Happy weekend all, the one good thing about not being able to sleep past 6am is that on Saturday and Sunday there is the weekender to keep me entertained!
Happy weekend from the other side of the Atlantic – where we normally get the weekender at 0:00
Absolutely amazing amount of terrain. Hope I win it!
TT-Combat have very nice terrain stuff! We used lots of the stuff for a Malifaux event in the club.
I´m hoping for some fantasy stuff coming in the future. 🙂
I am really excited seeing stuff which I think everyone can use what is great about TT combat is that they have such an amazing range.
Also, I think everyone should get the new white dwarf has a great mini, and you’d be supporting a new direction for GW.
And I think I may actually support that new hand grip.
The Thornwood looks great, but I am not sure I am going to support it because I cannot have infinite board games ha ha.
Alright guys have a great weekend.
Well after watching everything in full I have to say that prize is truly, phenomenal. The second thing is I think Carnevale is certainly looking really interesting. I certainly like the look of the terrain. I think sometimes you guys have tunnel vision I looked at those terrain pieces and thought instead of just the streets of Venice and the sunken ruins it could just as easily been Louisiana swamp town, one of the areas in Malifaux but mainly I was thinking about some sort of Brazilian setting as well.
Like when I looked at the wrestling minis, though I am not a big fan of wrestling or all of it’s accoutrements, I think that those models were great and could work as those styles of characters in D&D style games.
Yeah, I think when you look at this stuff you have to think outside the box but it is great looking stuff often 😀
I love the TT Combat stuff, while not the most deailed on the market, Its fatastically priced and fills somes in ranges.
Sweet, that’s a lot of terrain packs. I really like the bridge section pack!
Love the studio and the tables 🙂
That new White Dwarf…. man, I’ve been trying to stay AWAY from GW stuff but that was like a blast from the good old days of the late 90’s early 2000’s. I mean hell, it’s worth the fiver just to save yourself paying full whack for the Slaughterpriest (which whilst not my cup of tea is a great introduction to how good their plastics are today).
It’s the Weekend! Over to a friend’s later for a games party. Best get in the mood and catchnup with the news by watching this…
Carnevale is a fame I’ve almost jumped aboard a coupke of times now, but have either had to pull vack for my own reasons or due to stumbling KS.
Mised feelings over the new look models… There is a charm to the old range but as a Malifaux fan the artwork direction is great in a different way. Did I miss something or so far do we only have a sexy slave or sexy harlot as female minis for now? … Ummm…?!? … Moving on…
Their modular raised land tiles creating the canals is a clever idea. Something I’ve toyed with for trenches and rice fields in other scenarios before. Love the modular buildings…
Video was interrupted by delivery of my Draconus Invasion KS box… Just when I thought my KS backlog was about to get shorter you have to go and introduce me to more!!!
Apologies for typos – but retyping this a second time on my tablet (because when I pressed submit for sone reason I’d been logged out the first time) I couldn’t be arsed to spellcheck. Hopefully these foibles of the site will be sorted in BoW2.0 !?
Uhhh! Bridges!
Happy Saturday…
White Dwarf is finally back to how it should always have been. 🙂
Also… Am I missing something with the figure holder KS..? HobbyZone have been selling those for years.
“The worst nightmares you’ve ever had; that’s a marrow”.
Now given that this is Justin’s mind here, I now worry what he thinks a marrow might actually be. There’s a whole new cartoon series there but does anyone want explore this path?
Love you guys!!!
Good stuff man!!
Beautiful MDF piecese!
Happy Saturday everyone! Really gutted that I won’t be able to go to a Boot Camp, looks like such a great time. 🙁 Perhaps if I had some awesome TT Terrain to make me feel better. 😉
Good to see Carnevale found a good home.
Another excellent show guys and a fantastic prize yet again.
If I won this I’d donate it to our club and would help with our sci-fi games and tournaments
Keep up the good work
Mmmmh winning the terrain could be a perfect excuse for my wife!^^
Absolutely beautiful terrain, means I can spend more time gaming instead end of scenery building!
Really looking forward to @mage‘s Halloween competition. I have some nice Reaper pumpkin miniatures to do a little diorama. Been following it for a couple of day now.
Love TTCombat stuff. Have some of it for Pulp City and MUMG. Works well in a pinch for Infinity too.
The buildings look amazing and the Carnivale artwork was beautiful.
Still waiting for my set of halo ground command, I can’t wait.
A Prospero burns box set sounds good, Thousands vs Space wolves. My brother and I will like that.
TT Combat are brilliant
That prize from TT Combat is amazing. So much amazing Terrain in one package.
I have looked longingly at the TT Combat treeane for some time. This competition is very cool.
TT combat do have some really nice stuff 🙂
Big fan of the highways and brownstones.
Rumble slam looks like my cuppa tea, though I remember back to watching British Wrestling back in the days of Big Daddy and Giant Haystacks. There was always some old gran from the audience who’d start hitting a wrestler either hand bag. You can can keep your glitzy American wrestling and give me the old 70’s/80’s British scene any day lol…I think I may be showing my age now…;)
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BYMhEmlFp74
Carnevale looks to be getting along well. I really like the idea of jumping all over the place. So I’m looking forward for it being available again. The modular terrain looks great, as the table is important for such a game and I’m currently still missing canals and high buildings.
Hopefully the sweet water challenge will also help for this
Now how do I build a great looking easy to build gondola.
Really looking forward to the relaunch of Carney ale, I was very tempted by the first iteration of this game but kept back from diving in by the pricing. I really like the darker direction that TTCombat are taking this. I assume we will see a Kickstarter launch sometime next year.
Great to see whats old is new again!
Carnevale!
White Dwarf!
Really looking forward to @mage‘s Halloween competition. I have some nice Reaper pumpkin miniatures to do a little diorama. Been following it for a couple of day now.
That TT Terrain would be good for Deep Wars/ Shadow sea…
Great to see Carnevale back! And I hope the guys at Vesper-on games are doing well.
its really nice to see White dwarf return to a more sensible format, the weekly one was so flawed (only my opinion).
TT Combat looks like a really cool company and those models look ace, I hope I get the opportunity to handle a large portion of their scenery soon.
That new TT Carnevale terrain looks beautiful. Not heard of anyone locally playing it but now with the game getting resculpts and better support, maybe that can change.
@warzan you should check out the Parapod podcast – two British comedians, one a sceptic and one a true believer. I’ve never laughed as hard at a podcast, I’ve had to stop listening to it on the bus.
I saw the massive tower block TT have released at Salute, that was rather epic
TT Combat produce great kits and RumbleSlam sounds really fun and the minis look awesome.
Did TT also purchase the Home Raiders IP, we supported the KS, think the 1:1 scale idea and the ACE mechanic brilliant, would like to see the last remaining faction come out!
Good stuff again just got my copy of WD good read so far
Having TT Combat taking on Carnevale is brilliant.
I’ve always loved the concept and setting, but never felt that I’d be able to do the game justice – it just begs to have proper tables with canals and bridges.
Putting TT’s experience of well priced HDF terrain together with their vision for the game is perfect, I’d love to build a 3×3 table with the raised pavements and sunken canals.
Haven’t seen it all yet, some Battlefleet Gothic games coming up! But I’ll finish it tonight!
So far I really loved the Hobby’ween ideas! My hobby queue is rather full, but let’s see if I can’t fit something in. After all, Halloween is my favourite holiday of the entire year!
Pumpkins WILL be carved, at the very least!
Morning… Looks like a good show only seen about 20 mins so far as i am at Colours in Newbury today doing a game so had to be up early:-)
It’s weekender time!!!!
Quite new to Beasts of War, wish I’d found you guys years ago.
Love the looks of RumbleSlam. Can’t wait to see Justin jump from the top turnbuckle. Carnevale looks interesting as well. Like the idea of the modular terrain boards adding depth to the gaming table. Waiting for a delivery of my own board tiles from Miniature Scenery (an Australian company) which I am going to customise into some river tiles (planning on entering them into the next hobby challenge) which will also add depth to my tables. Want them to be generic so they can be used across multiple games..
Already have some City Scenics buildings from TT combat. Great stuff, plan for a full 4’x4′ board of this stuff for Project Z so will be needing a whole lot more over time.
The TT combat stuff looks good and a decent price as well.
The 30k Ahriman looks nice is one i would want to pick up just to paint.
Happy Weekend 😉
I had a weird feeling while watching the show that Justin was knowing more about the game than the guys from TT. 😉
And as for using a tablet in the toilet @dignity don’t underestimate the power of paper and watch this hilarious commercial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGcdhdwLWCE
Sadly the guys who have done most of the work on Carnevale were not available to travel over with the Rumbleslam boys but we didn’t want to miss the opportunity to show the community what we are developing 🙂 Still going to smack Dan for forgetting the Radru!!
@ttcombat Just don’t damage his precious hands, Louis! Dan needs those to design more buildings! The range you are building up to support Carnevale looks great and those raised platforms – while very simple – are going to be incredibly useful for a number of games including Frostgrave. Don’t forget some stairs!
@ttcombat you’ve done some wonderful job with the design and the fact that you bought Carnevale and keep it alive is what I really like 🙂 Don’t smack him too hard thou 😉
@yavasa – Ok that add was funny as hell XD
As to knowing games its kinda my thing 🙂 after about 7ish years as a beast I’m kinda hardwired to learn new games and be able to talk about them, that and if i like a story it’ll stick in my memory 🙂
Loving the TT stuff, would look awesome on my Marvel board
Epic terrain from TTCombat and the price point is great!
I actually bought a subscription to white dwarf when it was discounted to £50. I thought I would take a chance.
I really hated the weekly one, it was just a complete waste, and I only rarely bought the previous monthly version in its last years.
This was different, there is plenty of content as Ben says, I don;t think its quite there yet, with plenty of room for improvement, but its a great start. The best white dwarf I have read for a good 5 years or more.
Where can it improve? I think that some articles could see a bit more depth, so the challenge is for the writers to up their game a little, however I do understand it is a balance because they cover such a wide age group with the magazine.
A good example of depth would be the painting tutorials, they have eavy metal painters on hand, use that knowledge and give people some inspiration and guidance for more detailed painting.
Overall, I’m happy I got the sub if it continues like this, it is a vast improvement over everything since paul sawyer’s dwarf.
wow! really happy to hear about Carnivale – I thought I’d very much missed the boat on that. New scenery is looking pretty damn awesome too, let’s see what water effects come out of the terrain challenge before I take the plunge (sorry, terrible pun) into making some canals… Doing a lot of Team Yankee at the mo, so some canals could make for some interesting games…
That is a big lot of terrain
Those rumble slam paints were excellent, especially the goblins
Yeah Mike (Cornish Mikey) does an excellent job!
Nothing wrong with a nice quiet read in the loo.
gutted that I don’t get paid till the end of the month so unless the walking dead tickets are not sold I’ll have a sad face
TT Combat may not be the best laser cut terrain out there but their cost means you can build whole boards rather then just a few focal pieces so the board will look more detailed in the long run.
Yeah, we are really spoilt for choice when it comes to laser cut MDF and the best bit is, none of the purchases you can make are bad choices; Sixty quid on one epic 4Ground building is just as good a choice as two from Sarissa or three from TTCombat and with the improvements we’ve seen in terms of etched detail and the addition of grey board pieces, TTCombat have really edged closer to say.. Sarissa levels of quality and detail, without increasing their prices to match.
I love my TT combat paint rack, mounted it to the wall and put a shelve up over the top to hold most of my other rubbish. Never seen the buildings before. May need to investigate further.
My first post here! I really loved the carnivale terrain and idea of th canals and the bridges, would realy make a good terrain table.
I’m looking forward to seeing the terrain to accompany RumbleSlam, this looks and sounds like a really fun game.
There were a few foam mats in the Kickstarter. Would love to see props come in: ladders, chairs, that sort of thing 🙂
That was my thinking, plus cage matches anyone?
My friends have a magazine rack for the bathroom: their Loo Read.
Dad jokes aside, delighted Carnevale will live on. I have a handful of the minis and a love for the setting. The MDF terrain makes a table look a lot more easy to achieve than previously, too.
And nice to see Rumbleslam taking shape. I’m in the Kickstarter and have high hopes my Dreadball group will get right into it.
Just this week my wife ordered in some Western Buildings from TTCombat for a new Malifaux table.
Only put together one so far. Since I didn’t do the order, I was surprised to find an interior table, bar, and bottles for the Saloon. Not just an empty space. Even if you don’t use the inside, its cool to see everything through the windows and door. Its a nice touch. Happy so far.
Comment for prizes!
Loving the new carnivale, can’t wait for the ospidale to be released
TTCombat have really improved on their already nice buildings lately
I am loving the look of the new Carnivale buildings and will have to get some when they are released. I would love to get my hands on all those TTCombat buildings so that I can use them in my Walking Dead games once my pledge arrives.
Their buildings and terrain are easy to assemble and are reasonably priced. I have included some pics of some of the buildings I have purchased from TTCombat and used in my test games of the walking dead and my new favourite RV on the BOW FB page. I am hoping to have them all finished painting by the time the game arrives.
I am hoping that they will add more rural buildings such as Farm houses and barns to their incredible line of buildings that they have.
i want to win this package. please please please
So glad @warzan mentioned the Bushwackers… otherwise a strongly worded letter would have been on the way to BoW… I’ll forgive the lack of mention of the Legion of Doom, this time!!!!!
I’ve only bought one piece of TTCombat terrain and i love it. I would have bought so much more if money wasn’t tight this year. I’m still waiting to hear about the future of Home Raiders. I went in on the KS, and I’m hoping for an expanded range, and more detailed models in the future.
Really love the TTCombat stuff we have aquired so far. Have quite a few of the Western Buildings for Malifaux, and they add lots of character to the game board.
The pieces go easy together and look good even unpainted. You can get quite a few buildings and random scatter for a very reasonable price compared to a lot comparable quality vendors.
Also – I have to say, they are great at replying on their FB page in case you need support.
Great show guys!
Warren you brought back a few good memories with your WWF rant! Have to say my favourite match was Ultimate Warrior vs Macho King Randy Savage! It was the career ending match where at the end Savage turned “good” What a memory!
Really loving the new (old old new new old) White Dwarf Love there there is the battle report back, seems plenty of stuff in there to keep me reading for quite some time!
Being a massive Space Wolf fan I’m excited about these rumours of a boxed game for Prospero Burning, It will be great to burn some of those foul traitors on the table top!
Keep it up!
For Russ!
moinsen,
the models from carnevale are looking great.
i think i must order some. 🙂
cu
caleum
Great to see Carnevale back. It wasn’t mentioned but is the Carnevale terrain precoloured. Looks so damn cool, I hope so.
P.S. If all the TT combat stuff looks that good, I want the prize, like yesterday…
I’ve always liked the look of Carnevale as a game concept, but never made the leap into it as I was unsure of the longevity of it. This now seems to be resolved with the move from Vesperon games to TTCombat, so I will wait and see what the future holds.
As an avid miniature gamer and hobbyist, I am always interested in new games, new worlds to explore and lots of new magnificent miniatures that come with said new games. But I always feel that new games that are not board games, can be a risk to invest in due to longevity. When purchasing a board game (from CMON for example), there is no risk as the game will be complete and playable from the box. With a skirmish or big battle game however continued support is normally required, this can be a double-edged sword as without investing the makers will usually struggle to expand the range, but also there is then the risk that after investing the company does not receive enough investment and the game stalls. I think that this is a real issue for smaller games companies and for gamers it becomes safer to stick to the “big” games and wait for the other games to sink or swim.
Anyway I really hope that Carnevale is a success at TTCombat and will be seriously considering jumping into the Venetian world with both feet!!!
Spent the morning looking around the TT combat website – sold to man in the hat!
@warzan Sainburys is stocking it for the first time mate. So you may find it there, failing that I can pick one up for you on Monday and chuck it in next Sunday at the club
Really love the look of the Carnevale buildings I have TT’s Tavington place which I use for empire of the dead and it is a great kit for the money will look to pick some up when they are released
I have a love/hate relationship with TTCombat’s vision for Carnevale. I love where they are going with the world and love their miniatures and concept art that they have but my wallet hates the thought of having to replace the original Carnevale miniatures that I currently own.
That prize is absolutely epic and the diversity of genres and the modular style of the buildings makes it perfect for many different games, most people will find something from the prize that will work for them.
Hi Spryte, we are being careful to ensure that all of the old models still have a place in the updated Carnevale 😀
put us in . great show lads keep the great work up .TTCombat Mega Terrain
I’m with Justin – I’ve never carved a pumpkin or turnip either. In fact, like Justin, I’ve never even heard of turnip carving.
To expand on the Thousand Sons fluff: it wasn’t essentially a human version of the webway, it was gaining access to the webway, and when Magnus accidentally destroyed the Emperor’s work, what he destroyed was the wards keeping the Warp out, which allowed daemons to try and invade via the gateway the Emperor had built, which in turn forced the Emperor to sit on the Throne to try and hold them back and the Custodians and Sisters of Silence had to enter it to try and drive them back (which is why the Emperor didn’t leave Terra during the Heresy until well into the siege of the actual palace). Also, it wasn’t just the Thousand Sons who disobeyed the Psyker ban, the Space Puppies did as well but, hypocrites that they were, tried to justify it by claiming their Rune Priests were drowning on the power of the spirits of their homeworld while the Sons were just dirty witches. And then after the Heresy broke out into full conflict, several of the loyalist primarchs realised how badly the Emperor had screwed up by banning psykers because the most effective weapon they had against the daemons and other tainted combatants were the librarians (who had been returned to the rank and file) who fell back on their powers. In fact, it’s a fan theory (if not outright canon) that the whole burning of Prospero was a ploy by the Chaos Gods to eliminate the greatest threats to their plans which were the Sons and the Wolves (and it was just a bonus that the Sons weren’t wiped out and threw their lot in with Horus).
On TT combat: they do some nice kits. Been putting some of the overpass roads together and it’s surprising once assembled how big they are; they’ll definitely make for a nice focal point and will bring a whole new level to games of Batman. Currently working on the police station and have some of the apartments waiting to be opened and like those as well. Might be a bit insane though as I’m currently adding skirting boards to the station using off cuts from the mdf ‘sprues’ the kits come on (and will add them to the apartments too) and considering adding electric sockets to the walls too for extra detail, and when I do the apartments I’m planning on wall papering the interior walls rather than painting them (the instruction sheets that come with the kits look like they’ll be the perfect thickness), and I’m considering trying to think of what I could use for carpets lol.
Carnevale sounds like an interesting game, might have to look into it at some point.
Rumble Slam – think when I saw it go up on Kickstarter a while back I didn’t really give it much mind because I’m not into wrestling, but thinking of it now, it looks like it could be to wrestling what Bloodbowl is to American Football; American Football (or most sports really) is not something I’m interested in, but Bloodbowl is something I’ve enjoyed playing, both as a miniatures game and via the app on my iPad, so maybe Rumble Slam could be the same.
i glad Carnevale is still alive
@ttcombat What does “Classic” and “adding more minis in the next weeks” mean…is this a selloff of the stock from vesper-on…and when its sold its sold? Or will these be on sale parallel to the new ones and be restocked occationaly. I had a look at the shop and the ones i would want are sould out. Only for the moment…or gone for ever?
We will continue producing all of the classic range. You can use either the old or the new 🙂
Very pleased to hear that! (Although interested to see what the new sculpts look like too.)
Cool! Thx for the answer.
I would love to have a massive build session with all that goodness!!!
TTCombat stuff looks good
TTCombat produce some excellent terrain. I’m liking the way they’re taking Carnivale with the new artwork.
Carnavele back
New white dwarf
Great kick starters
Great episode
The TT Combat terrain is awesome. Well done guys.
Superb looking scenery for any game you fancy. Would love to win it, as would everyone I’m sure.
Its been a VERY long time since I ever bought something from Games Workshop (still love the games they make, but the price is too much now) but the burning of Prospero, with my favorite loyalist chapter, I might well buy into that.
And I am so looking forward to the new Icarus project kickstarter, backed the old one and was saddened when it cancelled. Was overjoyed when they announced a second attempt.
Decided to leave off buying the white dwarf till this week till I knew more about the actual content, now it’s sold out everywhere around me, oops!
Backed Rumbleslam then almost cancelled after I had a game of Gale Force 9’s WWE game (Which is insanely fun btw), decided to just stick with my pledge and am glad I did now, can’t wait till the stuff comes.
Really love the TT stuff, only got a few pieces but need to invest in more.
On the topic of Carnevale it was one I was intrigued by and would of liked to give it a go. Mainly because of all the chats you guys had about it on the show. I’m glad I should be able to get the opportunity at some point.
Lots of interesting news today I must say. I was watching the show from my hobby desk (painting up some SW: Imperial Assault heroes I never got time to finish) as you showed the kickstarter about the miniature painting device I could not help noticing that I had one finger on the models head smudging the fresh paint around. Think I will look into this kickstarter in other word. Got really nostalgic about the Mutant Chronicle stuff as well so thats on my maybe list.
Wow, that’s a mountain of terrain, that’ll be one seriously lucky person who wins all that.
Spotted the miniatures holder kickstarter last week, will definitely be jumping in on some of that, the price is great as well.
happy happiest weekender, I will make a wish and hope it’ll come true ;))
The painting Aid is kewl but dont know if this will help with an Airbrush….
I’ve heard a lot of good stuff about the new White Dwarf. I actually re-subscribed to it for the first time in a long time, but I’m still waiting for my first issue here in the US.
So much mdf so little time lol
I like the tt terrain. Not very easy for me to fiND around here though
Awesome looking terrain, and like where TT are going with the game. Bringing home the terrain for my local club!!! Luck be with me.
Wow… that is amazingly generous of TT Combat … and looks brilliant… will look more brilliant on MY gaming table and at my LGS =p #MOARGAMING
Great show. Really like the return of White Dwarf. Even the Pumpkin carving contest should be a riot.
I have an I on TT´s Terrain for a while now. I need that bridge for my Fallout gamingtable. And the gasstation of course
Quite fancy a wee squad of animated horror vegetables – poisonous pumpkins, corrupt carrots and revenant radish riding rotting rutabagas all led by the ghastly Dark Turnip – the shameful spectral scarecrow snaphance. (Time to get out the green stuff, and put away the thesaurus)
Get ready to RUMBLE!
That’s an awesome amount of scenery.. would make setting up a games club so much easier if I had all that lot.
Nice to see Carnevale still alive, and last week i was trying to find the rule book and proxy the game cause in Canada this game was hard to find so i really hope that all the TTCombat stuff will be more easy to find , cause i love RPG and Carnevale is so Dynamique than it will be one of the best for me and the cream on the cake that TTCombat offer is all those really nice buildings and decors, to make the table looks amayzing so really hope to see youre stuff around here and good luck with the Carnevale liscence
Love Carnevale. I have the Strigoi and Vatican factions. I don’t have any Venitian buildings, so tend to set my battles underground in the sewers and dungeons, using Battlesystems dungeon terrain. I like writing fluff. Once had a Chaos sorcerer in an Empire army. He thought he was still with Chaos after having a bang on the head during a previous battle and getting captured!
First of all this prize pack is off the chain! What a great way to give your gaming group some great new terrain. I believe if I would win most of this terrain would go to my group.
The bits on Carnevale look brilliant. The concept art looks super, very much liking the changes made and the reasoning behind it. Finally, if I could get to Ireland the Walking Dead boot camp sounds great! Wish I could be there.
I did a small test order from TTCombat, their stuff was great and arrived quickly.
Love the terrain options, and would to have some terrain to help demo wargames to my club
A good afternoon, just back from work and sat down to another fun show. those new buildings for Carnivale look amazing. The kickstarter for the figure holders with the metal loop finger guard remind me what the Polish company HZ already do. Keep up the good work.
Picked up a bunch of TT combat stuff at salute this year, really surprised at how cheap it was for such great quality items.
Didn’t realize TT combat was working on something else than terrain.
Gald they take Carnevale haven’t oportunity to play it before but like new artwork.
And deffinietlly tooke me on with this rumble game will look into it.
Wow that’s a lot of awesome terrain, also great to see Carnevale is back in the world. Very nice work TT Combat.
Loving the look of rumbleslam but I have concerns about the patriarch nature of both it and carnivale. Just a harlot and a slave were shown as female characters for carnivale. I appreciate that modern wrestling is pretty similar in regards to female wrestlers as the game and I’m sure Venice was very patriarch in nature but it would be nice to see some strong female characters.
All that said, the artwork and minis look fantastic.
Thanks for the kind words and don’t worry! Plenty of strong female characters in both games.
i got my copy of white dwarf from tesco, was rather surprised to see it there.
loving the new art direction of carnevale. Been wanting to get into this game for ages, but at the moment, i already have too many other games to spend my money on.
Love the TT ombat stuff for very economical terrain pieces (and paint racks!). Really interesting to hear their plans for Carnevalle too.
I’m not really familiar with TTCombat, but I love the look of their stuff! Plus, I love putting together and painting laser-cut mdf terrain.
I’ve been eying TTCombat’s stuff for a while now. They’ve got some nice retro Americana pieces I’d like for This is Not a Test.
Hobbyween, may have to give it a go. Need some inspiration to start hobbying again.
wow i love tt combats stuff i brought all their wild west stuff for malifaux which i started playing when i could not find anyone who stocked Carnevale stuff. Now i can have both mmmmmm a malifaux / Carnevale batlle is that possible. And will the new Carnevale figures be plastic
Hi, they will be resin, metal and probably at some point plastic too!
Nice Terrain
I had never heard of TT Combat until this show. Went and had a look around and I am impressed by some of their terrain and I am looking forward to Rumbleslam. I like the looks of the buildings with the removable sides instead of tops and layers but wondering how they will play in games, can’t wait to find out!
That’s some super cool Venice stuff. Love the 1″ squares, perfect for nova aetis when it arrives.
That is definately an amazing prize, maybe could have split it for a few people to win but BOW looking after their community again.
Not a carnivale player but minis look great. Good to see a good looking white dwarf on the shelves again.
Warren surprised you never mentioned Justin and his goblin tossing, another good line from Justin to put in the book.
I’m still waffling on whether I’m gonna jump in on the painting holders KS. I mean, it’s essentially just a more advanced version of what I already do, so is the extra usability going to be enough to be worth it?
Great show today guys!
Since TT-Combat picked up Carnevale, did they pick up Home Raiders as well? Great looking terrain.
I really like the use of clear bases for any game that uses a printed map. I plan to use them for Deadzone, AvP: the Hunt Begins, Aetherium and Dungeon Saga. Now if that figure holder kickstarter would design a holder for securing figures not attached to bases, so I don’t have to worry about messing up the clear lucite.
We did pick up HomeRaiders at the same time and will begin working on that as soon as possible 🙂
Backed all ttcombat’s kick starters very nice stuff
I’m actually interested in that miniature holder. I’m a very shaky painter… That’s why I tend to find “shortcuts” and easy-but-effective techniques when painting.
Love the TTcombat buildings, currently planning/dreaming about a construction site table for walking dead, with fences, girders and construction buildings. the big construction crane as centerpiece.
Carnevale was at my FLGS but never caught on and had disappeared wseveral years ago. I backed Vesperon’s other game on KS, Room Raiders and hoped both would catch on. Nice to see TTC giving it a go.
That is a lot of terrain
The new Carnivale Artstyle is a bomb… love the new Guild…
I remember the Carnevale videos and the interview with the designer and was sorry to hear it was on the verge of ending as a product line.
Seeing the story where TT saved the IP seemed like a heroic moment worthy of any RPG or scenario.
The terrain was an obstacle to me getting involved, but having no one to play against was the biggest factor.
They seem to be aiming the efforts at stores / clubs from the outset and I think that is a smart move.
I started chatting with a games club for the first time on facebook and whatsapp, which I think is my closest at Isleworth, so perhaps finding people to play won’t be such a big deal in future.
TT terrain helped me get cheaply into Operation Flamestrike because I needed a central control room to play one of the Infinity play modes I really wanted to. (Engineers Deck I think).
I’m glad to see all the cool stuff being planned for the Walking Dead boot camp because I have my ticket and I can’t wait for November to come.
Getting some Walking Dead and other horror stuff watched to acclimatise myself with the genre. (I used to get Zombie nightmares as a kid, so I haven’t really watched the classics yet).
Great Weekender. I’m wishing my life away, but roll on Sunday so we can chill out with some XLBS.
carnivale is one of the few games out there with a solid mystic atmosphere, and plays with a cinematic rythm .
Been hoping for good affordable terrain for Carnavale for years, should help bring the game the success it has always deserved. The extra detailing on the Carnevale buildings with the laser cut card really improves their look. Impressed with the increasing range and quality of buildings you can get from TT combat.
Justin – what’s a marrow?
Warren – nothing, what’s the marrow with you?
:p
Good to know Carnevale is developed further. I’m just really curious to see how the original models hold up to this new design choice. In a way I like the added character and grittyness, but I’m also a bit hesitant because of the ‘another grim-dark game’ vibe I’m getting from it.
The terrain is just awesome though. And being able to remove a wall is very clever. Also fits the theatrical feel of Carnevale quite well.
Thanks for showcasing those miniature holders. That’s a tool I might easily skip among the multitude of shinies asking attention. But when looked at more closely it could be a really useful thing. Make mini’s better, instead of making more mini’s. 🙂
Would love to get my hands on that TT combat terrain
That Carnevale Terrain looks amazing – I hope that it alone will make the game that much easier and more tempting for people to get in to.
I’m not so sure how I feel about the redesign… I have no problem with updating models, and if particular ones weren’t selling well then I guess you can read into it that the design wasn’t great, but I really like the aesthetic of the original game. Still, early days yet, and I remain interested in seeing how the new miniatures actually look.
@dignity – I don’t think Magnus the Red was upset that he was going to be confined to the Throne to power the human webway. He didn’t know that until it was too late. That’s part of the tragedy is that he acted and destroyed the Emperor’s scheme without knowing that he was intended for one of the biggest honours ever – that he arguably had a more important role to play than Horus and it’s one he would have felt honoured by.
I didn’t much like the Thousand Sons novel, in part because I don’t feel Magnus’ decision to switch sides was explained or justified very well. It seems that he decided to accept his fate and be destroyed along with his legion, so full of remorse was he with what he’d done, but his hand was forced by his legion deciding to fight the hated Space Wolves and in the middle of it he seemed to think ‘hell, I can’t just let my boys get wiped out by this bunch of savages’. But it didn’t seem very convincing to me.
Carnevale is one of my favourite games and settings we’ve looked at over the years. I’m so happy to see that TT look to be doing a good job at moving it forward.
@dracs – I’ve just found the 2012 Carnevale week, filmed before I was a BoW regular, and have begun working my way through it. Love Count Pantelone!
Did you guys ever film an actual battle? (It looks like you’ve got elements of a battle in rules explanations, but do you have a full ‘let’s play’ type game?)
I did not know about Rumble Slam before this show and it sounds like a ton of fun. I am also really excited about the updates to Carnivale. I got into that game as part of the Home Raiders Kickstarter and was sad to hear that Vesper-on games was folding. Glad to see that somebody has picked up and is taking it in a great direction.
I better pick up some more wood glue! I’ve already won so twice in one lifetime would be surprising! Always a great show to watch in the morning for me, that Rumbleslam looks like it could be the new Dreadball, such characterful models….. I need to hit the gym..
The Venetian buildings could be used for any older Italian buildings so useful for WW2 Italian theatre as well
That terrain looks awesome! Commenting for a chance to win! 😀
The new Carnevale stuff looks promising
My First Xwing templates was TT Combat !!
Hey guys love the show! I have been a backstager for over a year now and I have to say it has really been worth it. Having been a tabletop gamer since the age of 7 and living in the US Midwest the heart and soul of gaming at least in this country, it has been great to see the global community and realize the real connection there is that crosses oceans and continents.
The thing I struggle with most in gaming is I feel that it has more than ever become a rich man’s hobby, and I am definitely not a rich man. The technology being used to create the objects we game with in an ideal world would lower the cost of the hobby, but in many ways the cost keeps going up. I find my ways around this by building my own terrain and finding alternate Worcester for miniatures and concentrating on game with low model counts.
When the laser cut and 3D printing industry took off I thought that this was the start of a revolution that would allow anyone to afford to build tables and scenery to the level that most of us only get to experience at conventions like GenCon or Adepticon. This however has not been the case. So while I would love to load my table full of 4ground buildings and load a table with GW minis, I will continue to build my own terrain and concentrate on games that don’t expect me to spend $10-$100 a mini.
Keep doing what you guys do and I will continue to spend a portion of my hobby budget to support you …
Ps…..I would love to win that terrain
The TT Combat stuff looks great and I’m glad to see them pick up Carnivale…
The modular terrain is very impressive – I like the ability to mix and match, add levels and throw in variations that may not have been seen before.
TT Combat terrain is excellant! I git a bunch of stuff for Batman. Very happy with it!
I really like the idea of a themed hobby project.
The timing is about perfect as the P500 of tabletopwelt will usually start November 1st.
Though I have to say that horror is one of the genres that do not interested me. I’m looking forward for the threads though. Might never know what cool ideas people come up with. 🙂
That Carnivale terrain looks really shiny!
And, of course, I need to win the TT Prize!
Cheers!
I gotta say, the new White Dwarf looks like something I need to pick up! lso that’s a heck of a prize from TTCombat!
Great to hear how much effort TTCombat is putting into Carnevale. I’ve always loved the setting and the miniatures but only this year got to play my first demo game and of course after that all the stuff with Vesper-on happened. I managed to buy bunch of models right after Vesper-on announced they’re closing down and now I’m really happy to hear I can get more of them from the “classic” range TTCombat is bringing back. Of course I’m really anxious to see the new style and sculpts too!
The miniature holders look useful, although I think I’ve seen similar before.
And White Dwarf, I thought I’d never say this again, but I might have to go and pick up an issue. I won’t disclose where I’ll be reading it though…
I’d love to be the winner of all of that terrain.
Debating with myself between a classic nightmarishly sinister Victorian haunted house and a modern, hellishly oppressive survival-horror style office setup…
“Blood for the blood gods, skulls for the stock holders!”
Happy Saturday! I’d love a chance to win! Thank you!!!
It is nice to see, that TT Combat will continue the Carnevale line. I would be interested to see, if they have also acquired the licens for Home Raiders and if they have any plans for it…
Really impressed with TT Combat, will be following their exploits with Carnevale very closely.
Pleased that white dwarf has gone back to being monthly.
I’m very excited about the return of Carnevale. I was about to dip into it when it folded. The new artwork looks like it will be even more appealing now.
Really looking forward to what Eric Lang is doing with Oni.
All of that hugging and hand-raising after the match was Hogan’s way of making sure the spotlight was on him and not the Warrior, and it worked. If the match is on youtube you’ll see how obvious it all is. Six years later Shawn Michaels won the title off Bret Hart at Wrestlemania and told Bret to eff off out of the ring so as not to have the same thing happen to him.
Everything is better with a land shark
Good morning all,
That TT terrain looks really nice. I really like the way the handled the canals with the platform risers. I also like the approach to multi story buildings. Both the modular idea and the removable sides. I can see myself picking some of this up for other systems as well. A little BA or K47 in Venice. Of course I like the darker direction for Carnevale as well.
i’m excited for rising sun, my personal favourite of todays offerings.
nice to see white dwarf getting back to its best.
I like the new direction for carnevale and having great looking terrain really adds to the overall appeal .
good job on the interview Justin.
i watched this, this morning, and forgot to comment – oops.
The Carnevale art looks rather nice, not sure if its my thing though.
Still not seen the new WD, doo want to ahve a looky too.
TT Combats terrain is great, nice and simple but it offers the stuff other ranges forget
I am glad to the Carnevale IP Alicia and well. I will have to go back a hav another look at the old vids. Hopefully the new rules won’t change too much. I really like the new art direction and the terrain looks brilliant.
Justin you are so engaging when you interview people. Nice to see Carnivale making a comeback but much improved it would seem and loving the venetian buildings.
Sorry for poor typing, meant Alive And well.
Happy weekend. Again a good watch
Loving those buildings for Carnevale, looking forward to see what you are up to with this.
I’ve not heard of TT combat but the stuff on their web site looks great.
Holy crap, thats a ton of terrain. I might have to look more into them. The holder for painting is now on my radar as well. Will have to check that out more as well. Looking forward to tomorrows show.
that prize is one of the best they have ever done good going
Happy Weekend!
At the start when a Haunted House was mentioned, am I the only one who immediately thought of The Adams Family house.
New White Dwarf is magnificent, back to the old ways, focusing on the Hobby again.
The TT Combat/Carnevale stuff looks interesting…NO…NO…Self-control, self-control.
RumbleSlam! looks utterly bonkers in the best way possible, can’t wait to see the Demo game 😉
All that Terrain o_0 where on earth would I keep it? Were I to win that is.
Another Ace show, see you Backstage 😀
really excited to see where they take Carnevale, absolutely love the new art. Also gotta say winning that Terrain would make me a real Fancy Zod.
This terrain would be great for my YouTube tutorial video, future Twitch streaming and of course my gaming table. Looks TTCombat puts out a high quality product at a very reasonable price.
I’m glad to hear that TT Combat have a direction for Carnevale, I’ve heard much good about the game.
I can’t believe I’m saying this but I’s like to see some play throughs of the Carnevale and Rumble Slam rules. It’s not like I need *another* two systems ti get into but they look like fun.
@ttcombat :
Looking forward to seeing the Rumbleslam Kickstarter delivered once it is done 🙂
It’s been quiet lately, but the interview showed how good the minis for the starter set have become.
Is there going to be an official update for the backers ?
Perfect for Malifaux and many others! Want!
I have never heard of TT Combat, thanks for the Add. Warren.
Unfortunately I have just bought 2 15mm sets.
Thanks a bunch Warren.
“WELCOME TO JUSTINS COUNTRY FILE WRESTLING” Where heroes jump off the turnstile… Priceless!
If you need anything from fantasy to modern, TT Combat can do the job, The Price Is Right
All my Malifaux games have TT Combat Buildings,
(Lloyd, my new perches was the Old West from TT Combat Train, 2 Carriages and Track for a game in three weeks time, of Malifaux also need to build the station the fights in).
But stating off this week with Snow on a Tombstone, (if i can get some pictures to work from phone to computer lol, my pictures never made it to yous for the Infinity Campaign so don’t hold your hopes up to high, Can say when it comes to these things with a computer i’m Well Behind, even with your info on down loading Re-Roll, sorry cant even do that right).
but as you can see can still type lol…
I’m definitely looking TT Combat for The Walking Dead when I get it. I think you’ll be able to build a decent looking table at a pretty good cost.
I’m really enjoying the content of the new White Dwarf. Cant wait to see next months issue.
great show guys the paint figure holder look good certainly help with the shakes were all getting as old age catches up.
Wow Carnevale on some sweet terrain might just get me into it
Happy weekend! That terrain is so awesome, I’d love to play Freebooter’s Fate on a table filled with it!
What the (edited for content………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..) How do you get this great stuff!!!!! Wow you guys rock
i never really understood why they messed with White dwarf in the first place, i had copies dating back to the start and dropped the new old format of weekly and visions it didnt even manage to get a space in the toilet magazine rack ( i live on my own). Now i cant even get a copy of the new one to see if im tempted back,
Oh well such is life…………..
Wow, such an epic giveaway!
Carnavale looks to have found a great place to thrive and the board setup & buildings are great.
See you tomorow
TT Combat, looks like some nice terrain.
Oh man, if I could, I would for the The Walking Dead: All Out War Bootcamp! That’s my kinda gaming weekend.
Blaster was here…
happy weekend. one thing that puts me off from Carnivale is terrain, you need ish specific terrain for that game. sure Malifaux and Wolsung maybe Batman fit in to that category to but they are not that narrowed.
I’m really interested in trying out Carnival and RumbleSlam after seeing this preview.
Have to say seeing TTCombat terrain makes me happy. There are 2 pieces they make specifically that I feel that are way too underrated.
1. Their freeway/highway terrain. As a Californian I know all to well the importance of major freeways and highways in urban terrain. They are key features of modern cities, think of the strategic value of bridges during WW2 in Europe and it has the same priority in major cities now and in the future. Ive been saving up to purchase a number of their highway systems for a huge multi-table board where being on the highway would boost your speed more than most game systems “double movement on roads” rules. Coming from someone who’s both living in one of the densest cities in America and a former US Marine let me tell you, if you control the highways your control of the city is much easier. Come out with a 15mm version and the Team Yankee players will easily see the value.
2. The cargo ship! anyone who played the original Call of Duty Modern Warfare will always remember the cargo ship mission. Theres another terrain piece that used on its own could be an amazing skirmish/kill team style piece or an objective held in a port. Another one I cant wait to get my hands on.
Keep up the great work TT Combat!
Really interested to see where the new TT Combat stuff goes. Carnivale looks amazing
I could use some more WWII terrain, and my local gaming store could really use the rest of this week’s prize.
I would love to get that terrain. I host games at my house often and it would be put to very good use! Love the weekender and the XLBS show. Every Saturday and Sunday I watch it religiously. Keep up the good work boys. Big love from across the pond.
Any knews on Home Raider? I really loved the idea of it and was looking to get a couple of starter sets.
I’m eager to see that wrestling demo game. I almost backed the kickstarter and I want to know what I missed.
It’s amazing what TT Combat is up too! These guys are on fire! Glad to see their love of everything gaming!
Another great weekender, thank you for the Kickstarter nod for painting grips, checked it out and made a pledge.
The platforms that allow for easy canal terrain are brilliant! Those pieces aren’t just great for Carnivale, they’d make amazing tables for Malifaux, Wolsung, modern black-ops games, all kinds of different scenarios.
It’d be really cool to play a game of Bolt Action with that table as the allies move in through Italy. 😀
Happy Saturday everyone. The buildings look amazing, I just hope there resonably priced. I’d love to pick some up. And you guys carving pumpkins or anything sounds cool.
I am glad that someone came in to save Carnevale. I love skirmish games, and to have one where the rules support all the cinematic moves that you want your heroes (or anti-heroes if you will) to pull off. This was a great game for flavor, and I hope it keeps going.
Great show, thanks.
If I could win this for me and my friends, we could help jumpstart more miniature gaming at the local gaming store near us. Might have to see about ordering some buildings when we can regardless from TT
I backed the original Carnevale and love the miniatures and the quality of the hardcover rulebook. I really feel it has found a great new home listening to the guys at TTcombat.
Looking forward to new minis and some great terrain.
All I can say is that I’m super glad Carnivale is still alive and beating.
Hope it’s chips, it’s chips.
Look forward to this every week… Terrain looks good… fingers crossed
I think you guys are enabling my terrain addiction… 🙂
Great weekender again with the guys from tt combat they do some nice mdf buildings and the tower.block is amazing I saw it at salute but is was just out of my price range on the day can’t wait to see what else they come up with for carnevale.
The Halo ground battles looks really good. Ordered it at Wayland games a month ago but still waiting for my order to be sent. Hopefully it will arrive soon.
The MDF stuff looks good to.
I have used a lot of TTCombat scenery for my Batman Table. Great stuff.
Just looked on the Spartan games site. They have some problems keeping up with demand. Could take another 4 weeks until I get it. 🙁
Carnevale looks even more amazing. Sharkaroasuarus woo-hoo man that looks scary and some great terrain
I’m glad that the Carnevale license has been picked up and that they’re going darker with it. I’ve been interested in it for a while and I think I’ll start to pick it up when the new minis arrive.
prize ……….oooooohhhhhhh……..drooling
I really would like to give Carnevale a try… the setting is awesome and I really like the Horror & Cloak and Dagger mixup.
Freebooters Fate – while awsome – has lost a bit of flair recently for me, because games tend to much alike.
Carnevale seems to counter this by employing some intersting ideas.
I nearly back RumbleSlam at Kickstarter but could not get my gaming groupe interested, Now that I find I can pre-order I am so tempted. So please Beasts of War get the demo video up be for they take the pre-order option down!
I was hoping TT Combat was going to come out with their own line of terrain for Carnevale.
TTCombats “Back Alley Accessories” are a must for most modern/near scifi gaming tables, makes a great addition to all kind of scenery and gives it a living feel. Also very afordable.
Absolutely love TT Combat buildings. Still trying to work out how to get the Galaxy building into my Batman games, it will happen but it is so huge. I haven’t found a larger building kit in this scale. What a fantastic product. Also really glad that Carnevale is back. Love the concept and perhaps once the project backlog is clear this might hit the development list for 2017. Thanks to TT Combat for some affordable pricing on the game. That was a big barrier to entry and now the game is also affordable I’m seriously tempted.
@ warzan, on the topic of where to find White Dwarf – I got mine at my local Tesco.
That TTCombat tower is fantastic, got to see it at Salute and was so impressed with how many games system it could be used for. Fun story, I managed to talk Spectre Miniatures into buying it at Salute, hoping to see it in the background of their forthcoming rulebook
A heap load of prize there. I have a couple of buildings and found them to be really good value for money. I need to do a bit more research into the best paint products for these types of buildings. I hadn’t realised that they had picked up the Carnivale IP and look forward to seeing where they go with it. Really like the themed scenery to go with it.
It was great listening to you guys reminisce about classic WWF. My five-year-old son is into wrestling at the moment, so I’ve been introducing him to the wrestling I watched when I was a kid. He loves Ultimate Warrior and Legion of Doom.
P.S. @warzan: Demolition were my favourite too, but I didn’t even know who Kiss were at the time. When I first saw pictures of the band, I thought they’d copied Demolition’s look!
Wow that is a serious amount of terrain, that would really cool to be able to create a nice WWII city scene for my Bolt Action.
I’m really happy to see that Carnevale has a new home and great prospects. The minis were always great and to enhance the game with TT Combat scenery and products is such a positive thing. It is great that the gaming community can come in to help others. It was through BOW that I heard about the potential demise of Carnevale and so plaudits to TT for taking the business risk.
The new White Dwarf is fantastic. I feared for the demise of GW with the radical killing off of the original Warhammer environment in favour of AoS and the poor choice to change long term WD subscribers to receiving the Warhammer visions picture show. I’m glad I retained my subscription as what came through my letter box has grabbed my interest and kept me engaged from cover to cover for a good couple of hours compared to the 10 minutes for Warhammer Visions. Still some room for improvement, but definitely a step in the right direction.
BOW keep rocking and rolling. Thanks to you I’m now a KS addict and eagerly waiting for Diehard Miniatures next Oldhammer KS at beginning of October.
Who said you can have too much terrain!!!!!!!!!!!!
The TT Combat stuff is really good, my friends and i only have a small amount of it having picked up a few kits at Salute when we started getting into the Batman Miniatures game, and we keep wanting to expand so that we can start getting more people interested in it – though a fancy board made from those kits could be really useful!
The new Carnevale inspired buildings look amazing, and ive not seen the RumbleSlam stuff till i saw this video, I know that it would appeal to a few of our friends who are into wrestling – Keep up the great work guys!
Great show as per normal. The terrain give away is amazing! Love that someone is continuing to run with Carnevale and the digital sculpts look very interesting
Very nice buildings…really like the theme! Must look into this Carnevale game after seeing the concept art…and have been in Venice once so know the setting somehow!
After my heavy investment into the Carnivale kickstarter it’s great to see the IP not only picked up but getting a fair amount of life put into it. It’s also really handy to see a terrain range growing up around it, I have to admit one of the big stumbling blocks for me was the need [I realise I could play it on what ever table, but come on it’s gotta be played in Venice 🙂 ] to build up a completely different style of table compared to what I have already lying around.
That is a neat price! Carnivale looks cool aswell!
Great show again!
I could easyly imagine to steam- or cyberpunkyfy those Carnivale buildings – would’nt that be awesome 🙂
Rising Sun looks just amazing – love to see more of those artworks.
I’m so glad to see Carnevale get a second lease on life. Such a great setting, a slick rules system, and characterful models. And the new concept art shows a refined direction that breathes new life into the game. I have renewed motivation to paint my ostrich-riding Pucinellas!
Happy to see Carnevale get a second least on life thanks to TTCombat for that.
So many TTCombat goodies…
What an awesome world Carnevale looks! And the terrain is so adaptable…I’m in
Morning, gents!!! (At least it is here in the states) Enjoyed the weekender as always, especially the segment on tt combat and Carnivale. Even though i never played the game, i still remember Warren’s exuberant retelling of his gaming experiences, and i feel tt combat can instill that same level of enjoyment and thrilling gameplay as they continue producing and expanding carnivale. Their scenery is phenomenal, and can’t wait to see it painted up and set up for tabletop display/gaming.
As for the giveaway………WHOA, MAMA!!!!!!!! That’s some sweet terrain, whoever gets this is gonna be VERY VERY happy indeed!!! TT Combat, you’ve outdone yourselves with this.
And WWF?…Classic! Massive part of my childhood, all had their favourite wrestler. Will always remember Jake the Snake Roberts’ getting his massive Python out, and it attacking Macho man randy Savage. 😉
The VHS tapes and figures…And the collector cards!! Nearly cried early on when I swapped Brett Hart for The Model Rick Martel and being told he was basically rubbish and The Hitman was awesome! Much better back then, having less belts and wrestlers being like comic book characters. Good times.
Great prize this weekend. I’ve been making an industrial estate game board from scratch over the last few years (with a young family there’s not enough time during the week!) for squads of Daleks to face off against U.N.I.T forces. I’ve got one building left to build but the warehouse from TT Combat would look great on the board, save me a job and I’ll finally get to have a Doctor Who themed skirmish! Heaven…
The TT Combat terrain looks awesome. And I can’t wait to see the growth of Carnevale.
As a KS backer of Carnevale, I’m really happy to see TT Combat have given it a new lease of life. Can’t wait to see what direction they will take it!
That’s a mammoth prize!
In regards to the White Dwarf rerelease, I picked it up as a re-entry into the GW hobby. I wanted to read up on AOS and a free AOS mini was a bonus. I went to my local “warhammer” store as it is now known. I went in 4 times in 1 day before they got em in! they sold out so quick!
I digress, the magazine was fantastic! It was full of great articles and I was pleased to see conversions in there too. It is a far cry from what I remember (I have an issue somewhere that had a converted ATST toy that they turned into an Imperial guard titan. Best issue ever) but it still was filled with interesting articles and all sorts of rules and stuff!
I was worried it would be a glorified catalogue, to some degree it is but they have definitely toned it down from what it has been like over the last 10 years.
Overall, chuffed with it (picked up the storm of sigmar box the next day!)
I shall definitely be picking up those carnevale buildings with the balconies to go on my existing board. Happy TT are releasing new models and rules, though Justin you didn’t ask anything about the actual game, what are they looking at changing etc (did you get any info off camera?).
Nice show.
Like the look of the new terrain.
The wrestling game sound interesting. Look forward to the play through.
Good Stuff Guys as Always!!!!!
I have a few of the TT combat buildings and accessories, very easy to put together and easy to add extra detail to, they look great in my Pulp Alley town.
I wish White Dwarf went back to what it was in the 80’s lots of varied content, not just GW stuff.
I’d like to have the set for my fantasy and rpg games.
Wasn’t really planning to back any kickstarters any time soon, but those mini holders look tempting….
….Amazing show as always…..Must say i definetely must try to go to one of your Boot camps one of this days 😀
TT Games is some fun stuff
I really like the direction TTCombat is taking Carnevale!
Really excited to see what happens with carnivalle next.
With all the hype surrounding the new White Dwarf I popped into my FLGS (the fact it’s run by a mate helps), and picked up my first White Dwarf in over 20 years. Had to say I thought it was really good, liked the free model, even if it’s head is a bit small. For me it is a bit of a return to form to the good old days of the late 80’s and early 90’s. Think I’ll pick up the next few just to see if they can keep the standard up, which I’m sure they can, GW has so much to draw from that as long as it doesn’t turn into a monthly sales mag they can’t really go wrong.
If anyone has WD124 there’s a picture of a 12 year old me getting rinsed at a 3D game of Space Hulk at that years Games Day, good times.
You guys are costing me a fortune with your Kickstarter recommendations.
Damn, thats really impressive terrain
I’m hopping that the minature grip will improve my painting, the Carnevale figures look cool and the halloween hobby challenge look fun
Really looking forward to get the new Carnevale miniatures available. Anyway, I’d loved to get some information with wath will be hapening with the rules. Will we be getting a third version of the ruleset? Also, do they plan to release re-sculpts of the already exisitng miniatures only or will they also sculpt the profiles that currently stand without a miniature of their own?
Lastly, I’m really fond of some of the original miniatures, so the move torwards making them available in a few weeks is a welcome one from my side.
I love the terrain, but the Carnival stuff creeps me out. The wrestling games seem so ridiculous, it might be fun. Waiting for the video.
Jake the snake Roberts. 🙂
Love the scenery….
Dammit. Now you have me wanting to check out the new White Dwarf. I’ll have to see if the local store has any left…
Rumble slam sounds great, loved jester. They are hitting sultry well with the harlot of Venice too.
If only I had a lot of table top kit to play on……
Just looked at the TT Combat website and they do loads of good terrain.
Sweet, who knows this time Lady Luck smiles at me?
So chuffed when I first heard the news Troll trader were picking up Carnevale. When Vesper on announced they were giving up I thought we were going to lose a great game before most people knew it even existed.
Hopefully they get to give Home Raiders some Darker elements.
The Rumble Slam models remind me of the old school side scrolling Fighter Arcade games from my childhood, can’t wait to pick up some of the Human miniatures.
Been following Carnevale since the original release and supported the Kickstarter. Really glad to see it picked up by TTCombat. Have a lot of their terrain I use with the Batman MG. I’ve been impressed with the quality and price of their terrain sets and their level of customer service. Love the “darker” tone they’re going for with Carnevale. The game couldn’t be in better hands
Great episode guys!
Ya the new White dwarf is great, im so happy I decided to get a subscription.
Thats a amazing prize and all that terrain looks great.
Wow cool prize from TT combat
I really love the idea of the Miniature Holders and Grips kickstarter. I always find myself accidentally touching/rubbing parts of the miniature I have already painted when trying to paint something at a higher quality. It is very frustrating to spend so much time painting something, only to find you have accidentally removed a layer of paint.
Can never have too much MDF terrain.
Looking sweet love all the buildings. Fantastic shows
Damn you TT Combat, do not tempt me with your lovely Carnivale!
Nightmarium looks great too!
So much good stuff, not enough time…
It’s great to see White Dwarf going back to the old approach!
I personally don’t care about the gw – stuff, but the tt stuff is lookjng really nice!
Still watching the show, but I really really love Halloween competitions. If you like scary Nightmares, you definitly need to play The Dreamer of Malifaux or Pandora, if you fancy Poltergeists 😉

But I still like the old diorama of my wife. It is a piece of De Wallen in Amsterdam, so it is a red light district, but I would be hell to see these girls working there.

And now have seen the whole show. Thanks again. Much inspiration. The TT Combat scenery looks very good. I hope a game club will win it, so it can be shared with lots of people. It is what you guys say, we need to help each other. I am thinking to make some Islands myself, the concept of TT Combat is very good. Maybe I will buy some bridges. I want to use it for Freebooter’s Fate.
Wow I swore off kickstarter some time ago, but this Rathcore V3 looks like a genuine help with painting. They might get me pledging once again.
The TT’s sky scraper at Salute is probably the finest bit of scenery I’ve ever seen. I spent all day trying to convince my free spending friend that he really *needed* it…..
I´m waiting for the Icarus kickstarter.
I have a Troll Trader landing pad I need to paint! It looks amazing as does all their scenery. Any advice for painting MDF?
I wouldn’t even know where to begin with all of that terrain
Awesome looking terrain!
Great show guys! That terrain is amazing!
Fantastic stuff from TT Combat, great to see such a wide variety coming out of one place. Wonder if they need a software dev?
I’m a big fan of the modular aspect to build the canals and the crowded Venetian city streets. Big thumbs up from me.
I just hope TT isn’t going to kickstart to fund their version of Carnevale. I know a lot of people who already have distrust towards this game system purely on the fact that this game was dropped not long after they funded the last kickstarter. I don’t think they will be back. Once bitten and all that.
TT Combat’s terrain looks absolutely spectacular for both versatility and value. Even someone as penny pinched as me could create a beautiful, interesting gaming table at an affordable cost.
TTCombat is about to have a ton of my money. RumbleSlam is right up my groups alley and I will have some land sharks terrorizing a table full of Venetian city.
Are there kickstarters planned, or did I miss them already?
I had no idea TT Combat existed. Thanks for hosting them this weekend! Carnivale looks brilliant!
Love watching the weekender while making or painting my new Concord for Gates of Antares
BoW consistently puts out great content, keep it up!
As a terrain buff myself, I can’t believe where our hobby has gone in the past few years. Tables that I could only drool over in magazines when I started are possible with some basic techniques and some savings. Amazing stuff they’ve got for Carnivale.
Would love to win the terrain package so I can start playing some of these games at my local club. We’re just starting a club and don’t have much terrain built yet.
I am loving the new look of the Carnevale, it is the game that got away. I got into Home Raiders and was gearing up to get into Carnevale when it ended. Thank you so much TT for allowing me to get into one of the games that brought me to the hobby. Any ideas on the release date, so I can grab them all?
Very nice buildings for a beautiful gaming table. One of my favorite memories of WWF was when Andre the Giant was choking Hacksaw Jim Dugan, who then got his 2×4 andere clubbed Andre to the head and unconcious. I still don’t think that was fully scripted because Andre was bleeding very heavily.
Another great show guys. Keep up the more than excellent work.
Damm rumbleslam looks cool how amazing would be recréate the 90s fights on a fantasy world with trics like chairbeaten or highjump. Jaja prety interesting one. About Carnevale i was disapointed when mi ks arribem and few days later vesperon closed his doors. Like my founds wont helped at all and no support on community by the creator, Lets look how it goes now, Please redesign rulebook and give it for free and develope several narrative campaings.
How to choose what to comment on froma ~90 minute show that includes Toilet jokes, large vegtables (and the fact that Justin didn’t know what a ‘marrow’ was), anecdotes about terrifying young children, great kickstarter reviews, moch foreign accents and jokes, talk about ghosts, and one of the best FREE wargaming giveaways yet seen, as well as anything that comes into Warren’s mind – at any time? LOL
Keep it up, it’s brilliant! 🙂
I am so thrilled to see that Carnavale is still with us. I look forward to seeing where they take the game.
There is so much stuff from TTcombat I want to put on my table…
Interesting to hear that White Dwarf is going back to being an actual hobby mag. Somedays I wonder if GW are actually learning something! 😉
I’m interested ’bout Carnevale. The former minis didn’t catch me, th new ones look very nice
This was an interesting episode for me.
I had heard of RumbleSlam, but didn’t think much of it even though I didn’t really know anything about it. Now I’m intrigued and waiting to watch the promised play through.
Similarly, I had heard of the mini holders kickstarter, but assumed it would just be a fancy cork/film canister/paint pot equivalent. But they’re actually making something quite innovative and I may have to get in on that.
Glad White Dwarf is back to a format that resembles the one of my youth. When i was a teenager and in only a small circle of gamers, White Dwarf was a wider view of the world ahowing models, armies, and skills that no one i knew possessed. I hope it still has that effect for folks. Loved everything the TT Combat guys showed off. Abaolutely brilliant terrain designs for Carnevale.
Long time listener, first time caller. I’ve been watching the YouTube channel for a while now, but the TTCombat terrain package is too beautiful a thing to not try winning.
I’m completely new to wargaming, honestly. Outside of HeroClix, the closest thing to miniatures I’ve played has been games like Arcadia Quest, Zombicide and Star Wars: Imperial Assault. However, after 3 years of going to GenCon, I have decided to finally take the plunge. I have it narrowed down to some choices, but still researching.
Anyways, enough about me. Long story short: new to the party, love the show, and can’t wait to dive in!
Great looking MDF kits from TT combat.
What is worse: Live being not good to me or the undead? Well, in this case both come together because sadly I won’t have the time to get to the “Walking Dead Bootcamp”, since it is the most stressful time of the year in my job. But to have a little fun with not living things, I will definately participate in the Halloween-Hobby-Fun-Event and paint and craft until hell freezes. 🙂
Winner will need to buy 5 more elevated roadway packs…the good kind of problem to have.
That is an unbelievable prize. I have been interested in Carnevale before but never picked it up as our has a number of games already. This has reignited my interest so may give it a shot now.
That terrain prize looks awesome. So do the Carnivale miniatures and artwork.
I love the stuff that TT combat do and I have a few of their buildings ready for when Mantic’s walking dead comes out soon. I may have to look at carnevale as some of the art work is fantastic.

I also like the new new new old style White Dwarf magazine. I stopped getting it when it changed to the weekly and visions version as the content had become very poor even though the content had been poor for sometime. I am glad that they have gone back to the old format and actually have articles that are worth reading. Now if only Ronnie Renton can make a Mantic version, I will be very happy.
Really cool seeing the TTCombat guys. I just got one of the painting stations from them and I’m really digging it.
I’m looking forward to The New White Dwarf 🙂
Stacks of great terrain, very cool that tt have taken on carnevale and going to take it places
@warzan. I really think you need to reconsider your position on Poltergeists. It could actually work out well if you were haunted by a dearly departed gamer who doesn’t want to move on to the next plain of existence. Picture this. You leave your minis, tools, painting gear, etc on the table and wander off. You come back later and the poltergeist has built and painted them for you. Then you could get a game with it. If it can move chairs, tables, fling books across the room etc, then it will have no problems moving minis around the table. A mate who gives you free labour, plays games with you AND who won’t drink all your beer or eat your pizza in the process. Even if it was in a bad mood and started flinging stuff around, could it be any worse than having John about the place when he goes off on one?!
The ttcombat stuff look realy good.
the carnevalle stuff looks awesome 🙂
Siege of the Citadel looks awesome!
I’ve got to say, the new white dwarf is looking excellent! I started getting into 40k and gw products right around the time their full monthly magazine was being scraped for the weekly “product catalog” So I’m please to see this make a return. I just hope their future issues hold up to the same quality.
Is there a provisional date for the carnevale figures and terrain?
Thanks
I love the Halo minis!
Love the smell of MDF in the morning. thats an awesome prize.
Cool, shout out for me 🙂
Great show as always.
Like the idea of the model grips and the wrestling game sounds great fun.
Wow what an amazing bundle – it shall be mine! Muhahaha…
The wooden terrain looks so good that I don’t think I would paint it if I win.
Really looking forward to the continuation of Carnevale. We just go into it with last Kickstarter (I think about 1,5 years ago) and were heartbroken, when Vesper On discontinued the line. The new Artwork looks really dark, but I think it’s a good match. Hopefully the minis will be as good.
Always been a fan of TTCombat terrain. Definitely something I would like to get my hands on. I always wanted to go to one of your bootcamp. maybe next time 🙂
Games Workshop really have made a turn for the better.
I’m waiting for the Walking Dead bootcamp!
I’m not really into wrestling but Rumbleslam sounds interesting
The White Dwarf looks promising!
Thank God Venice scenery. I love carnivale (and venice) but getting a board right was beyond my scenery making skills
I was not familiar with the TT Combat range before. Thank you for introducing them.
On the topic of the marrow, in @dignity s defence I’ve never heard of them either, and I’m a vegetable farmer. Basically it seems its an older zucchini (thank you google)
Regretting not backing Rumbleslam now, looking forward to the play through. Like the direction @ttcombat are taking Carnevale
Great show guys! I’d love to win that terrain prize to kickstart my skirmish games.
That Carnevale terrain looks very nice.
Those miniature holders are brilliant. I jumped on that kickstarter right away. Although waiting until July is going to kill me!
Also, I’d love to win that prize.
If you can’t wait; look in to Hobby Zone a Polish company, they already do a very similar holder.
Great Video guys, I’m just about to order a load of buildings from this company to build a Project Z table! They look great and seem to be well priced in comparison to other pdf terrain companies!
Carnivale rox! Cool to see it in good hands!
Carnevale was somewhat at the back of my head until now. Now it’s in front of me.
Lovely terrain possablilties…
I was actually kinda hoping the walking dead bootcamp was sold out by now so I’d feel better about not being able to go. Dammit.
Also @warzan , don’t feel bad about not being able to keep your warthog upright, happens to a lot of blokes as they get older.
White Dwarf is back at last!
I’ve been losing sleep as I think about how awesome this prize is! Whether I win or not, I need to know so life can go back to normal 🙂
Hi guys, im getting catch up w weekenders.. and i must say amount of wood in this episode is just hugely pleasent 😉 but seriously.. this is true epic prize to win this week.. check out TTCombat website .. have you seen all those goodnes.. this HDF terranin looks so awesome.. ive just get my things together and start doing something for my gaming table 🙂
I never knew he had a neck tattoo
Carnevale is looking rather cool, great to see it brought back and refueled! 😀
Really sad I missed the Rumble Slam kickstarter it looks really good as does the terrain from TT Combat, I will have to get some stuff for the Marvel mini game
Missed Carnevale the first time round. I’m kinda excited to get another chance to dive into those murky waters
My goodness that is an epic terrain prize!
