Weekender: Age Of Sigmar Hits & Amazing Terrain
July 4, 2015 by warzan
Welcome to The Weekender! We've got some cracking stuff for you today including a look at some brilliant terrain and a discussion on the new Age of Sigmar. Do we think it has promise for Games Workshop? Let's get stuck in.
Awesome Terrain
First up we're going to be looking at a range of different terrain companies throughout the show. The first of these is Cracked Earth Studios who provide an awesome array of different fully painted Fantasy buildings and other terrain pieces that would be perfect for your tabletop.
Dawn and Gianna love these guys and we can see why.
As well as that we're looking at what's new from 4Ground which includes their new Ruins terrain which we reckon could well be perfect for some additional character on our Age of Sigmar Table.
Age of Sigmar
Talking of the Age of Sigmar from Games Workshop we also have a discussion about what we think of it so far after seeing the rules and the myriad of different models. It's certainly a new direction for Games Workshop to take with the game but we reckon that's got to be a good thing right?
Heer46 Kickstarter
Going historical we also have a look at the Heer46 IndieGoGo which is looking to bring a range of metal Germans from World War II onto the tabletop. It's based on the historical events surrounding the Eastern Front push on Russian by the Germans.
They are doing a nice array of metal miniatures alongside some vehicles from a stalwart of the industry, Rubicon.
Prizes!
We've also had some prizes to give out and some prizes to win! One of these is for a set of the FOUR DEMIGODS painted by Awaken Realms for Demigods Evolution. The other is for the 4Ground City Watch Tower. Keep an eye out to see if you won.

Yay Demigods!
Second!
I’m curious about your opinions regarding both the lack of balance and structure in AoS and some of the silly meta game rules for the older models like “have a starring contest” or “if you kneel when Setra is your general you loose the game”.
I’d ask but I’d probably get labelled a troll…..
Nah, you’d probably just get told to lighten up. After all, it is just a game of toy soldiers 😉
If that’s how questions get answered….
When it comes to those rules – I’m not so sure. There are other games that have little rules like that which include SAGA and their beard thing (if you have a bigger beard you win ties etc).
I guess it fits into the more relaxed Age of Sigmar ‘vibe’ but I do see why people just think it’s stupid.
I’ve been looking over the Warscrolls for my Dwarfs and one thing that immediately struck me is that they’ve taken away a fair degree of the customisation. But, all the rules seems fairly neat.
I’ve heard a lot of people saying Vampire Counts and Undead in general have been given quite the boost and people love how they play now.
BoW Ben
Oh, and I like their structured ‘options’ for creating armies with a theme to them and getting a bonus for doing so. I don’t how how much that’s going to help the balance but it gives you an incentive to get stuck in on making something tweaked to that degree.
Thanks.
Still trying to wrap my head around the lack of solid structure.
Saga sounds sexist towards non dwarven women btw lol
I think we’ll see something come down the pipeline for those wanting a bit more structure – like developed ways in which to use those ‘Army Lists’ to curtail what people can and can’t take etc and in what numbers.
Away from that though I think they’ve just tried to make the game a lot simpler and broader in appeal. I will have to get a game on at some point over the next week with my Dwarfs and see how they still hold up.
I am already thinking up a range of ‘Old Grumbler’ lines and stuff to use when I want to get the bonus for my Longbeards 😉
They game’s alright as a coffee table game. But for a lot of people out there, we need that structure that WHF had and 40k has.
I guess the answer to that @toxicvex is to either wait and see what happens with AoS or play Kings of War for mass ranked battles and AoS for the more casual “shall we just break out some models and have a game?” idea.
Maybe GW realised that they don’t actually want to compete with Mantic over this and they could just do something different entirely.
We shall see.
As a VC player the undead got a huge boost. But the game is in desperate need of a points system case in point is nagash should go can cast so many times a turn that he can summon an entire army every turn. Until we as a community figure out a point system its basically a no go for me which is unfortunate but cause I see some fun brilliance in the warscrolls… Even the weird rules like getting a bonus for talking to a Konrad model and an even bigger bonus if he talks back
Or that Slann can keep summoning new units or a Skaven gunline or even Horrors summoning more Horrors.
The game’s in dire need of a points system or something that can and balance it.
GW (objectively) didn’t put an awful lot of effort into the rules.
Seems to me AoS is not intended to be a tournament-level game with balanced forces. Probably the base game comes with scenarios that require the inclusion of certain models per side. After that players would be encouraged to experiment with different force compositions. “We played last week and my guys couldn’t hurt your [monstrously powerful unit]. How about I bring some [powerful unit] to make it more fair?”
No offense, but GW is not targeting you “competitive” folks with AoS.
@refernandz2001 you don’t need to be competitive to want some well rounded balanced rules. I’m a casual 40k player and 40k still has points and balance.
It asks me to log into YouTube when I hit play … so there’s me thinking “who swore then?”. 😉
is the some thing wrong with the vid ?
Could be the “minor success” Warren talked about in the vlog.
check the video please, it’s marked private!
Yup. Houston, you have a problem. I know this is the grand trial this weekend. So sounds like you didn’t dodge the snafu then?
Same with the ‘log-in’ request.
same for me, cant see the weekender. where is the pic of Justin?
hmm Works when using Explorer. does not Work when on firefox or chrome
Worked fine for me…
Video is currently private.
Given the tech problems … UNhappy Saturday. Lol.
Can’t see the video 🙁
Morning all.
Working now!
Aww… man…
I just brewed coffee…
Don’t make me wander around the mean streets of the Internet with my coffee waiting for the video to get un-snafued (it’s a word – look it up). 😛
Get in!
Coffee is still warm and the doors are now open.
Fixed now folks, its been a long week lol
I imagine you relived the frantic scene in Star Trek The Wrath Of Khan where Khans ship gets hacked by the prefix code to lower the shields and he’s looking for the override …
Exactly lol
Oh my God…
Had to pause video.
Best. Into. Ever.
Holy crap…
Anyone else see a slight lag in the sound? Could be me.
Yup it’s small but I think I see it, well look into that for next week 🙂
It might just be taking the sound longer to get down your extra length…
Booo…just boo. 😀
It works! Nice video. It is great to see you so clearly! Wow!
It is just about 11PM Friday night for me, here is Oregon. So it perfect time for me.
tfs……time for my weekender fix 🙂
Saturday morning lie in while watching the weekender…happy days 🙂
Yeah! Then you have to wait seven long days …
WOOOHOOOO !!!
Best beginning ever… of anything !
Good to see that your hard work paid off. Nice job guys. It felt like there was so much talked about and the video just flew by.
AoS looks interesting but the jury is out on the miniatures. Fantastic sculpts but I can see a lot of business decisions in them to tempt customers over from 40k. Cut the sword off any of them and replace with a bolt gun and they would work in 40k. I would have preffered something less bulky and more believable. But, I think it will work for GW and the game will sell, after all it is the system that needs to work, you can always use other minis…
What swords?
They all have ridiculous hammers designed to spread impact over a greater area so no one gets hurt or axes so unbalanced you can’t get them up to speed.
I agree, I think the models are way too 40k, I mean I understand roman centurion-esk but these are a tad too much.
I want Demigods
Getting a slighly out of sync audio?
a little … See above 🙂
Good show! After I hear you talk about AoS my interest in it rises, if you keep talking about it I’ll have to get it.
The live editing seems to work fine. I did however think that the lights were a bit darker than usual. Any changes to the light set?
Thanks for another great show!
Yup
We have more work to do now upfront on light balancing etc, should get better as we get a grip on it 🙂
Great show, as always.
I love the 4ground stuff! Have bought a load of Mordenborg buildings and am building at present and saw the church yesterday that thought it would fit nicely. I want to build a dockside too but am not quite there with what to do yet.
Excellent show. Really looking forward to the new Infinity Week. Plus…AoS!
Holy Cow, I thought the Demi Gods you gave away this week were awesome, those pro painted one are beyond cool (or is that Kewl). Have to say I really love those Heer 46 figures. The opening Infinity vid made almost made me want to start playing, and that’s all I need is another game. Good show guys, by the time I saw this episode that were only a few glitches.
Not used to seeing the weekender actually on a saturday. I’m usually playing catchup a week or so later
Mainly came here for Age of Sigmar, but Demigods looks cure
Hi,
Sorry but its a bit disappointing just watched a run through of the age of Sigmar box set and its just space marines V chaos marines. I was hoping for a new fantasy game but right now it sure dont look like it and no matter how good the rules are if i dont like the look of the mini’s i ain’t spending no money on it.
Not to worry, the rules are worse.
The new Age of Sigmar seems very fun, not exactly conducive to any form of competitive play however GW has never been great with making a balanced game. I think here they are pretty much saying that, we understand that we don’t make balanced games so just have fun with our models here are some pretty light rules (compared to last warhammer).
I’m fairly sure I’ve read somewhere that GW have been on record as saying that balance and tournament play are not something they give high priority to when designing a game. Age of Sigmar is what you might term an extreme example of that.
That Infinity Trailer is absolutely amazing!! I would love to see Corvus Belli do some supporting material for Infinity, like novels, comics and/or Graphic novels.
It’s a little funny how US Ariadna Infinity models outclass the new GW releases.
Warhammer age of Sigmar new mini the Driger rider. 🙂
On a more serious note, loving Ariadna can’t wait for pre-order!
Demi gods is a nice game. Too bad the creators are resin mad and dont listen to original plasticbackers.
Yay. The weekend!
Beautiful minis…
OMG! Infinity new boxed set is utterly stunning! Shiney!!!! It is a faction I don’t currently have sadly but it looks like I may start a new faction with this set. Stunning trailer also.
Good morning. It seems to work on YouTube…
Really? More Demigods? There are other good KS etc out there deserving some attention.
So my Ariadna Merovingians along with Caledonians and Kazaks are sitting there thinking…
“Typical US, turn up late and attempt to take all the glory!” and
“Hey Warren, we defined gritty in Infinity!”
@39:45 You know what the church needs to go 40k?
“FLAGS” Lloyd… FIags & Banners
AoS: Got a very close look at this box Last night (won’t say where) and have downloaded the rules/Scrolls.
In the same way I haven’t liked the direction 40k minis are been going recently stylistically I can see the same happening toFantasy. But then I’m not GW’s core demographic!
So what? I have more than enough Minis and several rule sets to play should I choose, I don’t HAVE to buy more. I even like the lite AoS rules, I got fed up with mm precision positioning of movement trays blocking charges etc.
Have fun!
Great show, was over before I knew it soo much interesting content. Looks like I have to dust off my old undead army and give Sigmar a try.
such an exciting time to be a gamer
That infinity and 4ground stuff looks amazing! I’m a bit disappointed on the Age of a Sigmar box set but I’ll probably still buy it. But the thing I liked the most was the Star Wars t-shirt Warren was wearing
Worked fine but video n audio a bit muddy
Great show, looking forward to seeing XLBS tomorrow morning….
I personally find the new minis in the AOS box quite in line with all other minis GW produced for fantasy lately. They are very mediocre models in years where the competition produces some great ones. So i guess when WFB players say they killed the game the don’t only refer to the rules, but to the look and feel as well. Still commercially is eventually a good move: it takes time for new players to invest money in the competition so for a couple of years they’ll stick to this. Us old players already have our armies and i strongly doubt we would buy these new ones.
In case anyone missed it, here’s the rest of the starter box contents – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IFyPbghStRo
It is indeed Sanguinary Guard v. World Eaters.
Loving the world of tanks t-shirt John, what’s your in game name so I can add you to my “celebrity gamers to hunt” list 🙂
very interesting to see were fantasy is going
Also the trailer for Infinaty may just get me to look the game up
Demigods look interesting. Fantastic miniatures for sure 🙂
Loch Death that’s a proper Warhammer name.
God damn it! I just finished painting my Ariadna…better get stuck in with the new ones then 😉
Maybe a side by side comparison of these two painting levels standard and PRO?
@warzan you need to take your time when going from the closecam
Um I’m a VERY average painter so let me please win shiny, shiny Demi Gods figures to induce a Gollum isn response from smeagol, I mean me.
Think that the “experiment” was a great sucsess, I didn’t notice the audio sync issue, the only (very minor) edit “mistake” I noticed was a little sectiom where Warren was talking to the main camera but the camera shot was from the side. However had I not been looking closely to give you feedback I’d probably not have noticed this either. Glad to see you guys are spending our Backstager fees well, quicker editing means more content and I can’t wait for more live stuff.
Catch you in XLBS tomorrow morning!
Ok looked at the Age of Sigmar rules now they seem ok-ish, looks fairly playable but I’m yet to convinced theres not a better skirmish game already out their. It feels kinda light so will have to wait and see. I’m not saying I wouldn’t buy it but definitely sitting on the fence for the moment.
Oh and the new set up worked well I thought a few moments where Warren was looking into the wrong camera etc but nothing major. Well done guys its nice to see you continue to push the envelope with the entire Beasts of War experience.
Gooooood morning 🙂
I’m not sure how I feel about the age of sigmar stuff. Not a fan of the fantasy marines styling but see some potential in smaller scale games, having never managed to get a proper sized army complete in the past. Overall I think there are probably other games out there that interest me more as I get back into the hobby.
Shameless attempt to win prize
This Imperial Knight looks great! I wonder what we will find in AoS rules… it looks like its huge change in WFB rules ;/
Nice show as always. Not sure about AoS.
Age of Slumber…
Watching that teaser I was like “yeah, Americans. Not to much a fan of tha… Holy crap! They’ve got bikes! Must have!”
I keep seeing that copy of Dreadfleet behind Warren. I’d love to see them bring that out again.
Ah, Dreadfleet. While not the greatest game in the world, it has great models and was fun. Shame the reaction was so negative. It was nice to see GW doing something different for a change, rather than re-hashing what has gone before. A bit like AoS. I’m not a fan of the models and the rules don’t excite me, but credit to GW for stepping out of their comfort zone.
Ahhh, new Infinity box and week upcoming! Great news!
I think GW didn’t coordinate this very well with Forge World. Many of us have Forge World fantasy models and I feel the very least they could have done is put up a notice on the website to let us know what will happen.
As it goes I spoke to Forge World and in the next few months they hope to get scrolls done for existing product range but no one knows and it sounds doubtful there will be any scrolls for discontinued models such as Tamurikhan or the war mammoth. This leaves me thinking we will have to create our own scrolls and get opponent consent. There was a hint but only a hint that they may redo some older models but we won’t know for many months yet. In the meantime large Forge World models could gather dust or make their way to eBay.
That aside some of the scrolls do look interesting and where initially it may be a novelty to wear a false moustache or carry a mug of ale around when playing I for one will agree beforehand lets just assume we each meet the silly rule requirement for any models fielded and have a game.
Where´s all the bolt-action stuff? Did you not record more than those two/four videos? WOuld love to see more of your “old-school” demo games. I think I learn way more from them old videos compared to the new that try to focus on specific rule/part of the game. DO love the tactics style videos you did with DzC but more demos man, they rock! This way we also get to see more the fantasic terrain you got.
Yes we have more 🙂
So erm… What did you think of the show? 😉
The shows are great, wouldnt be a paying members else 😛
not so sure about the models , i guess they are look to convert some 40k players over !
the rules sound interesting though
I’d love some demigods 🙂
I didn’t really find any problem with the show 🙂 It’s an amazing work!
These miniatures look amazing
Congrats on the new workflow working out!
I’d like to say you should use that new found free time to get yourself a nice cool cider to cool down in this weather but really I want you guys to get back into the studio and produce more quality entertainment!
Demi gods look awesome! I’m certainly intrigued by AoS and wish GW all the best
USAriadna is just wow! I cannot wait for infinity week! I wonder what’s the werewolf’s weapon: chain colt? heavy pistol? Any way it seems USAriadna is going to have a lot of flamethrowers combined with high ARM stats. Sweet!
Was really hoping for an AOS more in line with early rumours. Female characters, humans with a different feel for each unit type. What I’ve seen just doesn’t appeal to me whatsoever and I would have brought this day one if it just wasn’t this. Plus so many great skirmish games such as bushido that looks better IMO and definitely plays better (assumption based on rule readings) that never get mentioned here. I never played fantasy so I would have jumped in, in a heartbeat
Never played WHF but Sign at looks like it could be interesting
Amazing terrain 🙂
That Ariadna army box… Knocked it out of the park!
I rarely Pre-Order anything but this one gonna be an exception
I’m not entirely sure about the sigmarines to be honest, I think having those helmets AND a gold colour scheme just emphasises how much they look like my Blood Angels, and whilst I like the idea for conversions, the starter clip together ones are not really suitable for kit bashing.
However, I like the chaos ones for the exact reason you guys don’t, they are Khorne Berserkers, and they are much better ones than the actual kit itself. I’ll be picking up some of those off ebay and sticking on some backpacks and the odd boltpistol sidearm I think.
Not sold on the rules yet but I think it may get better as more units are released for this game specifically rather than grandfathered in from fantasy, and for the gaming table, be wary of the scale creep, both sigmarines and the chaos are significantly bigger than previous models, they may be big enough to look out of scale with the 4ground buildings.
Not all of the box contents is too large. The Chaos Warriors and Cultists are about in line with the existing Chaos Marauders and Knights. The Stormcasts are about the same scale as Terminators but I think they’re supposed to be bigger – they’re essentially battle angels; like Demons only good. I’d imagine them to be the size a Space Marine would be if it were true scale
Love awaken realms work….
Really not sure about the starter set of Sigmar – it’s just a bit too 40k for me so far. Let’s see where the new releases go I guess
4Ground kicking out the amazing stuff as per usual. That church looks epic!
And how did I forget USA USA USA!
Excellent show as always. Really liked those buildings from 4 ground
Great show, new concept seems to work so well done for the test run
Now just have to try AoS to see how it plays
great show guys ,,, need to work on the sound
I dont want to sound like a douche bag but this episode the sound does not go with the lip movements.
What I’ve seen of the fluff so far doesn’t make me excited. (Caveat on the following, I don’t know the ins and outs of everything with the new fluff this is just on what I’ve seen so far)
Theres some cool models I even have a bit of a soft spot for the SigmarMarines. I w not read the rules so I’m not going to comment on them.
But I wanted to be hooked by this Warhammer reboot and I’m not.
I think the main reason for this is that I wanted Warhammer: Game of thrones (something gritty and dark) and what we seem to have is Warhammer: Everquest ( high bubblegum fantasy).
I was a massive fan of the mythos from the old world especially WFRP. I love the background of the Empire (I wasn’t a fan of the frilly uniforms on the troops but loved the background but I didn’t have the cash previously to invest in the game anyway), I loved middenheim and Ulric I even liked the cliche sisters of Shallya…
And it seems to all be gone from this new world.
This makes me sad.
GW may surprise me still (if they go Full Norse mythology and the old world is still there as a Midgard to sigmars Asgard) but so far I’m not hopeful.
Please surprise me GW
I get the impression that the way the new “world” (or realms) is set up you can make a full Norse world for yourself and it will slot right in. It’s created more “gaps”, as @warzan calls them, which is something 40k always did much better than fantasy.
Thought the weekend was ruined when at 6 o’clock it was a Private Video and not even able to leave comments, nothing on Youtube or Facebook.. so I went back to sleep.
Woke up to everything fixed! Great Intro and Weekender! Congrats. Job well done.
for me the infinity reveal and minis blow that tired old warhammer stuff right out of the water!
Great show as always guys, Epic work!
Demigods looks very interesting
well I enjoyed Warrens guessing game of which Cam to look at 😛
was interesting to see the models finally out but AoS Meh
The video editing live works well.
I like the look of Age of Sigmar for friendly games with folk you know,
but for pickup games, or even worse competitive tournaments there’s going to need to be a bunch of work to balance and limit things
@Warren, before you get any further with your layout I suggest you have a dry run on trying to play on it. I have all the Fantasy Realms buildings but they are a pain to use if you lay them out close together as you will always be knocking the roofs off leaning in between them when trying to move the models, you need wide avenues when using these buildings.
Demigods, incredible paint jobs
vid looked great guys i didnt notice any out of sync audio but then i am watching on a very old laptop that cost me £70, so its not brilliant hehe. Happy Saturday and looking forward to tomorrow 🙂
Speculation about flames of war cold war… get the inside scoop guys! And get me models 🙂
Show was great as always. Really excited about Infinity week and that new army box – hope they take a similar approach with some of the other factions.
USA! USA! USA!
Pre-ordering this on the 6th, for sure! Super excited for another Infinity week, USAriadna has been something I have been excited about for a while now. It’s finally here!
As for Age of Sigmar, I’m not sure how well this will do. To be honest I think I’ll be sticking to Dungeon Sagas and the Lords of War card game for my fantasy fix.
I think army boxes would be a great idea for Infinity, each army having a full legal force, plus terrain specific to the faction.
Great episode guys, seems to me everything went fine, but the look of the AOS stuff seems a bit over the top and juvenile – even more so than Warmahordes. Having said that, if the size of the ‘fantasy space marine’ Sigmarites is large enough, one could use them to make true-scale sci-fi Blood Angels space marines. ( Sounds like a project to me).
Good show! Sound was a little iffy but hey ho! Working out the kinks!
AOS is clearly an attempt to draw 40k players (of a certain age) over into Fantasy. I’ll wait and see what the next step is. I applaud them for the release of PDF rules and warscrolls for previous factions, however, the rules are too light with no real innovation, the Sigmarines are just that and Chaos is same old same old.
Going by midweek Vlog, weekender its alive, alive I tell you. Yeah slight sound issue but hope it was the success you hoped for.
Flying Sigmar thing, as well as maybe a model copy the wings remind me of the Legion/Dominion angel wings.
Infinity marines, could they maybe fit with Terminator or AvP game as well as some variant troop types?
Hmm, video not appearing…
@warzan, loving the Weekender, always a highlight of my Saturday morning. Will On the Table be coming back at all? Used to love that show for getting all my gaming news.
Happy Saturday, My downfall is now complete. I dont pay for internet content -“I NEED BOW backstage sign me up”. I dont do kickstarters -“OH look Conan shinies put me down for a wad”. I have enough games to be getting on with-“What a Demo gimmie Bolt action, what a bootcamp gimmie Infinity, I need Flames of War just cos Dave Shoulder” I am never playing Warhammer Fantasy again- “Like that lake town board idea, o.k need saw, plasters,”Honey where are my Vampire Counts”. I dont have or need a Twitter account-“OMG live interactive shows how do I get Twitter on this thing”. You have ruined my wallet and rocked my relationship and I thank you for it.(show still looks great by the way)
Lol
I like you he he he 🙂
Not sold on AoS yet. Really need to give it a go to get a fair view. From what people have told me who picked it up today and had a quick go it seems as a standalone box game the rules work well. I’d like to see how that translates to minis and forces not in the starter set
the new format seems to work, well done
Im not sure if anyone has called it yet, but how many Corax conversions are wide going to see in Horus Heresy once that knight angel thingy drops?…
Yeh the weekender is here
Hmz dunno what to think about Age of Sigmar. A lot of cool stuff, but the list of cons is pretty long too. Toningh I play my first game, we’ll see. Definitely going to give Kings of War 2 a try also.
The ks of Demigods it’s coming to an end. Some extra backers would be nice for the next stretch goal. I’m already in for gold 😀
Thanks for the weekender guys!
good, let us know how you’ll manage the selection of troops!
Wow demigods has turned out pretty cool.
Well I feel GW has done it again and by that I mean these look like Space Marines. Not crazy about any of it. I get that they’re going for that something GWish but I just think, ah! Like Justin said, it’s Blood Angels and Khorne Berserkers without backpacks. This is not something that I feel I need to be a part of.
I checked the rules for Age of Sigmar which i find sleek for sure and i appreciate GW’s very bold move (hate the minis but hey, it’s personal taste i guess). If I understand most of our (old WFB players) doubts revolve around the selection of troops that have no more point cost. So in theory you can field anything you like and as many models as you like. The only limit is your spending capacity, the biggest your collection the more models to field. Now after all these years I guess it’s hard to think out of the box, still I don’t see how this could work.
Demigods looks the most interesting of the new batch of games, figures look amazing and the synergy cross play really fires my imagination.
Loved the infinity video, more like this please games companies.
With regards the new video, my only comment would be having a system to let Warren know which camera he is on. I call Minor Success. Close to total victory though.
I’m growing closer to accepting AoS but if I am forced to make noises to make my special rules work then check ebay for some cheapish armies soon.
Well I am still loving the demigods minis…hint hint
I have to say that I was considering looking at AoS. Even with it becoming a skirmish game I was still willing to go in I like my large scale battles but 28mm is just to big for that. So could cope with it…then I saw the mini’s such a 40k look puts me right off…
The video worked fine although a bit too many camera changes at the start.
Anywho now going back to my cave and paint my 6mm
nice weekender
AoS is probably one of the most ineresting business decisions to come from GW for years. I’m interested o see how it will pan out.
The new artistic style for the sigmarines looks very “marmite” to me. I can see some loving them an others hating them. (sadly I am in the latter camp – I like my fantasy understated).
Looking at this launch now, I am put in mind of a kickstarter. I wonder if there was no GW logo on the product how well it would go? Does GW’s reputation help or hinder them? Particularly if it was cut off from the Warhammer legacy and all the emotional baggage that ges with that?
GW’s financial reward is hinging on the volume sales of new stuff. They get nothing if people play the new rules with old models and don’t engage in this new direction. And as was touched on in the video they will have to sell a crap ton of new boxes to justify the investment. Will it get its legs under it, or will it ultimatey fail in capturing the collecive volume in the cowded market of fantasy skirmish games, and be consigned to the dustbin of history along with Dreadfleet and such?
Having seen the new WD and the detial of these new models now, I can definitelyy say I will play a couple of trial games with my legacy Undead army to see if they are fun, but any spending will likely be going on Frostgrave and Kings of War models, which appeal more to my sensibilities.
The Angel on the left painted by Awaken Realms is absolutely gorgeous as are the Demigods themselves.
USA!, USA!, USA!
I really should be getting that and the Age of Sigmar in the same pay check but it going to be so hard not to.
The first round of minis they did were nice but their latest generation is very clean, sharp and makes my wallet fight me so much to be able to buy them. Why are there just so many bills to pay?
Watched another weekend, picture quality wasnt the best, but that might be cos I was watching on youtube via the xbox. BUT the weekender was still full of fun, interesting and credible information. I feel like Im stealing because Im not a backstager (yet) and I getting to watch this quality program. Your doing the greatest service to all level of gamers. Im a 37yr old who wants to get back into it all.
Great show. Sound was a little subdued though.
Looking forward to Warrens take on the whole army list structuring in tomorrows XLBS as it has me quite confused. Still preordered it mind 🙂
Those germans look great, too many armies in progress at the moment though.
Heresy is an incredible painter and has a beautiful blog&forum where he explains his awesome techniques (in spanish and english).
http://www.heresybrush.com/
Totally enjoyed weekender, the difference I noticed most was the lighting which seemed a little darker. But other than that I was to affixed on all the exuberance to really notice anything else. Great show.
Thanks for the continued great content BoW!
Happy Weekend… Even if I am working for the whole thing 🙁
It’s funny reading the posts about AoS as someone who has no connection to it either way. Half the people are pissed and half are wetting themselves excited. I’d say that is a success for GW as they’ll clear out the old complaining players to make room for new casuals. And we all know most of those old players will go back to GW like jilted lovers. Well played GW, well played.
I went to the GW website to show my wife the new AoS models – the front page appears with a couple of the new models on it, and my wife says “those ones are space marines, right?”
Really want to like the new rules but left with the feeling that there are better systems out there to spend time on 🙁 …. or I’ll just keep playing 8th 😀
Not a bad show guys . near the start one camera kept changing colour hue
Great show guys, the new format seems to work ok. Popped in to GW store to check out the AoS the minis look great but the Sigmarites do look very Spacemarine. The chaos look better. It’s good that GW have put all their fantasy range and the new rules free to download as PDF on their website. So you can have free war scrolls for all your old units.
I hope you folks have a great time playing AoS, but it’s not for me. I’ll keep my movement trays … and my money.
You guys made it! I’m off to play some Blood Bowl but I’ll be back tomorrow for more news on Age of Sigmar!
Wow awesome paint job… please put my name in the hat…
Not too shabby… 🙂
Great show, really nice teaser trailer.
Demigods looks pretty legit, would love to take it for a spin!
Demigods looks interesting
Looking forward to the eventual live content guys.
Nice looking terrain too
The new Chaos warriors are just asking to be converted into Khorne Berserkers for 40K. Absolutely love the 4Ground stuff.
looks like Infinity might be getting a new player.
too many games, too little time.
Am I really meant to be getting so excited in the pre-show adverts? Roll on Infinity week! 😀
Great looking terrain.
I’m definitely picking up the Age of Sigmar box set. Can’t wait to play it and paint it.
Nice show guys, looked like the live edit stuff worked well. Some slight sound issues and not sure if it was just Nd but the main can shot showing all three of you seemed a little dark for some reason. Really impressed with the quality of the fantasy scenery and the foreground
Adobe stuff but u wanted to use it for dust Babylon stuff and I think the scale is just a little too small.
After all it was a good show and all problems seem solveable for the next time. Good content today, but aus always I wish there would be more Malifaux in the shows…
I hate the Sigmarines but like the OTT Khorne dudes, pity because Im waiting for a Tzeentch release for AoS.
As someone who has never played a Games Workshop game before, the rumors on the Age of Sigmar rules look questionable for a $15US card game. They look terrible for a $70-$100US miniatures game. It seems like Games Workshop is gauging just how much of tolerance their customers have for good miniatures with shoddy rules to prove they are more of a miniatures collectors’ company than a tabletop gaming one. Let’s be honest, if Age of Sigmar was some unknown company running a Kickstarter that posted these rules, would you really pledge for anything more than just the miniatures?
demigods rule.. I want some
I was really worried I won’t be able to get my weekender dose as usual, I like it it’s still good show.
Again another interesting and informative show guys. Have to say that the adobe buildings would sit really well with Wild West Exodus, think the spaghetti westerns or even High Chaparel.
Didn’t have any trouble with the video on my phone. As for Age of Sigma, it looks interesting but I would of liked to see some point values in the warscrolls. Are we just limited to using the lists provided?
Wonderful episode, great start for the weekend.
A few issues with sound volume going up and down… but it general it went very smoothly, so… success!
Like the Sanguinary guard – sorry Sigmarites even down to the rubber rings behind their knees! Think I’ll still wait to sate my fantasy needs with Dungeon Saga.
Nice show.
Had a quick game this morning of AoS and it’s fun, quick and dirty.
The models didn’t look all that big on the table.
The gate is how you get from realm to realm, I think ?
You don’t have to paint them gold, there are different colour schemes in the books.
I played it too and to be honest I loved it. It’s not Warhammer Fantasy Battle, so if you go into it expecting that expect to be disappointed. It’s an entirely new game and the rules actually played quite well. I wouldn’t say it was perfect but then the game I got was only a demo game and I didn’t get to use everything in the box.
That’s really cool pre-painted terrain. Would fit Warhammer Fantasy pretty well…
I know they probably agree with the people on the internet who think if you get rid of WFB and replace with Warhammer: Whatever Lulz that “you’ll get 5 new players for every one you lose!” Which means GW will be going out of business before too terribly long. Oh well.
GW aren’t going anywhere. 40k will pretty much keep them solvent. But to who are you referring when you say “they probably agree”?
Good morning all, nice to see the weekender back 🙂
Demigods does look interesting.
At least AoS will bring some nice terrain out that is something.
I love your Vlog Warren. But the images of the Age of Sigmar just aren’t doing it for me. I was hoping that Chaos was going to grab me and they just didn’t. I agree with Lloyd about the Sigmar Knights, but I do have to say that the flying guy I love.
Weekender time. downside is i have to wait till sunday night to watch. Work all weekend.
I wasn’t expecting much from the AoS rules and still gw managed to disappoint, I’m going to stick to games that have actual rules.
I am jumping on that Infinity army box and I hope Corvus Beli do them for more factions.
exciting times!
Great show as always.
Loving the comments on AoS along the lines of, “No points!! What if one person has twenty dragons and I just have a goblin with a pencil!!! That will be no fun at all!!!”
Well, yeah. Who plays that game?
But what if we just play against people with armies that look like they may be a fun match up? Who spends an evening of their lives doing it differently? That isn’t fun, that is work.
I really like those terrain pieces! Love the Wizards tower!
Not convinvced by AoS at all! Although the mini’s look well sculpted etc the designs seem a bit too ,ugh like space marines etc (like Lloyd said). Seems like they have just stayed with what they know best which is a shame!
Great weekender!
Great episode. Kinda liking all the AoS stuff and cant wait to see what the scenery looks like.
Those Demigods are very cool. BTW, no issues from my point of view on the changed format.
Awsome intro! Corvus Belli does it again!
Very nice intro! I have my white dwarf in hands and will check it out but i’m looking forward to tomorow to see what Warren has to say! I agree that the warriors needed a fur cloak… but the other guys in the box (the fleshreavers) are very nice looking “marauder type” guys, again without fur cloaks but i love them more than the warriors.
See you tomorow!
No idea how this game could play out in a few editions time. Poor or not, the game will be improved upon in a few years, possibly.
But it can’t be emphasised enough, real soldiers fought in units, they rarely just charged at eachother in uneven messes (often if they did, they died). This was always key to every battle, from ancient times to just before WW1.
The video isn’t showing, but if you’ve uploaded it to YouTube, then the reason could be that YouTube is blocked in China.
Age of Sigmar will definitely be interesting. Not sure how no points or unlimited (theoretically) amount of models per unit will play out. How do you balance a game like that? Or is the point not to balance it? Because technically I could take Malekith, Morathai, and a bunch of dread knights on black dragons and that would be my force. At least, that is according to the rules that GW posted today.
And I agree, Chaos Knights and Warriors in Fantasy need to have wolf and bear pelts. Make them look meaner and more rugged.
That said, and I was talking to my brother about this, I wonder if they will finally officially link Fantasy with 40K. The new Chaos Warriors and the Sigmarites smack of 40k Space Marines. Just without guns.
Congratulations guys, not too clunky at all – and some awesome stuff coming to the community. The Demi Gods are truly beautiful models, Foreground are still out doing themselves, and I’ll be interested to learn more about Age of Sigmar. I have to admit I’m not too taken with the models but there will always be other factions to chose from.
Those painted figures look pretty nice.
Wow. The demigods look amazing.
The one thing I hated with the video was cutting to a camera tha warzan wasn’t talking to.
Another fun show, can’t wait until tomorrow’s!
I’m looking for more on Age of Sigmar, but I’d also love the Demigods.
Great show, those buildings look good.
Overwhelming positive response to AoS? What? Where?
Please can I win? Pretty please.
Hitting the home stretch with the Demigods Evolution KS!
AoS is making me get back into GW gaming again. Looks like neat rules and nice minis. I will at least buy a starter…
I played Age of Sigmar today and the rules are actually pretty good; fast and fun. It’s not WFB, so don’t be under any illusions; it’s an entirely different beast. It’s not without issues, and in the long run balance could well be one of them, but having read through the warscrolls, they seem to hang together quite nicely and the Battalion Formations at the back of each one steer you away from fielding all Heroes or monsters. I would advise everyone to have a go at it before criticising it.
I’d be curious if in the future there were some cross compatibility between warhammer fantasy and 40k, as the models are looking so close now, that they could even be using models for each game
Demigods ftw!
That infinity trailer looks great – can’t wait to see the unboxing!
Age of Sigmar? Terminators in golden armour and wings? +1 to hit if you wear a hoodie? Naaah, I’ll pass… However, I saw minis from demo pack in our local shop. Produced with amazing quality!
The Age of Sigmar models really do feel like something straight from 40k. It will be interesting to see how the background reads on these two factions and the models that make them up.
Can’t wait to hear more tomorrow
Demigods looks good.
Age of Sigmar just looks like utter trash. Can’t believe GW killed of WHFB for it.
Good job there plenty of other games companies around to fill the void. Really interested in Kings of War’s new rulebook now.
Very true Tamereth, like the Demigods i.e. 🙂
How about putting magic-sculpt down and stamping in the cobble stone texture?
Great first outing with the new setup fellas.
The paint job on that forge world Imperial Knight is amazing.
Has anybody said anything about the scale creep? These things are huge. The Sigmarines are bigger than SM Termies.
They’re supposed to be bigger. The Chaos stuff is roughly in line with existing Chaos models, only the Stormcast Eternals are bigger. They’re supposed to be, for want of a better term, Battle Angels. They’re about the same size as a Terminator.
after a long week working all over the UK i know the weeked is here when i watch the weekender!.
nice show guys ididnt notice any glitches so good work :).
not liking the look of age of sigmar :'(. Was hoping it would be more mordheim style.
Demi gods are looking awesome and good luck with the cable’s 😛 if you need sprinklers fitting im your man XD.
Who won the Icestorm box sets, randomly selected after commenting on the Infinity boot camp boards?
I saw the how to play videos on the Corvus Belli YouTube page and really enjoyed the way that Warren explained the rules.
The demo games are great, but having these basics explained really helped.
Wayland Games, Element Games and others are already doing Age of Sigmar specials, but I share the same reservations as many others, that the miniatures just aren’t quite what I had hoped for. I will be waiting and hoping that the next range of miniatures tempts me into the Age of Sigmar.
another good looking game.
I think overall it came out fairly well. If your budget allows, you all. If your budget allows, consider picking up a slightly used Tricaster for your live events. 🙂
Well done gents. You handled the live camera shoot really well. A few times not facing the right camera but that should get better with practice. I want that Cathedral so bad! As a 40k player I was thinking those chaos minis from sigmar would be a great addition to a 40k chaos army.
like the new look to the show guys onwards & upwards.
preordered AoS,very excited, love those sculpts.
Not too many bugs to iron out on the new format then. Nice one
I was thinking about give it a try but after seeing models I say no thank you.
– game created by warren and his offspring 😀 yes please, I am dying to try games with mine – so far – ludo, tsuro with home rulse, memory and monsters from wardrobe, zoo domino are our thing fore quality time.
Def not loving age of sigmar. Gw need to try harder than that to win people over. Emotional bank account well overdrawn.
Demigods on the other hand is def looking good
Demigods look amazing very tempted by the gold pledge
Not sure about Age of Sigmar, I think GW may have jumped the shark with this one. Either way looks like Mantics Kings of War might be the go to system for mass fantasy combat. I can’t believe the quality terrain that is available these days. Makes some of the stuff I used in the past look just sad. Great show again guys, looks like you pulled off the new format.
Wow that knight looks amazing! Cant wait to see pictures of these Demigods. Please post some pictures and do not just give them away without us letting us see the goods!
I have to say I have never been that interested in Fantasy before but ended ordering two copies of AoS from my local retailer this morning. A very interesting change in approach from GW removing the barriers to entry (long convoluted rules, expense of buying rules) and allows you to jump straight to the interesting part, building and painting models before play. Regardless of your views you can’t argue that there is a real buzz around this. I can’t remember the last time gamers were this excited about something done by GW or in the main positive about a release. In that sense they have achieved what I think they were seeking, attention and interest. It feels like a very different approach in terms of the attitude of the game. With some of the silly rules having fun is higher up on the agenda than tournament meta. Feels a bit Mantic in its approach…. Wonder where that influence could have come from!
but I started work at 07:00 which means I can’t watch the weekender till I get home most weekends.
Sad Panda times, congrats to winners, can’t wait to see more progress on your laketown, not in love with the name yet
Wow, finally a force for Infinity that I’d buy. Most of the figs looks waaaay too anime for my tastes, but these look nice, even the werewolves. You might actually get me to play with that force.
Hmm, subliminal messages in the new set design…bring back Dreadfleet and Heroquest?
WH: AoS looks nice but not wild about the helms of the Sigmarine: they look like masks rather than helmets. Will any new mini have skin to paint?
For a trial run of the new system, thumbs up!
Probably not. The lore around Stormcast Eternals is that they are the souls of fallen warriors taken by Sigmar and encased in celestial armour etc etc. However… Given the scale of the miniatures, I believe that they are perfectly compatible with Scibor, Maxmini etc etc. Their heads are about the same size as a Space Marine head.
The cracked earth terrain looks good.
Not a fan of those new minis for AoS. In fact, from what I’ve seen, the only thing that interest me about AoS is Warren’s table project.
What a great scenery!
Look forward to see tomorrow xlbs.
Painted Demigods…moo hoo ha ha
BTW the Demigods Evolution game play video shown a week or so ago was great.
I didn’t see any dwarves in the trailer for AoS…and I’m pissed lol.
good work mr live editor! looking forward to your next developments with the show 🙂
Nice job guys. And the new show setup worked well!
Go Demigods!
No comment about GW invalidating everyones WHFB armies? I have to feel for those guys.
Congrats on the first live show. I thought it was great.
I am not one to start on the GW price bashing, and honestly this does hold some appeal to me. However, $200.00AU is a pretty hefty price to pay to weigh into a new – unknown. I think, personally I am going to hold out for a while and see what other releases are to follow before I pony up that kind of cash for a new game.
definitely looking forward to these awesome looking minis.
demigods, that is
Trolls…Trolls and Keyboard Warriors everywhere.
I had a chance to play and watch a few games of Age of Sigmar and it’s got an elegance to its simplicity. Each game had different challenges due to army size, unit selection, and the whole aspect of decided when to stop placing models based on how effective you think they are, and hoping to outwit your opponent for first turn, etc. Some things seem very out of balance at first, but when you add in Sudden Death, it does help counter that somewhat. I haven’t thrown away my 8th edition though, as that will probably still be strong among my gaming friends, but having Age of Sigmar as an alternative game that’s very easy to learn and start playing right away really is nice. It’s also handy for introducing new players, since it’s so easy to learn, and it has a low entry point for model count.
I’m also a huge fan of the miniatures in the starter. The sigmarites will make excellent donor models for 40K marine armies, especially Sanguinary Guard, as mentioned, Chaplains, and Custodes. And the Chaos models will suit Khornate armies really well with the warriors being really nice Berzerker models, and the barbarian norscan raider models making decent cultists of khorne.
That infinity video was wonderful what a piece of gaming goodness, also that terrain simply lovely.
The Demigods look interesting and I am curious if AoS will invigorate Warhammer (Fantasy) after the many years of decline.
I’ve preordered a copy to test it…
Demigods look great I am glad I backed this.
Demigodtastic
Happy Birthday Beasts Of War
Demigods looks cool.
These are stunning minis!
the new system seems to work, although you do need to remember which camera your looking in 😉
Just ordered my copy of Age of Sigma. Never played any GW wargames but this one caught my attention. I much more into historical wargames but I need a game to play with the 4ground fable building set.
I thing the new form of recording worked rather well, I certainly didn’t feel like watching a different show.
yes please
So glad i backed the Demigods kickstarter!
Demi Gods looks great.
Age of Sigmar I like the look and had a little demo game of it, I actually enjoyed the simple mechanics to it, I think you might have to look at it as it’s not fantasy it’s a completely new separate game so comparing to fantasy just won’t work. I have to say though not a fan of the chaos force but I have never liked the chaos forces.
i have to agree with Lloyd and Justin the new models do not appeal to me at all and the new faction these sigmarines well they are a lost opportunity to really wow.
i walked around Salute this year and my Jaw ached from the wows that many new figures for games simply demanded there was a plethora of new ideas talent and sculpts and as a painter they had my mind racing with ideas and made me want to get them and paint them and i came away excited.
GW on the other hand just seem to have missed the boat. yes this comment will probably get scathing remarks but at least before there was a clear distinguishable line between fantasy and 40k. here now you could take any of the new figures swap weapons for power sword or bolter and field them in 40K, there simply not fantasy for me and too unimaginative.
me i was hoping for much more from such a prestigious company with the talent it has, than a rehash of parts and styles of existing models all slammed together. Maybe the other races when done will be different im hoping so, but so far for me at least there are no tingles or desire to get them.
I can’t live without Demigods 🙁
Demi God looks pretty cool
Cool beans, on the topic of AoS when are you guys going to do a KoW week for 2nd ed. That is something to really get excited about 😀
New Infinity stuff looks sexy. Werewolves ftw
Yay Demigods!
Great show!
Looking forward to trying AoS. Hope it ain’t as bad as people are thinking
those figures are gorgeous definitely going to be looking into this
I think Kings of War is the way to go!
i backed demigods first time around. Decided against spending more just to resin up.
Used to play Fantasy a couple of editions ago. Strongly considering Age of Sigmar as a returning point. There is an elegance in the rules and most of my issues were solved when the legacy war scrolls were released recently. Still a bit hesitant on the lack of points to ‘balance’ forces, but will have to try it on the table to see about that.
Like all GW games you need to have a conversation with your opponent to start. I’ve played to a number of warscrolls and wounds as well as anything goes using the sudden death objectives. The best games are when we’ve decided to use our own force org; one commander, one wizard, one hero, one monster two units seems to be the sweet spot. That’s just existing armies too. No idea how the new stuff will play yet.
I suppose it’s up to testing it now. And we’ll see what we’ll get with the 10th errata 🙂
Good show as always guys
Looks good. Resolution was not up to par. Im watching on safari 🙂
I love the old school-looking design with the Age of Sigmar rules and boxes. The minis out so far are just not for me.
Well done with the new tecnology 🙂 have a lovely week
Can I win this one?
Awesome content love the new editing on the fly hope it works so far so good.
And the Demi Gods game looks awesome!
It looks pretty good, the brightness changes a little more than it use to.
Great show !!
I’m actually somewhat interested in Age of Sigmar.
Played all day Saturday. Very fun casual game using the starter rules. Looking forward to the start of the campaign and the add on rules. More narrative games and structured army builds will be great.
The Demigods miniatures look really nice too bad I’m already doing two Kickstarters and really can’t afford a third so winning the comp would be awesome but I’m not all that lucky so I’d like to pre-congratulate the winner
Nice video on the Demigod game, it helped me decide to pledge. I do wonder if it would be too chaotic when you have 4 players. The board seems somewhat small.
Another great show gents. Keep the variety going!
I love the look of the Simar nights, but agree that the Khorn figures need furs.
Age of Sigmar doesn’t look fantasy at all to me. Hoping the other armies will bring some grittyness and more fantasy style, than the godly feel the box set provides. I am excited as hell for the game though. Cant wait to try it out!
Well the thing that I wanted to hear/see was the AoS stuff but I found that I was much more impressed with just about everything else in this episode. The terrain looks great, glad to see the paper stuff from 4Ground is better than I might have thought, and versatile. The trailer and the look at the Infinity pre-order stuff makes me think about starting that instead.
Thanks again guys for a look at new stuff.
BTW: Your live edited show seemed to go fine:)
They look really awesome… I feel the urge to get some;)
Beautiful and tactical, all we need
I was looking forward to a more simple version of Warhammer and was excited to maybe getting into the game. But I think they have made it TOO simple. I mean, a four pages long rulebook…
Core is only four, some of the Armies like Chaos warriors is another thirty with unit specific rules. And they are saying more rules (formations) and scenarios are coming.nreally no different at the moment then Warmachine quick start rules which are also four pages.
All in all, AoS remains an interesting move from GW. What will emerge from this still remains to be discovered in the year to come though…
I’m not a fan of the new AoS minis. Too manga for my tastes. But I do appreciate GW’s new take on the game as the courage they show.
“puny God !!”
I don’t really like the Sig Marines either. The models are nice from a technical viewpoint, but I just can’t see them fitting in a Warhammer Fantasy type game. The earlier teaser list with the multicultural characters was a lot more exciting. I might still have a look at the game, but I won’t be buing new minis for it.
Instead I just pitched in on the Demigods Evolution kickstarter. Now those are some nice minis. Can’t wait to paint these. Although I also wouldn’t mind to get some ‘pro painted’ models. 🙂
The new show format seems to work quite nicely. There does seem to be an issue sometimes with sound levels and clarity.
Oh yeah, I want a prize!!!
I think the AOS beta looks really promising. A bit of work and it will be ideal…
…What? It’s not a beta?
Aside from that, I’d love me some Demigods. Noice.
My friends and I are going to try out Infinity for the first time next weekend. It would be cool to win the starter set to make the introduction that much more awesome!
Winning a starter set is always a good incentive to start the game 🙂
I would love one. My game club is looking to start playing this game shoud be fun
Enjoyed the episode. But don’t enjoy Age of Sigmar. I think its utterly terrible. The minis, the skirmish idea and the rules. The rules are just a joke, GW didn’t put any effort into this. I think it doesn’t even qualify as a beer and bretzels game anymore. Kings of War, here I come!
Nice looking stuff. We are trying out Age of Sigmar today at home and seeing how it plays.
Painted Demigods Evolution? Yes, please! ^^ If what I just read on BoLS is true, a bigger rulebook will be coming which might the game more interesting. I’ll try it out either way but army comp is a must in some way imho.
Very Nice!! count me in!
Darn, they look spiffy. I want them more then is good for me. So I’ll focus on the terrain. Third style, yay!
Great show guys. For Lloyd’s skulls issue with the gaming boards, green stuff makes miracles on it 😉 one of my friend actually used sand paper and then greenstuffed where the skulls were and now it’s really playable
Very nice looking
enjoyed the video.
10 mins to go!
I’m very stoked for the new Infinity stuff. The Demigods game is also incredibly appealing. Age of Sigmar is hit or miss with me. I never got into WFB only 40k. The simplified rules are appealing but a lot of people I know are not happy about the new game.
It would be nice to have someone in the studio with Warren that has played a lot of different skirmish games so that we would have something to compare Age of Sigmar with. If you only ever played Fantasy and 40k AoS seems very interesting and new but if you compare It to Open combat or SAGA it falls very flat.
The miniatures are really well done, to close to 40k universe for my taste, but really well made. Perhaps GW should just stick to producing the best miniatures for sci-fi, fantasy and even historical games. That way others can produce more interesting and balanced rules filled with lots of scenarios and challenges. That way, we the gamers, could have the best of both worlds and not just the choice between 40k or Fantasy Down at the local club.
At the risk of not winning a prize, Warren.
The 4Gound building looks very little like Bin Laden’s compound in Pakistan.
Far too small, too old, not made of concrete.
Great model, made on myself, but this is not THAT compound.
These figs look great, and would love them fully painted. 🙂
Demigods Please, I can always use another beautifully paint miniature’s game.
I admit I am commenting here only because I want those demigods. Or any other BoW freebies and prizes, of course.
Great show guys, not sure about the new sigmarines
this logs amazing
Hello,
as usual I finally have some time to catch up on the BoW. I like the new terrain a lot and congratulations to the winners. I do not have the time to dig through all the comments so sorry if I repeat someone’s thoughts on this but I do agree with the guys that the Age of Sigmar miniatures are looking very 40k (splendid models in my opinion). As for the days before the what we know as the Old World… another similarity to the 40k universe and the Emperor conquering/uniting Earth with his Thunder Warriors… heh.
Demigods !!!
all those look realy good…..i couldn’t chose one…..***** rating
The Demigods minis are fantastic.
Age of Sigmar sounds … strange
Age of Sigmar sounds like a good ruleset for newbies. I don’t like the spacemarine look of the figures. Hope they bring out better looking armies soon.
Too true. Maybe they want to join their two games
Demigods, what!
Someone needs to paint that Sigmarite as He-Man riding Battle Cat.
Painting my WD Liberator right now, they are really fun to paint!
Too bad Demigods fukked up the timeline and than downgraded base pack and moved good stuff to another k$ costing another 50-100$ but well… I still want to play it even if it lost some quality on looks.
Demigods look awesome!
Glad the video could be made
If I can’t get to be a god, I hope I’ll win some demigods 🙂
