Excellent! It is good to see our socialist comrades express heart felt solidarity and revolutionary zeal in the face of the warmongering imperialist Americans! For Lloyd! For the Motherland! Huuuurah! Huuuuurah! Huuuuuurah!

DISPATCH FROM 6TH GUARDS TANK DIVISION – 1st SOVIET GUARDS TANK ARMY . . . 02:30 HOURS – 15AUG85 . . . It has been hard fighting throughout the day, and too many of our valiant comrades have “gone to grass.” But we are dealing the imperialist dogs hard blows, and making them pay for every step they take in the the beloved motherland of our loyal Lloydoslavian allies!

i.e. . . I’ve won some games and lost some games. I tend to lose the smaller games. At least for me, the bigger the game, the better luck the Soviet armies seem to have.

Wonder if the US infantry have access to Stingers or just Dragons? The Ruskies learned that the Hinds no likey the Stinger in Afghanistan.

Cant wait to see this unfold! Russia might have an advantage here if the players are playing agressively.

I really like just how different the armies are. They’re not just two clones smashing at one and other, they play very differently. I like that.

Totally different. The Americans I think have to play very conservatively. Their guns shoot further, are more accurate, shoot faster, etc. But of course they are always outnumbered. So far the games I have lost, the Americans sit back and force me to come to them, whittling my numbers as I approach. The Soviets, conversely, have to get into “choking range” as fast as possible.

Also, we’ve learned that the American Cobras don’t fire TOWs on the move. This is a huge equalizer against their dreaded “hunter killer” rule, which mostly relies on tucking behind buildings anyway.

The Hinds, by contrast, are always considered moving (like sharks, I don’t think they can hover) and of course release their weapons on the move. So long story short, the Soviets have to be much more “shock”-oriented in their initial moves. Just don’t be shocked when you lose tanks wholesale . . . you can still win. The Americans, by contrast, shudder every time of their very few Abrams go up . . .

It will be interesting to see how anti-air will affect the game. I see it has having a major effect on the game if there are lots of helicopters being played. I will be rooting for the USA in these battles.
