Grimdark Fellowship by lludan

We dive into this week's Community Spotlight with a look at what lludan has been working on. There is something awesome about the bringing together of two game universes and that's just what you get from these miniatures by Artel. lludan has then done a superb job of getting them painted up for us in some games!

40K Fellowship #1 by lludan

You might remember this 40K Fellowship from some of the unboxings that we've done here OnTableTop. There are some excellent matches within the set to the folks that made that long trek to Mount Doom. Now they are heading out into the grimdark universe to bring down some heretics! I really liked that lludan has done a good job of colour-matching the miniatures to some of those associated with the characters from the movies and then taking them to that next level with all the grim darkness.

40K Fellowship #2 by lludan

I've picked out just a couple of the miniatures here but this gives you a good idea of how the collection is taking shape. There are so many details that have been added to these sculpts and lludan has done a solid job of making them all pop. What's cool is that these miniatures then got shown off quite rightly on a piece of terrain that properly puts them in their place.

40K Fellowship #3 by lludan

Here you can see the match for Gimli, Legolas, Gandalf, Aragorn and Boromir getting ready to fight off some approaching threat. Maybe these heroes are looking to hold down this particular portion of an Imperial building as rampaging Orks and Grots come storming towards them. It is well worth having a look at the rest of the project as more members of the Fellowship are getting added as you read this!

Dracula's America by darkvernon

Next up, we're having a look at something small but perfectly formed. I headed on over to the What Are You Painting Now? thread and found this set of miniatures painted by darkvernon that I was immediately drawn to.

Dark Confederates Posse by darkvernon

This is a set of miniatures representing the Dark Confederates Posse from Dracula's America. Some of the miniatures are from Wargames Foundry and as you can see there is a gosh darn lot of undead folk in this collection to match the living. It seems like the Colonel might be leading the way as well.

Whilst this is just one image and there's no project here, I hope that maybe this will get darkvernon to show us some more images of their work on this posse. I really like the painting on the bearded miscreants that make up this group and the basing is also particularly nice. It has a Bayou vibe to it which immediately starts to get you thinking about the kind of places they might be battling over. The crooked cross on the Gravedigger's base is also a lovely addition, especially for a game focused on Dracula, the undead and more horror elements!

Ewoks! by denzien

Last but not least, we're heading to a different sort of Sci-Fi world from that of 40K that we saw earlier. Here, strange murder bears come from the woods and kill everyone they come up against! denzien has been working on some of the Ewok miniatures that you can pick up for Star Wars: Legion.

Ewoks #1 by denzien

I have a friend who is really into picking up some Ewoks and this is going to be a neat impetus for them to get their own. The painting has come together very nicely here and I like the blending of the different colours, especially in the fur. I also like that even though there is a lot of brown on show here, you can still see lots of definition when it comes to the kit and the basing.

What took these miniatures to the next level was the addition of some outside photography where these Ewoks were sent out into the garden to hunt down some Stormtroopers. This really sells the scene!

Ewoks #2 by denzien

The miniatures look great in their natural habitat and now we just need to see them cooking some Stormtroopers and beating up the servants of The Empire on the tabletop. Some of the additional Ewoks have also been painted up beyond the Commanders that these space bears can bring to the table.

Ewoks #3 by denzien

Getting some miniatures out into that natural light is also really good for getting a better look at the paint schemes. These are great and just a portion of what denzien has been working on. I would really like to see what other people could do by taking their miniatures outside and placing them in natural surroundings.
