Happy weekend
happy saturday, coffe, last nights kebab and a weekender what more do i need?
Happy weekend indeed.
Happy Weekend and yass genestealer cult 😀
Weekend’s here.
Ben needs a black background like Holly!
or a rotating box like max headroom.
I’ll get on it 😉
Great show! Glad y’all are back.
It’s the weekend!! The weekender after the “lost weekend-er”. Let’s see what’s been happening.
So let’s see:
Nick Park – multi award winning animator of W&G, plus Chicken Run (voiced by Mel Gibson). Wrong Trousers featured criminal penguin that dressed up as a chicken (!?!)
Vs
Wes Anderson ditected “Fantastic Mr Fox” film based on Roald Dahl book (voiced by George Clooney)
Wtf has this got to do with anything?
Mel Gibson of course rose to fame in original Mad Max movies while George Clooney ummm… is ummm… In some other film loosely related to one of the topics!
lol
With board games like “Mansions of Madness 2nd Ed” bringing in app driven games then I can see the emergence of micro-transactions, unlocking new scenarios etc. That may be preferable in some cases to buying physical expansion sets.
Mantic has a Kickstarter, I’m shocked! But I’m sure it will be fine. I mean it’s not like they’re just going to take one of their other products and just slap it into space right? And not right after Corvus Belli announced at Gen Con that they might be looking into doing a dungeon crawler set in their futuristic world of Infinity right? I mean it’s not like Mantic would ever just take the basics of someone else’s ideas and simply cookie cutter themselves their own cheaper knockoff right?
If its any consolation over a breakfast (ulster fry) in 2010 i was pointing out to Ronnie in great detail the virtue of dungeon crawlers (sci fi and fantasy) as gateways into more fully fledged worlds. We have since discussed it alot over the years.
This might have more to do with warpath and where its development cycle lies than anything else 🙂
Being American I’m not sure what an “ulster fry” is but I hope it was good. As far as Mantic goes if that idea had been mentioned by the company then I might have thought it a little more forward thinking, and while I may not think timing is always everything, it would lend credibility to a more original direction. I guess my attitude stems from the start of Mantic when they were just making cheap knockoff elves and such for Warhammer. I always felt that whatever someone thought of Chapter House, at least they came up with new things that GW hadn’t bothered to make models for. There were plenty of elf archers and spearmen on offer from GW at the time. Combined with the fact that this “new” idea is brought to use via yet another Kickstarter. From a company that, despite the number of Kickstarters it has had, still can’t get one right and gets bad feedback for poor quality bits, missing bits, last minute changes that alter the pledge contents ex, that this is not entirely a welcome idea to me. I guess I just find myself being more protective of the gaming community than I do possibly offending a few manufacturers. PS. please explain an ulster fry.
What about Project Pandora?
It comes across as a Space Hulk variant And the giant rats have been seen somewhere before……..Hmmm.
I mean what about giant “anything that hasn’t already been done by someone else”. Or what about small versions of bigger things. Like bipedal elephants that are only man-sized. Give them opposable thumbs and I would look at those minis. “Microphants” with laser weapons! They could control things while their trunks worked the interactive HUD’s! Better call my trademark office. I would hate for someone to “borrow” my idea.
An Ulster fry is a little taste of eternal bliss when one has a hangover!
So as long as it’s fried it could be almost anything? And I assume you mean the European “fry” like saying your having a bit of a fry up or something. Not the American “fry” as in dipped in batter and lowered into boiling oil to crisp the hell out of it.
Had a few Ulster Fry breaskfasts and dinners (one with @warzan) atythe Team Yankee bootcamp. Definitely tasty, although my bowels disagreed me a little afterwards. By “delicate” South Florida system just not used to it I guess. Then again, if I can handle Cuban food . . .
I think “cheap knock off” is a little harsh. “Cheap alternative” better. Knock Off sort implies some kind of counterfeit/copy; Mantic were trying to make cheaper models you could use as proxies.
They do a lot of kickstarters and they get a lot of backers. Every single kickstarter, certainly in the gaming sector, has had customers who had missing or broken pieces or worse, missing deliveries. I’m not sure what is considered a normal success rate for pledge deliveries across gaming kickstarters (i.e. people who received their pledges without any issue) but even if the success rate is 90% (and I suspect it’s higher), Dungeon Saga alone would have generated no less than 550 angry voices (10% of 5500 backers) on Facebook all moaning about how shit Mantic are at delivering. 550 voices make a lot of noise, it’s easy to see why people might think Mantic aren’t very good at delivering however if 550 people got their orders wrong, 4950 didn’t get their wrong (myself included and I backed Dungeon Saga right up to the hilt). I think Mantic are probably a lot better at delivering pledges than they are given credit for because there’s so very little positive feedback. I certainly didn’t post on Mantic’s Facebook page or blog about receiving my pledge and even if I had I wouldn’t have gone on every day to mention it – which is what people who have a problem tend to do.
As for them changing pledge contents at the last minute, the only kickstarter I have backed where my specific pledge was changed is Dungeon Saga but I didn’t not get something originally advertised, my pledge was re-structured and I ended up getting slightly more.
I also have to question what is this “new idea” of which you speak? When did you last see a game released that was entirely original and unlike anything that had come before? I think for me it was probably some time in the late ’80s or early ’90s.
Ulsterfry a local delicacy of Northern Ireland. Shares some similarity with the traditional full English breakfast. One key difference being that Soda bread is added.
I’m sure there is room for the two of them. I need the whynotboth.gif
Funny Lloyd mentioned he likes being a loser at tournaments. I agree wholeheartedly with the sentiment. When you know ahead of time that you will mostly be losing, the pressure is off and you can relax and enjoy it. You can also learn a lot more and ask questions. If you are going in hypercompetitive, folks are less likely to be chatty and friendly. Great show lads!
Good Point.
This is certainly something that has come out of me playing plenty of card games at tournaments.
I know I’m not going to win and can avoid all the terribly boring decks and play against people who have done something a bit different and still enjoy it in a tournament setting.
Doesn’t mean I don’t like winning however and I have felt the heady highs of being in third place before…but it was a stressful experience!
The one thing that kept me away from Dungeon Saga was the dice matching mechanic for combat. Any word if Star Saga will use the same mechanic? Or will it be something else? I’d love to be able to use my Deadzone minis for the game.
Oh how I love getting my minions washed.
Great show, so cool to see some info about Star Saga.
I do have a slight criticism/critique though, but I will preface by saying this that we are all gamers, and we all get excited over shinies, but when conducting an interview please give the guy more of a chance to speak? Justin seems to spent a lot of time interjecting and projecting his own thoughts rather than giving the chap a chance to give us the info we are looking for, it makes watching the interview a bit jarring.
He does that all the time. If only I loved the sound of his voice as much as he does, it might make his interviews more even-keeled.
You should have booked to come over to the Walking dead Bootcamp …
You would have got first hand experience of the Ulster fry (you would love it)
You could spend some time with Justin to see just how wrong you have got the guy
You could spend time with Ronnie Renton and put to him all the stuff that’s bugging you and get a first had explanation of why he’s tried the things he’s tried
Could have been well worth the investment 🙂
In fairness I don’t think Justin is a bad guy, I was probably being overly sarcastic. It is the dead of night over here. It’s just an interviewing technique that needs to be honed is all. People work for years to be proper interviewers, and he’s only been doing it for a bit. Just suggest that he relax a little. Even though there might be a pause in speech, it doesn’t mean he’s doing a bad job. Let him know that as long as he is relaxed and more confident that he is doing a good job, then it will all work out. As to the Bootcamp I did look into it, but the dates just didn’t work for me here in the US. But one day I would like to so we can put Big Trouble in Little China on in the background and have that pint. : )
Justin is enthusiastic about games. It doesn’t seem to matter what games, as long as its a game. I think that’s better than being sedate and uninterested, there’s probably a middle ground between the two, but I’d personally rather Justin just did Justin.
@spaderfish and @warzan – I’ve done interviews with Justin several times (Revolution, Battlegroup, two for Barbarossa, one for BattleTech), I’ve actually never had a problem. if anything, in watching these interviews afterwards, I’ve always cringed a little at how much I’ve been “overrunning” Justin (and John), not the other way around.
I’ll take enthusiasm any day. In these conversations, nothing is worse than the other person politely nodding his head, occasionally smiling, staring at an imaginary point between your eyes, and once in a while tossing out a: “Hmm, that sounds interesting.” – “Uh huh.” – “Please, tell me more about this thing you’re talking about. Oh, I see. Well, that’s vert interesting, yes.”
I’ve met up with Justin twice during my time at mantic and he is an amazingly enthusiastic guy who I found draws out a lot from you when your talking to him.
I would not have or want him any other way.
As to the guys missing out on an Ulster Fry @warzan take them to that place near the train station!
Good morning and Happy Saturday, @lloyd had it spot on. We may not have come first in the Dropzone Tournament, but there is always next time, @michel86 and @seldon9 a great team mates. We had a damn good time:-) thats what keeps me into DzC the community is excellent. Even the hardcore players are sound and will have a laugh. Net time i think @warzan or @dignity should join the team 😉
Another great show. Very relaxing listening to lloyds dulcet tones while nursing a hangover.
What I love best about Mechs v Minions is that it isn’t a Kickstarter. I don’t have to wait long to get my hands on it. I’m gonna skip Mantic’s Star Saga. I need every penny for the new KDM Kickstarter. Great show guys.
Glad to see it back, missed not having it last week. As I’ve said before, those Icarus Miniatures do look good, especially at the true proportions – the human Alliance look exactly as I want my space humans to! 🙂
Icarus project seems promising. The minis look great and the backstory of the universe looks ok. I can’t wait to see how it develops further.
i’ve put in for the icarus KS, as i did last time, Models are very nice.
I also like the fluff released.
Also – if anyones interested in the Genestealers – http://imgur.com/a/JszhU – vehicles!
Never took the plunge into a kickstarter before as I am a “I want my shit NOW” kind of guy, but a sci-fi dungeon crawler may just be something that would have to learn to be Zen about. I love the cinematic idea of taking a band of sci-fi characters doing a boarding action or fighting through a research station. I think this game could scratch that itch.
Loved the Wreck-age interview. I am lucky enough to have a family of gamers and we are BIG role players as well as wargamers. There has been discussions about a post apocalyptic game that didn’t rely on zombies and what would be a good game to get. Well Wreck-age seemed to have ticked all our wish lists. So took the plunge and bought the rule book. May have to proxy the mini’s as I have a style of faction in mind and have seen a number of miniatures that have been needing an excuse to purchase.
Got to say well done to Dawn & Gianna for a great well executed interview. Although have to admit that I spent the first 5 minutes of the interview looking at all the games in the background going “Yep, got that one. Yes that one as well. OH what’s that one”. Time for “BoW Cribs” lol. I’d watch…. or does that mean I am turning into a gamer peeping tom?
@darkiss lol, thanks! I LOVE my games
Awesome Wreck Age segment, @deltagamegirl22 ! 😀 Always had a soft spot for post-apocalypse / post-collapse / post-pandemic kinds of settings. Probably a result of watching The Road Warrior for the first time late at night on TV in 1985 . . . 😀
I’d roleplay that robot straight from Hitchhikers’ Guide to the Galaxy – “your plastic pal who’s fun to be with!”
This week is supposed to temp fix it with new cards but silver tower app was pretty much DLC new characters
@dignity: yes, it was Nikea, although Magnus defying the Council of Nikea was only part of the reason Prospero was torched. The Emperor was pissed because Magnus broke the wards on the Terran Webway gate, forcing the Emperor to try and plug it with the Golden Throne and send the Custodes and Sisters of Silence through it to hold bake the daemon hordes. Also, they were only supposed to bring Magnus back to Terra (presumably so he could help fix the mess he’d made or at least so he could be shoved into the Throne to plug the Webway), but Horus contacted Russ and tricked him into thinking the order had changed from arrest to execute, hence why the Puppies, Custodes and Sisters torched the planet.
On Custodes fighting styles: iirc one of the HH books makes the comparison that Marines fight as a wolf pack while Custodes fight like lions (ie singularly/independently).
On Dreaball player in Star Saga: if you want to Justin you could have it be the Superstar and his bodyguards trying to fight their way through the legions of crazed fans in the corridors of the stadium to his limo in the car park ;p
On Justin and voice over: maybe that can be a stretch goal? Kickstarter exclusive of Justin reading out the fluff bits for atmosphere? 😉
Am I looking forward to Star Saga? Sorta. It sounds fun and interesting, but I’m currently broke so won’t be able to get in on the Kickstarter, plus, due to various reasons, I haven’t even started painting all my DS stuff yet, so should probably get that cleared before buying into another dungeon crawler game.
On a related note – any indication on whether Manticore will do something special with the boxes like they did for DS? The book idea wouldn’t work again, so what could it be? An ammo crate perhaps? Or maybe a stasis/sample container for some illegal tech/bio weapon/etc?
On the torching of Prospero: Horus did this so that the most dangerous legions (in his eyes) would be taken out of action and it working pretty well.
On the box set of Prospero burns: Does anybody know if there will be sisters in the box as well?
In some ways Prospero worked out better for Horus than planned, while neither Legion was wiped out, the puppies suffered a bad blow and ended up stuck out in the sticks for most of the Heresy and missed out on the Siege of Terra and the Sons ended up siding with him, boosting his forces, so over all was a win for Horus.
I feel sorry for Magnus for everything he tried to do to aid the Emperor he still screwed up and then joined chaos. But I would have liked to see the pups and sons join battle against a common enemy.
That unknown warrior for Star Saga looks like he could be The Survivor from Dadzone, with some upgraded armour. He’s still breathing inside a sealed suite to not infect anyone, and the helmet hides his face so you can’t see his mutations.
I too am severely tempted by Icarus. Star saga looks good so far, but will hold judgement.
I am in for Star Saga, thanks for a brilliant 2 hours, see you lads tomorrow.
I’ve been watching a lot of Hell on Wheels recently, so that Colin Buchanan mini in the blackwater starter is really tempting me…
damn forgot the beer and munchies
The armored character looks like a specialized Enforcer similar to N7-117 from the Deadzone 2 kickstarter. Can’t wait for Star Saga.
I am backing the icarus project ks… The minis are awesome in a grim / hard scifi look and their style reminds me of some at-43 models, especially the humans. And that each model is different from each other is also cool as i just play / paint for skirmish games.
Im going to go supercritical nerd and point out when you touched wood at the start of the video, you were technically touching laminate coated fibre board =p
It’s why when we did some filming later the internet went crazy again!
I really like the “Firefly vibe” on these miniatures
Great episode guys!
Mechs vs Minions def looks cool and the price for what you get is def going to turn some heads. The only thing is that its been reported that it will only be available direct from their website which could be one of the reasons they can offer it at such a low price. I don’t think you will see it in any retail let alone main stream stores but that could always change down the line.
I’m so excited for the Genestealer cult, the models are awesome and I think they have really captured the look of the old army and not having to deal with half plastic half metal is def a plus.
Star Saga has me intrigued It might actually get me to go in on a Mantic Kickstarter beyond the minimum pledge.
Star Saga – there goes my promise to myself to not back any more Kickstarters!
Dungeon Saga was ok, but not the Warhammer Quest-alike I was hoping for. Star Saga does look like a step up in quality, though. The art, certainly, is very nice.
Sigh. Once one has been a Kickstarter-addict, does it ever really leave you?
Great show!!
Can’t wait for the Walking Dead bootcamp really excited for it.
Also can’t wait the Devils Run Kickstarter, I’ve now finally got round to doing a bit more hot wheels conversions so cheers for the inspiration to start it up again.
I back the Icarus Project as I like want I seeing from their Kickstarter, good miniatures’ and two choices of starter set, and not having to put up a big bung of money.
I not sure about Star Saga it so far left me cold.
And i’m awake time for weekender
Loved the show, Icarus looks really impressive with some stunning models, and I’m trying to work out if I can afford dungeon saga in space…..
…but let’s be honest it’s a Mantic kickstarter so the answer is probably yes 🙂
I love the fact that you guys keep everything fun and chilled out! Keep doing what you are doing !! Going to go and find out about the icarus game now.
I liked the look of the Icarus project stuff the first time round and I naturally assumed it was funded and produced but forgot about it until now, kind of out of site out of mind. I am actually quite excited to see this is back and the fact that they have simplified it to just get 2 factions going I think is a wise move. Obviously if this is successful they could always run another Kickstarter to fund more factions by then the game will be running and will most probably gain momentum quite easily. I also think that the low model count is quite attractive and easy to just add another game to my collection…..
Oh I can’t wait for monday to back StarSaga! amazing stuff incoming
Good morning , great show guys.
The weekend at last….
I have the Wreck Age PDFs and it’s quite an interesting game system, though I’m considering setting a campaign in the UK rather than the US.
@warhammergrimace That’s the great thing about that system, it’s very flexible for you to make it your own.
As always guys a great show. Star Saga may be of interest, but will have to see what the models are. While i do enjoy Dungeon Saga with my daughter, the minis compared to other games, Shadows of Brimstone and Kingdom Death or any thing from CMON, is sadly lacking. BTW she is 5yo and while i clean up the games that are perhaps a bit beyond what I want to expose her too, she does love painting the girl zombies and giving them pretty dresses.
Those Nexus minis look awesome
I like the look of that blackwater gulch stuff,
and Genestealer cults back in full force, can’t wait for the official reveal of the vehicle next week as from what I’ve seen it looks outstanding
Wow, I was not expecting this from Mantic, nice
Not sure how I missed Project Nexus on KS. Looks like a promising game.
Looking forward too the Star saga game, will have to see if the money is there to back it tho…
I played collision today at a convention. Awesome game. Played both factions, liked the unwanted best. Definately will back the kickstarter. I hope you guys will give this game more air time.
The guy with the double drill rocked! Everything folded to onslaught of the double drill. 🙂
The Icarus project miniatures look really good. I also will have to check out the wreckage site for more info on the game. Great show.
Come on gulch, I need my mr keeper mini please please please
have to say the nexus minis are head turningly good sculpts. paint jobs pretty A too.
Great show guys!
I’m exited with Star Saga, but i will check out how it plays… glad to see we won’t be stuck with the same 4 dudes all the way but, i hope that we don’t only have 2 types of loot like DS (potions & crystals) and that we can get skills like Imperial Assault…
Since me and a few friends are getting into Warpath, it could be an interesting addon to play.
See you Sunday!
I like the look of the Nexus and I can imagine them storming up the Walking Dead tables as part of an alien invasion looking to clear out the last pockets of humanity
happy weekend all, really great show
@warzan @cesar A Justin’s and dragons scene from this ep.
Panel 1 an extreme close up on an extremely excited Lloyd
@lloyd exclaims – “werebuffalo”
Panel 2
Justin looking nonplused pointing into the distance
@dignity – “there buffalo!”
From off panel “moooo” or whatever noise buffalo make
Love the look of the Nexus. Really great sculpts.
@justin Looking forward to get our pledge here too. Can’t wait to just put it togheter get it a basic color and then get our first game in with my friends who ordered them. However as I kinda ordered it all…. I’ll be able to provide fleets to the curious 😛
For Geenstealer’s cult I am looking forward to that too although not necesserly for 40k at first. Maybe start by a small force for Necromunda as some friends wants to get a campain started so it’ll be good for some scenarios. Then it might grow to Kill team maybe 😉
Thanks for a great show that carried me through a fair bit of painting.
hiho,
one question: is a dungeon crawler on a spacestation a dungeon crawler or is it something different?
I owne a couple of Icarus miniatures, the detail is really good. I hope the KS will be a success!
Realy interested in the Icarus Project! 🙂
Great looking stuff – looking forward to seeing more!
LIke the look of the Nexus figures they really are good looking sculpts, but i’d rather go for the alliance I think.
Liking the look of the cults
Anybody use HG 1/144 Gundam models in their weird war II games?
Man, if I didn’t have that many games already, I think i’d get in on Star saga. I wonder how the box will look.
As to Legio/Adeptus being interchangeable… Not really. In the Horus Heresy Era, they’re Legio Custodes. Much like in the HH era it’s *Legiones* Astartes, not Adeptus. Yes, the Legio Custodes were the Emporers Bodyguards. More than a Space Marine but less than a Primarch.
& Genestealers use Ovipositors, *in a grotesque mockery of a kiss* [they’re a direct rip-off of Alien/Aliens Xenomorphs, sans chestbursting ;-)], to implant their genetic-stuffs into humans. Quite less painful than being cut open, but far more insidiously horrific!
Blaster was here…
I’m really looking forward to alot of the GW stuff at the moment. Both the new WD and the Prospero burn box with new shiny minis and the genestealer cult and and and.. Too much for my wallet 🙂
And now that Icarus game with fab looking minis. At least those I have a shot at getting for free 😉
Remember being interested in Blackwater the first time around but couldn’t get anyone to play with but this time around some mates have been running Malifaux so they might be more susceptible got that kind of western this time around.
I’ve been watching the Icarus Kickstarter very closely. I absolutely love the human sniper and very tempted by the gunslinger. Hell I tempted by the whole starter set.
Re the conversation about video games vs table top and not wanting dlc and micro transactions in the latter. Once you’ve bought the core set of something and rule book isn’t every single mini you then buy a further micro transaction to further your team, and every new campaign a bit of dlc?
In terms of the collect able element and adding to build the narrative, as well as investing in a game genre/system over the long term, then I think video game are trying to emulate this industry rather than vice versa.
a great show folks star saga & wreck age looks interesting.
I do understand the point of “dungeon saga had set heroes and some people didn’t like that”
But there’s nothing stopping a DM putting a bit of effort in and changing up the models and printing some stat cards themselves.
I agree and they bought out the adventurers companion expansion especially so that you can expand and play with your own characters / miniatures if you want.
Show that you are listening, because customers like that, but don’t promote your new product by bashing your last one. Dungeon Saga is still actively followed and enjoyed and probably still adding to the coffers?
If the feedback they got was that the game was too linear and too few characters, then I guess they are only commenting on common feedback, but I think there were one or two many digs.
Wow! Great Weekender.
The Icarus project looks awesome and the feral nexus are very cool miniatures.
I downloaded the short story and rules for Wreck Age and am really taken with the world. It is less dark and alien than Dark Age and not as doom ridden or weird as other post apocalyptic game worlds. I found it easy to relate to the peoples of the world and like that they do have a chance at survival, even though the environment and threats are harsh and unforgiving. The factions are not technically at a state of permanent war with one another which gives more room for alliances and more scope for narrative scenarios. I like the war band nature and campaign type play, because (as in Frostgrave) you begin to personalise and empathise with each miniature and are loathed to see any of them die.
I love the Treant from the Stonehaven kickstarter and am looking for a Frost / Ice giant for the Frostgrave encounter table. (Really don’t like the look of the Northstar Frostgrave giant.)
The wild west isn’t my genre, but the miniatures are lovely.
I like Dungeon Saga. I seem to be more and more attracted to Mantic games, but I have spread myself thin with too many games and hardly anyone to even play them. Star Saga looks cool but I’m not tempted yet. I’ll hold out until at least until I see a play through and painted minis.
I’m a huge fan of the Nexus miniatures and fluff. Very unique look.
The Nexus look great, probably my favourite of the two sets.
Another great show guys and the Icarus stuff looks really cool
Icarus looks epic!
Wow – a hell of a lot seened to be crammed into that weekender!
Star Saga looks a littke interesting, but I’ll probably give it a miss – no-one in my local clubs is interested.
I backed the Icarus Project last time around, and I’ve backed it again. Beautifully sculpted minis and the back stories in the rulebook are really good.
Not too worried about the 40K stuff – so many people I know have given this up, it’s a rarity in one club now. Still love the fluff though.
The rest was interesting, but nothing really made me go ‘oooohhhhhh – must have these shinies!’
Great show as always…
Games Workshop have already tried Micro-transactions with both Age of Sigmar and Silver Tower. Both games have Companion Apps that contains in-app stores for buying additional game content (Warscrolls and Formations for AoS and Heroes, skills and gear for Silver Tower).
I’m considering to back star saga, but I guess I’ll wait to see how the campaign looks like
Star Saga looks intriguing!
The Icarus Project stuff looks awesome, I hope they continues with the books too.
thanks to the boys for the show.
thanks to the girls for the interview , i whole heartedly approve of all the STAR WARS.
@emptynessisform May the Force be with you!
Can I also just say that I’m loving the US studio with @deltagamegirl I think it’s adding a new dimension to Beasts of War and really helping to get contact with designers from across the pond.
Thanks @onlyonepinman! 😀
Really liked the Wreck Age interview. I am looking at a lot of PA now and will be sure to check it out. Great job Dawn.
Thanks, @cbrenner 😀
I already have two of all the available Icarus miniatures except the new models (Assassin, Outrider etc). Nevertheless, to support an upcoming company I chose to go for the two boxed sets plus a few extras of the new miniatures.
Once the alternative weapon sprues are out I will have additional grunts etc to put them on, so it was no loss to buy the two starter boxes.
a show so good i watched it twice……… ok the real reason is im old and fell asleep the first time………..
Damn, there’s so much new stuff I want to get now… My wallet (and my wife) hate me 🙂
For the Icarus models I have to say I like the aliens a bit more then the humans. But it was the special forces aliens from the last kickstarter then got my interest. The almost feral ones just looks odd to me. But they do have some talented people on the staff making and painting those models so I have to wait until pay day to see what I can get.
Hey check this out for Wreck Age…
https://youtu.be/v3TamhM9LWk
Thank you very much 🙂
I am so pleased the BWG kickstarter funded. I backed it a couple of weeks ago and it has been a nervous wait!
It is funny that you ask how a board game can be micro-transactioned. It is the model games companies like GW are based on, really.
Another great episode. Keep it up!
The Nexus models really are very tempting, just not sure if I’ll be able to stretch the hobby budget any further at the moment. They might just have to be a retail purchase at a later date.
I know I will be backing star saga.
The icarus models look fantastic
Totally in line with Lloyd in regards to not worried about ‘the win’ – games that are close and have each side fighting for it are always the best! Find it hard to really enjoy when you utterly stomp an opponent 😛
That artwork for the space vampire in SS looks pretty sharp 😀
Endure the Stars is a Sci Fi dungeon crawler that funded on Kickstarter last year and is almost near completion. It’s worth checking out.
Cool looking game!…Got a nice atsmophere going on!
The Icarus stuff looks good
I am really looking forward to Devil’s Run, sign me up for some vehicular post apocalyptic fun!
A usual an awesome episode.
I really wisch ICARUS does well this time – I already have bought some of the minis and I am very pleased: really crisp details and top notch casting.
Glad Icarus is back on KS.
Another interseting couple of hours spent painting miniatures (Kings of War) while watching and listening. Giving a prize of a Kickstarter and being two starter sets is a great way to get people int a new game. Hey maybe you can get Ronnie to do the same for Star Saga kickstarter.. Coffee Break time 🙂
I really thought Project Icarus had funded the first time around. They do have some nice minis for it.
I’m curious to see how Star Saga goes. Mantic have something to prove here given that it is increasingly coming across as Dungeon Saga v1.5 after what feels like 10 minutes ago, and on the back of yet another kickstarter. Hopefully they deliver something more crowd pleasing than the mixed reception Dungeon Saga has had.
Those Nexus are some amazing minis.
Love the weekender 🙂
Thanks for another great show!
Woa finally a mad max – metal storm themed board game, curious about the gaming tiles and rules, after that im going to check it deeply, Also icarus aliens Seems originals and cool.
Its great to see on hobby industry that they explore new areas to lure us in with something new and offering great products. Sadly from a year Or so my budget for minis and Games was lowering a lot, btw i have on queue several projects, team yankee, conan, bloodrage and plunder, saga..
Also after that will check carefuly blackwater cluch ks.
Thanks mates for such great episode!
Awesome show is awesome. Awesome price is awesome. LOL! :)
Totally going to be following Star Saga on KS… should be a big one for Mantic! Cant wait for the Walking Dead xD
Another great show, nexus look awesome may have to take the plunge
Another great weekender video.
Not sold on Star Saga but I do like the ‘Wrath’ Mini it’s one of my favorites that Mantic has made. I’d love to use it for my Tau.
£500 till free resin miniatures stretch goal and 26 backers till free Artbook in the Icarus Kickstarter. If anyone wants to jump in, now is the time! You know you want to Justin 🙂
Genestealer Cults were my fav in 2nd edition!
Icarus looks fun!
