Modiphius are going to be bringing their wargame version of Cohors Cthulhu to Kickstarter in June. Tactics is a 28mm scale solo and cooperative game where you will be battling eldritch and mythos horrors in the depths of Ancient history.

"Set in the Cohors Cthulhu universe during the height of Imperial Rome, you begin your heroic journey as one of a handful of survivors of an ambush, desperately trying to escape the Mythos-ridden mists of a Germanic forest. As your heroes grow in experience and power, you will fulfil your destiny, becoming the leader of a powerful Legion and facing the avatars of the Outer Gods themselves in full-scale war!"

The game will be a great way for you to bring together the Historical and the Lovecraftian. What's also quite nice is that Cohors Cthulhu is going to be a good blend of both wargame and roleplaying games, drawing on storytelling elements rather than it just being a straight-up battle on the tabletop.

What's also nice is that Modiphius is planning a range of 28mm resin and 3D printable STL Files for you to use when building up your collection for the game.

The miniatures will feature a whole host of Roman Centurions for you to use as part of your Legion but also scoundrels, nobles, hunters, priests, druids, assassins, soldiers and warriors. Whatever kind of character you're looking to make, there should be options for you to do so.

There is a good mix of different characters on the way and if you'd prefer to fight as one of the "allies" of the Romans then you've also got some options that would match. Mighty barbarian warriors from deepest Gaul are ready to fight back against the forces of cosmic darkness.

There are also plenty of deadly foes for you to face off against during your adventures. The power of the Outer Gods has called many to their side which means you've got The Cult Of Mormo to contend with alongside priests, servitors and ghouls as well as their overlords. There are also Teufel Hounds, Fluttering Fiends, Sheehad, Elder Things, Chosen and Die Draugr!

For example, is Maeren going to be a friend or foe? She could well be an ally but perhaps the lure of cosmic power has turned her into a villain that will pop up throughout your games?

The Star Spawn Of Cthulhu will be available as part of the campaign but stretch goals will then help to unlock more factions like the Deep Ones, Mi-Go, and the corrupt Herjan’s Horde. Modiphius have also said that additional funding will add more missions and additional gameplay options for players to experience.
