Morning
I gotta say, enforcer models look great. I’d play them.
I would go with the Forgefathers who doesnt love space dwarves!!
Happy Weekend!
I’ve already pledge for the Tyrant pledge on Warpath so I don’t think I need to win another Deadzone box :p
The Veer-myn look great. Mutant ships rats with armed with unstable chemical weapons, works for me.
I was hoping that the Marauders might get some love, but apparently they’re still not being addressed in the Kickstarter right now. Vermyn look cool, but having glued every finger I have to every other while trying to build the Vermyn from Project Pandora, I’m hesitant. I do love the Plastic Enforcers, and the jet bikes are awesome, so I guess I’ll go that route for now.
Yeah, it sucks for Marauder fans, but the reason they’re not in the KS is because they’re being completely redesigned, which will take a while. They should definitely be worth waiting for!
Warren it was Sylvester McCoy that fought the Candyman 🙂
Yeah much later. I forget the actor’s name but he used to shop at my folks’ market stall.
Morning! great show guys!
As for Warpath, I would go Veer-myn. All the way, always been fascinated with rat men, now rat men in space! sneaky and disgusting! RAT_MEN!!!!!
Morning All
Haha David Cameron’s pig will never get old.
That’s because it was dead.
I’m going all in on Warpath on to big armies of Veer-myn and Plague because the world needs more space rats and space zombies.
I also like zombies, so I’d choose the Plague 🙂
@warzan the Kandy Man faced off against Sylvester McCoy’s Dr, and his rather tasty (geddit) assistant Ace.
McCoy was my favorite Doctor, although I think ACE had quite a bit to do with it.
It’s the weekend!!
Interesting stuff, but not a lot to float my particular boat in this week’s episode, but as the hobby widens then you have to expect that every now and then.
Does the BattleZone terrain count as a faction?
I guess if pushed to choose a faction then the Asterian would be something I’d enjoy painting up.
ARGO Update!!
Update 4 on Argo KS has just announced…. “NOW WITH MINIATURES”… LOL
I asked my son to pick his favorite from Warpath, and he said the Enforcers look the coolest. So, if I win them, he gets them 🙂
Great show! It’s got to be Forge Fathers, something different to the usual space ‘marines’ enforcers and corporation. Though I’d love for the Z’zor to eventually get a force of critters!
For anyone looking to get into WW1 (Warren you’ll like this one) the ANZAC’s Miniseries is awesome for both watching as a series and seeing the tactics used in combat
Another great Weekender. Veer-Myn are my favorite faction for Warpath, Deadzone and Dreadball. Looking forward to playing them, got to love them space rats. Looking to get some Skaven to play as Ratkin in Kings of War. Must have a thing for those rats, I even play a Shaman in Shadowrun, with a Rat Totem.
Good morning! Forge Farthers because I never heard about space dwarfs who are totaly awesome.
I am not sure if I like team Yankee everything is way more deadly and this makes you lose units fast. This is not bad but I think people will play even more defensive and make it a shooting gallery.
Thanks for this video – it will be good for the campaign as well.
I’m in for Advanced warfare and a lot of add-ons.
I’m in for the Asterians. I really like the cypher concept and the look of the new battle droids.
Happy Saturday,
In Warpath I will take Veermyn because nothing is more cool than space Rat
I have pledged for the Total Warfare level. So I will be getting the starter set, the Forge Fathers Battle-group and the Forge Fathers Tanks Battle-group.
Enforcers to match my Iron Man paint scheme Dreadball team 😀
Already picked Dwarf Forge Fathers they look so awsome carnt wait to get them 🙂
Morning!
I have to say these previews have me quite curious for panzerfauste. I’ve been trying to get my gaming group interested. On the other hand, it’s yet another game that BoW have got me buying. I need to get stuff painted guys!
This show needs a bit more deadzone.
You really don’t make using and getting into airbrushes as easy as you claim.
“To do air brushing you need: this expensive confusing kit, this expensive confusing kit and this expensive confusing kit”
Put simply there is no magic bullet for this (yet)
Airbrushing has some basic needs that must be met (good controllable airflow being one)
We are trying to guide folk on how to have a reliable and enjoyable experience of airbrushing, not here’s how to spend the absolute minimum and only get it working for a few mins…
There are some reliable brands who are basically known quantities like badger, h&s and iwatta then there are lower cost alternatives that until tested are basically a stab in the dark. (They may be great, they may be safe but unless they are all tested you just won’t know.
In this particular vid were saying what features you need for different jobs and what steps to take in your journey.
1) base coating models is a great start and I have used some really cheap airbrushed to do it, they are even more convenient in some respects but need a good amount of air pressure to work.
2) stencils are your next step (and masking) but this time you must have a dual action airbrush as you need much more control over the paint flow.
Go and watch all the other stuff we have on airbrushing and more is on the way, but in a 30min segment this is just about pointing in the right direction.
Thanks for the sum up, I’ll keep an eye out for the new vids 🙂
I purchased a dual action airbrush after the last round of videos by Brian (I actually got mine from Brian and he was very helpful with identifying the bits if kit I would need). I joined backstage for all the extra airbrushing content so I could get an idea if it was for me (and discovered the rest of the wonderful backstage content too – great work BoW). The airbrush feels a bit weird and complex to begin with but it gets simpler with time and only took me a couple of sessions to get a feel for it. I am still learning basic techniques but it has revolutionised my painting, firstly the speed and secondly the effects I can create without much effort. For someone who is more interested in making models and playing games the airbrush has been a godsend to getting armies on the table. The initial outlay can be a bit steep but a few months of saving are well worth it and gives you a chance to catch up with some hobby projects in the interim. I took the plunge and was not disappointed.
i have owned an airbrush for many years it is a cheap syphon fed from a bottle single action it was fed by a can of air it put me off. after many years i then got a dual action iwata and a cheap compressor…it again put me off as the compessor was rubbish. just last week i took the plunge and got a decent compressor and a slightly cheaper air brush….bingo lights on all falling into place…so my advice buy the best compressor you can i have also ordered some cheaper dual action airbrushes off ebay will see how they work, but if they are rubbish i have not lost out as i will have base coating brushes.
I got into ABing by buying a cheapo $25aus AB from ebay. Granted the compressor was $90, but you don’t need to break the bank on the actual brush when you’re starting out. In fact I would counsel against it given how easy it is to break the brush as you learn how to clean and maintain it.
Still, I agree it’s not cheap to break into, but don’t get daunted looking at the $200 plus brushes. And as far as I’m concerned, it’s the best investment I’ve ever made in the hobby.
Veer-myn for me, I really like the Idea that any where that there is humans, there is giant SPACE rat hiding
Can’t wait for Warpath, been looking for a replacement for 40k for ages.
I too would play the forgefathers. I love dwarves in every game and these are so cool. I mean: just look at that tank.
Happy weekend
Loving the Enforcer dropship/bomber kit, so in lieu of the Corporation getting any love (YET!!) I guess I’ll have to go with the not-Space Marines 😉
Veer-myn are my first choice. I love the idea of rats-in-space.
Tough choice for me and it is between Enforcers and Asterians but I think the Enforcers win it because I really like the way they look.
i deffo want the Veer-myn.. Fell in love with them in Project Pandora. Plus, taking my enemies by surprise from behind is so Beasts of War baby!
Oh it has to be enforcers for warpath jet bike models cool……no wait space dwarves. No space rat men with big ray gun if they break 320,000 ahhh loads of brain eating zombies and plague.
Got it my favorite faction for warpath is ……all of them so pledging tyrant level to get all in one big greedy bundle.would like to point out I won’t be pledging but it would make a great Xmas surprise present….hint hint Trebor or Helena and might just be lucky and win here too.
Sacrifices being made to the gaming gods forthwith.
Zebra stripe stencil
Forge Fathers. Space Dwarves are cool. Tanks are cool. Artillery is cool. You can’t go wrong.
For me the Enforcers mainly because of the Accuser Interceptors. They’re awesome.
I would choose enforcers they look great and remind me of cerberus troops from ME3
FYI Argos KS is now going with miniatures due to backer wanting them.
I like the idea of the forge fathers and veer-myn, but in terms of models the enforcers are by far the cooleest
Enforcers. For two reasons – one, those jetbikes are supercool and two, when I move the models I can make CHNK CHNK! CHNK! noises. That’s why everyone chooses the heavy armour units, right?
I would play Enforcers in Warpath!
Good morning BoW team, The faction I would choose is Forge Fathers as they look awesome as there heavy armored guys and them models look great.
Great show guys as always and HAPPY SATURDAY!!!
I love the mutant rats it just seems so cool but I love the short stout armoured up dwarfs. I would pick the enforcers for their awesome dropship I would theme an army around thoses
I like the Plague army best from the kick starter. Although I would pick Corporation if It was on this kickstarted. A huge army of these in a simple colorsceme would look great on the tabletop.
Yeap Enforcers look really smart. Plus I would love to paint the minis.
I already have a Warpath 2.0 Forge Father army. But I am loving the look of that Batman tumbler inspired tank.
It’s a tough one. Enforcers or Asterians for me I reckon.
Enforcers just have it a the mo though, as Asterisks need a vehicle throwing in there to mix it up
Ooh bit ahead of myself! There is an asterian vehicle in the pipeline! Asterians it is!!!
I think I would go Veer-myn. Always liked the Skaven in WHFB.
Think it’s Forge Fathers for me… though Enforcers are extremely nice models.
Nice try guys. But next time two tanks crash through my street, I am NOT going “wow … just like ducks”.
The helicopter in the Rambo III was supposed to be a Soviet Hind D but was in fact a Puma with wings stuck on. They did the same in Red Dawn were the Puma was made to look like a Hind A.
Enforcers for the simple reason they have Interceptors and Jet bikes and look awesome!
Warpath and dreadball looks good
I’d choose Enforcers. Because I already have the beginnings of an enforcer army.
Forgefathers for me, I really miss the squats and these have the added bonus of no dodgy looking hats!!
Forge Fathers for me as the Dwarfs have been missing from futuristic wars for far too long
I think the GCPS have the potential to be awesome, if the concept is anything to go by. Who doesn’t like troopers in powered armour kicking butt. The other ranges are a little niche.
I picked up one of those single-action Spraycraft airbrushes that Warren mentioned the other week.
It’s… interesting…
Basically, it’s great at pumping out a lot of whatever you care to put in it. It’s not subtle or precise.
However, I’ve been using it for priming and it seems to work fairly well – bit of a learning curve as per usual.
I can’t say that I’d bother with it or recommend it if it wasn’t for one important feature.
You don’t have to clean it.
At all.
On that basis alone, it’s a pretty useful piece of kit. Plus the ability to swap out bottles so you can use whatever primer or varnish you want at the drop of a hat definitely means that it has a place in my armoury.
Re the use of gaming aids, I don’t mind looking up charts. I mean, the 40k to-hit charts were easy to memorize once you worked out the formula. I like that games are tactile and, depending on the game, require thought and study. Would I enjoy Infinity as much if I had an app doing all the thinking for me? Probably not, because I wouldn’t feel that it was MY plan that succeeded. I’d just be saying, “well, the phone won the game!”
I don’t know how many gamers are desperate for a way to distance themselves from working out modifiers and hit rolls, etc. My guess is, not many – after all, someone who hates tables and arithmetic is going to stick to games consoles and not touch 40k or Infinity with a barge-pole…?
I like to know the mechanics of a game. I don’t want them obscured, you know?
i’m going to gethe enforcers army.
By the way checking out previous vids because i am new to backstage if you are really after a mammoth you could get one of these
http://www.mirliton.it/product_info.php?pName=barbarian-war-mammoth&cName=fantasy-2528mm-barbarians
or even get a rhino
http://www.mirliton.it/product_info.php?pName=barbarian-war-rhino&cName=fantasy-2528mm-barbarians
getting the enforcers coz i like the models.
happy saturday ….plague for me followed by all the rest …..all too good not to have 🙂
Thanks for this great show and iam already pledging the warpath kickstarter and i want the asterians the most, because they look amazing !
I like painting more then gaming, and the Asterians look the most nice and elegant from the recent factions.
Got a hangover
I love the coporate Jetbike. Would love to paint them up and play then
it would be the Enforces just because I like the sculpts
I like the veer myn , the thought of using dodgey chem weapons and being able to tunnel behind the enemy to reek havoc sounds awesome .
The sweetie man was in a Sylvester McCoy Dr Who story line – now where’s my prize 😉
Yup, Bellatrix is right :
http://www.bbc.co.uk77doctorwho/classic/episodeguide/happinesspatrol/
Loved it though as it was basicly dr who with terry gilliam vibe as it reminded me a lot of “Brazil” and the like.
Those enforcer jet bikes look amazing.
If there was a faction in warpath that used all mechs I’d go with them, but since the forgefathers are the only side with a proper mech I’ll probably end up with the stunties…
Another vote for the Veer-myn. If their Dreadball stats are anything to go by, they ought to be rubbish at shooting but that’s ok – get more rats.
Rrats in spaaace! There’s nothing cooler than rats in spaaace!
Warpath: the hard part is settling on a race/faction as Mantic have made them so interesting. But something that appealed to me a lot about the first Deadzone was that the Marauders were the original super-soldiers employed by the Corporation. They are natural born warriors, cunning and fearless. It is a bit of a twist away from the ‘usual’ green horde of cannon-fodder. That really appeals to me, so, and I know they are not included in the current KS (yet!), I would go with them.
The Helicopter in rambo 3 btw, was a “hind” but it was actually a Puma with a plywood hind costume.
Space rats I would love to put bubble fish tank space helmets on them like the squirrel from Sponge Bob.
thinking on it Mantic do make clear space helmets for Mars Attacks…. oooo
The Happiness Patrol was the series name of the Candy man, had a Margaret Thatcher like tyrant leader, hey it was the 80s he killed people by drowning them in lemonade, it was seriously creepy
I do like the look for the forge fathers. Solid and resistant just like me lol
Nice show guys.
Im loving the Enforcers – for the vehicles! that flyer and the jetbikes, very smart.
The terrain is also very good imo. i’ve bought several boxes of the stuff to make up some scenery, massively versatile.
I too was hoping for marauders… and rebs! Looking forward to the next ks which will feature those factions. For now, it’s gotta be the forge fathers
Possibly Enforcers and / or corperation too
I would have to go with the Enforcers. I like humans over aliens (perhaps because I am human) and what is not to love about the jetbikes and interceptors?
Great show guys, I like the plague faction as you can include all the different races who have succumbed to the infection.
Hang on!
So we are getting a Doctor Who Board game and a Miniatures game?
Went in on Enforcers for the kickstarter. They got cool sci-fi super soldier look going on and it’s hard to say no to those jetbikes. I hope we might get alien mercs before the kickstarter end through
I would love to see the rebs in warpath, but of the armies currently therem I would have to go for the enforcers (plus, i love the interceptors…)
Ohh, that deadzone kit would be an awesome addition to the enforcer army I’m getting from the Kickstarter. Enforcers just look soo cool! All that big armour, they are the Warpath Space Marines, which you know what? I’m perfectly fine with that (even though I don’t play Space Marines), and the lore behind them is pretty cool too, made to be fanatically loyal, but they aren’t some boring drones-like soldiers, they actually have personalities and individuality, provided they are loyal to the council, a nice twist on a slightly crowded scene. Also they look awesome, did I mention that?
I think I would go Asterians because I like figures that I can use in as many games as possible and they could be OMAC type drones in my tabletop superhero RPG.
TEAM YANKEE BOOTCAMP!!!
How can I possibly justify the expense a month before Xmas…think..think..SHE must understand..surely she won’t mind..or would she? 24hrs to convince her..argh.
Hi!
As always I’d play dwarves, so I’d choose forge fathers – maybe just out of convenience..
I already have Enforcers and Asterians in my collection, next on my list are the Forge Fathers.
Definitely Asterians for me, especially once that transport gets unlocked.
On my YouTube post I put Plague as my army of choice for the modelling potential, but here I am going to point out the other one I am really looking forward to.
The Corporation. The concept is just brilliant, the humans are really if not quite the ‘bad guy’, certainly NOT the good guys.
The art for those rangers looks immense, sure, there are plenty of near-future type soldiers of that type coming out, but they are mostly resin and expensive. Mantic’s are plastic and cheap enough to field 200 of, l can’t think of anything better than a huge army of morally ambivalent humans with laser guns. Just bring on the tank please!
Forge Fathers, just look at them, wee tanks
As soon as I saw that Team Yankee was going to be a thing, I became very excited. I’m terrain building like crazy to get a 15mm table ready for it.
I love the enforcers in deadzone so I reckon I’ll be pledging for them.
for me it would be the forge fathers squats for the win
Great show lads. I clicked on to the Argo Kickstarter and the first thing I read was they are now going ahead with minis! Warren, if you are giving your dice the clap have you thought about penicillin?
There’s no choice, really. Forgefathers!
Warpath looks awesome but i can’t add ANOTHER system and another set of minis to add to the pile that i havent built yet!!
I really love the look of the Asterians… Their rules looked interesting as well
Might seem dull – but I would probably go Enforcers (love the look – maybe go for a Dredd inspired scheme) with a secondary glance towards Plague (Gotta Infect em All) – – although a possible WARPATH Ogre(ish) army would certainly take the charge!
Justin… watch Time-Bandits – well worth it!
Warren… watch Terminator Genesys – well worth it!
Pledged for the Enforcers 🙂
Space Dwarfs’…yes please so that’s forge fathers for me then. Like the fact mantic are thinking about different entry levels to their games. For some they just want Deadzone level gaming that takes minimal space and can be played in an hour or two. Then you can take it from there a great way to get new people into the hobby without a massive investment both from a money and time perspective and Deadzone is a brilliant starting point ad there’s proper terrain in the box so that gaming experience will be great from the outset. Battlefront really are cracking the stuff out atm, Team Yankee Bootcamp nice catch BOW 😉 and Captain Nemo themed Great War army just do it although Johns eye ball roll at the thought did make me chuckle… The huge Dragon born is quite clear from giant blood but he ate the eat me mini mushroom and then got stuck in the dungeon when its effects worn off… Anyways happy weekend all
Veermyn would be my chosen faction initially. As a die hard greenskin player Marauders are off the table currently and although I owned a massive Squat brotherhood back in the day the Forgefathers don’t quite hit the mark for me aesthetically. The Veermyn are something new. Something fresh for me. I already own a ton of models for a ton of gaming systems and now I can have space rats too.
Plague! Definitely. And I’m looking forward to seeing more of their stuff in the Warpath KS
I’d go Plague because I want to see what they get for flyers and instead of vehicles. I want monsters. What happens when a space rhino or space lion or space giant eagle gets infected?
For Warpath, it has to be the Forgefathers.
I also think that the concepts for the Corporation Rangers look great. I really hope that they are funded during this KS.
Mantic now just needs GW to announce a new edition of 40k, which has no points values and rules that fit on a postage stamp, and they will be laughing all the way to the bank.
Don’t care about any of the doctors except perhaps hartnell, pertwee and mccoy, I just want a massive Dalek army dammit!
My husband and I are backing Warpath for Plague, Veer-Myn, Forge Fathers, and Asterians. Dwarves are always my favorite and Asterians are another of my favorite factions in Deadzone.
I’d go for the Plague as I already have most of the others for Dreadball
Gotta be the Rebs. Those misfits need some love.
I’m at Ultimate Tyrant, and I will be getting full up of Veer-Myn vs. Forge Fathers. I like the thought of these two battling it out down in huge, underground caverns dug out by the Tunneler. I might get some of the new stuff from the other factions as well, just to have a core to build on to if/when I get my friends into Warpath 😛
I like the Enforcer models best. Jumping out of planes with jetpacks rocks.
Morning
There are two races on the new Mantic kick starter I like Veer-myn , as have been a long time skaven player, but also like the look of the new Asterian troops
I’m pledging for the Operation: Heracles 2 player starter plus Enforcer and Forge Father battlegroups to flesh out both factions into whole armies. I will probably grab the two matching vehicle battlegroups during the pledge manager period to finish them both off with some heavy firepower.
I’m going for the forgefathers definitely
Herein lies my problem. I have a seriously nasty case of “shiny-object” syndrome made no less harmful by the beautiful sculpts of most of what I see on the Warpath Kickstarter. However, I think I have decided that, if I get stuck in (and who am I kidding, I have with Dungeon Saga and with the most recent Deadzone KS), I will like choose the pledge that gets me the enforcers as I simply love the overall aesthetic of those minis and the flier and the jet bikes perfectly fit their looks.
However, at only $75 more, my minds keeps saying “why not add the plague army?” or “those ver-mynn would be a great addition, right?” The upside of the enforcers and the plague is that they will fit right in to Deadline as well (a game that is ridiculously fun for how easy it is to get stuck into, but complex enough to allow for numerous games using the exact same models as you change strategies).
Ok, you all have convinced me, all THREE IT IS!!! 😉
Cheers!
Lolz….glad I’m not the only one was a case of the shineys this week…..
Doctor Who The Candyman, was the 7th Doctor,Sylvester McCoy.
all i have to say is the forge fathers look great
I would go Forge Fathers, really like the bulky and blocky armour, also I think tanks are cool. Finally hitting hard and tanking shots is my kind of play style so I think they would be great.
Enforcers, flyers, Lt. Roca, jet bikes. Need I say more.
Asterian all the way for me… unless maybe if they unlocks the rebs.
Enforcers look the best to me.
I like the armor styling.
And the vehicles are great.
Asterians come second.
Warpath Forge Farthers – would prefer brokkrs but wouldn’t expect them to have their own faction
I would have gone for Rebs if they included them in this kickstarter. I think Ronnie said in a Q&A that they aren’t sure how to really do them properly. Personally I’d like them to go for a mix of looted/altered vehicles and large organic creatures. Say instead of just jetbikes maybe some of the smaller creatures atop large beasts or flying creatures with a hit and run approach.
I hope they actually make the rules for Rebs enjoyable because in deadzone they just fell short.
To me Rebs feel the most Original and could really have them stand out if they do them right.
Ok, I have checked that Kickstarter and I have to say, that I’d use Plauge, Enforcers and Asterians in my Dark Heresy or Only War campaigns. I often put my inquisitorial henchemens on the God emperor forsaken planets where they can meet all the different Xenos, Mutants and Heretics. It’s nice because there is more and more minis I can use for the campaings, the one thing I’m still missing and connot find is just a cheap casual imperial citizens.
Mantic. Their minis have been more miss then hit for me for some time and so far that is still the case. I love their terrain they come out with. And also they picked up all the orphans from GW’s Sacrifice of Fantasy Battles. They have come out with some nice Minis, Like those new Dwarf Steel Warriors. But they have not come out with a complete range that I want to buy. Maybe their Rebels or non-Enforcer human forces might do it for me. Maybe all it will take is a game or two under my belt to figure things out.
For this Warpath Kickstarter, the Enforcer models are looking better than they did before, but I would still pick the Veer-myn, because they have so much more character. The Asterians are a good idea, but, like their Kings of War counterparts, they’re just too spindly for my tastes.
@lloyd
I think the troll looks like Liam Neeson…
Forge Fathers.. because stumpies are badass
So…Curis also went to GW? Kinda sucks…GW is still THE place to work in the industrie it seems.
Got to be the plage, who can resist to that big beast, release the terror!!
I’m in for Advanced Warfare at the minute. The Operation:Heracles starter will boost my DZ Enforcers and FFs nicely.
I could possibly be tempted to upgrade to Total Warfare though. Operation: Heracles and a Veer-Myn and Asterian Battlegrounds.
Of them all, though, I think Asterians are my favourite. I love the Weapon Platforms and the whole army appeals to the former Eldar player in me.
Love it, I was able to snag an EB! I still might jump to the total war pledge before it is over. Thanks for covering this!!
I would roll with the Enforcers. Typically I stay away from ‘Corporate’ and ‘human’ armies, but I really like the design on these super soldiers.
Such details on those models, love them.
The Warzone II KS is looking great. I’d jump into the $120 level if I was working (probably not for another week or two, so too late.) Either way, I want to build a force of cheddar cheese colored Veer-Myn to scurry around cargo haulers and infest the tunnels of distant moons. And the terrain sets would work for everything, including Bolt Action and Chain of Command (if you squint a little.) Thanks for the contest.
I like the Asterians. I realize they are essentially supposed to be elves in space utilizing remote bio-mechanical constructs but they feel more unique. The other factions and races feel like something that has been done, humans, dwarves, plague, etc. It isn’t that they aren’t unique because I love the miniatures. I just like how the Asterian have a more unique look. Being a scifi fan too there is something appealing about operating robots for warfare. Not to mention they are robots, who doesn’t like mecha.
To be fair though I’d also rather have Corporation but since they aren’t unlocked yet, Asterians are definitely the choice.
The WARPATH II KS is looking great. I’d jump into the $120 level if I was working (probably not for another week or two, so too late.) Either way, I want to build a force of cheddar cheese colored Veer-Myn to scurry around cargo haulers and infest the tunnels of distant moons. Veer-myn for me. So awesome in a freakish way!
I was just growling at Warren for corrupting yet another sweet historical scenario but then he said, “Captain Nemo army”. And those French tanks look so Sci-Fi. Oh the shame but I do love this idea.
See see!!!! I’m not mad at all lol 😉
perhaps a wee bit?
If I was going to back the Warpath2 Kickstarter I’d go for the Forgefathers to convert into Chaos Squats (well, I suppose they’d be Abyssal Forgefathers for Warpath 😉 ). Nice minis and really like the look of their tanks. Also like the look of the Vyrmen driller tank – I can see that being used in various fantasy games as a Dwarf or Gnome invention :). The point Stuart raised about how you can start with Deadzone, expand into Firefight and then again into Warpath is something I think GW should have done with Fantasy instead of nuking it and replacing it with AoS – they should have brought out a Mordheim level game as a gateway which then expands into small games of Fantasy which expands into mass battles.
Re: Doctor Who – fairly sure it was Sylvester McCoy who faced the Candyman.
@justin: don’t worry, you may not live down trying to escape space station Argos, but Warren’s not going to live down giving his dice the clap ;p
I fell in love with the Enforcers when Warren played a game of Warpath at the beginning of the year and loved the aesthetic to them and the fact they are jump troops naturally. I loved jump packs for assault sqds in 40k and these are one step further from the looks of the vehicles. I was always envious of the elder jetbikes, being a marine player (even though early edition 40k did have marine jetbikes). Well done Mantic you’ve hit a six with me with the new Warpath…..never thought I’d like sci-fi 28mm again, but you’ve done for me with the new game. Thanks BoW for bringing this out
wheres my warpath calamari !?!
My faction choice would have to be the Rebs. I love the variety in the models and races. Fantastic game that does not get as much love as it deserves. The terrain rocks and all war gamers should have it for other games outside deadzone
I’m in for the new veermyn models, to join my DZ:I ones when they arrive. Very impressive new range from Mantic.
regarding the warpath kickstarter, i’d pick the enforcer or the forge fathers… luckily, they’re both in the starter box!
Love those organic airbrush stencils, definitely going to check them out. As for deadzone, I’m always the evil dude, so I’d go with plague for no other reason than that 😛
I would go for the enforcers seeing thous jet bikes and the flyer in the show is what relay pushed me over to them. On the other note i am relay happy you incorporated the news section in the show thers so much cool stuff coming out thees days its good to get some of it served on the silver plate 🙂
Enforcers, probably. At least until the Rebs are released for Warpath.
The first time I played Deadzone with the Asterians they became my favorite faction. I really like their ability to shoot, and I really liked the smoke defense. I hope that Warpath keeps their ability to drop smoke. I wanted to like Veer-myn as they are my favorite Dreadball team, but I wasn’t as thrilled by the new sculpts unfortunately. Still, if they play well enough, they might be able to climb their way up.
Now Warpath is looking good. Asterians would be the way to go for me.
The original models from the very first Deadzone were a little lacking do to the funky material they are made from. The plastistic however are top notch. I always have a warm spot for Dwarves since I got into gaming in the very early 80’s playing AD&D. There nothing like assaulting with a group of those strong, short little bastards with a low center of gravity.
that Justin has not seen Time Bandits is a travesty and he must shave his beard.
Well I can’t pick more than one so I will have to go with the Plague! They have the potential to have plague versions of everything! And there models have been getting better and better each time, more multi-part kits and more interchangeable parts.
And of course the phase 4 Plague Berserker reminds of the Berserker from Gears of War.
warpath woah! nice prizes for some lucky few
The Warpath race I would choose is the Plague. I love the concept, though not original, of humans and other races mutated by an alien virus. Also the Deadzone Plague commander model is awesome, with its bony plates formed out of mutated flesh.
Concerning the contest – looked at Warpath and it looks like a great universe. I would without question go for the Forge Father. I have always played the dwarfs, and I realy like the initial description of this race. In addition, the models are beautiful, and will be fun to paint. I would probably not go with this paint scheme though.
Hmm, I’ve pledged for the Warpath KS, although I’m still deciding on which force to choose. I’ll probably go with the Enforcers but will fill out the Forge Fathers and Asterians as well. Do the Asterians get a tank? And why did the Enforcers change color scheme? Did the white get too hard to keep clean when done in large numbers?
As an aside, it was BoW that got me into Deadzone with the unboxing and it’s been downhill ever since.
Great Morning!
First, thanks beast of war for being awesome and having such and attention to detail in all of your media outlets! Your the best feed I have on all of them for miniatures!
I would chose the Enforcer! The tech, the bikes and the over all feel of order just ring my bell! Not to mention they look really cool!
Cheers,
~Devin
The enforcer faction is looking really good for Warpath. Hopefully they develop the Asterians just as much. So many models to buy.
Happy Saturday folks!
So, Warpath….. has to be Forge Fathers. Ye olde gamers like me still remember Squats and these guys could fill that gap nicely
Excellent show as usual. I would have to pick the Forge Fathers; how can you not like a stubborn Space Dwarf and as my wife keeps reminding me that I am not the most stubborn thing in the universe we gave the space dwarfs.
I already picked Forge Fathers because I’m going to share the 2 players starter set with a friend who wants Enforcers. Looking at how KoW 2nd edition goes, I trust Mantic will produce a rather great game..
Good afternoon, great show,
Team Yankee is looking good.
Mantic is really looking good these days KoW is great and Warpath 2.0 is looking pretty good as well. Hard to pick a faction as I like them all but the enforcer jet bikes are really nice are the Veer-myn in general.
I’m very interested in Enforcers because i already have a lot of them and they have that Mass Effect vibe that i love, but since everyone here also want them i might go for a second army and that could be :
Marauders : if they ever ended up being part of this KS o would love to have them because they are smart Orcs and i like that a lot.
Forge Fathers : MY FACE IS MY SHIELD!!! XD They look amazing.
Asterians : Really nice curves and i would love to mix them with some Dark Eldar.
Great show as always guys…. Warren not sure about why your so keen to give your dice the clap? Johns face was priceless when you were discussing this….. anyway Enforcers look like a awesome faction to get into. I reckon I could do a bit with basing and colours to turn them into a really narly looking elite force.
Creature feature stencil suggestion: Veins, scar tissue, ripped/cut skin (claw/sword slashes)
A space rat or space dwarf is a hard decision but the space dwarf has to take it. Just the overall look of these figures is great and I’m sure they’ll play great, armoured gun toting dwarves in heavy armoured vehicles, you can’t beat that.
Absolute favorite is rebz, Veermyn gets second place as they got the tunneler!
Forge fathers for the win
Yes, I’d very much like that DeadZone set. It would go together nicely with the big BattleZones box Warren got me to buy due to the big Summer Terrain Challenge. (Never got it finished in time though.)
My Warpath force of choice will be the Enforcers, just for the way too cool speeder bikes. In fact I might just pledge for the big set of bikes. Just so I can play out jetbike races with them.
Forge fathers sound like really cool.
As soon as they put them in I’ll be going for the Corporation, and the Forge Fathers for my brother. If they don’t add corporation I doubt I’ll back since I don’t like any of the other factions enough. We shall see.
This talk of airbrushing has prompted me to go back and watch your intro to airbrushing videos today. Something I’ve been meaning to do since I bout mine back in february and signed up for BS a few months later. Watching them I’d say they are interesting but they could be more useful. Here’s what id like to see if you make more:
1: Have a newbie do whats being done, supervised by a teacher. Preferably someone whose not a very good painter (Justin?). Then they will make all the mistakes and misunderstand the teacher for us so we can do better. When an expert shows you something they will usually skip telling you some things they think are so basic they don’t remember ever needing to be told it themselves. Like what pressure is the compressor running? How far away should you hold the brush and how far down should you hold the button to get that effect. Whats the paint/thinner ratio?
2: Have them teach something like a class that we are expected to emulate at home to teach us the skill. As such start the video (or end the previous video) with a shopping list of stuff to have ready. The test model should be something cheap and universally available, like an old cola bottle to begin with. If you demonstrate on an expensive model those of us who don’t play the game its from won’t buy it. Its very helpful to be able to compare my work to an identical piece when learning new stuff. Don’t be afraid to tell us to pause the video while we try something. Set us work, pssibly even homework. Run not just a real class, but a whole course please.
3: Start by assuming we know nothing. Treat us like idiots and assume we can’t figure out anything for ourselves. Assume we will get the paint/thinner mix wrong. Assume we will be heavy handed with the trigger. Assume we will have way too much pressure or not enough unless we are constantly told whats what.
4: When demonstrating effects seeing them applied with shades and higlights is very useful, but when demonstrating where the spay is going using a light blue on a slightly darker blue is not very clear. Doing things twice, once for real, and once with 2 contrasting colours is very helpful. In many of Romain’s videos I cannot tell what he is doing as I can’t see the difference in the colours as he goes.
5: A “painters eye view” camera might be useful for close up airbrushing. A camera at 90 degrees to the spray can’t always see whats happening.
When painting a model don’t just demonstrate a technique on it. You might not have time and it might not be relevant to finish the piece off, but a quick explanation of whats left to do is always appreciated. I’ve just watched those videos on the Anarachy flame stencils. They work like a charm, but that tank looked horrible because it lacked depth and everything was too crisp. Was that it done? Would it get some washes and if so what/how? If thats the finished effect then thats something I wouldn’t want to do.
I’m moaning and I’m ungrateful I know, but if you don’t ask you don’t get. And if you don’t tell people how to improve how are they to know? Its been 240 days since your last noob guide to airbrushing. It would be good to see more, and for you to go more in depth. All I do is priming and the first base colour. I’d love to learn to do more but I lack the confidence, or any understanding of what I should be able to do. I’m heavy handed. I have digital fingers (When it comes to controlling analogue buttons etc they are either off or all they way down. I don’t really have a half way). I’ve had a run of no paint coming out of my airbrush recently and i don’t understand why it happens when it does.
Overall I agree that a complete noobs guide to the airbrush would be a good series, cover the basics, paint thinning, pressure, cleaning and trouble shooting. I’m fairly new to the airbrush too and feel the beginners vids certainly could be improved upon although I appreciate there is probably some constraints when filming too.. As far as paint not coming out when your airbrushing could be paint drying in the nozzle/tip a cotton bud soaked in thinner and then wiped around the tip usually sorts that issue out, if its still persist a complete break down and clean then try again.
forge fathers all day long. love concepts for FF tank
I’d take Veer-myn because everyone knows that ships have rats so spaceships must have space rats! Its logical. Plus they can chew your face off while you sleep 🙂
Forge Fathers because everyone loves greedy little Santas even shaven ones
One major thing, I actually don’t mind standees in the slightest. In fact, I’d actually prefer to see more games using them over minis for the baseline.
Heresy, perhaps, but the minis cost quite a bit more to design, manufacture, and ship…meaning that the game itself would be cheaper to buy at the basic level. Having the minis as something that you can buy as an extra means that if you like the game, you can improve it, and if you like the minis but the game doesn’t appeal to you, well, you can buy the minis without the game.
In the end, it’s becoming harder and harder to get games that aren’t in the “classics” area of monopoly or similar because of the costs going up, and the looming shadow of minis over it tends to increase the rate of that trend.
I love good minis, I just like to be able to play the games and get a copy of them without burning through a months entertainment funds in the process for a single game.
I’m going for plague as there nothing else like them
Dorfs in space for me, Forgefathers look very interesting.
I like the look of the Asterians in Warpath. You’ve got bows mixed with floating turrets and laser rifles. Plus, you only have to paint a single eye on each of them 😉
I simply love the Enforcers. Their Interceptor and jetbikes are just to cool its a must have!
well I have backed the deadzone infestation kickstarter and the Warpath Kickstarter so I am picking Asterian. I’m receiving some ver-myn and enforcers already and the look of the Asterian is my cup of tea. I like the thought of commanding my team of droids as we sweep the battlefield. Sooo now I just need a nice big vehicle for them
Forgefathers. Because Beard.
I picked up a sealed box of the older restic Enforcers for a very good price recently, which has given me a good starting point into the world(s) of Warpath. Looking at the other races, I think the Asterians are the most appealing as they are quite different and have a rather fresh vibe. Although the Forge Fathers are ringing that nostalgia bell…
As a big fan of the Portal video games, I’m very interested in seeing how well it translates into a boardgame
DARNNNN YOUUU BEASTTT OFFF WARRR !!!
I have just gone in at the $425 pledge level.
Hard to say I loves me my armored space marines especially when they have a Mass Effect look of the Enforcers
But
I also loves me my SCI FI Anime / Manga Robots of the Asterians.
But
I started war gaming with WH40K Rogue Trader and loved the Space Skaven , So the
Veer-Myn is so tempting
Hmmm !!!
But the Plague Oh!!! the Plague
GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH !!!
I guess it has to be The URMMM!!! Enforcer-Plague-Asterian-VEER-MYN urmmm!!! is that a faction
But seriously it has to be the Veer-Myn
Looking forward to getting into the Enforcers in Warpath, got a nice start with my Deadzone Kickstarter stuff.
On the airbrush front I got one this summer, went and got a compressor with a tank and a reasonable Veda Airbrush which works nicely. So far I’ve only had time to use it twice as I need to use it outside (no dedicated workspace inside), but enjoying it so far.
As for Warpath.. I’m still hooked on the PLAGUE!!! the new dogs look great!!! the new plastic Stage 3 models are awesome!!! and combined with Plague Zombies and all the conversion potential of taking Enforcer and GCPS vehicles and “plaguerizing them”.. sign me up.. really looking forward to seeing the Firefight rules too.. I’m a huge fan of Deadzone but feel like it is just slighlty too small of a game.. looking forward to the re-write.. looking forward to the veer-myn and pathfinders in Deadzone:Infestation, and now looking forward to the plastic Plague (& of course more asterians, forge fathers, and whatever else we unlock)…
Happy Saturday!
As for Warpath factions, I think it has to be the Asterians; we have too many human and “Undead” factions accross the flood of new games out there so that really only leaves three. The Asterians have such a Cylon feel to them and I think they would look great airbrushed with Realistic metals
Now opting in for the Asterians, just because of their flyer 🙂
Austrians. Non terminator style robots. Fantastic.Who could not use more Dead zone. I have to check out the Anarchy stencils also.
That flyer is so nice, if it has the right scale, I might get one just as a terrain piece for Infinity.
Veer-myn space rats how can you not want space rats with a tunneller. Or Asterian space elfs with may GW space elfs
Morning All
Warpath is a tough one. Just got my KoW KS and thus I am already behind on Mantic put togethers…
I’d kind of like to see the Rebels, they were the faction I was looking at in Deadzone, but of the ones current. Oh man its a toss up, based purely on looks, between the Enforcers for bulky industrial sci-fi or Forge Fathers for being Dwarves in Space. Of the two I lean more toward Enforcers right now because those flyers would be amazing to play double duty and be static terrain in a smaller scale sci-fi skirmish game. But man….Dwarves…in space.
Stupid finite amount of money!
Forge Fathers because I all way love Dwarfs
Enforcers, for the interceptor and jetbikes.
great show guys love the new stuff coming out the new paint stencils look brilliant.
space rats if I win.
I would go for the ASTERIANS…I just love the robotic-elf look. The design is sleek and slender and they seem like the technologically superior race with gravcannons. Space-elves! Whats not to like?!!!
I am really likeing the look of the Asterian, I think it’s a fresh look and somthing different from the others. Very impressed.
I like the look of the enforces. but I love the fluff and look of the rebels from Deadzone.
Once Warpath 2 comes out I’m going to pick up the Enforcers. Both the story and the look appeal to me. I’m going with a black and gold color scheme.
I love Justin’s catchphrase I’m never going to live this down 😉
thanks for another great show guys!
I’ve already selected the Enforcers and the Forgefathers in the Kickstarters, the new Pathfinder are really nice and the Interceptor: wow!
Cya tomorow
Gotta be Enforcers for me. Ive always liked the idea of Hi tech, corporate backed PMC’s. They have cool looking vehicles which sells it for me 🙂
FF or VM … both sci fi races GW bailed on.
I got myself a dual action airbrush from Iwata and have only done priming and base coats so far. It just seems so intimidating to take the leap into doing fades and shading with one. I feel rather ashamed that I have not even tried as it seems so hard to pull off right.
I’ve been looking at getting ito Warpath – Asterians seems like they might be the ones for me, a very different vibe stylistically from the other factions.
I went and bought a (cheap) dual-action airbrush after last year’s series and my experience was similar to that described — I started by loving the possibilities, then had a few issues with consistency and the like, then ended up by just finding it useful for “advanced” base coating and not much else. Cleaning is such a pain! Stencils could be a great way to take the next step, I’ll look to get a better airbrush in the coming months.
Enforcers all the way! Intergalactic space bullys!
Got to be the plague for me. Love the undeadish things.
Hope they play like the Reavers from Serenity.
Would play Forge Fathers in a heartbeat being able to actually play Space Dwarves
The terrain looks amazing! And of course the enforcers look sweet (jet bikes!!)
I’ve been waiting for the Warpath kickstarter for a while now. Just took the plunge and upgraded to a Ultimate Tyrant pledge. That’s 3 Veer-myn options for me and 3 Plague options for the wife :).
Great to see another airbrushing segment, I’m thinking I’ll jump onto the stencils kickstarter this time round.
Definitely the asterisms, love those curves 🙂
I mean asterians, damn auto correct
Forgefathers…. I’ve always loved the look of this race since Dreadball and space dwarves are just too good to pass up.
Great show guys… Got to look in to airbrushing.
I got an Early Bird pledge for Warpath. May up it to get 3 battle groups Enforcers because of those jetbikes & fliers.
The Enforcers, particularly the flyer are awesome.
Hoping to see some Marauder stuff on the Kickstarter too.
Got to be Enforcers for hose beautiful jetbikes and fliers. Got an Early Bird pledge in but may be upping to get the whole army.
If they made the Mark V tank today….they would have to add a “transgender” variant.
I remember few years ago, i ve bought a five enforcers box and i was completely amazed. Low price, plastic box and good quality miniatures . Since then i ve bought every game. I was waiting so hard warpath going that way on Kickstarter. So so Great
Enjoyable show. I like the look of the stencils, although I’m yet to get an airbrush so not much use personally at the minute. To be honest I’ve always been useless at painting tanks but with a new WW2 project soon to be started I may have to learn.
On the warpath side of things, I do love the Forge Fathers, partially because I find they fill a bit of a gap and I also like the way mantic do Dwarves, be they space or fantasy. I find them much more sensibly proportioned than some others I’ve seen.
I already have Ver-mynn army for warpath and I am disappointed with vehicle for my army. Fluff wise it make sense BUT its no where near awesome tanks or flyers other races have. and Justin – I liked new terminator – its great movie.
As I have Deadzone it has to be Corporation Enforcers for Warpath will have to wait for retail as afraid lack of pennies and pounds means Kickstarter not an option for me 🙁
Always love to see Mantic in the show!
Love the Forgefathers and the Asterians. I think I’ll be picking up some Asterians as I like the background of them being puppets to a greater power…. plus the new plastics look epic!
Veer-Myn are the race for me, The tunnelers rising from the ground with a near endless stream of Veer-Myn attaking will be a sight to behold and be feared. Cannot wait.
Woo deadzone warpath awesomeness! Lovin the look of the Asterian robot army and their different style. Still crossing fingers funding blows up to support Rebs as an option 🙂
another quality start to the weekend even though i viewed it late after a local charity warmachine tournament tired beyond belief.
veer myn for me space skaven whats not to love
Im really excited for the Asterians because their rather unique.
Morning. Must say I’m tempted by the Veer-Myn and Plague (swarming over other players defenses) BUT, I’m going to pick up some Enforcers because I love their armour and big guns! Plus the Interceptor is really exciting. Dropping hard hitting Enforcer squads into the heat of battle. Amazing scenes!
Good show guys, didn’t know they were making a portal boardgame.
Re warpath i would go with the plague, zombie hordes ftw
Great weekender, although normally good with Warren at the helm.
As for Deadzone, initially it’s the Asterians, but then the Enforcers are great, love the flyers, forgefather tanks are just amazing, and I do like the veermyn tunnellers. and plastic plague. Can I have them all….but what I think would be really cool, Rebs using re-purposed civilian tech with guns, hover car technical & hover trucks…perhaps in the next kickstarter.
It must be Plague. Totally unique for the Mantic universe and the miniatures are cool. Not speaking of the background story.
The Enforcers. I’d love to put together a campaign game where everyone played corporate enforcer teams, earning cash, buying weapons and gear, competing to hire special characters.
I think the Forgefathers in Warpath look like the faction for me, although the Enforcers are a close second!
I like standees. It makes the game cheaper and good looking standees are better than half cooked minis. In my opinion we are being overloaded with boardgames dressed as miniature games.
If things go as planned and my sons continue showing an interest in daddies toy soldiers, I’m planning on warpath as their first wargame.
What will I play? Well that depends on what they will choose to play, but it will be either enforces, plague or forgefathers. They’ll have first choice ofcourse.
Sounds like a good plan, I’m in a similar situation. Not sure what wargame I’ll start them on but at least nowadays the options are ever-growing! My wargaming purchases these days seem dependent on the giving my kids gaming options, If they decide wargaming is not for them though I’m going to have a lot of shiny toys getting no love
I want to take the plague because they scratch that gribbly itch so well and they can infect other races for more hybrid units galore.
Got to be the GCPS, I’m loving the concept art so I’m hoping it gets the new faction slot!!
Forge Fathers, after having over 1200 DWARF fantasy minis, the only way to go future warfare.
The Veermyn and Plague factions are looking the most interesting to me (yes, I like poor and dirty hordes…) although I would love to see the Corporation line expanded too.
At some point, not necessarily as part of this kickstarter, I’d like to see the Rebs being able to be fielded. Perhaps not as a full scale army, but as an element in a larger game.
Oh, forgot to add that a creature feature airbrushing stencil i’d like is tiger stripes!
Perhaps in two different sizes: one for 28mm scale tanks, etc. The other for 10/15mm scale armour and segmented body armour being worn by 28mm scale infantry.
Im liking the new asterian infantry but i think the old dwarf bias in me keeps pulling me back towards forge fathers and those chunky contraptions!
Great show as ever.
Warpath team: I would probably pick the Plague. I looks like it can end up being a good, almost horde army. Getting up close and personal. Plus as they are plagued and mutated, think of all the conversions and extra bits like extra heads, tentacles, etc that can be added to increase the plagued look. Plus, watch the movie “The Thing” with Kurt Russell and I think that is full of Plague inspiration.
I am really interested in the plastic Warpath Asterian Infantry. Perhaps more airbrushing will allow me to paint all the stuff I have collected.
I shouldn’t buy any more game systems but i think ill end buying at least that jet-bike formation, they look amazing. So its enforcers all the way.
Enforcers for me, I’m all about enforcement.
Having had a squat army before GW wrote them out, I’d have to go with Forge-fathers, especially as they have the Iron-Ancestors.
Love DeadZone and I am really looking forward to Team Yankee
I tam going to go Plague and Enforcers in Warpath and then they could also fit into Dustuse them with my DeadZone
Honestly I have been waiting for Corporation. Once they have hard plastic infantry and some type of tank I would go all out. I mean, I already love KoW and I am certain I will love warpaths rules too.
Man, those Warpath Enforcers jetbikes are incredible. Even if I never end up playing the game, I think I’d need to pick some up. But, yeah, I suppose they’d be my race choice for the game as a result 😉
Already pledged and will be waiting on the Forge Fathers – but want all the vehicles!
I gotta go with FORGEFATHERS! It’s been waaaaaaayyyyy to llllllooooooooonnnnnnnnnggggggg since I could field Space Dwarfs(squats). I friggen love these models.
Love those damn space dwarves models but I’m afraid of what will happen if I start collecting another game. Huge, large scale usually come with a cost to match…
Now the firefight rules, I’d love to have a look at that!
Warpath looks pretty cool, but not sure if I will be jumping into the kickstarter on this one. too many other games…lol
As to a race I would choose the Veermyn simply becase I was always a fan of the ratman type races nothing to scientific about it really:-)
The marauder startergroup looks really good. Love the individuality of the like the gabo with the rifle. Been sneaking glanses at Deadzone for a while now. Would love to dive in with the greenskins!
When are you going to run a Warpath boot camp? If I had to make a choice I would only go with Enforcers. Luckily I don’t need to make that draconian of a choice and am getting a bit of everything.
So, on Warpath my favorit would have to be the plauge, simlply beacause I have never painted any such faction before… would be something fresh (!!) for me.
Veer-myn with their sneaking and spying and chittering, gnawing away at the corporation from the indside, that’ll teach them not to experiment on rats
I dont know how anyone doesn’t start off picking the Plague. I dont see much about them on the kickstarter except artwork, but Hot Damn, does the artwork for them look awesome.
I would go Asterians, because that soon to be unlocked flyer looks awesome.
i would choose the marauders because i’m fed up of low intelligence – barbarian orks of other games. Orks of warpath are the best.
Veer-myn – love the bad horde armies
I love the board game style accessibility of deadzone.
Everything in one box. It means you can go to your club with one box and get playing.
Board game accessibility will get more gamers into it.
Forge Fathers. Their power armor and especially the Iron Ancestor looks goddamn cool.
I’d choose the Asterians, because their playstyle seems to be similar to my W40k Tau – and I want to use them with the simple and elegant, fast and balanced rules of Warpath (even if they’re in alpha).
Asterian faction looks sweet and there is some protos over them!
By the way, No! The new Terminator is not great its okay
Every time you guys discuss airbrushing, i always get tempted. The cost factor is hugely offputting though. Perhaps a series/one-off video looking at various options (in detail) is in order?
As for the Warpath race choice – that’s a tough one! The Warpath universe is really cool, for me though it’s a close one between Enforcer’s and Asterians. The Asterians JUST creep ahead into my “first choice” slot though. Those new plastic drone/robot kits look really good. Plus I’ve high hopes for that sleek aircraft/tank/thing!
For a Faction I would pick the enforcers. I like the heavy duty look of the armor and toughness of the units.
For a stencil, how about a graduated scale pattern. Something that the size of the scales changes from larger to smaller over time, looking more natural. Little to big from the neck to the belly and big to little from the belly to the tail, sort of a tapering effect.
What a mammoth episode. Great work guys. I’d choose the Enforcers for Warpath.
Speederbikes, Airdropping VTOL aircraft, and a bitchin’ Macross Battletech-style paint scheme. Yeah, I want enforcers.
Great episode, for me if I had the choice of any of the races it’d have to be the Teraton’s that we’ve seen in Dreadball.
But from the existing ones Id be going Forge Fathers
Moar Space Dorfs please! Forgefathers get my vote this time round in the DeadZone-iverse.
@warzan for transparent colours definitely have a look at badger minitaire ghost tints. I have been using them for a while and they work really well. OrcPainterNerd did a fantastic Dark Angels Rhino on youtube that shows them off really well.
Stay well clear of running Tamiya through most airbrushes as it’s alcohol based and will tear through seals like anyone’s business – especially with cheaper airbrushes. It also doesn’t mix with other brands like vallejo/reaper/gw/badger etc. Maybe something to look at when you have experience but certainly not a starting point.
If I ever come over I’ll bring some over for you to have a play with
Those Forgefathers look pretty sweet.
I think ill have to go with the forge fathers, those stumhammers, steel warriors and forge guard alone are brilliant models.
Strange I was never one for stunties before always liked elves
Looking at war path I love the corporation jet bikes and flyers but the Vermyn driller tank looks like it’s from the teenage mutant ninja turtles cartoon form the 90s that shedder used to use. so may be I could do an army of splinters using the Vermyn…. Also really liking the artisan guild stuff.
My favorite faction in the kickstarter is the Forge Fathers. Typically don’t go for dwarves but they’re done exceptionally ‘right’ here.
The aesthetic of large, layered plate armor in a sci-fi setting is very appealing as it’s been done for the Forge Fathers. The battle tanks, Iron Ancestors, golems (aka. Forge Guard), and even the grunts are all beautiful but it’s also easy to see that they’re all business.
And, of courses, they have (metal) beards!
I initially thought that the Warpath 2.0 Enforcers would be the one I was interested in. However the asterian models are quite interesting as well.
Enforcers; only because I play Mantic Dwarves in fantasy and I can’t always play… Yes I can, Forge Fathers!
Veer-myn for me, who doesnt want space rats! plus i got a load coming from DZ:I so im going to build on that
Deadzone miniatures look very cool. I especially like the Rebs faction because the style reminds me of Firefly Browncoats. (Any developers out there – we need the Firefly crew and characters in 28mm scale by the way.)
When looking at the Warpath kickstarter the Enforcers look like being my favourite because of the cool riot / blast shields and the jetbikes.
I don’t buy miniatures or assemble army lists just to win. I buy models because they look cool and look fun to paint. I only look to a miniature’s in game performance if there’s a cool quirky rule that takes my eye and appeals to me.
Loving the coverage of all things gaming at Beasts of War. Happy to be a backstager. 🙂
It is difficult to pick just one. Since I have to, I choose GCPS. The concept art for the Rangers in update 16 and here looks amazing. I am hoping the get funded soon.
I picked up the ruins terrain a while ago and was impressed with how well the pieces went together and the variety of shapes possible.
Army painter paints work fine in an airbrush people told me they didn’t tested it out and the work perfectly better then the expensive Vallejo stuff
I have to go with the Enforcers for Warpath. The aesthetic is just my cup of tea.
Really want to play Orcs for warpath but they not on this kickstarter. they have nice collection already avalible so might look at what i can build army wise with the stuff they have released. Plague also tempting.
Diamond pattern looks rockin’ on the Harlequin skimmers. That’s a must have! (No way I’m painting that by hand)
Great show guys! My head is still spinning from all the amazing figures coming out. As far a Warpath is concerned I’d have to go with the the Corporation forces. That flyer & those jet bikes seal the deal!
Nice show! I actually started a thread on a few facebook groups (dfw area 40k, fantasy, kow). Im torn between forge fathers and plague, and then the new asterian tanks look awesome. But i think ill have to go with forge fathers, now if there was a Reb army, that would be my choice, hands down.
Forgefathers look amazing. If I were to get into deadzone, I would pick up the good ol space dwarves.
Corporation/aliens/zombie plague all been done before. Dwarves in space not my thing so
Has to be VEER-MYN Space Rats yeah.
Would have to go with the forgefathers for warpath, love the unsquatted squats, plus i could proxy in some of my squats’s i have from way back in the day 🙂
After looking over the miniatures on the Warpath kickstarter I think I’d play enforcers, mostly for the vehicles and the D.O.G drones.
Nice.
I’ve gone the ultimate tyrant pledge route and as invested heavily in daeadzone infestation I’m kinda trying to pick up all the forces. So I’ll be taking operation heracles for both enforcers and forge fathers. I will probably select a couple plague though as they seem very interesting and varied faction to play, long range and close up.
Still not entirely convinced with WarPath yet, partly because I’ve gone off large-scale wargames at the moment and partly because I find the Mantic sculpts to be hit and miss and quite average overall. However, I have played Deadzone and that was quite good fun.
I’m a Forge Fathers fan all the way. I like the look and feel of the space dwarves.
Whoops, I hit submit too early there. Anyway, yes, I like Forge Fathers. I like the look of the space dwarves. They just look like heavy metal and I especially like the Iron Ancestors.
I do like the look of Deadzone, wish I had picked it up!
Plague! I do love some space undead!
The Asterians are my fav, because they are space-elfey enough for me. It’s good that we have reached the stretch goal to make them.
Got to be Forge-fathers they are great miniatures. I enjoy playing the Dwarves i really like the concept.
The Forge Fathers look really cool, but as a perennial Space Marines player, I think I have to go with the Enforcers (the Interceptor and the Pathfinders help!).
Thanks for helping me over my monday morning / lunchtime / afternoon blues.
Much needed on a miserable, grey, rainy October morning.
The new Warpath stuff looks amazing. Mantic have really pushed this forward big time.
I’m currently suffering from Kid-in-a-sweet-shop syndrome – I watching the KS page a few times a day to day to see what else gets added.
Which faction – thats an easy one. PLAGUE!
They look absolutely amazing. And there’s so many of the feckers. I love looking at my side of the table and seeing a mass of troops lined up and ready to swarm forward.
Yeah the enforcers have the fire power, but sod it. I want to run my horde forward en-mass, overrun the enemy and rip them apart in hand-to-hand.
And see the horror on my opponents face when he realises all his fancy guns are now useless.
And I want to convert captured flyers, jet bikes, weapons platforms, etc into something funky and freakish, a bit like the Reavers did in Firefly, who I’m already theming my impending plague army on!
Wow hi all
hmm, Deadzone….. 🙂
Current or Deadzone RDX? Enforcers – Solid start (and my son wants Forge Fathers so looks like 2 Operation Heracles for us 🙂
would be awesome get my hands on this… but doubt that I will be lucky enough…
Hi guys,
a Weekender packed with goodies! Me gusta. I am really like literally jumping on the seat while watching the news about Team Yankee. I just cannot wait for the beautiful Soviet tanks and other vehicles. They had this distinctive look which I like.
As for the Warpath faction. I thought I will utterly piss my pants out of happiness when I saw the Forge Fathers that everyone was talking about but then suddenly out of the browser, on the left side, the Corporation. I let the pressure go off me. It is a perfect vision of the so called Western society for me where political (corporate) correctness and CCTV are more important than common sense, free will and the ability to think outside the box. A perfect combination for a miniatures army where the player is the Master of Puppets? Indeed, especially when the minis are outstanding.
Eh I cannot decide on buying an airbrush. Basically, the price is the main obstacle.
always great videos 🙂 thanks guys!
The Stencils will be nice for all my Terrainprojects.
Keep up the good work guys!
Warpath – definitely the GCPS Corporation models that are next as these can then be used in Deadzone as well – seems Mantic will provide the rules for GCPS troops in Deadzone as part of the current kickstarted yay.
And yes please a Self-Cleaning airbrush….. my next project – practice , practice and practice with my airbrush 🙂
Primarily, I love the Mantic Terrain. As far as the Warpath races go, I love the Forge Fathers. Though, were I to really buy a Mantic army, I’d be getting a Kings of War Ogres (because they look amazing, and I’m a slow painter… less models to paint the better!)
Nice episode!
In regard to the Warpath races I like the Forge Fathers – both because they are sculpted quite nice and because ‘dwarves in space’ is an awesome concept.
Just read that GCPS will join Deadzone, yeah! 🙂
Can’t wait to try this, looks awesome!
I would likely play the Enforcers as the miniatures look fantastic and match my preferred army type.
Allways great to watch the weekender on my free mondayevening! Great to have Yo back after a week without one.
Deadzone is high on my list of must play games. Would be great to win a copy of the game 😀
Cheers
Well, for the faction I choose Veer-myn, not a big fan of dwarfs or humans ( even if the Enforcers are really interesteing ), but will stick to the horde style !
I would go for one of everything unlocked, and if they give such opportunity I’d go for one of everything unlocked in previous kickstarters that can be used in Warpath.
That’s what collectors do – they go for “one of everything, please”.
Great show chaps, le sigh
Deadzone looks really cool, I must say.
The Forge Father’s look fantastic! What could be tougher than dwarves…WEARING CYBER ARMOR? What could be more epic…THAN CYBER BEARDS??! FEAR OUR MIGHTY CYBERBEARDED AWESOMENESS!
I’m all for the armoured human guys, because it would be easy to use them for any sci-fi game.
The Warpath KS just isn’t workin for me. After going bug on Deadzone, Mars AttACKs & DZ:Infestation, I was primed for going huUuUuUge on WP. But without Marauders, that keeps most of my bank account safe. H outta the vehicles, only the Enforcers Interceptor does anything for me. Even the new GCPS light/scout apc, while cool, isn’t anything that *new* in 28mm wargaming.
So DZ & MA it is for me! [& my bank account rejoices!]
Lovely, lovely disgusting space rats , Veer-myn are the way to go 🙂
The info on airbrushes is useful. I’ve been debating whether or not to get one for a while and I think I’m now veering towards getting one sooner rather than later
Well I jumped in on the warpath kickstartern with the intention of getting forge fathers, but whilst waiting I painted up some enforcers in a new scheme, and I like it. But then again who doesn’t like hosts of a tomatoes in the asterians, so in short I don’t know there all pretty cool. But at this moment I’m going to say asterians………I think
I have go with the enforcer, i always am a human fanatic !
Well I’m backing the warpath kickstarter so that people in the gaming club I run in northern Ireland can experience what looks like a great game. Deadzone really looks fun too.
Here’s my comment, here is hoping I win but alas I never win anything so won’t hold my breath. Lol
Good luck to all.
I’d pick the Enforcers, for one simple reason: look at those bikes!
Awesome. And I’m not just saying that to try and win Deadzone, either.
Enforcers and space dwarves look sweet
I’m interested in Deadzone, I’m interested in Warpath, but I just fail to see what makes them “click.” They look decent, the rules seem okay, and the models look nice…. I guess I just haven’t had the chance to see it all together, and see what makes it superior to other tabletop games with similar themes.
Enforcers are where it’s at for me.
I’ll get the Infestation DZ, but the core set would be bloody nice.
I’ve been trying for a year and half to get my group into Deadzone. I just can’t justify the expense until I get the group to commit. Winning a starter box would make a HUGE dent in the initial cost, and would get the group interested. That and I LOVE that terrain.
Ohh my love of Skaven makes the Veer-myn very appealing.
I don’t like the Veer-myn weapons, just the weapons… don’t look intimidating at all…
Often looked at deadzone to scratch yhe itch that necromunda / mordheim gave me growing up. It looks good and an interesting concept but its one of those thing’s I never took the plunge with or convince my mates to try either 🙂
The Veer-myn force looks very thematic, I can just imagine loads of Veer-myn troops pouring out behind a Tunneler that’s just burst out of the ground. If I had to choose one force it would have to be the Enforcers, purely because of the Destiny-esque jet bikes!
Looks pretty cool!
I just want this cool big box ;P
Happy Monday!!!!
GIVE ME!!!! lol
I’m liking the enforcers but wouldn’t mind space rats
I would want Forge Fathers .. Why?… Hahaha Dwarves in SPACE!! of course jeez
wow i want it
Always glad to try a new game set.
Hey
With the corporation now unveiled I’d have to go with them. They’re very epitome of the sci-fi force with a nice custom edge to them.
Reminds me of necromunda back in the day. Great terrain and models.
All the Deadzone factions look cool. I would probably start with the enforcers.
The Asterians look cool, but the corporation Ranger artwork looked pretty amazing
I’d go for the Forgefathers no doubt. I fell in love with their boss mini when they were first released.
I would choose to play as the Enforcers. Their back story is simple but definitely the army you would want to back! Plus I’m loving the Enforcer Interceptors. As someone starting out with painting models, I like to take a shot at the larger models to help me learn.
This Kickstarter looks great! Well worth the money for whichever pledge level you choose.
I pledged for Veer-myn. Swarming mutant rats with drills, chemical weapons and tunnelers is just brilliant.
Mantic’s stuff is just a little off for me. Generic. Decent, but something special is lacking.
Space pirate Proxy army for either the Veer-myn, Asterians, maybe as any of the other “gun toting” factions. But if I had to pick an army that came with the kickstarter it would probably be the Enforcers (the Asterians and Veer-myn are cool, but the enforcers have my one weakness: jetbikes).
I just like the Deadzone minis and would love a chance at winning them. I love the rebs especially, I want to do some converting and use them for Tau as people who have joined for the greater good!
on second thought, the Corporation troops look good too, I am torn (probably would still go with enforcers for jetbikes, although if there was away to get the Corporation troops troops with the jetbikes, than again the enforcers have other cool toys, dang). Oh, wait I am too poor right now to invest in another kickstarter, yeah so it is not my problem really I will just get the digital copy of deadzone when it comes out and pick a list and proxy with ebay bought pirate horde.
I have a been a big fan ever since I first heard of them (when they sent out sample ghouls by mail). In Warpath I would play enforcers because they look cool and could be used for both Deadzone and Warpath. I also love their look, especially the guys with the big shields.
Eventually I would buy the jet and theme a unit off of X-Com. How cool would that be!? 🙂
Veer-myn for me, I mean space rats, say no more.
would love to win a copy!
Enforcers all the way!! Their armour alone is awesome, so easy to try different colour combinations for different model types. My favourite models are the peacekeepers, I have my guys painted up with black under armour and gold plates. I really can’t wait get the jetbikes and the interceptor
Ok, I’ve been watching the Warpath Kickstarter & there are a lot of really cool models on there, especially now that they’ve decided to unlock the (what were known as) Corporation Marines. Admittedly, the concept art for them is incredible, very ODST-esque. However, if they’re going to predominantly be the same restic ones they’ve been making I’m not sure I’d be interested. The fact that they’re showing the old metal corporate C.O. cause me to have concern about this, although I suppose if I saw an army list it might interest me more. The one that I did see doesn’t have any special or heavy weapons in most of the units which strikes me as odd since most of the units are sold with specials and the veterans are sold with heavies.
Cant wait to play space rats Vs space dwarfs game! )
I’ve always loved the look of the Enforcers – power armour that looks possible to move around in. That flyer is beautiful too. But then, I’m looking forward to seeing that forgefather tank too…
I have to say, It’s refreshing to be hopeful for a new rule set for a large scale sci fi game. I’m especially intrigued as to how the marauders are going to turn out (design wise), given that Mantic are now trying to make their armies have their own flavour to them (well, except the veer-myn, they are still space skaven).
Want to try out Deadzone, Mars Attacks is great fun, demoed it like a dozen games or more over the weekend at MOAB
Veer-Myn For Me! Space-Rats For The Win!
Space Rats! Count me in!
Love Marauders :3
Oh man. The Forge Fathers seem so cool. Big machines, lot’s of firepower and they just crush you. But only if you really deserve it 🙂
Forge Fathers are the army for me, SPACE DORFS ASSEMBLE! All the new hard plastics are super rad, and so is the older but still great Iron Ancestor
Yet more excellent minis which I’d love to have as long as someone else painted them! 😉
The Deadzone terrain is really fantastic.
I like the look fo those enforcer bikes. I would love a full army of those dwarves if their tanks were not so cheesey
Mantic has come a long way in a only a few years. Upgrades to all their lines, new products, and (it seems like) a new attitude. And IMHO, their prices aren’t ridiculous. Looking forward to more from them. Seeing some of the examples of what can be accomplished w/ the Anarchy stencils is eye-opening.
Shame Deadzone is so expensive over here! (Norway) Or I probably would already have at least one copy!
I pick ALL races because Mantic pricing is such that you can do so without selling your liver. Since Crystallen aren’t a playable faction (boooo!) I’d choose Rebels for the huge variety in modeling and playstyle. Of the 5 already released for Warpath, I really do like all of them but would have to go the Asterians for the great take on “space elves” that’s much more realistic than… can be seen elsewhere.
I am going for enforcers. I saw a paint scheme so easy and fast, but so good looking at the same time that I couldn’t resist. Daemon Yellow primer from Army Painter, Dark Tone wash, and black for the guns and other details. Unless other races, its armor design allows speed painting with fabulous results.
Can you link them so can see as that sounds good
Right now I am looking at the Enforcers as my pledge army. I like the look and the bikes….oh the bikes. 🙂 If the GCPS gets funded, that may change…I like the rendering of the troops.
Send me my stuff
LOL great show guys, love the forge fathers in DB and the Dwarves in KOW, Forge Fathers look to be my faction here as well!
I have long wanted a copy of Deadzone! Great minis and a fast and easy to learn ruleset.
I really like the look of the Asterians! The idea of using droid troops or better yet their Cypher drones with direct mental control is awesome and fitting for an advanced race. Plus the use of Noh energy (magic!?) sounds awesome.
First chance I have had to watch a backstager in a while! (stupid life) I think that for the warpath group, I would go with the Enforcers, because I really like the look of their armor. Also, those dice are cool, but for many games that I play, like warhammer 40k, when you are rolling a ton of dice, it doesn’t really resonate as a good idea
The Veer-Myn models are really great, and fill a void that has been in the hobby for many years. Great stuff from Mantic.
I can’t wait to get my hands on my sci-fi beardies from the KS. I’ve been a fan of mantic for a few years and what they bring to the industry the no nonsense approach is quite refreshing.
I have chosen forge fathers as my faction of choice because I love their asthetic and their fluff. The whole idea that they are the most scientifically developed race that are stoic and tolerant of the younger races so long as they don’t interfere with their plans.
Love the look of the new tanks that’s why I’m backing for 6, I’m going in big 🙂
Enforcers all the way. I am a sucker for humans in Sci Fi armor.
..just watched Pandorum.. mutants are so creepy so i would choose plague!
Yep, it’s the Plague Faction I find the most interesting, because I like their deformities
I would choose the Forge Fathers. Headstrong, tough little buggers that will hold their ground and won’t leave until all their foes are defeated from their advanced technology.
Great show guys
I like the Enforcers, because they look menacing.
I think I would go for the Asterians. They don’t seem hard to paint and I like the look of the models.
Enforcers all the way for me! Partly because their looks remind me of Elysians from 40k, but mainly because who wouldn’t want to play the elite troops of ruthless corporations? They’re just following orders afterall!
Personally, I’m considering going Enforcers, Veer-myn, or the GCPS faction they’re talking about adding as a stretch goal
As a disgruntled Epic Squat player I want the Forge Fathers!
Enforcers for now… they just look awesome and for villains I tend to like evil Corporations as my villains (I blame the Directorate). Their armor looks great… and the Bikes… O do I love those bikes.
Lore wise I am also really interested in the Rebs but I do not think they will appear in this KS so a little sad about that.
I really don’t know what army I would pick, I like the look of Enforcers for their bikes and vehicles; the Plague just look really brutal and would probably be my favourite to paint; the Forge fathers are more nostalgic than anything as I used to play Squats in Rouge Trader; the Veer-myn would probably win out because I love the idea of diseased rats burrowing up from below to swarm the battlefield and I have always liked ratmen in fantasy but ratmen in sci-fi thats just awesome. No i didn’t forget the Asterian they are of no intrest to me.
A copy of Deadzone? Don’t mind if I do.
I got my copy of DZ1 just before the weekend! Sure wouldn’t mind a second box to try and get some friends into it, and really looking forward to DZ2. 🙂
Mantic are my favourite company right now. GW is dead to me! I’m loving the mantic rules sets, the speed of play and the War Path models look great. I’m an enforcer all the way!
Love the new asterians!!!! Great models. And the rules! Awesome mantic thanks tons!
As an avid Dwarf player my vote goes to the Forgefathers, what a great looking army is that. Space Dwarfs, what’s to like more? 😀
Not sure about the gameplay. Should try it!
Having wanted a ratmen in space army as a young fella and being ridiculed in a GW by its employees for suggesting it – Veer-myn for me thanks. 20 years later….sweet, sweet space rats
Got to be the forgefathers for me. I love the look of the minis and that alone, even without their stoic ethos, would have won me over. The models (and therefore the race) just look so solid.
I’d go for Veer-myn, as they look the most exotic of the Warpath races.
Who doesn’t love Deadzone. Mantic is doing some great work with that line!
DZ sure gets the imagination going
I honestly don’t know anymore who I like better
My oldest loves the Marauders, I like the Plague maybe a bit more
but they are all awesome
The terrain is also a personal favorite
I love creating and building it
(we just need more connector sprues in the box though)
Always interesting
Hmm, I like the direction of the Plague, especially since they make neat zombie pieces for all those other zombie games out there.
That’s a great tip to undercoat again after the stencil is down to avoid bleed under. Also Brian’s tutorial on cleaning and maintenance from long ago was super helpful to keeping my airbrush working…now I wish my compressor would die so I can get a quiet one.
Space zombies for me are a no brainer (no pun intended!) so the plague would be my choice. Also very interested by the air brushing, looking at getting a mid range model to start up and hopefully find someone in the west sussex area who may be able to help get me started.
Enforcers for the win.
I really like Deadzone. Both the skirmish scale of the game and the nice mechanics contribute to build a solid game.
Would have to be Forgefathers. Awesome big stompy robots and sweet looking tanks.
In terms of the models themselves, I find the Asterians most intruiging, with a good balance between the dynamism of the figures and the shape of the machines. Forge Fathers are a close second.
I would play the Enforcers. I’m just a sucker for genetically modified super solders in Power armor.
There are so many great choices when it comes to warpath. I know that I will be picking up some forgefathers, and since we are not seeing anything for the rebs I will probably pick up some of the Plague battlegroups because the teratons are great.
The Plague seems the most interesting for me, probably because I like horror and Cthulhu stuff.
I like the Asterians as they look the most like a hi-tech combined arms army.
I’m all out for Eldar, so I’d choose Asterians 🙂
I really like the Enforcers. I really love the new flyer and jetbikes and can’t wait for Mantic to bring these out already. I also like the strider and peacekeeper models, very cool. The pathfinders are cool as well.
Still waiting for an Enforcer model i don’t like. Also i believe they will have more options tactically on the battlefield.
I love those space Dwarves, because, hey, they are Dwarves, in space!
I would go with the enforcers simply because I think they look so cool painted. I would enjoy the challenge of making mine look that good.
I don’t know which army would I choose… Probably the Asterians, as they are nice and delicate.
I’d like to try the new Power Armor Dudes because they look cool.
I usually play humans, so I’d stick with the Enforcers or that other human faction.
I love the Astreians, because they look cute!
haa a good coffy a peaceful night and a good show ^^
tnx it was a pleasure ^__^
I like the GCPS and the Corporates just as well, they do feel like a proper sci-fi army to me.
Comparing the t72 vs the m1 abrams is a little misleading the t80 later variants were to rival the m1 abrams it should be the t80u (1986) vs m1 abrams (1985) for the 1987 time line the game is set. for goodness sake if you were to look at the cost difference between a t72 and a m1 abrams then you can see they are not a one on one direct concept. if you want to compare the most common abrams vs t72 of the time period you would find it to be the abrams m1ip which only has a 105mm cannon now compare that to the similar era t72 and suddenly things look more interesting. I would not be surprised if the model ranges give this fake like for like comparison right the way through every type of unit. Let me guess lets compare a hind from the 70’s vs an apache from 1986 now lets really look at comparisons mi24vp 1981 and mi28 1988 also note these two would have been made for half the cost of the US counter part no doubt in game points will not reflect this.
I’d play Marauders… but… but… WHERE ARE THEY? Need those Orx :C
Ohhh, free stuff.
