It’s the XLBS Show..,…….Happy Sunday Fellow CoGs!
Ohh, I like the theme of the show “STORAGE SOLUTIONS”. I DO have a bit of a problem there. Looking forward to hearing of the possible solutions.
In answer to the question, “would you be up for an awesome and large-scale train robbery scenario set in Dead Man’s Han”? Yes p!ease!!! 🤠👍 I have some MDF train pieces from 4Ground that I have been planning to use with my Dead Man’s Hand’ tables, so lead on mighty @avernos
Congrats to the Golden Button Receivers!

I know you asked about this…but I can’t work out where so I’m answering here
Thanks @avernos 🤓👍
I have placed an order for those agent!
Ya Baby YA!
have yet to watch the xlbs, but for storage solutions may i suggest watching the greatest movie ever made for inspiration.
wino’s fit neatly into open graves
the only regret to have is that you have only one life to give
I hope if i ever order from Ontabletop.com, i get a huge dump from John in my package.
fyi, i love german scat porn
One Crispin, one cup
Tangent, nothing to do with gaming, just that if you get a buttplug plus the willing equals one hell of a good time
😀
I will quote Khan Noonien Singh ” He tasks me. He tasks me and I shall have him!” i guess i should add a time too this 50:42
Happy Sunday!
Let’s just hope Dan Brown isn’t watching this week’s episode.
Wouldn’t adding whiskers to bunnies be a bit close to adding ‘rigging’.
It shouldn’t be the law of odds, it should be the Fibonnaci sequence (aka Nature’s law) 1, 1, 2, 3, 5… and so on, which happens to contain the first three odd numbers with a 2. You’re unlikely to be putting more than 5 of something on a base, but if you do it continues … 8, 13, 21, 34… (That’s a big base!).
What is it with page one ‘denial of service’ posters – aren’t they aware of the edit function?
Or the self-reply function?

Ooooh
Also, if you want the train set experience, Sid Meyer’s Railroads is a very laid back and relaxing railroad building game, successor to the Railroad Tycoon games. Love that game.

And I heartily second grimwolfuk’s suggestion Train Simulator.
I will have a look – thanks for the suggestions.
Hey happy Sunday all. Had a sort out in the spare room yesterday so now have room for a good desk with lots of storage so todays show is spot on for me. Been looking at hairdressers stacked trays for my paints, they slide out, but I think I’m going to go with Bens plastic store box idea for project. Luckily I live in a small cottage type house they were given walk in wardrobes with sliding doors in my hobby / spare room so that helps. Thing is I’m a board gamer as well so boxes like twilight imperium takes up a lot of space. I’ve put a three shelf bookcase in wardrobe but yeah space is a swiftly diminishing prospect. Warp miniatures added a foam insert to the Battle of Troll Bridge boxed set that fits well and I’m sure there’s instructions on how to cut and fit, good quality foam too. I appreciated that and hadn’t seen it done before. I love the cantilever token trays Gerry shared, I know Eclipses 2nd Ed. went with a box for each player that is incorporated into the play as tracker and such but with something gigantic like twilight imperium I agree with Free there will always be bits you missed that the hoover wouldn’t.
Where is Gerry’s Phoenix model from please, also 5 Parsecs rules are in my opinion better than Stargrave
Who makes the Really Useful box foams?
it’s Mantic Game’s Fire Chicken for Kings of War, I’ve done an unboxing if you search you can find it in more detail. lovely kit minimal clean up
One flame grilled chicken https://m.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=129&v=MNGfd3CTH30&feature=emb_logo
Cheers guys…
Thanks for the Golden Button @brennon The Skull Swords are finished and will be posted later today probably. Pretty much just Speedpaints, hardly any highlights or drybrusing, and my first go using NMM. I’m having a blast 🙂
Looking great chap!
I just counted 73 Rubs in the garage of various sizes for scenery, minis, and basing materials. I get one every month and it immediately gets filled although I don’t understand how
Lifetime ambition achieved – I have something Gerry doesn’t own! Good luck ordering from Monolith @avernos . Steve’s a great guy but it is very much a side hussle and service is patchy at best. The Pictish runestones are Scotia Grendel:

I’ve been after Fogou to make one since he made the beehives, I think I’m close to breaking him
I’d definitely get one if he does. He’s got a new Kickstarter on next week too. Very exciting.
yeah waiting on that for more barrows and walls
@brennon This train game looks relaxing: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1766740/ChooChoo_Charles/
Yay it’s a rabid arcana Tomas.
By The Gods…
Hmm… how to make storage easier. Time to dig into the Internet
I understand the avoiding of making deadzone terrain. Mine hasn’t made it out of the bag yet.
If I build it I’ll have to to paint the bloody things. Its hard enough painting the rats
Is there some in the studio? A few live plays would be good
Thoughts Mr @avernos?
I have some yes
Happy Sunday!
00:00 No regerds!
00:30 We still have chocolate!
03:00 Is this the birth of a new religion?
05:50 Ben starts to get to Warren levels here
12:20 FOGOOOU!
16:00 Editor? I’m getting seasick XD
16:30 did you hear Tetris music while doing it Gerry? 😉
18:00 “With love, John”
18:50 Cheap brushes for the win!
20:00 Is Deadzone terrain horribly different to others?
20:42 Of course the servitors do that. But may I quote Fallout 4s Codsworth: “Two centuries with no one to talk to, no one to serve. I spent the first ten years trying to keep the floors waxed, but nothing gets out nuclear fallout from vinyl wood. Nothing! And don’t get me started about the futility of dusting a collapsed house. And the car! The car! How do you polish rust?”
24:30 You could let them use one or two minis for The One Ring 😉
27:00 Techmoan! Yeah! https://store.steampowered.com/app/24010/Train_Simulator_Classic/
31:00 No thorn pattern? NO!
34:45 “Had been a few weeks…” G’Wullus release cycle for Spaz Manines.
35:30 Almost a pause again Ben… nearly clipped that @brennon
40:00 Next time you’re in Germany, give me a heads up… so I can hide 😉
41:15 Sudden drop of audio… please repeat… wankers
46:00 That’s almost a bad thing like what the other RPG did…
47:30 KITTY!
48:05 CHAOS!
48:45 WE DEMAND KITTY CONTENT! @fcostin
51:11 Highlight? That’s more of a shade
56:30 I wonder how the effect looks once you start changing camera angle?
56:45 again weird audio drop outs…. cunts… *g*
58:30 Shame! Shame! Shame!
1:00:00 “mentally organized”? oO
1:02:00 “Who wants to kick of?” *all panic*
1:08:00 I’m not saying that I have many Haribo boxes… but I have some… maybe
1:12:00 Really useful boxes… a rare case where the product lives up to its name
1:16:20 Hold up! Using board game meeples in a game they don’t came from? HERESY!
1:19:44 Those shoes hangers I have tried. They don’t work. Not for what you want to use them for. They start to sag badly. Even when used only with shoes. @avernos
1:23:00 Haribo boxes. A lot of them. And anything rectangular that can hold some foam.
1:25:00 Wrong rules? Just call them Home Brew
And actually there is no solution. The only way to get a good storage solution would be to stop buying stuff. At that point you can organize. The second you get more stuff your back at square one.
Storage ?
I think we will solve that problem once we can make things bigger on the inside 😉
One never has enough storage, because the moment you buy it you’ve already got more than enouhg plans to fill them and even if you don’t (have such plans) things will take up more storage than you expect.
On storage. Like many I have a set of Bisley A4 drawers – mine sits under the painting desk holding the
stuff I’ve forgotten aboutprojects ready in the painting queue. My top tip is plan chests. They are chests of very wide drawers for architects to put building plans in. I have two which hold up an 8’x4′ mdf sheet which is my gaming table. They have six drawers in each and hold about 500 28mm minis on sabot/movement trays per drawer. Needless to say both of mine are absolutely stuffed #Idonthaveaproblem #IcanstopanytimeIwant #shinysyndrome
I picked up some collapseable boxes from IKEA and discovered the foam inserts fit perfectly in them. Which is quite a cheap solution.
Wow, I got a golden button, and congrats to the other two winners. I’ve already ordered and received some of those Scotia Grendel stones shown in @zoidpinhead‘s Sláine project for my own.
I have a miniature that Gerry doesn’t have, or maybe doesn’t know he has 😆
Tech Moan is a great channel.
For miniature storage I go the traditional route and use miniature cases. My main goto is KR cases, the cardboard ones with foam inserts. Cheap and cheerful, and the cardboard is sturdy enough for house storage, although I do have a big selection of old GW & Figures in Comfort cases for travel.
For terrain I have a variety of Really Useful boxes, clip and seal foot tubs, and big generic plastic tubs.
A good topic.
Alright Beasts, good show.
I used KR multicase foam for my metal Infinity stuff. For other things I use Really Useful boxes with a metal sheet velcroed in. I prefer metal over magnetic sheets as the connection is stronger. I when I need new metal sheets I usually check online metal merchants who’ll cut a sheet for you. I use the spare bits for attaching minis for bulk painting.
I velcro the sheets as the boxes have a slight flex; enough to cause hot glue to split. Strong velcro will reattach.
Hi XLBS COGz.
