WHY DONT YOU LOVE ME?! and if you do, please kindly send over that starter set……haha
Super excited about this episode of the weekender. I need it after the week I’ve had. Would be cool to win the starter also. Have a great weekend
I look forward to the Weekender every week. Its my chance to sit down for an hour or two and let my Tabletop Wargaming geek flag fly high. Its been rough not being able to get together with my regular gamers and blow up some little army men. I hope you are all doing well and we can get back to gaming and conventions soon.
GIB PRIZE NOW!
Frostgrave terrain trailer is great, looking forward to the product.
Just painting my first space marine in 20 years, so if I had some more I’d paint some more.
Yep, just ordered a start collecting box. Going to create my own chapter colour scheme 🙂
That is the only reason i could see myself getting back to 40k, creating the whole back story and painting my own scheme.
Happy weekend all.
A weekend of unboxing, priming and building awaits.
The Frostgrave terrain looks awesome. Box set is nice.
Would love a new ork army using the kromlech bits
Another sweet prize that won’t have my name attached to it… /cry.
Happy weekend everyone
Always a good watch
Now that’s an epic hair cut. Worthy of any action man
As much as I’d love to get my hands on those Orks, I’m even more excited about Frostgrave 2 and the Kromlech terrain.
would love to win this my girlfriend is slowly getting into the hobby so would be good to have a second game we can play.
Always burn your hair after cutting it or it can be used to weave curses against you
Yay for the Weekender! Frostgrave terrain from Kromlech looks ace, but I’ll get my Battlesystems kickstarter with snow roofs and already have a bunch of wintery 4ground ruins. If I hadn’t, these would be on my list!
I want to win a prize!
It’s the Weekend again!
Shame GW are ramping up the releases again, I enjoyed the news more when they barely got a mention! 😉
Hi Hi peoples happy weekender.
Blue Moon/Old Glory do a lovely Horror range in 15mm
https://www.oldglory25s.com/index.php?cat_id=1069&catname=%27FIGURES%27
I love old glory
Woot woot weekender!
Like the look of the space wolves.
Space wolves looking cool! Where are the competition winners posted each week? This is my first time here, can’t find the info anywhere. Cheers!
hello, welcome to the site.
on the left of the search bar is a More tab with a drop down, look at Claim a Prize and the winners are listed in there.
Got it!! Thank you!!
the new kromlech terrain looks fab.
Happy Weekender all. I went to see Jeff Wayne’s War of the Worlds live in Cardiff few years ago. Full orchestra, giant screen with lazer strobes, smoke, animation using the original art work from that amazing sleeve insert from the vinyl record AND a floating 3D holographic head of Richard Burton doing his narration – It was the beginning of the rout of humanity the massacre of mankind’….It’s a brilliant show really enjoyed Recommend if it ever heads your way.
The ship was the steam ram HMS Thunder Child. Osprey did a book of the Martian invasion when they started the dark osprey series ?
It’s the Weekender! Thank God!
This week has taken forever to grind through.
I’m ready for nothing but hobby and large amounts of slow smoked meat to chew on.
I’m looking forward to 9th Edition 40k. This week’s prizes look pretty tasty!
I was not aware of Frostgrave getting a second edition. Has OTT ever done a ‘Let’s Play’ for Frostgrave First Edition?
So I just got a chance to show my wife this episode of the Weekender.
When she saw the news about ‘Star Wars: Xwing’ SOLO Rules, she asked me if those rules would work for those of us that never bought into the 2.0 system? Has anyone here tried them with 1.0 Xwing? (I’d forgot that she had enjoyed Xwing before 2.0 came out).
On the subject of Warhammer 40k……
Does GW sell a complete paint collection set?
I’ve seen a complete Contrast Collection but is there a complete set for the non Contrast?
I was surprised to see the Kromlech early war Polish range…..very good option for Bolt Action. Thanks for sharing
I’ve ordered from Kromlech in the past. They are a great company with amazing products!
I love the frostgrave terrain,it looks so awesome. Being a massive terrain fan and loving the fully immersive gameplay style I’m definitely going to have to make room for these.
I really like the aeronautica stuff, I’m a fan of anything air and this means I can get more on the tabletop than in 30k. I just need to find others to play it with!!
I am really tempted by the farms of gettysburg houses too, I’ve been looking alot ar ACW gaming lately. Eatching Gods abd Generals, Gettysburg and Glory this week hasnt helped!!
Great show as always guys, keep up the good work!!
Hopefully this will be my first foray into the 40k universe XD
Id love the t’au auronautica imperialis planes they look amazing. I am looking at getting myself some t’au 40k very soon. Although a prophecy of the wolf starter set might make me reconsider 🙂
The frostgrave terrain looks great, and could be used for other games easily for both fantasy and sci-fi.
Finally the best part of the week the weekender, loving the new terrain for Frostgrave and 40k starter set looks awesome!
If you don’t have the pots, where would you keep the rupees?
I have 2 packs of chickens beside them to keep that Zelda bastard away from them!
the mat could be good for legends of tomorrow.
Prophecy Of The Wolf is one big interesting box.
But that Frostgrave terrain immediately sent my mind to Mordheim. Awesome!
Here’s me leaving a comment to win some Ork boyz, I see the set also comes with a few minis for them to slap around 🙂
Would love to win that starter set ?
So much good stuff in this weeks weekender, my poor bank account may never recover
a great show.
That starter set doesnt seems to have enough Orks. lol Its been a while sense i played 40k but i though orks were a horde army it sad to see only 10 minis to represent what ork should be.
Howl at the mooooooooon!!!!
Share on my local groups every week. Stay strong team
That Ork boss is looking awesome.
I’m interested to see how FFG has got on creating a solo version of X-Wing. X-Wing had a fan-made cooperative game called Heroes of the Aturi Cluster. I always thought that the AI in that was pretty good. I think someone has adapted it for 2nd edition.
Kromlech models look great, although I’ve never got around to picking any up.
Those orkz are amazing. Back to the days of interesting of the boyz. GW should be embarrassed with their treatment (and lack thereof) of the great gobinoids.
The kromlech stuff looks awesome. I feel an order coming.
the frost grave terrain looks sweet, really like the Kromlech orc Africa Korp model and vehicles

Gerry, a man after my own heart quoting the great Londo Mollari.
Also the frostgrave terrain is amazing. Too bad i don’t have space to store any more.
Win a starter set you say? Like our video on youtube you say? Subscribe, comment and ding the dong? Ok.
Now you just need to pull my name from the hat. Go on… you know you want to 😉
Great show! Great Prize! Hopefully the full team will be back next week.
Loving the indies, too bad GW doesn’t give much love to the orks. The buggys felt like an appetizer 😛
ACK!!! @brennon your mini from the unofficial weekender is completely irrelevant! WHYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!
I’ve been happy you load the Weekender up onFriday. Excellent giveaway!
Can’t wait for the second edition of Frostgrave.
I got the original relic blade KS. The minis are beautiful and its a pretty simple fun game.
These weekender videos have been great to watch while painting minis with my son. Cheers guys! Keep up the great work 🙂
Just been reading the Wargames Atlantic newsletter and they have a teaser for Spider Riders to go with the Spiders you looked at a few episodes ago.
Aye saw that yesterday I wonder if the goblins will be sculpted to fit the spiders or if it will be a separate box set.
@avernos – I have an answer for you as to why furniture and other decorative items tend not to be used inside terrain pieces in 40K.
To me, basically two things taken in combination cause players an issue inside buildings:
Bases sizes
Unit coherency
In “real life”, a Imperial Guardsman could drop down between pews in a church, using them for cover. But a plastic representative of him, stuck on a 25mm base, does make it hard. Then you have 8 of his mates and the sergeant that all have to maintain squad coherency, making it harder still (stop sniggering that maaan!!).
Whilst those that are playing RPGs (“wrongly”) with miniatures may have the first issue, but certainly not the latter, unless I am wrong as well.
Not every building needs to be fully furnished to the nth degree. But every building being empty husks, while easier, is far less interesting.
Kromlech is cool, I think I have some of their conversion bits in my collection
Woo new 40k, cant wait, just started a 3d printed Ork army as well!!
Look forward to another great weekend in lockdown.
Great prize! I made a comment!
Babylon 5 ..much Respect Gerry. I figured no one remembers that series
Love the Kromlech terrain, it’s a shame the ACW buildings are not being produced in smaller scales as I Wargame the ACW in 10mm. Old Glory 15mm stocked by Timecast in the UK
I don’t know what I’d do with out the weekender! I love this show. Great job guys. And I’m so excited for the new 40k!! More minis!!
wow a shaved badger, what’s next a shaved bush?.lol
A COMMENT. Right done what we were told to do.
The idea of a custom mat for DUST or having pre marked deployment areas has peaked my interest in mats again.
The other half is a fully paid up member of the hobby now @caileendeas and I am sure she would go ape at the mats for , reichbuster, edge magic the gathering and lightseekers and desert bolt action to mention but a few games. Or maybe a Nugle themed planet map for her 40 k army.
Always have loved the Kromlech stuff and a great company to do business with too.
It’s Friday, it’s after 5 o’clock, it’s the Weekender…
I wish people like Sarissa and Kromlech supplied their terrain pre painted like 4Ground, and if you wanted to paint it differently then just use the pre painted parts as undercoat.
You win a cabbage
Thanks for the show!
Cheers!
Can I hypnotize the algorithm with this comment? I really need this terrain set 😀
Awesome finally weekender show and what perfect timing with the new Frostgrave terrain coming out as just got hold of this and I’m jumping into shadow deep.
Oh and what an amazing 40k giveaway ????
The new Ghazghkull and Ragnar models look amazing.
Great game guys! Always fun to watch
That frostgrave set is looking pretty darn good!
Ben’s Action Man look is better than my current Worzel Gummidge look. I desperately need a hair cut
I’m so tempted to pick up that Aeronautica starter set. I really love the designs of their ships.
top prize yet again
I somehow managed to miss the announcement for Frostgrave terrain. It looks really nice.
Great start to the weekend.. now if i could just get that box set that would be grand.
I completely missed out on 8th edition 40k (job, new family etc) so this new 9th Crusade thing might be a good way of me finally getting around to collecting some Space Wolves.
I guess I’ll have to dig further into Kromlech’s range : discovered a few things in this Weekender about them.
Looking forward to the release of Frostgrave in August.
Love Kromlech’s stuff, Orc Juggernauts are so special
and their Tabletop Scenics MDF buildings are pretty neat too
clearly Ben is feeling nautical https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/proxy/9qL6TIVXHNaDqVU5H_Xf9WmPjq42lhW6TR6wFJhneXP_jk7azVIAbItI3b-wLItL4aicRjCRCKLMHTUUEMzJ3kyiAKhaulYekQDRu_1-CKPcdIu5VLwTH8nwxzfSz-6L0iU
I have the LP bought when it was released, the CD of the original and the CD on the remake with Liam Neeson et all.
Geoff Wayne’s made a good living out of this.
And HMS Thunder Child.
That starter set is awesome. But the Kromlech terrain really takes the cake this week.
Has Ben nevr heard of extension cords?
Any time my group talks about figures that need to be updated in the 40k line, somebody always laments about how old the Eldar Guardians are (and they sorely need an update).
But I will hunt down and destroy anyone involved in a redesign of the Falcon chassis. Recut and modernize the kit. Add more weapons and options, but if they change the aesthetic they will be destroying one of the finest wargaming models ever created.
great show guy’s defo like how the bits of war Paige looks now defo going to get some stuff for my kill team and crusade table for 9th addition 🙂
Just doubling my chances to win… Cos Lloyd told me to!
Happy weekend. Hell of a prize. Great character minis.
Yet another Weekender proving that my wallet is never safe after watching. The Frostgrave terrain looks amazing.
Gerry, please don’t sing.
Nice box set , cracking prize. Some awesome terrain on show as well !!
That was a terrifying mat.
The Mythos gribblies were one I missed in the original. Might have to hit up Warcradle for the new ones.
Love the Weekender and XLBS, the giveaways are just a nice bonus 🙂
The kromlech stuff is fantastic.some of that terrain they produce looks awesome. Would happily get back into 40k if I won the box set…… Of course, dumping the rules and playing some 2nd ed !!
Looks like another empty bank account for me looking at all the goodness.
I’ll leave a comment here as well. In it to win it.
Ere we go ere we go ere we go
Looking forward to this one guys. This show helps me get through the week.
love it guys, keep it up
Someone must have put something in my coffee this morning. I swear that I heard variation, perhaps emotion (was it some version of joy/happiness?)in Gerry’s tone today. Sounding good Gerry. 🙂
So its been about 11 years since I have last put together and painted me a model. Back then the citadel paints were affordable (the gracious gifts of my creators) – now that I have become a pleb my question is: Whether if id win the starter set or decide to invest back into the hobby what primer and maybe more affordable paint brands would y’all recommend?
I unfortunetally wouldn’t be able to go full citadel unless id be painting on the streets ha.. ha.. any threads or places I could check out for info or tips?
I am just a Goat so excuse my cluelessnes. Stay safe from the warm clutches of nurgle!
Awesome!
Happy weekend all 🙂
enjoyed the show!
all hail Ragnar!
What can I say, yes I am very much into Kromlech. I have many 40K Orks with Russian heads and themed painted toward WWII style. Also, I fully agree with Gerry that the best way to play Bolt Action is 1939-1943. I have Germans 1939-1040 and 1942-1943, French 1940 and American 1942-1943 armies. Yea, I’m not into Tiger Tanks.
I live in Gettysburg, have Federal and Confederate 28mm, and love the houses. Its sad they are not pre-painted as I suck when it comes to painting terrain. Not lazy, I just suck! Still, I think they are going to get into my wallet.
Thanks for the show. Looking forward to tomorrow. Warren, happy birthday mate!
i have lot of the Kromlech greenskins and highly recommend them. Now I need to buy more ;-P
I do love me some Warren meets mat.
Backed Relicblade on first kickstarter. Only pdf however as at the time the price for shipping to UK was pushing it beyond my budget.
I liked that it was more RPG than most skirmish games.
hmm Wolf or ORK ???? which to one??
Kromlech stuff is great
Another Great Weekender and lots of information. Some good miniatures and terrain available from Kromlich, they’re just plugging along creating cool bits and miniatures
Thank you for introducing me to Tabletop Scenics! I’m in love with their Gothic Spires range.
Happy whatever the day of the week it is…..ahhh once again loved the show and yes Ben come on you have not listened to War of the Worlds with Richard Burton shame on you, then after listening to that get the audio drama version from audiobooks it’s also a class listen. Me thinks I am going to order that space marine vanguard get started but me thinks a new chapter needs to be created, right where’s that downloaded pdf print out for creating your own chapter from gamesworkshop at…..
Great show
I sold my 40k stuff in part because I couldn’t find opponents in my area because most of them moved or quit. Easier to find opponents with this starter set
I collect both Space Wolves and Orks so I’ve had my eye on this set ever since it came out! But living in Australia and a being a poor Uni student, I can’t afford it haha. Damn, this would be awesome to win!
Great stuff guys!
Comment dropped, show watched. Kromlech site added to my to do list.
Kromlech has always made some great bits. Love that aspect of their site!
The weekender.. including hairgrooming adventures and discussions of x-mas songs in Malls. That being said, not sure i like those Mythos Insect models.
Still no desire to get back into 40k despite 9th edition new stuff, can’t remember the last time i bought something GW. For me there are many other games that are just as good but offer far greater value. Having said that a free prize might persude me to at least have a look.
Great Weekender as always guys, thank you
I like the mat I got from Deep Cut. The terrain from kromlech looks interesting.
Love the old glory miniatures.
15 mms is a great sca!e.
Orks orks orks
The x-wing solo rules look interesting. Hopefully they can pull off a rule set that will fun and intuitive.
I keep wavering on diving into Warhammer 40K. I like like the look of some of the minis from this set though.
Forgot how cool Kromlech is. Ideas, ideas.
Greetings from across the pond. Entertaining video as always.
Thanks for keeping the show going, guys! Always a fun watch. Looking forward to more new edition 40K news! Keep it coming
Great Show, thanks for reminding me of Kromlech! Great Range of conversion bits.
I will not leave a comment i will take it home with me and call it George.
Great show love Kromlech
Happy weekend!
Custom mats looks like a cool idea.
Happy weekend guys!
Can’t wait to have a look at Kromlech’s Frostgrave terrain next week! I’m leaning towards the Living Museum and the Silent Tower and eventually the Cemetary (a still gestating project of mine…).
Warren’s mat may not be my thing but, the colors just popped and whith one element, it looked 3D!
I must say, there is way too many interesting games out there, really tempted with Relicblade, i’ve been eyeing it for years now…
See you guys on XLBS!
Great show. Could have done with some more Saga and historicals content. Interesting times for 40K. Orks, so characterful. They have aged well but you need to replace them with even more characterful models and I’m sure GW must have noticed how slowly the community gave up old space marines. The Kromlech terrain is great. Mordheim …..’sigh’.
I have a comment, 40k has great lore.
I love those Kormleck Orcs as more, very old school 40K, which is somehow lost.
Cheers guys!
Over all so far what we have seen about 9th edition has seemed rather good. That said I do have my worries when it comes to 9th edition but at end of day all I can do is wait and see.
the battleship in war of worlds is called Thunderchild
Some of those Kromlech oks are fantastic – I have a few of them I need to paint up.
I’ve been avoiding the ork boyz GW minis for a few years now as they are a bit old and small compared o the Primaris, but he new Ghaz model is a nice and chunky.
Enjoying the discussion, great distraction from the recent turmoil. Thanks so much fellas!
That Frostgrave terrain looks awesome.
Just when I think I can’t like Gerry more he quotes Babylon 5!
great show again. Relic Blades is awesome game.
That Frostgrave wargaming terrrain looks ace! I wonder if I should pick up a few pieces to join the Battlesystems Terrain I have coming my way
Is Radio-Warren too big for TV now?? great show guys
Could really do with some good news
Fingers crossed for the win.
Relicblade is a great fantasy skirmish game. It has easy to follow rules and ease of play using the cards that come with the figures. I have backed their previous kickstarters and Sean Sutter has always delivered a quality product with no or minimal delays compared to most kickstarters. The figures are often characterful and unique with great sculpting. They would be of use in many other fantasy settings. I have already pledged for this latest kickstarter which has soared through its stretch goals, indicating just how popular this game is becoming. The artwork in the books is equally unique and of a high quality. I thoroughly recommend this one.
Love the new Ghazghkull…WANT!!
Over the last twenty years I have been cutting my children’s hair, I started to cut hair on one of my daughters one day but came across a tangle, so i took off the 1″ cut thingiemajig and used the clippers to cut it out. I was asked a question and I answered it. Then got back to cutting but, I heard an ominous sound that the clipper shouldn’t have made. In shock I realised what I had done – 3″ x 1.5″ strip straight down to the scalp (from the forehead going over the back), had no choice but to cut it all off.
Good Luck everyone!
The terrain looks nice, but why does the paint job look so blurry and washed out? Is it the image quality?
The terrain for Frostgrave is awesome. Any chance of it appearing in the on tabletop store?
I love the Kromlech stuff
I put it on YouTube as well, but I thought it’s more likely to be seen here. Eureka minis do awesome 15mm tripods
New frostgrave scenery looks great. Cannot wait for the second edition!!!
Leave a comment, you say. But they disappear in the walls of comments…like tears in rain.
Happy Weekender!
Loving the Kromlech stuff – Orc Nobz in Top hats are now something I want. And I have no interest in Sci-fi orcs usually!
The Relic Blade kickstarter looks interesting – but the disclaimer on the 2-player starter stating you still need the Seekers Handbook is a bit off putting. I can understand needing additional books to play other factions – but to play the game? Surely there’s something I’ve missed here!
Stay safe everyone!
Oh custom maps… that’s gonna cut deep into the wallet!
Really got to work on drumming up the coin and invest in some maps. Really bring the game to life moreso than the plain dining table.
Kromlech do a lot more terrain than I realised!
As a painter more than a player, I have always been intimidated by 40k because the armies are so big and the rules so massive. The idea of starting small and working upwards sounds like a great way for me and a friend to make our way into the place were there is only war.
Been eyeing that starter set for a while. Would be real nice to win it. Also, that Kromlech terrain looks great! Need to remember to check it out when it´s released.
Looking forward to Frostgrave’s new edition, just a pity it wasn’t out early this year as i was looking for a small warband style game to get into.
great prize this week
Brilliant show as ever! Hope you’re having a fantastic weekend guys.
RelicBlade looks interesting! I’ll need to go take a look at that one.
That’s some nice terrain from Kromlech
Relicblade stuff looks great.
All that scenery is nice, it’s just a shame I have nowhere to put it storage wise..
I would really love to win this set! But since I currently play neither orks nor space wolves, this could get expensive…
Wow, that Gettysburg terrain looks great. Might have to pick that up in 28 mm for my Walking Dead stuff. Also the Frostgrave terrain looks amazing and me, my friend and my wife are staring it, so what great timing.
Breakfast Baps for everyone! Those are English little wee-sandwichs right? 😛
Can I still leave a comment for an extra chance?
In any case, The Weekender has been great, as usual.
Gimme, gimme, gimme.
You guys are so awesome. Every week! Fun new content, and laughs.
So much cool stuff coming to 40k. the 50 pt teams seem like an interesting balance system. I will be interested in reading the rules.
Watching the Weekender on a Monday.
There Are No Wolves On Fenris…)
Great Show as always, i lost the love for 40K a while back but that starter set looks great.
Just as you think it’s going to have been a quiet weekend with Warren being away, suddenly you get Lloyd go go dancing in his low lows.
Mint.
Could you make forum with only solo games? Or is there one already. I haven’t checked it out.
I have to stop watching these… Too many things I want to buy!
I am keen to try out the crusade rules when they are released. It’s been that long since I’ve checked out the Kromlech site I had no idea they were doing terrain, or even that the range was as large as it is now. Going to have to have a browse now and see what bits I need to get along side some of those Frostgrave releases. First time in a while but the Relicblade kickstarter is tempting, sounds like an interesting game.
the best three man booth
Here’s my comment
Watching the Mat part, made me think it be nice to be able to get translucent grid overlays so you could use the same map but swap the grids
I’m liking the Primaris stuff more and more, and that ghazghkull model is pretty cool. Crossing my fingers
In for the win.
My favorite thing about Space Wolves are the Wolves themselves. They make great Wargs and Warg Chieftans for LOTR SBG!
Ben plz, u can shave also <3
I like the frostgrave terrain but a little pricey, and hope to make a better second edition of Frostgrave.
The first it´s a very bad game of mechanics.
I had no idea the Kromlech range was so huge. And no idea that they did terrain, but it looks amazing.
great show guys… happy weekender to all
That is one heck of a prize. After many, many, many a moon debating getting into Warhammer 40K, I finally made the jump into the game last week with the purchase of the current ‘Kill Team’ 2-player starter. I’m still tinkering away at the minis (have the terrain built), but I can’t wait to get in some games once we can all safely game together again.
Hi All,
Ben, me and my Brother we call it Covid 19 Haircut style 😀
Best 40K starter set: Dark Vengeance
This kit only seems like a good deal for Ghazghkull
