Games Workshop are introducing some new character miniatures into the mix for Warhammer: The Horus Heresy. Both Traitors and Loyalists are going to be available to pre-order this weekend for those fighting out the Battle for Beta-Garmon and beyond.

Shadrak Meduson - Warhammer The Horus Heresy

Leading the way is Shadrak Meduson who gathered the survivors of the Raven Guard and Salamanders after the Drop Site Massacre. He is now looking to hunt down the Warmaster's forces alongside the rest of the Shattered Legions and make them pay. He looks super cool and I like that you've got that mishmash of different armour styles mixed in with the host of weapons and other armaments gathered up as he fights on the move.

If you're looking to pick up an alternative Near-Traitor that you wouldn't expect, you could get your hands on the White Scar's Hibou Khan.

Hibou Khan - Warhammer The Horus Heresy

Hibou Khan // Warhammer: The Horus Heresy

Hibou Khan and the Brotherhood Of The Dawn Sky decided to side with Horus but their conspiracy was humbled and now Hibou Khan has rejoined Jaghatai Khan and the White Scars to battle against the Warmaster. He carries an awesome weapon, Breath Of The Storm, which looks like it reaps a terrible toll. This is another awesome miniature for those wanting to add more personalities to their Horus Heresy battles.

If you're taking on the role of Traitor then you can also pick up Tybalt Marr who has been tasked with hunting down Shadrak Meduson who we showed off above. He carries the Culling Blade which has already reaped a terrible toll on the Shattered Legions and maybe he can now face down Meduson himself.

I do like the military precision that you get with the Sons Of Horus. They aren't overly traitorous and it's one of the neat things about The Horus Heresy as a whole. You get to play the villains but they aren't covered in dozens of spikes. Oh, and you don't have to paint endless armour trim.

Now, I've said that and then this fellow steps into the ring. ‘Little’ Horus Aximand is also going to be available to snap up this weekend.

Little Horus Aximand - Warhammer The Horus Heresy

"Little" Horus Aximand // Warhammer: The Horus Heresy

Horus Aximand was one of the most devoted captains of the Sons Of Horus and the Warmaster. As you can tell by his expression, he is something of a zealous individual and has been known to survive even the most terrible wounds. I do like that all of the characters have named weapons and in the case of Horus Aximand, this fellow has the broadsword Mourn-it-all. Everything is better when you have named swords. It's just more epic...

Legiones Astartes Command Squads

As well as the new characters, there are also two new sets of accessories for creating Command Squads for both Traitors and Loyalists.

Legiones Astartes Command Squads - Imperial Fists - Warhammer The Horus Heresy

The sets come with options for Command Squads of five Chosen in either MKVI or MKIII power armour. They come armed with power swords and combat shields as well as a mighty banner. They can then bear either Loyalist or Traitor iconography (you don't have to paint them as Imperial Fists or Sons Of Horus).

If you already have the actual Tactical Marine bodies in MKVI or MKIII power armour you can then just buy a Legion Command Upgrade Set which comes with all of the bitz. These sets look awesome and could be a great way for you to help build some original characters for use in your Horus Heresy battles.

Will you be scooping up some of these new Horus Heresy miniatures?
