FÖRSTER!
I’m really happy to see Boot Hill getting a walk through, they are simply lovely. Currently putting together a filibuster force via Boot Hill and foundry’s old west range. You’ll get some lovely Mexican fusiliers from Artizens Alamo and North Star ‘musket and tomahawk range’ but Boot Hill are simply incredible in the correct detail and personalities. I will likely end up with the full range. Anyone interested in the Alamo I suggest the book ‘Texian Illyad’ by Stephen Hardin and for the later Filibuster of William Walker ‘the grey eyed man of destiny’ try ‘Tycoon war’ by Stephen Collins. Also for a crazy adventure try ‘the last emperor of Mexico’ by Edward shawcross, or even look Narcio lopez and his invasions of Cuba ‘fatal glory’ – you won’t be disappointed. I hope Boot Hill go from strength to strength.
thanks for the info I can’t wait to see your project
Thank you, sorry I get carried away and really love this pre civil war antiBellum period. Really recommend Texian illiad and Tycoon war, they are great reads. I’m hoping to make a start tomorrow, after I browse the First Corps Mexican war range, require more Peons. Wishing you all a great weekend. See you all Sunday ?
I think Old Glory did a massive Alamo terrain set
And ‘a hunting I do go’ many thanks will go surf the web and track that down. Much appreciated ?
Its early today.
Evening all! A great weekend for miniatures painting me thinks? ?
A mighty fine indie
it’s the Mariachi isn’t it
100%
The new bolt action set has me tempted…
great weekender!!
i would realy like the bolt action starter. Bolt action is still on my ‘i am getting older and need the play a grown-up wargame-list”
I’m in on the Trench wotsit and I’m loving all the sculpting updates. I’ve absolutely no talent in sculpting but I’m still enjoying it.
Hi weekenders just seeing the show now.
I could see a three bandietos game with the Mexican figures?
Yes Ben, I’m with you for the first Law RPG.
Lets write it ourselves and get bribe Joe into stickin his stamp on it.
2, 3, 7, 8, 12, 15… don’t ask – just need to remember…
… oh it’s the Weekend!
Ooh Privateer Press starting a clone factory for their miniatures.
It’s Official…….the WEEKENDER is released among us!
Love the new ‘Operation BLACKWIND’ from Corvus Belli….. I always like to think that their August release is timed just for my birthday month! Wonderful stuff. ??
Love the ‘Boothill Miniatures’. I’ve been to the real Boothill, (in Dodge City Kansas), many times. Of course there are other Boothill out there in the old west but the one in Dodge is the most famous.
Love the Warmachine Universe’. I’m not keen on replacing all my five Warmachine Armies. So I’ll watch what happens and buy the new rulebook book, (if they print one and it’s not just electronic). I’m eager to watch this release as it come to shape.
With regard to ‘5e’ versions of other games……I believe far to many games/IPs are cheapening themselves by making a version of themselves in the 5e universe. Also, keep in mind WotC is planning version 5.5e coming out soon. So if games are converting to 5e because they want their IP in a familiar format for RPG users their going to be chasing the tail forever. ***** There are soooo many great RPGs out there that are much different then 5e. Don’t be a ‘sheeple’ and play what everyone else is just because your told it is popular.
Ok…….I’m getting down off my soapbox now.

(I have to say I’m surprised to see Kickstarters talked about this week in light of the bombshell dropped earlier this week………would have thought the show would have skipped that part)
That’s just some of them new Wimpy houses the werewolf’s standing on?
I order some minis from boothill today for my alamo project and here they are again. Great stuff
I was thinking about you 😉
Well that sounded creepy in my notifications
the trench crusade has a mutant chronicles vibe to them I think.
a fab show guys.
Happy weekend get ready for the GREATEST MOVIE EVER MADE
Those Highland minatures look ?
The Texas War of Independence got started due to a change the Mexican constitution of 1824. Some Texas flags were the Mexican tricolors with 1824 emblazoned on them. That’s in addition to the Goliad flag (bloody sword and arm), the Gonzalez flag (Come and take it). One of the changes to the Mexican constitution had been the elimination of slavery but there were others too. The Texicans (pronounced Tex-E- Cans) we’re the Anglo defenders and the Tejanos (prounounced Tay-Han-Os) we’re the Hispanics.
I have a dream, that one day Gerry and Free will play a game of Malifaux on the site 🙂 What do I need to do to make it happen?
we too have that dream
Can Warmachine crawl back from the dead with a new release ?
It’s been ages since any news from that gamesystem/company was posted and they used to be pretty visible.
I mean I’ve never played it, but I know it’s one of the systems that is in the same sort of market as AoS/40k (high fantasy skirmish).
Covid really must have hurt them … but it’s good to see them getting back as more competition is always good.
I really hope this is the start of a new era for Privateer Press and that Mk4 lands well and is successful.
been printing off the Highland Dwarves minis, wanted a dwarf army for ages, but couldnt find an aesthetic i liked, (except the Avatars of War ones which are expensive and rarely in stock), so as soon as I saw these it was an instant sign up…might actually keep my patreon going for these guys as they do a lot of cool stuff
Oh plastic Samurai coming? I spent all that money on metal samurai from the Perry twins, except they didn’t have horse archers, and I had to go searching for Samurai on horseback, with Yume. I hope the ones I found fit okay. I did find the Warlord plastic box which could have done all my cavalry after, a shame.
I’m a big fan of Warmachine and I’m interested to see where it goes. I do have huge fears that they’re basically making us all rebuy our armies again. I also have concerns about the roll out. Im a hordes player and we won’t get any real Mk4 stuf for at least 18 months. Are we all supposed to buy temporary armies, or stay excluded from “Prime” games and events until they actually get to us. I also have a feeling some of the new rules are edging the game towards being 40k. PP have alwasy done right by the game and they players, so I’m more than happy to give them the benefit for the doubt until we can really see what the game becomes.
I love the new bolt action set. But I haven’t ordered ain’t thing since the brexit from the U.K.
Not all left handed people are evil… I mean I am but that’s by the by!
Favourite Samurai… Rabbit!
Great show as always, thank you. Another winner found with Highland. I love Kislevites and was thinking about looking for some to print once I’m done with the 2mm and you have delivered. It’s like you can read my mind!
Great episode as always. Warmachine has me cautiously excited. I was seriously bitten with the Mark 3 launch as a Skorne player (PP eventually re-did the whole army rules). I definitely will not be buying in for the launch. I will just wait a year before I make a decision and see how things are doing.
Late visit this time, but at least i’m not covid positive any more
Might have to pick up that new box set for Bolt Action, North Africa is about the only theatre I don’t currently have something for. Looks like a good place to start.
I do think the set could have done with more terrain … but then Warlord always tends to focus on minis, so it’s no real surprise. Technically I’ve already got an army (from the BoW Bol-Action tDesert War bootcamp) in storage, but more is more right ? 😉
The new vehicles are exactly the kind that fit a game at that scale. Tanks always feel a bit weird, especially the bigger ones. So tempted, but sanity must prevail as I got too many ideas already.
I’m sold on the Chaos Legionnaires. Completely agree with Ben and Justin on the look.
Where is the Tank Boy, Johno, needs to be added to the credits, add John now.
Be interested to get a new look at the Warmachine rules, as the game and it’s lore has always intrigued me. Game was very popular a few years back, but then seemed to disappear. Glad to see they never went away and are back strong War Jack Strong!
Those plastic monks that fireforge are planning look great; especially with all the equipment options.
They could go a long way in Clash of Katanas.
darn tootin’
I’d forgotten about Boothill rpg….
He did find the rules and we had a crackin game, thanks Gerry @avernos and thanks for the kickin
we did have a great game of Bot Wars, great fun. sorry Paul 😉
Highlands Miniatures making me glad I don’t have a 3D printer.
I have to pick and choose smaller amounts of things for printing through friends so it keeps me in check!
Happy mid-week!
Really starting to love Wargames Atlantic! I have a few things from them and i’ll be adding those bugs for sure!
Can’t wait to see what GenCon brings us!
Thanks for the show
Amazing indie of the week brings back a lot of memories of watching the old Alamo movie as a kid.
Doesn’t matter if a company’s miniatures are any better than GW’s than a company’s RPG is better than D&D. There’s a *lot* more to an industry than the product, such as marketing, user base, supporting product lines, etc.
