Westfalia Miniatures has been previewing some of the new 32mm resin miniatures they are going to be bringing to Kickstarter to celebrate their tenth birthday! The Dark Ten will offer up quite a range of different sculpts from what we've seen so far.

The first of the sets for you to choose from is going to be The Company. As you have probably guessed by now, this gives the traditional Fellowship from The Lord Of The Rings a gender swap! All of the nine have been represented here from the different Hobbits through to a Dwarf, Elf, Human and Istari. I think this is a brilliant idea and it feels like they've properly captured the look and feel of each of the different characters in fun ways.

Keeping with the theme of Middle-earth but with a twist, we also have The Witchqueen's Wrath.

Here you have four wraith-styled miniatures that would be a haunting terror to face on the tabletop! I am totally up for someone recreating the scene from Weathertop with the alternative Fellowship above and the Witchqueen's servants. Again, stunning sculpting showcases the range of quirky miniatures Westfalia brings to life.

We're not done! Even more miniatures are on the way including the piratical Cannibal Corsairs who look like quite the crew of the damned.

I like the fish fellow who is out to try and get his own back on the humans that poached him from the ocean. You've also got to love the fat fellow at the back who looks like he has been on the grog. It would be hard-pressed not to paint the captain as LeChuck though that's for sure.

Last but not least (at least for now...more might be coming!) we also have these fellows, The Roachmen.

These were available previously as add-ons but are going to be available properly as part of the upcoming campaign. It looks like Westfalia are going to be covering all the bases when it comes to their offerings for this ten-year celebration.

I think you'd be hard-pressed not to come away with at least a few miniatures from this collection when it finally hits Kickstarter. The alternative Fellowship is just too lovely!

What do you think of Westfalia's teasers?
