August 8, 2025 by crew
It's OTTWeekender time! If you're looking for an alternative Bolt Action army, look no further than Medbury Miniatures and their new range of 28mm scale World War II Australian Infantry!
This set of Australian Infantry from World War II has been designed to work with the New Guinea campaign from 1942 but they could be perfect for any 28mm scale Historical Commonwealth army that was fighting in the Pacific theatre during World War II.

I’m looking forward to the new D&D Starters. The only thing I wish they’d share is how many levels the game supports. Hopefully the team will answer all my questions today 😉
I had a scout about but there was no word on how many levels it caters for. Someone pointed out it features a CR4 Red Dragon Wyrmling so you’ll no doubt be going up a couple of levels through the Adventure Books I’d say.
Friday! Huzzah!
Want to do an Aussie army. My grandfather fought alongside them in New Guinea. His platoon was one of the few American units that fought along the kokoda track. He said the Australians were tough as nails and good fighters with far looser discipline than the US Army.
Some really good stuff this week.
Was late to the show , was Listening to Yarshire gamers tribute to Charlie Wesencraft but Nice show gents.
28mm Victorian Warfare: Sidney “Dirty Laugh” Cohen
Is this the one or this
GiM056 – SIR SID – North Star Military Figures
it was northstars in my head
Yay it’s weekender time folk’s 👍
D&D? You surprise me. Still, a bit pricey for a D&D starter set. Dragonbane will start you off at £4.49. You do, however, have the most positive review that I’ve seen.
I think it’ll be well worth diving into if you want to get folks into D&D – Free League/Cubicle still have some of the best out there but it’s a step in the right direction.
Good show guy’s 👍
I preordered the Russian troops and Katyusha track the day they were announced . Pity there’s no seated Ivans with the regular Studebaker truck release as Russia got most of the production run . Might have to get some of those Aussie troops to go with my late war kit bashed Warlord Lee
Nice one – laying the ground work for some good Soviet wargaming
I heard there was a game attached to these figures , I don’t play . I just build toy soldiers & tank kits . How many points and how big a table would I need to field about 40 T-34s ?
I see they have Roman era as well for On bloody grounds, I will have to go check it out.
Yeah, I’ve already got the English Civil War and Dark Ages one in my sights
Google AI. If they can’t be arsed writing it, I certainly can’t be arsed reading it.
Oh man those Aussies!! Love em.
They are super cool – so much detail and should be expanding!
I’ve long had an idea for a Sean bean movie.
Sean Bean becomes self aware. Realizing it’s his job to die to further the lives and stories of other, only to get reborn repeatedly thought time and the multiverse, just to die again, never once having a life and story of his own, he turns in to a supervillain. A ragtag band of heroes is gathered from across the multiverse in to a suicide squad. The only ones who can defeat Sean Bean? Every character he’s ever played on TV or in a movie, yanked from their timeline 1 second before death. Refuse to help and be returned to die immediately. Help, and you’ll probably die, but you’ll get more time alive, at the least. Sean bean, of course, reprises every role he’s ever played in this movie, although I imagine we can find room for one or two non Sean Bean actors.
I feel like this needs to be made as soon as possible
BTW Gerry when might we see a GZG edition of Indie of the week happening, been awaiting that one appearing for a while now. They are still putting out new stuff all the time, and many of us might not have visited the website in a long time and not know about all the new “shiniest stuff” that are available in 15mm.
