsh angular rune-work around for detail.
For my two cents, the next fantasy realm should be an Atlantis style sunken city.
You could have bars and house made from sunken ships, coral and various detritus. Then you get those coloured lamp tubes with water/bubbles, switch of your lights and have an evening gAming beneath the waves withe the bubble lamps giving the whole room an epic vibe.
If 4ground don’t do that, I’m making it myself and looking for a beneath the waves skirmish game!
First of all we need DUTCH WINDMILLS, or
Viking, castle scape, Victorian or maybe dungeons
A toss up between ruins & a keep.
I think a water front fantasy set would be cool
It would be great if there would be some Hellenistic terrain
Would love 4ground to do a castle with keep, inner walls and outer walls and a Barbican
I think 4ground could excel at creating an integrated forest/buildings. It could be used for elves or any other race that lives in forests. Individual buildings could be where a witch lives and makes her/his potions, etc. I’m sure they would create excellent dungeons, castles or sewers but I think the forest+buildings is something that really hasn’t been done properly.
Great show today and good to see a coming together of people who have only ever corresponded by device. Had the same experience myself at Salute this year.
For the 4ground question I would like to see them produce models inspired from R A Salvatore’s Menzoberranzan from The Dark Elf Trilogy. This would cover fantasy, dark elves, chaos and gothic all in one.
Development wise I would like to see if they are able to make more circular designs as a lot of the other comments would require it complex circular components.
If that’s a little too much I think an Aztec feel setting would be good and tie in with the Lizardmen stuff for the upcoming Warhammer release while maintaining the square build requirements.
Looking forward to XLBS tomorrow.
I’d love to see a modular castle made by 4ground – with the option to play sieges – some destroyed wallparts to defend and maybe even tunnels below them…
What about a Graeco-Roman range to fit with some of the Graeco-Roman fantasy such as Jason and the Argonauts, Hercules, etc.Thern they could also be used for Ancient Skirmish level games as well.
I would love for 4ground to do a range of building like the Elves in LOTR. Rivendel, with Arches, walkways and decorations everywhere. With the double walls and the engraving that 4ground can do, these buildings would be fantastic!
Great show, I really enjoyed the insight into the you tube channel side of things.
As to the 4ground fantasy setting How about some Game of Thrones, or LOTRs stuff. While I would like to see oriental stuff their are some other companies all ready doing that. I would personally rather see them some classical Greek, Roman or Phoenician stuff.
4Ground needs to do catacombs and tombs, sewers and seedy sidestreets, dungeons and dead-ends……. 🙂
good gorram, I am way too business minded. You guys chatting with Mat about business is super interesting to me :/
Great to listen to Matt from MWG – he is a great communicator. The Watch tower is stunning.
Would love to see 4ground do some Arabian inspired terrain. The archways etc would look really cool.
I’d like to see some dwarven realm / dungeon ruins mine working terrain……..would love to see 4ground tackle proper stonework.
then the castle walls could follow.
Great Show!. I have followed both BoW and MiniWargaming for many years now and enjoy both channels a great deal and they have helped me back into the hobby and expanded my knowledge greatly. I purchased my first 4Ground house a while back and loved it. I plan on getting more to complete my own version of Mordinburg. I would have 4ground do a village set for fantasy. They are doing the great forests now and a village set which adventurers would stumble upon would be awesome. Do a human, orc, ogre, and others with huts, pens for animals, ruined hovels ect. The other item I would love to see them do is a take on the watch tower, but I would love to see a wizards towers to battle through. Have a great week fellas and keep up the great work.
Happy Saturday
For fantasy realms I’d say wood elf style to mix in the 4 ground trees and it would be something different. Tho I guess this might be a push for laser cut mdf.
But I’d much rather they did some modern/post apocalyptic scenery next instead.
good 4ground set… how about a tree elves or Ewok village, something up in the trees.
all hail Justin master of prizes
i wouldn’t mind seeing a romanness / ancient greece type buidings
I would love some 4 Ground Warhammer fantasy like ruins.
Hopefully to play with GW:s new fantasy skirmish game 🙂
that 4ground tower is fantastic
A good afternoon Warren and Co., thanks for another good show. First as a XLBS I don’t kind if you put our membership fees up, £3 odd what is that, if it goes to £4 or £5 a month how can any body complain at what works out too £1.50 a week. Why not put it to the XLBS community and see if they agree, I can’t imagine they will complain because the money is being put in to an excellent service/show, so why not put it too a vote. So 4ground are amazing, I can see that tower being used in Malifaux. Ideas for a project by 4ground, have any of you watched documentories on the castle in Transylvania/Romania which they say was Dracula Castle, now that would make an amazing piece by 4ground.
Great show, was good to see the discussion with Mini Wargamer….. Very interesting..
As to the the next 4ground venture I definitely think a castle or at least walls and a gate house to surround the city would be a fab idea along with sewers for under the city…
So many possibilities for 4 Ground Terrain. Minas Tirith from LoTR comes to mind, but I’d really like to see more 10mm stuff for DZC; especially the alien races, Shaltari and Scrouge or more obviously military installations.
Elven architecture would be great!
4Ground should make a model of Studio One.
Looking forward to seeing the show
I would love a farm with stable and sheds… Like a fantasy La Haye Sainte…
Great show! The 4Ground terrain is amazing. I think that all those people in Mordanburg are missing their Temple/Church and Mausoleum which could segue into underground terrain.
Dwarf ruins. Underground castle system with mining tunnels linking forges, maybe a natural cavern, and so forth.
On the Demigods kickstarter, and I feel a little dumb for asking, how are the pledges working…For example, I just want the detail minis, what would be the best level to do that.
I think the next 4ground fantasy range should be oriental buildings. They are very different from the current style and could produce more open buildings or include paper screens etc.
I would love to see 4ground make a Steampunk range to use with Warmachine, especially if they’d make a Warjack factory.
gears of war town terrain would be cool
That watchtower is quite nice! It’d be cool to fight your way from top to down.
Great Show guys!
next fantasy realm- dwarven stoneholds.
Vampire Scenery like Whitby and the abbey 🙂 would be usable in a few games
brilliant show love the new figures coming out. if 4 ground haven’t got a sci-fi futuristic range that would probably sell well?
Love the show!!!
I would love to see 4ground doing something like roman empire willages from germany, france and english territories.
Orc Village or Eleven City
I’d love to see a giant fantasy arena of the gods. An arena that was scaleable for the table where you could pit individual gladiators, monstrous creatures, skirmishes, chariot races or full armies. With slave and beast pits, stands, pillars (like the Star Wars arena) and guard towers
I think they need to make a Lord’s keep with walls, stables and interior buildings for 4Ground. That tower looks awesome.
And Justin, it looks like you could use some sunscreen on top of your head.
I would like to see a lizardman style pyramid that opens up to a crypt.
Yes some fantasy northern realms for 4ground something like viking longhouses and such!!
I would like to see orc camps/villages
4ground should make more ork forts. Or huts.
Happy Saturday! Well, Sunday now, since I’ve been too busy all day to enjoy the show before now. There have been many good ideas about what 4Ground should do next, and I don’t think I have any new to add. The ideas I agree with most are are the Dwarven Holds, or the Gothic style, like buildings with gargoyles and bell towers and all that 🙂 Cathedrals and the like 😀
Great 4Ground kit, I would like to see some castles similar to ones in the Baltic regions from the Medieval period when the Teutonic Knights were crusading against the pagan tribes in the region. Lots of palisades and wooden towers.
I would love to see a bridge scene with a troll cave underneath. would be very cool and very unique
as always great show
Great show guys
For 4Ground, I’d really like to see a river or seaside town, run down, gritty, more than a little unwelcoming. If not that perhaps a forest or jungle scene and castles, castles are always fun
great show guys!
For 4Ground, i would go with a castle theme: walls, gatehouse, military barracks, military forge etc.
See you next week… yes, i need to join the backstagers for a next week!
For 4ground maybe a dark horror/gothic/Mordor style set. Mines/caverns/dungeons are always good but then you have Dwarven Forge for that.
Great show as always guys!
Great show, thanks guys. Ok I am of 2 minds on what 4ground should do next in the fantasy setting. On one hand after seeing their trees, I think a Forrest based line might be in order. The wooden fort in the woods, the log cabin, the mage cottage in the middle of nowhere, the farm house with barn, mill house on the creek or stream. those trees of theirs just scream for Sherwood forest flavored locales to fight. On the other hand, The big stone castle with all the trappings. Stone walls with walkways on them and archer towers. The gothic mage tower. The stone barracks for the troops. The castle keep where the king lives and plans for war. The moat with bridge. stone and iron portcullis. Stone ampetheater for keeping the poor entertained. The gothic stone church. The list goes on and on. Of course if one had three hands there is no denying that they would make an insanely good, dungeon/subterranean line as well. Stone corridors, and wooden doors. pit traps and secret doors that work.
I’d love to see Viking/Rohan type hall and low buildings.
4Ground should make some Steampunk Fantasy buildings. I think MDF suits well for this – they already are doing round/twisted shapes very good and adding some straight elements (machinery, pipes …) would turn out great.
4Ground should show some dwarf love!
Hmmm think that a Aztec or similar theme would be good.could also cross over to a little dwarf influence. Happy Saturday …….lol I know I posted Sunday oops
4ground could probably make Chaos versions of their range.
I think I would like to see 4 ground getting into more steampunk style terrain.
As mentioned before ….castles. Or even their own townsfolk/citizen miniature figures for Mordanburg would be nice.
How about nasty, gritty nordic feel. Frozen surroundings, bit like the north and wall from Game of Thrones.
Ruined castle, or dwarven stuff
I think it would be cool to have some “below the streets of Mordanburg” terrain. So the sewers, some nasty thief hide outs, old abandoned cells, dark magic ritual altars. 😀 I can go on for ages 😉
Great video guys, really love the shows. Keep up the good work!
I’d like them to do some Fortress, propably fitting to Mordanburg. So you could do the walls with a nice Highcity behind it and the slums and Docks up front
If we’re going to see castle stuff from 4ground, I’d like to see it done in an Indian style, like Chittorgarh Fort. Alternatively some European Iron Age stuff like hill forts, round houses, etc in 15 and 28mm would be nice
Totally saw Matt and his family in bugmans at warhammer world when I was at the Battle Brothers weekend!
Hmmm 4ground terrain of a system of city walls would be fab.
Renaissance buildings would probably be a good idea for 4ground.
4Ground just keep producing great buildings.
Like to seem them do a city similar to Minas Tirith, a walled city with tightly packed houses and shops.
I’d like to see 4ground do a heavily steam punked City/industrial zone fantasy wise. Lots of opportunities to do something different and highly detailed
Something steampunkish would be nice from 4Ground. Or maybe some dock area that could complement the existing Marienburg range. Or maybe an elven type of building range…
As next project, why not something like Angkor Wat.
awesome show guys, 4ground could do something evil and dark like Menzoberranzan capital city of the dark elves from D&D’s forgotten realms series its based in the underdark heres a link hope you like it 🙂 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Menzoberranzan
What id like to see is a sci fi spaceship of some description; the work that 4ground do is impressive. However, there needs to be some love for the sci-fi nuts out there. Personally, i’d love a rocket ship along the lines of flash gordon, but i can appreciate that’s not everyones cup of tea
4Ground should go ancient dwarven city. It would work well with the “flatness” of a MDF built and I would love to see how they try to capture the feel of an underground city.
I’d like to see 4Ground do some dark fantasy ranges. Orc/goblin camps, vampire crypts etc.
I’d love to see 4ground make 3D dungeons. Pre-coloured 3D dungeons are practically non-existent, and they’re clearly catering for the D&D types with the Stoic Arms. They could take the same tech they use for the crumbling plaster to make amazing dungeon walls.
An elven range including Rivendel and the Mines of Moria!!!
I love watching the boot camp videos, but I live for watching the weekender each week. Although, come to think about it my wallet hates the weekender and until you have a boot camp in the US near St. Louis my wallet does not hate boot camps….that is just my envy. Great show guys!
I’d like to see more simplistic hut style buildings that can be used with Northern tribes. Like the LotR Rohan style.
Also I’d love to see multi-level floors and walls for dungeon crawlers.
id really like to see what 4ground could do with an orcy still village ,I would also like to see them expand their japanesse/shogun range by adding a temples and fortress .
I know another company out there already does jungle/bush building that are great for ww2 pacific games but id like to see what 4ground could do with the seem idea
tbh even BoW asking this question is a bit strange as 4ground has most games covered with the ranges they do atm
Id like to see more post apoc stuff.
Great show as always. Perhaps 4chan could make an enchanted forest or a run down border keep.
I’d really like 4Ground to keep expanding the Mordanburg range, and the 10mm DZC range.
For something new I think a steampunk version of Mordanburg would be interesting. I’m not so interested in a cave system as I think you really can’t do that with pre-made shapes relying on right angles. I would like something with walkways and stilts though. Some sort of city built on stilts in a swamp. Or tree houses connected by walkways. Or a ‘Hobbit’ style Lake Town range of terrain. Or a ‘Hobbit’ style Goblin town range actually. Not the caves themselves, but terrain we could put on home made cave features.
An elaborate tomb system. Something Egyptian inspired.
Actually, forget that. What I’d _really_ like to see 4Ground do are some Scourge buildings at 10mm for Dropzone Commander. Either bits to convert their existing range, or entirely new alien structures. Or both!
It’s always jarred a little for me that the human reconquest is always being fought around human cities as if the Scourge occupation hasn’t been going on for decades.
Would love to see a line aimed at the Star Wars universe. Also why not modern!
I’d love to see 4ground do shanty towns or American style plantation mansions.
I would very much like to see 4Ground produce a range of Dwarven Buildings or some Norse buildings like the ones seen in Skyrim.
HAPPY 4GROUND!
4Ground should do Gothic definately.
Happy weekend guys and thanks a lot for having carried Matt in the show.
I would suggest to 4Ground to create a treehouse city 🙂
I’d love to see 4Ground offer us a bridge. Not a tiny thing, but one with shops and trolls underneath…
I’ve always loved fighting on bridges, don’t ask 🙂
Undead
Another nice setting would be some ramshackle dwelling like an Orc village or some barbaric tribes houses and walls
What Fantasy Realm Next?
…where do you think 4Ground should go and explore with their awesome terrain building skills?
I think that 4Ground is ideal for the Japanese style of castle and their paneled walls. Particularly the ninja secret passages and rooms.
I think dark twisted london streets with hints of industrial revolution steam punk good for number of games malifaux, warmachne and if done warhammer or 40k
Mega city one
Good show.
hmmm, ok well i like the idea of towers with circular stairwells I think that would work well, but I think ultimately i’d like to see some pirate terrain, inc. boats.
I’d love to see 4Ground head in to the undead direction as their next Fantasy realm, crypts, tombs barrows, graveyards, maybe even a mausoleum.
Really like the 4ground fantasy range. Would be great for stone build city theme. City walls, castle pieces, and matching ruins. Also some stone build fantasy medieval buildings to populate it, a forge, wells, etc. could do a large keep with hall, dungeons etc as the large centrepiece building. If done just right could blend in well with their current range. Would be great for a ton of games, both historic and fantasy. I am thinking about some skirmish based siege shenanigans or Frostgrave terrain.
I would like to see some form of middle eastern medieval time period terrain.
I’m a big fan of the 4 Grounds Mordanburgh series. I am using them for Mordheim and Freeboters Fate but for the latter, they look a bit too european. Hence, if they will develop a new fantasy setting, I would like to see some central american setting with mayan temples and spanish colonial buildings, that will allow for historic settings as well as for “fantasy pirate” games. Anyway their stuff looks so good that I’m sure that anything they will come up with will be great ;).
It would be great if 4Ground built City Walls with walkways along the top. These could be built in sections and rearranged as required. Could be used as sections of Castle/Fortress walls as as well -actually why not a Castle or Fortress as well? Could be useful for historical gamers too
I’m currently building the Stoic Arms for my wargaming club that we purchased at Salute.
Its a great model but it requires LOTS of time. Any further releases that could be built bit by bit – and still used (like the walls) would be great.
4Ground can do fantasy, we have seen that so how about doing the City of Macragge (about 009.M31 would be good). So many stories from the Hersey can be fought there & the terrain can be used for any other space game too. Failing that love to see some terrain for Certus Minor (Adeptus Ministorum Cemetery World) space cemetery ooh.
I want to see 4grounds do an undead/crypt based city where the undead and the mortal inhabitants live and work together like in Exalted RPG’s Abyssals live. It would be cool to see the transitions from graveyard to inn or to see castles rising out of half sunk crypts.
I want 4 ground to do more Japanese terrain personally. I love what they have done so far in the era and more would be wonderful.
If they made a Japanese Castle from MDF my wallet would take a serious beating to get that on the table.
That’s a nice tower. As many others I think dwarven terrain could work with the perpendicular modularity of mdf.
I would like some Victorian/Frontier style town buildings
Would love to see 4Ground do something in the style of the Abysals in Kings Of War. Inferno type stronghold type of thing…..
Wow that is a nice looking watch tower. If they open up another fantasy realm, I would love to see a goblin and spider themed forest. Think of the fun you can have with sacrificial pits in which the goblins keep the giant spiders at bay by feeding them intruders (or just the other annoying goblins!)
What I’d like to see from 4ground is some science-fantasy buildings.
Awesome, love 4Ground
Feudal Japanese buildings would be a great thing from 4Ground.
My vote is for some steampunk terrain from 4Ground
Castles or mines would be great to see – the latter would be useable in non-fantasy games as well.
4grounds should make a set influenced by near-east crusader-era design, properly embellished with creative license. Something that blends medieval European designs with Persian and Arabic influences, or vice-versa.
It would be cool to see what 4Ground could come up with for infinity, working with CB 😀
I’d love to see an orc kit. Human settlements are quite easy to find as several manufacturers do sell nice pieces of terrain. But there are not many examples of great orc fantasy kits around these times.
4ground could design an Elven city.
I’d like to see 4ground do Orky type of buildings for fantasy. I’d really like to see what they come up with
I didn’t know 4Ground before. Cool!
4 Ground are doing an incredible job with there buildings. I would have never thought that it is possible to get this kind of shapes and details out of MDF.
I think the list of things that I would not want 4Ground to try would be easier and quicker to type however I’d love to see their take on some sort of Elven treetop city.
well wax my legs and call me gladys, had to wait two days to get my weekly fix. the trouble with visiting family in the country and all that peace and quiet.
great show fellas nice to see Mat across, great way to recover from a long journey home would love to be the winner of the watchtower as the one at salute i must have drooled over several times its a GLORIOUS KIT DARLINGS……….all hail Justins takeover
the next 4 ground project for me it would have to be steampunk themed buildings ideal for warmachine jack workshops, outposts, research centers etc so much scope between the factions with say faction specific upgrades kits.
4 ground are the dogs do dahs just wish my bank balance was able to cope with all the goodies, i had a long chat with the guys at Salute and not only was the display epic but the guys are really passionate about the stuff and very helpful up close this stuff blows you away
Yeah that scenery is sweet.
I would like to see a Saurian type city from 4ground
what 4grounds should do next is ”Under town”, a town-like city that lays beneath the large flomboyant and awfully rich city of Auriana, this city was build by mage and is the epitomy of what a city should look like, travellers from all over the world come here to buy artifacs of misty powers, but underneath the city where the maze like sewers lays upon the dark secre city of undertown, here ratmen, mutants, castaways and mad alchemists live and a caothic and lawless town, need a dark potion go for grimnor ”Curses in a bottle”, need a mercenary or assasin get familiar with the ”Rotten cauldron”, Get your palm wirtten by the accurate and dark prophet Ankhara at ”Bad omens”. Undercity is not for the weak and the healthy the faul stench drives most of the guards away, this dark jewel is a public city that Aurianna mayor is tryin to cover as best as it can.
Whilst the idea of a Dwarven hold sounds good I’d love to see a port area for the fantasy realms.
I would be happy to see some more WWX buildings 🙂
Fantasy Realms specifically? I’d love to see a 4Ground take on modular dungeons and sewers!
If we open it up to any genre, I’d like to see 4Ground put out some modern buildings (20’s/30’s gangland, some art deco, modern skyscrapers or tenement buildings with add-on floors for extra height, and definitely some 1950’s Americana), then ruined versions for post-apocalyptic gaming.
Love the show, guys!
Great show guys. Cool to see Matt. I think a castle or fortress style piece would be an ideal choice for 4ground.
4ground – steampunk upgrade kits for M-burg kits. M-burg courthouse w gallows n stuff.
I’d like to see 4Ground do some sort of Lovecraftian line. Bizarre temples and standing stones and the like.
4Ground just seem to be getting better and better.
But should they be going into a new theme or concentrate on expanding the current ranges ?
I would go for expansion.
I’d like to see 4grounds next fantasy setting based further inland up a river from the port of Mordanburg, a seedy frontier bayou shanty town, last stop before entering the badlands and adventures unknown
I’d love to see 4ground do some stumpy loving! How about a range of dwarven structures. The straight lines and squat style should work perfectly for laser cut the main issue would be getting a realistic stone effect from prepainted wood and the burn marks from the laser, however the chimneys from mordanberg look pretty good so I’m sure they could manage it.
I would love to see 4ground do a more uptown style of buildings. More stone and bricks, less wood and plaster. If the current range is Bree, then a bit more Minas Tirith. And it would be even better if they did a ruined version of these.
I would absolutely love to see 4ground do a Halfling realm, with buildings/burrows that have large kitchens (of course), a beautiful, cozy tavern, and ofcourse a big brewery with large vats of the best ales and ciders
At last a few spare hours to catch up on weekender. Tower looks nice
Great show as ussual guys. I would love to see 4ground tackle an elven city with their terrain line.
I’m not going to try to wade through all the responses; there are many more creative people than me on here; I’m sure my suggestion is a replication of something above; but I consider the following:
1) their style is flat-pack, so flat, curved sheets aren’t feasable
2) their terrain works at its finest as a combination of war-game battle terrain and skirmish terrain
3) They want to stick with fantasy- but have the broadest range of potential customers
Elf, dwarf, orc etc. scenery would be awesome, but it has a limited niche for players within a game (though I think I saw a recommendation on page 1 for trees + elvish structures… with a winding staircase, yes please!
I think dark gothic is the way to go from a marketing perspective – use that pre-paint to bring some blacks, greys and whites to the table – they can be used for fantasy and sci-fi – make them rigid and multi-leveled – sharp, straight lines with patterned floors and walls – Cathedrals, Black Towers, Marble Altars, Stone Crypts and graveyards, A bridge spanning between two towers with interior detail – its not as original maybe as the current line; but I think it will be more salable and versatile.
I would prefer a gothic dark castle set of terrain.
4Ground should do a dwarf city/fortress terrain next.
4ground should head underground into a mine complex
4Ground idea
I watched the Conquering Kings of War videos and checked out the websites to get some inspiration.
I think the Tower looks absolutely beautiful.
I think that Mordanburg looks like a great place to fight around.
I think as a fresh angle 4Ground could forge a town that has more blacksmithing, wheelwrights, factories and watermills and water and coal powered construction works.
You could involve river terrain and bridges because it would nice to involve water mills on some of the bigger terrain.
Still show some Tudor style walls, but the walls could be grimier, the tone far darker, there could be some big chimneys and a really cool looking cogs and gears centre piece that operates a flour mill and forge from the same turn wheel.
The town / range could be called Muhleafon, Flussbaile, Afonstadt or Sruthgorod. 🙂
I’d definitely like 4 Ground to make some stone walls and castle pieces. It’d integrate with the mordenburg buildings as city walls.
I would love to see them do a Ancient Japanese or Wuxia setting!
Would love to see a subterrainian expansion for the existing buildings, how sweet would the sewers, dungeons and crypts beneath the city be, especially if you could sneak through tunnels to out flank etc.
True building it as single table would be tricky, but if you had a side subterranean table it could work, or lift off roads
Wow guys what a great show, really interesting to get a bit of an “insider” view on your industry.
For the 4Ground suggestion, I think they need to explore more “heavy” looking buildings, stone and metal, perhaps medieval big blocks of stone combined with some age of steam metal and glass. I m sure they can pull that off with their new exposed brick look that they have got down perfectly now.
I would like 4ground to do a jungle theme, like aztec or mayan ruins and such.
Would like to see undead building, Vampire castles and lich tombs.
I think they should do something that is fantasy arachnid buildings. Dark and insectoid looking buildings.
Wow, this 4Ground Watchtower looks amazing (it really does have a loo). I an glad I have not been investing in terrain much lately. Now, I can take a closer look at their range and grab some things of interest for me.
The memories of early youtube. Heh funny stuff. Miniwargaming Matt, hello 🙂
Let’s make the sewers system with maybe some underground caves for all those baddies to crawl into our fine city 😀
I would like to see 4ground make a Necropolis, city of the dead!
I’m from Canada, EH! But I’ve been to your site many times. You guys do awesome stuff! Keep up the great work! I enjoyed seeing MWG Matt and have been a member of MWG for about a year.
This is the first time I seen any of 4Ground’s terrain pieces and that tower is amazing! Great details. I went most of the replies and didn’t see what I was thinking of as a different realm or focus for 4Ground to do next…Giants! A giant town or keep, giant ruins, shrines, etc. I know it is less universally of interest but I’d love to see what 4Ground could come up with!
I wish to have this I hope they pick me it looks zoo good the scenery is amazing especialy since I’m a broke war gamer
its time for an american to win and one who needs it i play fantasy and thats it warhammer and war machine
Would be great to see more about terrain for games of X-Wing and Armada.
