Spectre Sculpt Cosmic Horrors You’ll Face Soon On Kickstarter
February 24, 2026 by brennon
Spectre Miniatures are getting ready for a new Kickstarter campaign soon, Cosmic Horror. This campaign, inspired by the mythos horror and chills of H.P. Lovecraft, will be coming to crowdfunding on 17th March, complete with a new range of miniatures and updated rules.
Cthulhu // Spectre Miniatures
Talking of glorious miniatures, the team at Spectre have been showing off some of the monstrous and unfathomable horrors that will be coming to your tabletops soon. Above, we have the immense form of Cthulhu itself.
This miniature stands an impressive 100mm tall and is actually based on a sketch of Cthulhu by Lovecraft himself. I feel like if Cthulhu ends up appearing on your tabletop, you might have already lost whatever scenario you were playing! Well, unless you're the cultists!
Not to be outdone, Spectre has also produced a miniature for the terrifying Dagon.

Make sure to check your nets. If this is coming out of the ocean towards you, scarper and run for the harpoon! On second thought, I think you're going to need a bigger boat. If you're planning to make a journey to Innsmouth, then I would expect the inhabitants to introduce you to Dagon at some point.
Rage Against The Dark!
In addition to the terrors above, Spectre Miniatures have also been previewing some of the investigators, agents, agitators and more that will be taking part in Lovecraftian adventures on the tabletop.
Investigators // Spectre Miniatures
This leads into a bit more detail for you folks about exactly what Cosmic Horror is. It will play out as a small-scale narrative skirmish game where you command an Assembly. This Assembly is a cell, society, cult or agency that has been put together using their miniatures, normally around four to twelve models in size.
From here, you'll dive into scenarios that are objective-driven and story-led. You will be trying to survive your encounters and uncover whatever you need to succeed rather than just wiping out the other players at the table.
Explorer // Spectre Miniatures
Hard choices will lie at the heart of your actions at the tabletop. This is as much about deciding when to cut your losses and run as it is about heroics from the sounds of it. As long as you can run faster than the man next to you, you'll be fine. It will be fascinating to see how sanity and other psychological elements are introduced into the game mechanics.
Agents/Mobsters // Spectre Miniatures
All of the miniatures have been sculpted by Stephen May and will be 3D printed in-house by Spectre Miniatures. I would also imagine that the miniatures will be available as STL Files as they do for their current range. Larger miniatures are then going to be cast in resin by some of the finest producers in Nottingham.
New Rules
As well as all of the figures, you'll also get the new rulebook for Cosmic Horror, which is also going to be produced in the UK.

More on the game will no doubt arise as we get closer to the launch of the Kickstarter campaign. If this has interested you, you can head over to the Kickstarter Landing Page right now and sign up to be notified when the campaign goes live. Signing up and being an early backer of the campaign will also net you a special miniature of Lovecraft himself!
You can also go over to the Cosmic Horror section of Spectre's website right now and see some of their existing range. Get your hands on some of the miniatures early and start preparing for Cosmic Horror!
Could you be tempted by the eldritch mysteries of Cosmic Horror?

“Who you gonna call?”
“Cthulhu… that’s who!”
A skirmish game that does not focus on combat as its primary mechanic ?
One that focuses more on exploration ?
I like it.
Maybe the stars are right for this to work.
Love the concept as well, although it would have been nice then if not all the miniatures had been toting guns. That said, they are beautiful, as are the paintjobs.
Looking forward to this getting to retail.
Dagon is a frightening piece with how well its painted. I can imagine the jaw dropping open like a Pelican Eel and exposing rows of teeth like deep sea dragonfish (Stomiidae) or anglerfish
