They Cannae Take It, Cap'n!' is based on 2nd Lt James Doohan and his time spent on the beaches during D-Day. For those not familiar with the name, Doohan played Montgomery 'Scotty' Scott on Star Trek as part of the original series but he also served during World War II and was on Juno Beach on 6th June 1944.

Doohan shot two snipers before taking his men to higher ground through an anti-tank minefield before taking up a defensive position. Despite an early success, he was unfortunately subject to some friendly fire when a Canadian sentry hit him six times with a Bren gun. He was lucky however when the bullet to his chest was stopped by a silver cigarette case gifted to him by his brother.

Despite his injuries he would go on to fly as a Royal Canadian Artillery officer. According to Warlord Games' blurb, he was known as one of the "craziest pilots in the Canadian Air Force" which seems a great fit for someone who would then boldly go into deep space in Star Trek.

"In the late spring of 1945, on Salisbury Plain north of RAF Andover, he slalomed a plane between telegraph poles "to prove it could be done", earning himself a serious reprimand."

...amazing. If you're looking to add a larger-than-life character into your games and maybe see how Doohan would have fared had he continued fighting on the front lines, snap up this Soldier Of Fortune before 30th April.

Will you be snapping up James Doohan for your Bolt Action army?
