Hey guys with the Nukes the point isn’t to launch them and then win. Nukes are primarily for M.A.D. (Mutually Assured Destruction) and it’s like flipping the table at the end of the game, setting the table on fire and dropping a live grenade.
You don’t launch nukes as soon as war is declared, most countries war plans involve a conventional war. If your surrender conditions aren’t accepted you can threaten to launch nukes and try to force a concession. Best case scenario you can get a peace treaty and the the way, Worst case scenario you blow up at least the entirety of the enemy’s country, Uber worst case scenario the world is destroyed.
Think of nukes like blackmail. You hold onto it and as long as you can keep hold of it and not use it, it has power. But as soon as you release those pictures to the media you lose all your control over the person being blackmailed.
The use of nukes is even more problematic when you are downwind, i.e. eastward, of the country you want to nuke because the fallout will blow back onto you.
But come to think of it _everybody_ would be downwind of the Satan 2…..
For the Battle Systems bay, they have some observation windows. I hope they add a way to sandwich acrylic sheets between a front and back to simulate glass. I’d even put decals on the acrylic to simulate a heads up display effect in the windows. Can you imagine setting this up for a TIE Fighter bay with TIEs hanging from ceiling gantries and squads of stormtroopers standing in rows as an Imperial shuttle runs finishes its landing cycle while the Lord of the Sith disembarks. Just thinking about that makes me want to double my efforts… I mean pledge.

It’s the Weekend! A weekend recovering from running around Denmark chasing Vikings in their various museums. Wish we could download a show… Would be ideal for the airport wait and flight.
Why would I need a copy of Conan – there’s a big box of that and another of Dropfleet waiting with a neighbour! Oh yes – my son wants his own copy!!

Not that I am surprised in the slightest but that 4Ground building is incredible. They continue to hold on to their “best in class” title and to have that range ready at the same time as Forgeworld are pushing their new Dwarves for the LotR Strategy Battle Game is extremely fortuitous 😀

Awwww man. I was telling myself that Siege of the Citadel was going to be my last Kickstarter but after that long feature on Mythic Battles there is no way I can pass it up when it launches next week!
I checked out the Asgardian thing. I guess I was looking for a$$ guardians and didn’t really get what I expected. But seriously, that’s quite an ambitious project. Wow. Unlikely in my lifetime.
As to the prizes, a YES PLEASE. Awesome!
I’ve been fortunate enough to play four games of Mythic Battles: Pantheon and it blew me away. Incredible gameplay, lots of replayability, great background, and gorgeous minis. I’ll be first in line to back the KS when it goes live on Tuesday 🙂

I really am incredibly excited for Conan, it’s been a long long wait for it finally to come out, but wow does it look good. They were not kidding when they said you get a lot in the box! Wow.

Mythic Battle looks incredible. Everything from minis, rules and setting seems to shape a truly unique beast. Eagerly awaiting the KS.
I hope that there might be alternative poses as a SG for troops. I dislike monopose copies of troopers, even just one alternative pose would make it better. That said, all those mightyGods and Monsters might just destroy troops as soon as they hit the tabletop so might not matter too much 😉
I wouldn’t be surprised if alt sculpts for the troops are stretch goals in the campaign. Whilst they die very easily, the god can keep bringing them back on the board, so they will see a lot of use.
Reinforcing/resurrecting troops, another very nice feature! Looking forward to KS this tuesday, despite having a dentist appointment 🙂

4ground is becoming my favorite mdf terrain company – those prepainted sets look stunning out of the box!
The quality of the minis in Mythic are fabulous! Wow, I’m not the greatest painter, but I want the game just for the minis and to give it my best shot! The dice mechanic also looks interesting. A game definitely to book into.
there is so much innuendo in the shows these days that i wont be surprised when next weekend @warzan is wearing a milkmans outfit and starts slapping Justin on the top of his wee baldie heed! benny hill style, Ben will be replaced by a buxom millers daughter ofcource.
Fantasy battle system stuff will work great with my growing Frostgrave table.
Keep up the good work with ReRoll, I know it is a lot of work, but it is excellent. I really enjoyed the strategy advice from issue 2.
You were so enthusiastic about Mythic Battles, it was setting off my anti-hype curmudgeonliness.
However; having seen some of the artwork, having seen some of the minis, having seen how you can jigger with your dice rolls (especially how you can jigger with your dice rolls), I’m very keen to see more.
I played it initially without any idea of what it was and with standees instead of minis, and was hugely impressed with the gameplay. That minis turned out to be great too was a bonus 🙂

I might have dreamed it but I think I did read something about Mythic Battle and Conan maps being compatible with each other …
They are :). Given that they can crossover in this regard, I wonder if you’all be able to crossover any of the minis as well?
looks like the unpainted plastic spartan has actually been painted in shades of grey to bring out the details. If so that is more than a bit deceptive. I’ve got the Conan KS, including the Mythic battles mini that came with it, and whilst the quality isnt bad (and im more than happy with it) its no where near what the ‘unpainted’ mini shown off in this weekend would suggest
I’ve played two games with the same pre-production minis as in the video (not literally the same but from the same pre-production run) and I think the video is a fair reflection of their quality.
so they come in the box prepainted in shades of grey? Im not doubting the minis arent of good quality, but to class them as unpainted when they clearly have been is more than a bit disingenuous
The other unpainted minis used throughout the video have paint on them to bring out the details, but as you were talking specifically about the Spartan, then that looks exactly like the unpainted plastic Spartans I was using. There’s no difference. It’s a fair reflection of the quality because it looks exactly like it.
If I recall correctly, when the first posted pics of the new Conan minis on the kickstarter page, there was an uproar because the minis looked so washed out on camera, and people thought the minis looked too soft. They took new pics and I think they touched them up then so show off the detail in stills more. Again, based off of memory.
the conan minis had a wash over them, which helps show the details. this have several layers of shading and highlighting. im likely to back the KS and I thibk the models look good, but classing them as unpainted is deceptive and will more than likely leqve some people disapoonted with the final results. As an aside, I have an issue with cg painted renders being passed off as minis too

Whoever wins that Conan box is in for a treat. I received my KS reward yesterday and it’s lovely. I’ve been eyeing the Battlesystem terrain for a while, but I wonder how much of a pain it would be to set-up and take down. It does look fabulous, though!

I am due to get Conan on Monday (DPD willing) and I only backed that because of you guys! Really looking forward to seeing the quality and trying it out… then… maybe I will look at Mystic Battles.

Mythic Battles Pantheon, my Christmas Kisckstarter.
Looks very fun and fits my gaming group nicely.
I was not going to get into any additional kickstarters, and then I saw your discussion of Mythic Battles: Pantheon — and I am so in even if I have check under the sofa for extra coins. That looks to be a fabulous game and I love the idea of the trade mechanics.
One more thing, since everything you need will be in one box, you can quickly play with two to four players and get started immediately and not have to wait for friends to go out and get their own army.
Man, am I hooked now. Just visited the Facebook and website and on the edge of anticipation. Will be back tomorrow to see the demo game as well.

The Mythic Battles does look intriguing and I am pleased to see that the minis will not be in resin.
Mythic battles really shows how high the quality of miniatures is these days. Release after release from multiple companies leave me in awe as to how good the final products are.
I’ll be keeping my eyes open for mythic and hoping it can win over my hard earned pennies. Team yankee is taking everything at the moment.
Talking about sheer attention to detail in the Pantheon figs, aside from the flow of the cape and the detail in his armor.
Look at the careful fraying in the hem of cape. That slight bit of damage from dragging on the ground. An amazing thoughtfulness in taking the time to disrupt that smooth edge line during sculpting without overdoing it. Wow!

think i may have to invest in mythic battles, crossovers with conan and being brought up on clash of the titans and jason and the argonauts and seeing the art and minis i think has sealed it for me. my wallet is done for..

I’m actually really pleased you guys got an update on the MLP game! My daughter is 4 and is a massive fan. We’ve been trawling the internet for the last few months trying to get more info on it.
All I want now is a release date! I’m very excited for it, as she always watched my friends and I play DnD and various other RPG’s and tabletop wargames. Im hoping this is simple enough for her to get, but just having it set in a universe she is familiar with will help a lot!

Wow that Mythic Battle Game Looks better than i first tought , my only proble right now is the fact that in Autumn there is a lot of great Kikstarterand i would not be abble to pledge in them all so i will have to make a choice …. HAAAarrrrggg it’s tough and for sure i don’t want to miss the next Flying Frog kikstarter about the Japan Shadows of brimstone game that will come the 31st , there is the Battle system that i am on since their first kikstarter , also that great looking Deep Madness games with a ton’s of extra ……. wouuuu witch one to chose , i really started to think that i will have to sell a lot of stuff to get all of them and maybe will have to face a divorced… hummmm ok i am starting to get my inventory of games that i am not playing enough or like enough compare to those i want … haaaaa guy’s you cost me way mutch more than a coffe per month 😉

I appreciate the ideas from Battlesystems about storing buildings in DVD cases. I have been looking for ways to reduce the storage space my terrain takes up so that’s how I first got interested in Battlesystems. The brewery look great Wow the god figures look brill in mythic battles and the monsters even in people don’t play the game they will be getting some of them as they are so good. The river horse games are looking fab.

Great show guys. I just headed back to the Conan website and it seems the new rule book will be out end of November. I will have my first game then. Looking forward to it.
Pantheon looks great too, but I will have to see how much money is left in the kitty by the end of next month.
Also, I have backed the Hunt for Red October, but it really does not seem to do that great on Indigogo. I wonder, if KS would not have been more successfull, even if they but the price up a bit.

Wow, those miniatures for Mythic battles are fabulous!!!
I have to say that Mythic Battles looks totally amazing but as Monolith are writing the rules I worry for it as Monolith wrote and produced Conan and even after two years,two rules revisions, help for FFG they still couldnt decently translate it from French, in which the rules are good, to English, in which the rules are bad, which Monolith admits and is replacing. I am sure many lessons have been learnt
The good news then, @panzerkaput , is that Monolith aren’t doing the rules :). The game is a collaberation between Mythic Games and Monolith, and Mythic Games are handling the game design. I believe FFG have also been involved in producing the English language version of the rulebook.
So nice to see an update on Tails of Equestria. I know several people that are chomping at the bit to play MLP. Oh well another system to learn how to GM. Really excited that this week is the Battle System Dungeon set. Good luck everybody.

I am wondering if I can Batman or Steampunk up that dungeon set. Could be fun to do Battle with The League of Shadows in Ras’ fortress or send some Neverborn beasties scurrying through Malifaux’s underbelly.
I’m sold on the Sci-Fi Battle Systems Kickstarter, just need to look at it again after my Walking Dead Bootcamp adventure and see if the overtime stretches as far as I hoped. The compact storage after play, the design and the apparent quality and easy assembly have hooked me. I think it will be a perfect accompaniment to Star Saga.
What would be the perfect game system to play with the Fantasy Dungeon Battle Systems set?
The Mythic Battles: Pantheon interview was great. The art work is amazing. I have seen some miniature sculpts that don’t sadly translate to great miniatures, but that is far from being the case with Mythic Battles. I don’t remember a time recently when the miniatures met the quality of the art so well.
Wow, the Gorazin’s Brewery looks really cool. The 4Ground Dwarven range goes from strength to strength. I just need to be careful what I buy these days because space to store terrain is at a premium (and obviously money is always a factor). I’m already lying to myself as I type, saying that Dwarven buildings are dwarf sized by nature and smaller to store. This is how money gets spent. lol.
I looked at the Conan Kickstarter page and really love the play mats. The pirate ship deck looks so good. I loved the movies even though they might not really be considered high quality cinema compared to the effects and quality we get treated to now. I never read the comics or roleplayed as Conan, but I have always loved Barbarians since Hero Quest and these latest minis look amazing. The cell-shade on these minis that Warren has promised recently (via John) will be really interesting.

Just wow – think I’ll need to set some coin aside from mythic battles – the paint jobs on those models were just gorgeous, can’t wait to see what the community can do with them once they are available.

Got a friend who was blown away with the Pantheon Game…and now I’ll go and watch the game video. I dont think Ive ever seen you guys soooo thrilled and genuine exited abaut a tabletop game…from mechanics to miniatures and all…What a joy to see!

I´ve played Conan yesterday, it is so much fun. Mythic Battles: Pantheon is looking also great… Can´t wait for the KS.
I have a slab of balsa wood from an old project, some styrofoam contruction blocks, and some receipt paper cores. I may build a pier that might be used on a sci-fi great lakes style port.
I played a demo game at Spiel in Germany – it was awesome and I’m 100% sure I will back the hell out of that Kickstarter 🙂 THE MINIATURES! Oh my GOD!
Well I was trying to scale back on the kickstarters for a few months but I think I’ll have to jump on Mythic Battles now damn you guys 😉
I’m a great fan of the 4ground buildings, but this dwarven one looks a little plain to me. The details (fire places, brewing stuff) is just awesome. So I guess with a little work (Model Mates etc.) you can create something really nice.
Mythic Battles looks interesting.

Great show guys! How excited am I about Mythic Battles? Every so often a game shows up which hits a unique genre and is executed brilliantly, this appears to be one of those games. I was hooked when I heard “Greek mythology”, I can’t wait for the Kickstarter to start as I have a feeling that it will be one hell of an experience just following this one along, let alone pledging!!!
Conan is great. Recommend it highly.
And, Mythic Battles can have my cash whenever – along with another Shadows of Brimstone Kickstarter which also begins next week. Christmas is coming early…

Oh no! Just when I thought we were finally done with stroking oblong shaped objects.
Luckily there is Mythic Battles to distract us. Those models look amazing. And the dice mechanic is very interesting indeed. And then the 2nd release of Kingdom Death. There are just too many amazing miniatures being produced at the moment. I just don’t know what to jump into anymore.
By the way, guessing from the artwork; How humongous will that Scylla model be?!

Kingdom Death: Monster is great!
I have to say BOW always give away great prizes, but lately I have been really chomping at the bit to do a happy dance and win one of these fantastic ones the last couple weeks. I will gladly take a Conan or battle system to my gaming group!!! Thanks for the chance.

With that many minis to paint I may never get to the bottom of the lead pile. Hey, maybe I should ‘cell shade’ the lead pile so I only have to paint the Conan minis.
I have a policy of only backing one Kickstarter at once so Mythic Battles timing is impeccable. Might have to rethink my policy if I only end up backing one Monolith Kickstarter after another, regardless of how awesome they are.

Mythic Battles looks really good.
Having ploughed through all here I have to say that just about everything I could say has already been said, I like the idea that the Conan game is as substantial as it is and the models look amazing to boot. I never back kickstarers but am always glad when the ones I am interested in become funded.
I have already placed “pantheon” on my get at all cost lists. Epic a really great look to it.
As for scenery you can never have enough and the dungeons would fit so well with a couple of our own made games with self made rules. We will send you a couple of sets to see what you think of our steampunk game you have plenty of models to fit the requirements.
Oh my god(s), Mythic Battles looks incredible! I’ve loved Greek mythology since I was a kid, so I think I may have to check it out…
I’ve also got to give kudos to the artists and miniature painters involved in the project. The standard of work is absolutely breathtaking.
Mythic Battles: Pantheon has some super beautiful miniatures. The problem at the moment is that there are so many great games/miniatures/terain available or on Kickstarter that one has to make difficult choices about what to back/buy. Unless one is uber-rich there are going to be games/minis/terrain that one would love to have but simply cannot afford to get at the moment. This is a greater problem with Kickstarter as one then has to wait for the retail version and is unable to back at a time that would help launch the project – something I like to be able to do. I suppose this is life for most, if not all, of us.

Great show as always!! Loved the Brewery It is added to my wishlist for Foreground. My list keeps getting bigger and bigger. Now Mythic Battles just blew me away. The mini’s are just gorgeous and I was so excited to Athena and Medusa I want to play them both. I was sold on the campaign version to allow for RPG play. Looking forward to seeing how the game plays.

I don’t know if we should call Mythic Battels a fantasy, or historic game. The use of the Greek mythology and creating a game of this nature is just amazing. The art work looks superb and the miniatures look like some of the finest I have seen in a long time. I just love the different sizes in the miniatures and it really makes the gods and monsters stand out. All I can say is wow, wow, wow, I think I will jumping on this Kickstarter for sure.
I thought nukes had a limited blast radius – too big and the vertical upward blast popped holes in the atmosphere 🙂

Bit late, but first chance I’ve had to watch this episode.
On the nuke: maybe its intended as a Khan “From Hells Heart I Stab at Thee” weapon; basically a taking you with us weapon to spite the rest of the world.
On Asgardia: didn’t know it was a tax haven, might have to consider moving my bank account there once my application goes through ;p
On BattleSystems: dunno why, but they leave me a bit cold. They do look impressive generally, but there’s something off about them to me. If I had to hazard a guess why, I think I’d have to say it’s down to the limitations of flat pack/card stock terrain leaving it looking a bit flat. Now that’s not to knock the work BS put into their sets, just that for whatever reason they don’t draw me in enough to pledge on their kickstarters.
It’s also good to hear that the kickstarter community is pleasant and positive; I remember back when their Dungeon kickstarter was running, over on the Dungeon Saga kickstarter there were a couple of BS fans who were a touch rabid/touchy in the DS comments and who couldn’t accept that not everyone who’d pledged for DS was interested in BS. Good to know they were just a few bad apples and not representative of the BS fans as a whole 🙂
On Mythic Battles: looks epic, hopefully after it’s released there’ll be a way to purchase individual minis separately as I’m sure the monsters could be useful for any number of systems.
Mythic Battles and Blood Bowl will be my go to board games from now on.

I really like the draft systems or Mythic Battles It relives me of the common factn envy when you get into a new game, can’t afford all of the factions, but the rules don’t allow for cherry picking.

I missed the Conan game on Kickstarter, but will be asking my local gaming store to order me a copy when the retail version is available.
On the weekend I watched an old episode of The Weekender where the Beasts interviewed Jaime from Monolith and talked about the Conan game.
I loved Warren’s comment to Jaime about whether they had designed the kindergarten map for Conan (Arnie in Kindergarten Cop). Imagine with the kindergarten map we could have Conan the Librarian, with his battle cry of ‘It’s not a tumor!” 🙂
Seriously though, I would love to build two model ships and play the ship battle scenario with two model ships. It would be epic.
Mythic Battles looks amazing. I definitely won’t be missing that one on Kickstarter. The minis look amazing, and being a huge Greek Mythology fan, it is something that I really look forward to playing.
I love how the dice have been designed to look like ancient stone dice.
I am already thinking of different mini scenarios that could be created for Mythic Battles that play out classic stories from Greek Mythology or movies.
Imagine playing the battle between Perseus and Medusa from “Clash of the Titans” – the original movie I am referring to, not the re-made.
Another idea is a battle between Theseus and the Minotaur. My idea is creating a series of small mini board tiles that could be laid out to create the Minotaur’s maze. Theseus and a group of prisoners could start at one end and the Minotaur in the center. To reflect the fact that the Minotaur would not get lost in the maze, the Minotaur player each turn could rotate a select number of tiles to change the maze layout to his advantage. This would reflect the fact that the player controlling Theseus and the prisoners would not know the layout of the maze and would get lost. The Minotaur player’s goal is to kill Theseus. The Minotaur might get stronger or gain some bonus each time it kills a prisoner controlled by the Theseus player, until it reaches Theseus for the final battle. The player controlling Theseus would be trying to reach the Minotaur and kill it before it kills the rest of the prisoners and becomes too strong.
I don’t think that Theseus is one of the characters in Mythic Battles, but using the stats and mini of one of the other characters would work I am sure.
I’ve no idea whether there are any plans to have a Theseus mini, but I do know there’s a lot planned for stretch goals and expansions so he could be in there.

I had a demo of frostgrave at Fiasco Wargaming convention in Leeds, this weekend . Picked up the rule book but now I need the battle systems fantasy set. I resisted the fantasy set when it was on KS. Thinking that I don’t play any fantasy games, I justified it to myself. I was clearly wrong to think such a thing and will be sure to back any future BS Kickstarters.
Hold on! Didn’t I just vow to avoid KS? See how week all this stuff makes me. I have the breaking strain of a kit Kat!
I played Mythic Battles on a prototype 1 year ago and I love it. A very good confrontation game. I’m very curious of the scenario-based addition they came up with.

Everything about the Conan game is cool…
great weekender; it’s nice to start the week with a fresh cup of coffee and catch up on the weekender. “Fluffy” the Cerberus is almost too cute. lol. The dice mechanics for Pantheon seem a bit kludgy at first but I like where it’s going… will be curious to see how the KS plays out.
It’s very quick and simple. The main things it does is mitigate against bad dice rolls, but it also often lets you decide between spending the dice to get a small amount of guaranteed damage, or getting a lot of re-rolls to try for more damage but risking less.
Lookling forward to the Kingdom Death stuff 🙂 Love the fact that EVERYGAME does seem to tell a different story

Friend of mine, Multifish on BOW, backed the Conan KS and brought it round for a game last week. Have to say the finished product, components and overall quality some of the best I’ve seen. I had backed Dungeon Saga and thought it too similar but couldn’t have been more wrong. Great quality all round and fun mechanics to. If your a fan of Conan or not you will love it.

I have been looking for Mythic Pantheon since Gencon. I really like what I am seeing in the gameplay. Probably will not be an every day game for me but when you want to get epic this will certainly be on the top of the list.

Not overly Impressed with the dice mechanic of Mythic Battles: Pantheon. Seems more clumsy than elegant. The minis look good tho,for the most part. The Monster much moreso than the humans. I guess it’d gonna be all about price point for me. Not sure it’s gonna live up to the BoW hype…
Just got done with Star Saga & Vampire Hunters. Diemension Games *Deep Madness* KS [https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/diemensiongames/deep-madness[ is incredible & still 10+ days to go. Shadows Of Brimstone: Forbidden Fortress starts on the hour. So MB:P has *some ‘splaining to do* to get me. I want to like it, but so many KS, so lil time [let alone $$$].

The mechanic is very quick and easy. Obviously Justin and Warren were having to explain what they were doing with the dice each time so we could follow along, but that isn’t the case usually and the whole thing moves a lot quicker. The main thing the dice mechanic does is give options between taking low amount of guaranteed damage, and going for higher amounts but risking failing.
Not saying it doesn’t/can’t/won’t work well. Just not impressed. & I’ve seen the playthrough on here & the ones MB:P has posted on their site. So it’s not a factor of just the guys explaining it while they’re learning it. & yet, even after a couple vids, I still wouldn’t know how to teach it to my gaming group. [Sans showing them a vid or two.]
& for the record, I’m a war/boardgamer of *Veteran* status. 3+ decades & scores of gaming systems along the way. & my gaming group of 10+ all have at least 10 years & dozens of gaming systems under their belts, So it’s not a case of being an inexperienced gamer who’d be teaching inexperienced gamers,.
We could get used to it, I’m sure. But it’s definitely not a *+* for me at this point. That’s where I’m at.

When I played I found it was a lot more complicated to have explained to me than to actual do when the game started. Once we’d done it once it was very quick and simple and turned it from a straight dice roll into something which was given us tactical choices to make.
Yeah, that’s my point. I probably can get used to it, no doubt. But explaining it to my group, sans showing them a vid or two? To me, not being able to easily teach/explain such a core mechanic of the game isn’t a selling point, no matter how innovative, cool, *Awesomeness!* the mechanic is,

I sadly missed the kickstarter for Conan and I have to say that the board looks incredible. But with Mythic battles coming around the corner I’ll definitly look into getting that.

With the long halloween weekend I’m preparing zombizide black plague for a first trial run of your cel-shading techique. However I may well go and try out the effect of using coloured washes. Which will slightly defeat the goal of speed painting but might end up with coloured figures with basic highlights.
Have seen the mythic battles and Conan at the Spiel 2016 in Essen, Germany. really liked the minis – couldn’t find the time to playtest it though.

Conan was an excellent miniatures game at GenCon 2016.
I haven’t seen any Conan minis yet in real life, but I’ve heard lots of good about them.
An Arnie version of Conan would be a nice touch (movie references is my weakness)

Those figures look really nice. I really like the take on the hydra. I don’t believe that I’ve ever seen it designed quite that way before.
Plastics look good for Mythic Battles so I don’t see why they need to do a resin line as well. Seems expensive to do both with minimal return.
Love the mythic battle stuff but I would only want it voor the mini’s. The game system itself does not really do it for me from what I have seen.

Concerning dwarves,
back in my days in school I had to write some semi-scientific article about ancient Norse mythology. Back then I read how the whole dwarf stuff came into the mytholog. At least how this source meant it happened. It’S a pity I don’T know who wrote it. In essence it said dwarves always had been a part of norse myths, but when miners came from the south, greece and rome, seeking fortunes in the rich mountains of scandinavia the norse didn’t know what to make of them or where they came from. Now, Italians were as small back then as they are today, even smaller 😉 the norse on the other side were pretty big for their time. So the conclusion the norse came to was that these funny speaking small people had to be dwarves that came to mine the wealth of their mountains. That basically is, how the author meant the “dwarves are small” thing entered the folklore. I think in the Edda dwarves are never actually described as being small.
With this in mind I think the connection between dwarves and ale is not very hard to make 😉 It also explains why there are no dwarf women, because they propably would have stayed in the warm and cosy south. -and as we all know men without women don’t shave => dwarfen-beards. You see, it all adds up. 😉

Re: Mythic Battles, I really like the miniatures but they are going to be a challenge to paint.
Just saw your Demo of Mythic Battles Pantheon and I immediately went over to kickstarter to back it. The Game Warren and Justin played was totally awesome!
