Great prize this week, ‘Marvel Crisis Protocol’ is great as a game and has fantastic miniatures if you just want to paint and collect too!
Love the terrain pieces from ‘THMiniatures’ and great timing. I’m just this week finding myself buying and scratch building stuff for my AoS tables. These just need to be bought and painted up. Done and done!
Thought it would be neat to get people into the Marvel-verse!
Heck yes!
The minis are larger than standard so a little easier to paint and if you don’t like a pose they’re not that difficult to repose. Plus most heroes and villains have more than one costume color combo so choose your fav costume color And maybe just a little modding to the uniform to pull off the change.

Yeah for sure. I’m subtly getting my wife to watch the MCU stuff with me so when I pick up the Crisis Protocol box in future I can say, “I know how much you love Chris Evans and Chris Emsworth, well now you can play with them in miniature” lol.
if only AMG would start shipping all of the stuff that FFG didn’t exactly have in stock since the dawn of tim… I’d be knee deep in the clonewars by now.
Yeah my Legion stuff is on the back burner for now as I just can’t get a hold of anything.
+1 for THMiniatures. I have a box of jungle terrain that’s in danger of getting painted because I hear there’s a jungle setting in Stargrave. YEAH SPACE JUNGLE!

These next MCP releases are by far the ones I’m most excited for. Defenders, X-Force, Spiderman and his rogue’s gallery. It’s like my childhood is being printed so I can paint it.

I reckon the Infinity Defiance Megalodron or another model like that will make an appearance as a common boss to fight in the TAGmatch game.
As for Infinity 15mm… Do you realise how fiddly assembling their 28mm models can be – imagine fitting an arm at 15mm! 😉

Now I’ve been avoiding Marvel Crisis Protocol because of the cost, but that Cable model does look very cool, and if I won a box then I would just be forced to spend lots of money expanding the collection, and wouldn’t that be a shame?

Not to defend the pricing model or anything, but it makes sense the price is a bit, well, pricier since they sell named characters, so you can only really buy one of each.
Yeah, its understandable when you factor in the lack of multiple pack purchases and the inevitable licence costs. Its just not nice to look at the price tag! But if I was to win the core set, well, then I’d just be forced to buy more, wouldn’t I? Life is hard 😉

Stellaris looks good but no rulebook and no actual boardgame playthrough video is a BIG error in my opinion, and I can see a lot of pledges being dropped on the last day if that doesn’t change for the better

Well, I think we’ve solved the mystery of what’s behind the mysterious @avernos curtain – I mean, it’s cute and everything that he pretends to be such a luddite, but I reckon there’s a 3d printer farm back there. You’re not fooling anyone, Gerry!
I’ve been slowly getting back into Infinity with the N4 release, but biggest model from them yet, is it going to be bigger than the Megalodron from Defiance, I think it had an Infinity profile too, but I’ve never actually seen the model.

It’ll be interesting to see what people think of the quality of the mega from Defiance being a board game and different material if memory serves. I expect Tag Raid to be the same type of stuff
I haven’t seen the marvels movies don’t enjoy Disney that much or read the marvels magazine but I like miniature games.

Some good stuff this week, the indie terrain is particularly interesting – a black tablecloth with a bunch of the lava features would be very cool to play over.

These guys inject oil into themselves to look like they have big muscles. There have been cases where the arm has sort of exploded with the oil oozing out and basically destroying what actual muscle is in the body. It’s very bizarre.

Always the best start to the weekend!
With the announcement of a new, stand-alone release of Spidey for Crisis Protocol (and Black Cat!), I’m sorely tempted to do the Web Warriors – and given how the team at FFG and now AMG clearly appreciate the scope they have top play with for variations, I’m kinda hoping we get Silk, Spider-Girl and the Spider-Women at some point. If we get the likes of Spider-Noir, Spider-Ham and the other alternate webslingers (the OG Spider-Girl seems like a no-brainer at least) then be still my cold withered nerdy heart 😉
TH Miniatures. Clearly a name from a mistype. He was clearly trying to call his website TheMiniatures and was just typing too fast and not paying attention. I do that all the time.
I got 5 models from the last TTCombat halfling KS. I just got the last painted and then they drop another. Epic timing.
I got Crisis Protocol for my nephew, it looks very good. I’d love to slap some contrast paint on those models.

THMiniatures terrain looks awesome. Might need to get some as I’m diving into LOTR.
As cool as the MCP boxes are… are they going to quickly for people to keep up? Lol.. I mean, I know we have all have some shiny syndrome and a hard time focusing… and certainly everyone has their own favorite Marvel Heroes that they want to see on the table… but holy cow… that’s a lot of releases!!! lol..
And that terrain Indie of the Week is stellar… love me some throwback to Confrontation and currently have a few Wolfen of Yllia sitting in some simple green to strip to be repainted after picking a few random models on ebay!
A lot of interesting stuff in this Weekender. THMiniatures will fit nicely fit into a lot of systems. The Oathmark Halflings are an interesting addition for Oathmark. They seem like a fun little(no pun intended) to the game.

The Atlantis range of fantasy miniatures would go really well with the TH scenery. Both ranges have quite chunky proportions. More importantly both ranges are lovely.

I like the new Crisis Protocol minis, although i’m unlikely to get any of these soon, i have a few sets before them to get a few after these as well with the new previews we’ve seen this week…
I think i’ll be checking out TTCombat’s new KS, we’ve seen some good looking options with your scrolling!

Actually got time to watch this one. I really liked the news updates on the games out there now. Some nice looking Kickstarters but I better behave myself.
I have bought Stuffed Fables for my daughter. She is only 3 at the moment so it’s very much one for the future but really pleased to see an expansion for it.
Also, I don’t want to be responsible for making anyone cry but similar to Toy Story and the toys being played with for the last time but someone told me something equally sad and inevitable. I love my daughter to bits, she’s absolutely amazing but one day, probably not that far away now I will pick her up for the last time, never to pick her up again…
This isn’t the only sad inevitability in life either, if you would like me to go on.
For Marvel Crisis Protocol, both Scarlet Witch and Falcon have already been revealed or teased. In November’s Deadpool announcement video, both Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are shown in their tradition comic costumes. Scarlet Witch in particular looked stunning. Sam Wilson/Falcon’s version of Captain America was teased in December (along with War Machine, and the now revealed Luke, Iron Fist, Carnage and Mysterio).
I think with those two character packs, we’ll officially have most of the main MCU heroes represented in some form for those that only follow the movies and not the comic books. We are missing Mantis to complete the film version of the Guardians of the Galaxy, and we need Jessica Jones to round out the Netflix Defenders. We also need a Giant Man to represent Ant-Man in Civil War and the end of Endgame, but that is something that is probably a bit of a long way off (and will most likely be pricey).

Great to see THM terrain featured this week guys as I have some and it is very professionally made and packaged. Can’t recommend his products enough and I want more.
