It's OTTWeekender time! In this week's show, we have a chat about the new Kroot coming out this weekend for pre-order and how they're actually perfect to be converted for use in some Fantasy wargames! The new Kroot look awesome and could be turned into a great alternative Fantasy army for use in Warhammer games and beyond.
Lloyd was certainly right that you could get some good conversions together and turn those Sci-Fi weapons into black powder ones from an ancient period of time.

I’ve just received a few Age of Sigmar figures. I’m interested to see what the new edition brings.
It will be very interesting. I have been playing for a few months now and really enjoy the mechanics. I am starting to really enjoy the fluff as well

I thought Kroot evolved depending on what they ate. So if they’re eating more humans surely they’re going to look more humanoid.

Just recently gotten into 40k. The Kroot don’t make a ton of sense to me aesthetically compared to the rest of the Tau. Fantasy definitely seems a better fit
I think it would be great to see Lloyd/Warren’s idea turn into something interesting, looking at it from a black powder perspective

Love the idea of the sumorai and even have a few that could fit into that style.
The Kroot are nice, but for me they definitely fit into a fantast game more or perhaps for Frostgrave or Xenos Rampart.
The new edition of Age of Sigmar is definitely tempting me just for the potential of new minis for Skaven and will almost certainly end up getting it.
They should have called it the Hoot Krunting Pack – really emphasise their bird-like nature!
I wonder what Sigmar ends up lying about.

When the Tau and Kroot came out, way back then, I fell in love with the army. Two very distinctive “factions” but that, somehow, worked together nicely. To use Kroot as a WHFB army would be awesome! A great idea!
Hopefully this ends up spurring on some new projects!
I agree that the new kroot look less alien and more like humans in rubber suits, I think mostly due to the pose. However I also think mixed in with my old kroot as maybe a quarter of the models it will give a nice variety in posing while keeping the classic look overall.

Skaven have got to be one of the oldest models in the AoS range at the moment …
Not sure how they’d fit within the setting, but must admit that I’d love to see what GW could do for them.
Warren they did introduce the Irish diet to the Japanese, but they came up with saski.

Kroot is awesome … looking. But I gots too many other cool minis to paint, so its a pass. Of KS and Gamefound stuff.. I hope you will also spotlight the new Dungeon and Lasers Gamefound project.. omg … the fact they are doing prepainted sprues? … Could be a game changer. Love the fact that I can now of a prepainted cavern at a decent price point.
For Guards of traitor’s Toll … would definatly use Dunkledorf minis … so filled with character.
