Happy to see blood and valour expand into the eastern front. Hopefully we will be seeing Austrians on the horizon and few more Serbs or Bulgarians in the works from Eureka as well.
It would be great to see more of that, building on the options for wargamers looking to learn more about WWI
Or the Balkan Wars
Figures for Russians and Bulgarians are pretty similar at a push
Cowboy Bebop Live Action is hitting Netflix this nov. along with the original anime as well.

Amine Announcement – https://youtu.be/5FhWyCK2chE
The Chinese Warlord period would be another interesting war to delve into especially as a lot of the Russian Royalist supporters tuned up in this conflict as mercs.
Black Templars is an army so small it can fit inside a Rhino :p
Only need three for a crusade after all
Looking forward to the Silver Bayonet. My wallet is advising me to only get one starter force and I’m torn between British cause of Bram Stoker’s Dracula tugging at my imagination and the French cause I have lots of spare Napoleonic models from Victrix to draw fresh recruits from. Decisions, decisions, decisions…
All the miniatures look fantastic.
Once Silver Bayonet arrives I’ll be able to take up arms against the dark forces in another alternate time period, just like I did with Dracula’s America. Good times.
first
Happy weekender
enjoy the greatest movie ever made
The weekend starts now!
Yes. Painting time.
That Black Templar set looks great.
Heresy Lab do make some exceptionally nice minis – I have a clutch of their more Imperial-looking SF minis that are wonderfully evocative, but I’m quite fond of their more recent dabbling into Mordheim proxies, especially the not-Bretonian foot Knights….
The Not-Brets are very nice indeed.
Every time I’m shown the awesome models from themakerscult is a step closer to pulling the trigger on a resin 3d-printer.
Also, happy weekend everyone!
I am particularly taken by those mechanical tyranid constructs!
Right. This week I want something different, I want…
It’s another Weekender isn’t it?
Hersey Labs my boxes of shame so many to do 🙂
Enjoyed the show guys… have a great weekend everyone
Yay its the weekender time.
Ooh Darth Marines.
Shush Justin Dam it man some of us still would like to eat sometime this month
It’s the Weekender!
VIGO Gerry?
‘Darth Moeder’ … LOL
‘Vader’ = Dutch for ‘Father’
‘Moeder’ = Dutch for ‘Mother’
So it wasn’t much of a surprise when Darth said “I am your fater” …
It’s in your flippin’ name 😉
Ben also available for the sales channel for the right money?
nice to hear about Blood and Valour! i should check into that sometime. Would be fun if they covered a bit of the Russian Civil War following WW1.
that bug think reminds me of the martian chaos thing that attacked the train before it gets stopped by the Knights.
Nice more tasty models to end the show.
I like the hobby league. Think I’ll join it to help get me back in the painting chair now that life has settled down for me again.
Yays to the 40k community for largely saying no to 13 minis [+exclusives, of course] for $200! Shoulda had a few terrain sprues thrown in, at least. Or have just started at $150.
Blaster was here… & knows *bespoke* boxsets aren’t all equal!
they’re not for sale yet …
we’ll know if the community really said ‘no’ if GW announces that they still have a ton on monday 😉
— edit —
Looks like they have been since last week.
They’re still available for pre-order on GWs site, not sold out in minutes like previous exclusive/limited boxsets. & the pre-order guarantee was only for the weekend. Also, my flgs’ said they had 1 & 2 pre-orders. & hint’d that GW is hoping they order [pre or not] more copies. Previous limited editions… they were allocated very few & those were snap’d up fast.
More than a bit of empirical evidence that this one didn’t go over too well.
ah my mistake … I thought this was going to be released this weekend.
But it was previous weekend.
I see it as ‘available’ in my not so local webshop too.
Of course we can’t expect every army set to be sold out within minutes, so it is too early to tell if this is a sign that customers got fed up or simply saving for a ‘black friday’ deal …
That GW did the pre-order guarantee thing for it kinda tells the tale. It didn’t hit the Made To Order stage over the weekend.
There hasn’t been a Space Marines specific limited boxset in a good while. Even tho Black Templars is a niche army, that it doesn’t seem to have hit the mark with the greater Space Marines market is a bit of a telltale too.
It’s really just ridiculousness bad value, I don’t think that can be argued against. So seeing it still in the *taking orders* stage is a good sign about the community & what players are actually willing to pay. At least in my opinion.
If GW push’d 13 minis +etc. thru for $200, that’d have been early Christmas for them & their shareholders! I mean, Beast Snaggas had 26 minis +etc. for $200. That was gone in 60secs, with no pre-order guarantee. If GW was able to cut the model count in half, for the same price, & make it into Made To Order territory in 1 weekend… I’m very happy it didn’t, is all I’m saying! 😀
Morning all
everywhere Yogi looked there were picnic baskets, walking picnic baskets, all he had to do was hit them with his big hammer to open them
Another good episode.. I’m really looking forward to getting my hands on a copy of Silver Bayonet especially as I’m finally jumping into the Napoleonic period.
You could drag it forward to the Opium Wars period.Weapons will be the same and you get to have hopping vampires
That’s a good idea, move it to Asia and Asian folklore.
You could also go to South America with the Wars of Independence during the Napoleonic period though not sure what nightmare creatures they have there
It looks like that bug walker transport from The Makers Cult looks like it was inspired by one of the creatures from the Studio Ghibli Film: Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind
Hey lads, question about the hobby league, do we have to start with the starter set armies or can we pick something else. I always liked Wyatt Earp and the lawmen.
go nuts, there are going to be some cheesemints for following what we’re doing but you can always knock yourself out as there are tons of ways to build the posses
Great show team, as usual.
Happy Saturday.
I always confuse Heresy miniatures and Heresy Labs.
I’m a fan of Joe’s other games but I think I’m going to leave Silver Bayonet alone. It looks interesting but I don’t have the time (or resources) for another game, especially since I have no Napoleonic miniatures.
I only watched Cowboy Beebop earlier this year when I noticed it was on Netflix and really enjoyed it. I think the world building will fit well to a RPG. One of the reasons I hadn’t watched it for all this time was that the name put me off, I thought it was some cheesy western.
It’s a tragedy that only one of you has a good microphone. You guys needs to get with the times, get good microphones for everybody.
I might be tempted by that Silver Bullet book. Could always recycle some of my Carnivale stuff.
The new Wild West Exodus set looks awesome. Welcome to the weekend!
Yes, Gerry, the best of all airborne hero units that should make it to Age of Sigmar… The Flying Butress (not to be confused with any other maul wielding nuns)
That Infinity bear with armour and big hammer… he doesn’t need it, but eh, why not?! He looks awesome!
Been waiting for someone to finally do WW2 Italians for AGES (then two companies come along at the same time…just like buses). Problem is I’ve used Perry minis for the rest of my NA/Operation Sword forces. I think the Warlord ones might be a bit “chunky” compared to the Perry minis (plus Perry’s are 25mm, whereas Warlord tend to be 28-30mm). Has anyone got the Wargame Atlantic ones to compare to the Perry minis?
I’ve no idea if the Perry’s are ever going to do plastics for the Italians anytime soon (it’s been years now), and they tend to do “what they feel like doing at the time” release schedules.
But at least there are some options out there. Between the two current ranges I’d say I prefer the Warlord ones (and if the rest of my figures were Warlord I’d snap them up, no questions asked). But (curses), Perry’s went with smaller 25mm figures (with realistic proportions), the metal releases for the Italians are still there for purchase (but it would prove to be a mite expensive as you need LOADS of them), but at least Warlord have the plastic tanks for use/purchase 🙂
they’re not out yet, expect to see them late october/early november
Ah, perhaps then I was wondering if anyone has ANY of the Wargames Atlantic WW2 minis to compare them in size to the Perry minis. I think there’s a couple of ww2 sets out there at the moment.
I’ve not got any WA plastics, so I’ve no idea on the size and proportions (they would have to be “slighter” than the Warlord ones to match the Perry sculpts).
Another idea was to use the WA Partizan minis (with some weapon swaps) to perhaps do a game between the factions in Italy after the fall of Sicily. There was the Italians in British kit (Esercito Cobelligerante Italiano) in the South of the country along with Italian resistance fighters fighting the Germans as they sorta “annexed” the northern part of Italy after the King of Italy (Emmanuel III) signed an armistice with the Allies and disposed Mussolini from office (along with Italians in the newly formed puppet state of the Italian Social Republic).
Probably destined to not be a popular army to collect for WW2 gamers, but resistance fighter minis can be used for skirmish games from Italy throughout Europe and into Russia, the Italian Co-belligerent Army can just be represented with normal British minis. Now to find out if there’s any well documented actions between these forces to read up on 🙂
I can dig out the WWI and the Partisans tomorrow, I should have some Perry metals to compare them to
Cheers for taking the time to do that, it’s a boon (although knowing my luck after buying a load, two weeks after the Perrys will decide to release them in plastic anyway 😀 )
How am I only hearing about The Silver Bayonet for the first time, just now? Completely up my street. I’ll have to do a bit of research into shipping … Oops!
As a marine player that new black Templar looks very inviting.
Another great episode! Have not looked at heresy games in a long time, wow
Very tempted with the wild west exodus new set, looks great. I do have a couple of posses still to do so I dont want to add to the pile of shame just yet.
I’m looking forward to jumping in to The Silver Bayonet, the setting really appeals to me
Time to break out the beige and paint another starter!
Happy monday!
Heresy Lab has a lot of potentiel indeed for skirmish games! I really love the Sisters from the Citizens of the Old World line, might get them for a warband in Frostgrave…
Colony 87 looks great for Stargrave! I’m really tempted by the Outlanders!
Thanks for the shows guys!
Great show. Really enjoyed the Indy of the week Heresy Lab.
Tuesday evening and I’ve finally watched the weekender. Stupid Real life getting in the way. Life was better under lockdown.
Another great watch for the week!
Cheers guys!
Silver Bayonet looks like Flintloque
