It’s the weekend!!
A weekend to knuckle down and finish a few part-painted models to clear them off the backlog. I could do a whole WAYPN thread by my own!
I never seem to finish anything – I seem to just reduce the amount of not-started stuff!
Happy Weekend! That’s great news with @oriskany, really looking forward to seeing what you come up with!
Absolutely, it’s great there is now going to be someone on board who can edit history (that’s what he meant right?) 🙂
“Edit” history? No, not really. There’s been enough of that with K47, Dust, WWX, etc. 😀 😀 😀
Or should I start editing history George Orwell 1984 style? 😀 “He who controls the past control the present, and who controls the present controls the future . . .”
Bwa-hahaha. 😀
Nice one, Jim. Feels like you’ve been part of the team for ages anyway, so nice to have it official 🙂
Most amazing battle of WW2.? I would be surprised if there not talking about Kursk. Might not be my choice but it is interesting
It might be the time a three-man Luftwaffe crew took everyone in Walmington church hall hostage…
This is the only thing in historical gaming that I have the models for (well, aside from the Luftwaffe crew that is…)
There’s Operation Market Garden which has its fair share of interesting set pieces …
“we’re going to be plotting out historical stuff that’s going to happen.” Sounds like either voodoo or you are planning some sort of coup that will be remembered for generations…
Great stuff with @oriskany coming on board, already looking forward to some more historical stuff.
As someone who fondly remembers such 2000AD strips as Rain Dogs, Drowned Earth looks like it will scratch all sorts of itches 🙂
Glad to hear it! Love Rain Dogs.
Did you get to Kingdom? When I started writing The Drowned Earth a friend of mine recommended it as worth a look for influences etc.
That’s the continuing adventures of Gene The Hack-man right? Great series. Dan Abnett and Richard Elson firing on all cylinders! They’ve built a fascinating world over the years, and I am continually (but pleasantly) surprised each time it returns for a new series adding further depth.
To be fair though, I firmly believe you could take (almost) any issue of 2000ad and find plenty of juicy material to inspire game design (speaking of, how has Nikolai Dante not gotten a tabletop or videogame?)….
That’s right, Gene the Hack-man, lol. Loved it. Completely barmy, but in the best possible way.
You’ve reminded me that I don’t own enough 2000AD, lol. Funnily enough, Judge Dredd never really caught me, but loved a bunch of the peripheral stuff.
Happy Weekend, well done @oriskany on joining the team. No rest for the wicked.
Looking forward to seeing more updates from the gang at Adeptus.
Really like the look and feel of Drowned Earth. Some lovely sculpts there, great job.
Thank you! Worked really hard to get the best sculptors available to work on the miniatures. after all, the mood of a game is made or broken by the actual toys themselves!
Not to say the rest isn’t important as well of course, but I was determined to get them right. Actually, I was determined to get everything right, lol.
Thanks very much, @noyjatat – the less rest the better!
What does Mako say in the original Conan movie?
“Sleep? Ha! Time enough for sleep in the grave.”
James spent a couple of hours teaching an idiot how to paint at SteamCon last November. I became aware of The Drowned Earth immediately after that as a result of meeting him there. It looks fantastic. In fact, it’s the type of game which makes you realise that in terms of art direction and setting, there isn’t as much variety in our industry as there could be. It also appeals to my indie sensibilities also. Very much looking forward to this one.
James also does commission painting – https://www.facebook.com/yggdrasilpainting/?fref=ts
Ohhh, you were the idiot! :D.
Haha, not sure who you were but fear not, no idiots! Thanks for the plug- variety is the spice of life, right?
I got asked a while back if I thought there was room in the market place for “yet another skirmish game”. Answer is simple- there’s always room for something new and different. “Yet another”? Perhaps not, but if I didn’t think TDE was going to bring a bunch of new stuff to the table I’d never have gone all the way with it.
Thanks also for the plug :).
Been following The Drowned Earth for a while now. Good seeing them get some attention on BoW.
Has Warren lost a ton of weight or does that black shirt look reaaaalllllly slimming?
Your eyes are not playing tricks on you, @madgame , Warren has dropped something like 22+ kilos and still going strong. I met him again at the recent boot camp, and was like: “Pleased to see you again, Warren! Now where is the rest of you?” 😀
Great job Warren! As a bigger fellow myself I know how hard it is to lose weight.
Thanks guys lol
Yup im trying to stay disciplined!
Thank you! Great to be here – a landmark to be sure :).
Greatest military engagement?
Cool! Finally thought that it was Battle of Jutland time!
Then you said that it was WWII…
Oh… maybe some other time… bugger.
@chillreaper – Not to give too much away, but I think @warzan picked this based on a “coolness” factor (which it certainly has) as opposed to scale.
I’ll happily do an article or series on the Battle of Jutland if someone has photos of 60+ battleship and battle cruiser miniatures they can contribute!
I’m actually not kidding, if anyone can actually stage the Battle of Jutland on a table, or even a healthy part of it, PM me.
The Drowned Earth look like really interesting, i think i will follow this game to see what happen next. Really like it !
Thank you! Always eager for feedback. You can subscribe to the mailing list for a cheeky Kickstarter reminder here: http://tinyurl.com/gsn6wb3
I really want to read the fluff for Drowned Earth. Sounds really interesting.
I can’t wait to get it out of note form and in to the rulebook! However, you can check out a brief world description here: http://www.thedrownedearth.com/an-introduction-to-the-drowned-earth/
And a few blog articles:
http://www.thedrownedearth.com/category/fluff/
You can also check out some fiction by following the “Tales of Ulaya” link in the top bar.
Jesus, what kind of third world internet speeds do you have in the UK?! I have a 100/100mbit line here in Sweden and in at least somewhat urban areas that’s not that uncommon. This won’t do lads, you must lead a revolution for faster internets! Get your pitch forks and load the trebuchet with old defunct modems and commence bombardment!.
Great to know more fabulous historical stuff with @oriskany is on the horizon 😎 😎
His series of articles are real highlights and reason enough for becoming a backstage member!
Jim is a true asset to the team, well done BoW to finally getting him on board 🙂
ToH sounds indeed so simple and elegant that even my good self is confident to grasp the rules 😉
I’ll be definitely picking up the core box at Salute and in the meantime I’ve got good reason to paint all those WGF samurai plastics I bought back in the day!
Same with the Shadespire game! Although I still struggle with AoS I really like the figures and I do love the more human touch the Astor casts have now with their bare heads!
Great show, thanks guys and have a good weekend all!
Congratulations @oriskany on officially joining the team
Wow, thanks very much @suetoniuspaullinus and @jamjarst !
nice one.
Hey, didn’t you win a big prize, @zorg ? Congratulations! 😀 😀
thanks I missed it have to re-watch the vid.
Happy weekend!
Question, where did you guys get that Super Heavy transport/carryall Kittyhawk thing you used in “Warren Meets Mat”?
Test Of Honour, OH HELL YES, the cinematic slaughter of an absurd number of minions by a few elite Samurai is always fun.
Ninjas or Samurai? Nither, Warrior Monk 🙂
Shadespire looks very interesting I may just have to pick it up
The Drowned Earth, Gorilla Adventurer Archaeologist? Lizardman Indiana Joans? Sold! 😀 I now know what my nest big pledge on Kickstarter’s going to be. and something tells me I won’t be the only one 😉
Awesome show guys,
The miniatures industry definitely needs a Gorilla archaeologist model 😀
Don’t feel like you need to wait for the KS though- there are standees and the beta rulebook to download on the website right now!
http://www.thedrownedearth.com/downloads_element
…GI JOE SIGMA 6 DRAGONHAWK… https://www.amazon.com/GI-JOE-Sigma-6-DragonHawk/dp/B000EQGS8I
Ah, thank you, and also damn you, I now have that theme song stuck in my head, lol 😀
I have to get my Hands on the Drowned Earth Stuff… it looks really good.
Thank you! Do be sure to subscribe to our mailing list here: http://tinyurl.com/gsn6wb3
Drowned Earth looks like it’ll be a fun narrative game. Plus Archaeologists as a faction!
Who doesn’t want an Indiana Jones faction?! 😀
A Lao Che faction….. 😉
Oh and it’s Ninja, Hattori Hanzo FTW!
Congrats @oriskany on joining the BoW team! I’m really looking forward to all the new historical content.
Drowned Earth minies look cool. Incredible paint jobs for “demo” minies.
Thanks :D.
I may puke a kitten every time someone knocks one over at Salute, lol, but they’re there to do a job!
Just wait till you see the studio paint jobs though- I have a friend who makes my painting look like nursery school art class!
Thanks very much, @guillotine .
Drowned earth is looking really good, might have to have a look as those miniatures certainly look characterful!
Thank you! Loads of character is definitely what I was going for. Even if I do say so myself, they’re great models to paint too :).
Those Drowned Earth minis look scrumptious! 🙂
Thank you! Do you have a favourite?
Those drowned earth minis look great plus that poor dwarf loosing his gold both look like interesting games
For the love of god…… well my wallet…. which may as well be attributed with divinity as I am always praying to it that it has enough in the hobby section of it ….. please stop showing cool games on the weekenders …… Both Test of Honour (samurai by the way Justin) and Drowned Earth look fabulous … (*pssst please don’t stop I just said that to keep “The Wallet” happy)
Another great weekender. Thanks guys once again and I will see you tomorrow
Does the wallet wear a dress and get annoyed when you stay out playing games too late? :D.
…….. *looks from side to side* ………….. *says unconvincingly* ……..No …….. No of course not …………….. 😉
Great to see oriskaney join the group. I really like his work on the boot camp and the tanks rpg scenario.
Thanks, @mordiano . We’ll definitely be doing more of those tank RPGs soon. Perhaps another post-apocalyptic setting, perhaps something more historical. I was happily surprised in the response it got, and since then the amount of requests (sometimes bordering on demands) I’ve gotten for repeat runs of the concept.:D
Awesome to see ya Graham, well done fella. What a nice saturday morning surprise. 🙂
I didn’t get as far as Drowned Earth. I’ll have to finish it off later! I’m not sure what to make of that mat. The detail was great, but it was just too blue! If it was more concrete/metallic, it would be great!
I’m really interested in Test of Honour. If I can I might pick it up soon.
Wow, had not heard of the Drowned Earth game before today. Looks really cool. Will definitely be checking out the Kickstarter.
Thanks for the kind words- always looking for feedback!
Drowned Earth looks like a great setting. I’d love to have a go at a post-Apoc UK setting at some point and this game gets over the “lack of weapons in the UK” problem in more near-future settings.
Ooooh, is it our world? Or some other world? Will someone trip over a half submerged Nelson’s column, way out in the jungle somewhere? Who knows! 😀
I’m already googling Statues of Liberty suitable for 28mm 😀
Drowned Earth really looks interesting, i’m looking forwqard to learn more about this game. And those minis are really looking great.
And Test of Honour looks really intriguing too, guess those are two more games that could rob me of my hard earned money 😉
Drowned earth sur looks intriguing , i must win.
Test of honor is really looking good , one game I’ll be picking up. Awesome show guys made my Saturday morning fun.
@oriskany is a fine addition to the team, the man brings so much to the table.
drowned earth looks genuinely imaginative and extremely characterful and those jungle bases are something else.
Thanks very much, @emptynessisform
Awesome vision of a post-post apocalypse … really like the tropical archipelago spin.
That Samurai game looking rather nice but the Drowned Earth game, wow, those figures are totally amazing and the paintjob on them are really good.
Been following the drowned earth on twitter for what seems like ages. This game is right up my street and I eagerly await my chance to pick it up.
the back ground of drowned earth looks very interesting downed loaded the rules going to try it these week to see how it goes.
Don’t forget to let me know what you think!
More historical stuff is always welcome. I’m excited. The Drowned Earth stuff looks fantastic.
Happy weekender guys.
Awsome weekener again guys, thank you.
Im really looking forward to all the bits with 40k, hopefully itll happen sooner rather than later as my head is about to explode!!
Not sure if the new samurai game is for me at the moment but it looks really cool and those minis look amazing. Very interested in the drowned earth stuff though, love all the post apocalyptic stuff. The models are stunning and the game mecanics sound good. Im gonaing tk download the beta this afternoon!!
Good morning all,
So basically we can now blame all historical mistakes on Jim instead of Warren, well played Warren 🙂
Test of Honor, definitely the Samurai. At the rate Warlord is going I should just draft my check to them directly 🙁
@tibour – you say: “So basically we can now blame all historical mistakes on Jim . . .”
Take your best shot, bro! 😀 I was hoping for a warmer reception from another ex-Marine, and fellow Floridian, to boot!
Just kidding, of course. I do get pinged on details once in a while, but fortunately these have been pretty small so far (the caliber length of German KwK and PaK guns, whether “schwere Panzerabteilung” is all one word, etc). And of course anyone has to remain willing to learn.
well I’ve got another kick-starter to look foreword too, here’s hoping that t-rex gets made : )
Me too! Would be pretty epic.
What if it had someone riding on its back… 😮
And on the topic of ‘Samurai vs Ninjas vs Dwarves’
Why no ‘Samurai Dwarves’ and Halfling Ninjas ?
That’s the best of both worlds …
Well done @oriskany a well deserved appointment. Looking forward to seeing what you have lined up.
Thanks, @ckbrenneke . 😀
I love the concept behind Drowned Earth. I like the story better than Return to the Planet of the Apes. The mini’s are great looking and hope to read through the rules.
Regarding the stat cards, I absolutely need those because unless you are play the same mini game over and over again, there is no way to keep track of stats across many game systems. I have in the past created my own if not supplied. So, kudos for the stats cards.
Thank you! Even if we do not unlock the stat cards, we will definitely provide the files online to download and print yourself. I agree- makes a game so much more playable, especially if you’re a hobby butterfly like me who needs to have ALL THE GAMES! 😀
I like the Planet of the Apes vibe from that mini! Drowned Earth looks fantastic!
Thank you!
The Drowned Earth looks very cool. Can’t wait to download the Beta and give it a try.
Still actively seeking feedback on both the rules themselves and the wording of the rulebook- Ive put quite a lot of work in to standardising the terminology and ensuring things are precisely explained. I think readability has suffered a little because of it, but having said that, most people seem to get along with it just fine.
It’s just that the game is really easy to teach, so I wish the rulebook reflected that! Perhaps I’ll do a quick-start rules at some stage.
Happy Saturday
A rare Saturday I get to watch the weekender and not a catchup.
A very busy/full Saturday but all great content this week. Drowned Earth looks like one of the most original concepts out there right now, and I thought I could keep my pledging down this year. I like both factions, but when he said rpg. I am now hoping we can add characters that we develop inside a campaign. If not, house ruling it is.
In actual fact Drowned Earth has a hint of Shanara Chronicles to it; which just makes me want it more. Fighting Gorillas is just a bonus
So, the home-brew system which I have only about a page of notes for, is based on a percentile system, while the tabletop game is 2xD10, with stats being 1-10.
So by adding a zero to a tabletop character, you have a rough RPG stat line, and likewise move a decimal place to render your RPG character in the tabletop game :D.
The RPG ruleset will be very rough and ready- a sandbox which will require a bit of work on the GM’s part, but I hope people might have fun with it.
I actually originally conceived the tabletop game as a campaign based system, but realised quickly that it was too much work for a single release. However… I have kept all of that original work, and who knows what the future may bring if we meet with success next month :).
I really do wish you all the best with it. You came across as a genuine person who just wants to release a brain child of theirs.
That info on rpg/game cross over is awesome
I wish you all the best. You have my backing. I already have an idea or two regarding Sage and an entry into Salute 2018 painting competition. Hint….its a diorama
That sounds super-cool! If you’re coming this year drop by- we have a game stand where we’re running participation games and demos.
Drowned earth looks awesome
Looks really interesting, looking forward to see more to this game. Maybe at some point try it myself.
I have some real interest in the Drowned Earth Kickstarter. Time these days is so short that it is easier to play the skirmish level games. This looks to have a great back story.
I also think there’s a certain merit in a modest, 3×3 board. When playing larger games a 4×4 is preferable but most of our play testing has been done on a 3×3 with just 5 models a side.
Congrats @oriskany, It already felt like you were one of the team so it is only obvious it happened sooner or later.
Thanks, @caledor2
Be ready for long debates on if plan A would have worked …
Congrats
Great KS’s just keep on rolling out
First I did think the figures of the Drowned Earth were so so, but now I see em painted up in all their glory…..
Superb minis.
I win ’em or else I buy ’em. 😉
Good luck!
Drowned earth looks amazing. definitely going to back it.
Drowned Earth looks good. I am thinking Thundarr the Barbarian more than anything. The models look great and I want to read the rules.
The oh my god the world warmed up and flooded thing makes me cringe a bit as we didn’t see the world end during the Roman empire etc. This is the new way of saying the world is going to end, in the 80s it was nuclear 00s we started back to zombies. Just seems there is always a trope to trot out and it would be nice if in the future someone came up with something new.
The Drowned Earth is so up my street. Probably be the first kickstarter I will back for a long time.
I found The Drowned Earth about a month ago, man do those minis look great.
Drowned Earth sounds like it would also make a fantastic tabletop RPG setting as well.
Well, that’s another kickstarter I’ll have to try and resist. The Drowned earth minis look fantastic. I’ll have to take a look at those beta rules.
Happy weekend… just got around to watching this, excellent programme today. Dropfleet stuff looks cool. Congrats @oriskany nice to know the historical stuff is in good hands…ACW awesome about time….lol
Drowned earth minis look amazing…. interesting concept to the game.
Amazing miniatures for Drowned earth. Just did download and looking to see how it plays out.
Damn you Beasts of War, getting me interested in another game system 🙂 The Drowned Earth looks amazing and I will definitely be looking into the kickstarter when it starts
Drowned world looks amazing.
A refreshing take on the post-apocalyptic
……Absolutely awesome World Fluff aand Miniatures from DROWNED EARTH…..i Definetely must get on it!!!!
The world for Drowned Earth sounds amazing. Can’t wait to see the kickstarter.
Those Drowned Earth mini’s look so crisp! Love them!
I just win to comment, or something like that 😉
Happy weekend!
Well, that Drowned Earth game will be worth checking when it hits KS…
Shadespire looks interesting too…
The Drowned Earth stuff looks very good.. so cool to see nice sculpts and then have access to the Beta’s and card-stock cut outs!!! I’m hoping to get some Perry Ronin / Samurai figures painted up in anticipation of Test of Honor as well!
Really delighted to see BeastsofWar highlighting enterprises like The Drowned Earth !! It looks intriguing. I have downloaded the Beta Rulebook to read up on it.
Wow those Drowned Earth minis are some of the nicest minis ive seen in a while
The drowned earth really captures the imagination. The post-apocalyptic/jungle/flooded/adventure has always inspired me. And yes! So good to see some actual models, rather than renders. Looking forward to kickstarter. And the terrain possibilities 🙂
Really does look like a good game that Drowned Earth and I am definitely following Adepticon each day since there is so much to take in.
looks like an awesome game to ad to my callection
Okay the drowned earth looks really cool, loving the uplifted lizards. If I have the money at the time this one is definitely on my list. That way even if it isn’t canon at least one Slethsk(?) will hate snakes 🙂
great show guys congrats to @oriskany.
The Drowned Earth looks like it has an amazing setting. I can’t wait to learn more about the gameplay and look at what the Kickstarter has to offer.
Happy Weekend.
Glad to see more @oriskany content to come. I wonder if @warzan went for that battle for an Austrian castle in May ’45.
Also, for non studio painted mini’s, the Drowned Earth mini’s looked very nice, lovely bases as well.
Thanks @zorg , and congrats on the prize.
I was going to say Colditz Castle, @m30wm1x – but I don’t think that was the same one to which you were referring. I think I know the battle you mean, though. A little digging . . .
Here are the basic facts: on 5 May 1945—five days after Hitler’s suicide—three Sherman tanks from the 23rd Tank Battalion of the U.S. 12th Armored Division under the command of Capt. John C. ‘Jack’ Lee Jr., liberated an Austrian castle called Schloss Itter in the Tyrol, a special prison that housed various French VIPs, including the ex-prime ministers Paul Reynaud and Eduard Daladier and former commanders-in-chief Generals Maxime Weygand and Paul Gamelin, amongst several others.
Yet when the units of the veteran 17th Waffen-SS Panzer Grenadier Division arrived to recapture the castle and execute the prisoners, Lee’s beleaguered and outnumbered men were joined by anti-Nazi German soldiers of the Wehrmacht, as well as some of the extremely feisty wives and girlfriends of the (needless-to-say hitherto bickering) French VIPs, and together they fought off some of the best crack troops of the Third Reich. Steven Spielberg, how did you miss this story?
http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2013/05/12/world-war-ii-s-strangest-battle-when-americans-and-germans-fought-together.html
This is also the one where one of the prisoners was a world-class tennis player before the war. 😀
I have read that Colditz Castle was a nut house many times over the years.
I wish I could have made it to Adepticon this year.
loving the look of this Drowned Earth shenanigans
The Dropfleet corvettes look nice.
I’m deeply vexed and annoyed that I still have not received my kickstarter pledge yet.
So much shiny, so little money!
Looking forward to seeing how the Drowned Earth Kickstarter plays out.
I am very interested in the world of Drowned Earth. It’s a very good story that has taken the time to explain the Post-Cataclysm world with both cool ‘techy’ characters and dinosaurs and a reasoned story as to why those things are present in the world.
A good mix between explaining the exotic bits of the world and mysterious mysteries that remain… unknown.
Would it be a drowned let’s play? come on guys.
Will there be a drowned let’s play? Come on guys
Wow, Drowned Earth has some great miniatures. Better check out the rules as well…
I’ve had a quick flick through the Drowned Earth rulebook and it looks pretty interesting. The minis have definitely sold it for me though it and Fabled Realms will be my next kickstarter forays.
As for Test of Honor the release of that coincided with my wife dreaming about a Japanese samurai miniature game so she’s been hounding me to get ordering for a couple of weeks now, just had to wait for some funds to become available.
Also congratulations to you @oriskany on your recruitment! Looking forward to seeing some more historical content, loved your work on the Flames of War boot camp campaign.
Firstly awesome news @oriskany is an offical Beast and look forward to seeing the product of that.
Test of Honour is really testing my no new systems resolve, and price point of entry is outstanding which is not helping at all. @johnlyons interview didn’t help with that.
Speaking of testing resolve Drowned Earth look interesting, Sage is an amazing model. I would vote for Orang characters being added, nothing to do with being an old ginger at all.
As to new 40k rules, I am hoping these will be good, thing is everything they are talking about coming back, went away for a reason. So jury is definately out on this one, hoping to be proved wrong, and have a reason to get my orks back on a table.
Thanks very much, @fireblarney and @dags ! 😀 😀
That is an adorable salamander
Test of Honour looks brilliant. I just received my copy yesterday in the post. Check out the Test of Honour Facebook group where Andy Zeck is already sharing some cool samurai paint jobs. The drowned earth minis looked great and the free beta rules is always welcome. An attack that reduces opposition actions is a fun mechanic and I have taken more interest in post apocalyptic games of late.
Oriskany being on board is really cool. It was always a pleasure to read his articles and if this change helps increase content and contributions that can only be a big plus for the site.
Looking forward to the Hobby weekend next week.
Samurais or Ninjas? You need both! The eternal enemies!
This was fun!
You guys can try an American accent anytime… nearly pissed myself with your cowboy attempt. You should make a video of just doing American accents.
This drowned earth stuff looks like it will scratch my planet of the apes itch.
Planet of apes in game form at last?
great show guys and awsome to see Warren’s mat. now if only John’s tool was back 🙂
who dosant like gorilla worriers, looks like a amazing kickstater
Drowned Earth looks amazing. And I think the setting is just right for a RPG. And here I thought my wallet would take a short break from Kickstarter.
Test of Honor is sparking my interest as well…I’ll better leanr to live on air alone pretty quick.
Thanks for yet another awesome weekender.
I really like the look of Drowned Earth; the minis, the theme, the sound of the ruleset, everything but I’m trying really, really hard not to get sucked into another game! The one thing that is helping me to resist(ish) is the terrain; making thematic terrain for this game would be a must but I’m struggling to think what else I’d be able to use it for given that it would have a very distinct look. I guess it could double up as an alien planet for Infinity or other sci-fi games…
Combining Indiana Jones, tropical post-apocalytic, genetic-engineering/evolution, wonder and mystery, potential RPG, skirmish, cinematic gameplay, and killer models… I’m already in negotiations with the wife about backing another kickstarter…
Happy Weekend! 🙂
Drowned Earth definitely looks like a pick up
Drowned eart have very interesting fluff I would like read novel about it firs. there is enough of skirmish games to play now and Fluff is what drags my attention,
Another great show fellas, but the guy from Warlord could have been a bit more upbeat about his game although it looks interesting
Intrigued about Drowned Earth and what their KS entails
Drowed Earth is looking really interesting!
WOW I have won a prize. YAY
@oriskany Congratulation Jim it will be great to see you more often !
Being a science teacher the Drown Earth looks like a fantastic settin
Drowned Earth looks cool. wold love to paint some of the minins
What a giant packed show, grats to winners. Not just one interview, test of ho our rocks, I thought minis was from wargames factory and was low on detail sculpt, but looks awesome, also multikit. Downed earth idea seems cool, need to see more range
Shadowspine is telling me nothing maybe I jump first to cragmorgha reader than sigmar one fight!
Well done mates, have fun!
Thanks for the Show.
Drowned Earth looks great, design, background etc.
Solid weekenders with good interviews. Love the Drowned Earth Sculpts. Reming me a lot of the Freebooters Fate style. Just awesome.
And looking forward to all the goodies @oriskany will be bringing us in the future. Not that there weren’t enough in the past, but as with most things: can there ever be enough 😀 Good news indeed!
Looking forward to seeing what @oriskany comes up with! He’s done a lot of coold stuff before
The Drowned Earth looks very good, but I’m a bit conserned about the largerscale and and terrain density required.
Must admit I’ve got the whole Test of Honour on preorder. Should be here any day now!
Despite having too many games The Drowned Earth looks a must have.
This is a comment for loot, sad
Drowned Earth, wow that has just snuck up from nowhere….. I am amazed at guys that just seem to so effortlessly create an amazing looking game like this. The minis are awesome looking and have so much character, for demo units that is quite something. I also find it interesting that he is mixing different beings in factions. So often it would be the “gorillas” versus the “lizzards” or someone else. But here it seems to be alsorts in a “gang” so it should give you a lot of variety in your force but then the style of your gang will make the difference in playing style, I assume….nice I like it.
This was lovely!
Drowned Earth looks awesome! Looking forward to checking out the kickstarter.
The Drowned Earth looks VERY interesting. Shall be watching that one I think!
Can anyone fill me in on where warren has been? I’ve been missing him on the weekender.
I say the demo at Adepticon it was pretty sweet
Drowned Earth certainly looks interesting. One to consider.
With Drowned Earth I wounder if they are going to add in Centaurs and other more fantasy people. It does look like a fun game set in Africa instead of a more common setting. Got to see how t plays.
Great show!
I’m really liking the looking forward to Test of Honour and that the are using Wargames FActory miniatures really excites me as I think their quality is really really good for plastic.
The drowned earth is looking very tempting
Congratulations to @oriskany! Now set these guys up with some DBA action.
As for the blue mat, for me it is not useful. Perhaps it just doesn’t come across on video, but the color contrast is so slight as to be ignorable.
@beetle – De Bellis Antiquitatis? I found a small article about this online. Command-tactical level, ancients-Dark Age-Medieval? Looks pretty awesome! Do you play / have miniatures for this game?
DBA isn’t bad not the best but not bac
@oriskany, I don’t play it, but I hosted tournaments at a store I used to work for. It was a popular rules light game. We sold army packs from Essex (https://www.essexminiatures.co.uk/pages/15mm-dbav2-armies) and bases from Wargames Accessories (http://www.wargameaccessories.com/Products.htm). It is a cheap way for people to get into 15mm historical, with a simple rule set. I wish I still had the pictures we took for the games, but the store closed, and I didn’t manage to retain them.
I love the dinos in Drowned Earth 🙂
Really like the look of Drowned Earth, so many fantastic post apoc games to choose from nowadays, really hope it can take off.
Lovely show!
Thanks for another episode! I’m always curious about more samurai games.
Drowned Earth devinately looks like an interesting game. Looking forward to the let’s play
My Test of Honor preorder is on its way somewhere in the Atlantic, so I am happy to see it get some attention. However, Drowned Earth really caught my attention in a way I didn’t think it would. Might need to set some funds aside for that one. Also, your american accents are terrible, says the American with the cowboy Tintin avatar.
The Weekender was great!
WOW.
the Drowned Earth is slick and really well thought out. I haven’t been this interested in a skirmish game on KS since Guild Ball. Very impressed with how complete and well done this game is.
Great Kammandi /Jurassic Park mix and very solid rules!
Love the industrial terrain. Not such a fan of the mat. I think it looks good, but actually not very versatile because it’s too blue. I don’t think it looks very good with that terrain, or either of those armies, for example.
That said, I’d love to play a game of old school Necromunda on it. It would work really well with that old cardboard / plastic terrain.
Test of Honour looks interesting!
I’d love to try Drowned Earth!
Drowned Earth looks like it rox!
This weekender was great!
Looking forward to next week’s bootcamp – hope you will show the game in action.
This video was excellent!
The drowned earth starter box looks awesome.
Amazing show, wish I were at Adepticon this weekend!
Drowned Earth really has loads going for it with some truly innovative mechanics from what I’ve been able to pick up. Definitely looking forward to the kickstarter!
Oh wow! So many WIP, but so many more lovely minis……….. 🙂
I’m absolutely hype for The Drowned Earth, liking the art style and the movement system, getting enough terrain to make it a truly epic game is gunna be the biggest hindrance though, maybe using a bunch of my old necromunda stuff in the mean time would be a good call
The miniatures for Drowned Earth look great!
Really dig the vibe I’m getting from this game.
I’d love to paint that Mantis Blade Reptile 🙂
Been following the Drowned Earth for a while now – still liking the concept and approach; particularly appreciate a project lead who has realistic expectations and vision for their project
Really liking the looks of Test of Honour. I love Asian-themed games: Japanese, Chinese, and Korean-setting games have such a good sense of setting and present such great opportunities for designers and gamers.
This stuff looks GREAT! May have to get me some o that!
Drownded Earth- Brilliant looking for terrain!! Minis look great too…
the problem with warhammer total war is pc requirements :-/
Very nice miniatures in Drowned Earth!
