New High Elf Team Elegantly Leaps Into Blood Bowl!
January 19, 2026 by brennon
Finally, after quite a wait, the High Elves are getting themselves a new plastic team for use in the Fantasy Football game, Blood Bowl.
The Caledor Dragons // Blood Bowl
The Caledor Dragons are waiting in the dugout, ready to run out onto the pitch and show the other teams why making those snide remarks about Ulthuan will get you a boot in the face and a punch in the nether regions. There are plenty of special positions in the team, taking up a solid half of it.
The set comes with two White Lion Blitzers who come armed with Claws for opening up a cage and breaking down defensive lines. Two Phoenix Warrior throwers then take on the role of hoofing the ball up the field with the aid of Secure Pass and Cloud Burster. Last but not least, you have the swaggering Dragon Princes who, armed with Block and Steady Footing, are going to be the ones landing your touchdowns.
I love that in the rules for the Dragon Princes, they are so full of self-importance that they refuse to pass the ball to others. Classically Elven.
The rest of the team is made up of High Elf Linemen, themselves incredibly agile and well-armoured in equal measure. That makes the High Elves and expensive team, so watch they don't get their heads caved in!

This team is coming fairly soon, so keep an eye out for them. I'm not sure what I make of the miniatures myself. I like the Linemen but the special positions just don't do it for me. I feel like they might be a little bit goofy.

The team set also comes with two turn and re-roll markers, two double-sided Blood Bowl coins plus two Dragonling and Shimmerstone balls. A nice touch for those looking to personalise and show off their teams on the tabletop.
Rules will be included for the High Elves in Spike! Issue 21, which will cover background for the High Elves in addition to how they fit into your games.

Games Workshop will also be doing additional themed accessories for the High Elves, including a themed pitch and dugouts, plus a set of reference cards. Everything you'd need to play the High Elves on the tabletop.
What do you make of the new High Elves? Has it matched your expectations for them?

Not sure about the scale mail shorts…
I really like these, they perfectly capture that High Elves feel and I find it hard not to enjoy Bloodbowl, another great set.
I still prefer my 2nd and 3rd edition models.
The problem with Elves – and also Dwarfs – in general is that in lore, novels, movies and video games, 1 Elf ought to be able to easily take on 20-30 Orcs (for example) without breaking a sweat, but game designers can’t allow that because then no one would ever want to play Orcs, so Elves and Dwarfs have to be massively nerfed.
