Anybody get their Mythic Battles: Pantheon kickstarter yet? If so, what do you think?
yup very nice
got mine a week ago
http://www.beastsofwar.com/groups/painting/forum/topic/unexpected-delivery/
Got mine on Thursday, none of the big expansions or the storage box. But there is a note that it will follow later.
Everything looks nice, I am missing one activation card for Hector, I have three but he is marked with four. So check your boxes if nothing is missing.
Yep I received my core box last week and it is amazing! Now just waiting for all of my stretch goals from the God Pledge 🙂
You might have sold me on this Rome thing. I almost sold when Footsore said they would be doing a Lurkio figure
I don’t have time for this I’ve got 2mm Napoleonics to look at and buy. But I suppose as you asked nicely

Irregular do quite a lot of generic stuff that would fit any period
@lloyd there you go. Know your audience 🙂
I was the audience?. I’m sure there was bound to be at least one other person watching
Nah mate. Sure I was on camera this week. That accounts for the pair of us
wow that was fast 🙂
The Bladerunner stuff is excellent but could they gave done it just using foam?. I bet no one could build an inner city Rome table just out foam
Hint, hint, Lloyd!
Lloyd! JUST DO IT! Rebuild Rome and your fans (minions) will love you! ‘Emperor Lloyd’ has a certain, ring to it? ; )
Ah minions. Got to love them, especially Dave 🙂
Need to find my fart gun now.
It’s the Weekend! Time to watch this, run some errands then get ready for an afternoon/ evening of KD:M Lantern Years.
If you want to get the vibe for Twisted, check out their weird victorian terrain sets!
Great show, enjoyed the Battle foam segment
Absolutely sold on Gangs of Rome by the end of filming, damn you Gerry (@avernos) :p
It was great to actually have Battle Foam come visit and Jemma has a wealth of knowledge you’ll see in their upcoming videos.
Az
Ha Ha! Now you know how it feels for all of us when we are just innocently enjoying a Weekender and then suddenly BAM! BIFF! POW! all of our money is gone and we have new games on the way we didn’t even know we wanted ten minutes ago. 😉 🙂 😉
Thinking about Gangs of Rome I do like the idea on an aesthetic level of the mob being 2D while the main protagonists are in 3D
I’m thinking “standees” would make a good mob.
Gangs of Rome, sounds really promising.
@thisisazrael “I’ll put it away all nice and neatly ’cause I’m compulsive like that.” – Never knew I had a brother?! 😀
haha I mean if it’s not nice and neat it’ll get ruined! <3 Az
You mean Lloyd will nick and try and building something
Exactly ^^ I spent all my gaming budget this summer on proper storage for all my mini collections. Takes a bit of effort but so satisfying!
Happy weekend . Fantastit T-shirt Gerry @avernos whrere did you got it from?
It was a limited run I’m afraid mate. If it appears again though I will ping you a text
I was going to ask the same question. Love the T!
Great episode today guys. Gerry strikes again as he has me sold on Saga and now has me thinking about skulking the streets of Rome looking to shank someone at night in a crowded market so I can disappear into the mob.
The castle looks great with some nice touches in amongst the village models.
A conversion of bases to inserts you could put the trees into with a small wall built at the bases edge so they could be used in cobbled/built up areas would be good.
I’m an enabler 😉
PACK Mini looks epic for some of my skirmish warbands!
Pack Mini looks useful for carrying my Guildball teams.
Warlord games has some Early Imperial Roman Civilians and Slaves. Don’t forget the also got Pullo and Vorenus. And Sarissa has a Roman Villa. So ther is something commin up.
Sarissa have made 30 buildings for it, so far though only the collosseum and the exclusive shot of the one under construction have been shown. They’re holding off showing anymore so they can do a reveal of a full section of Rome. Warlord are distributing it, but they’re not making any of the miniatures for it, that’s courtesy of Steve and Paul sculpting for Footsore.
Lloyd, if you liked Space 1999, try UFO.
Funny thing about space 1999 and ufo is that when ufo was canceled space 1999 was born from what was left of that show that could be re-used.
Love my battle foam and the support is great
Good show guys. Gangs of Rome looks great
Great Show, looking forward to seeing Rome built. looks like 4ground might be planning some roman villa’s according at their Ancient & Classical section
I’ll do you a deal Thisisazrael, if you guys do a Gangs of Rome boot camp and you send me your 6 minis two weeks before the camp I will paint them for you and deliver them to the Bootcamp
can’t say fairer than that now 😉
Oh my word….. this seems legit to me @hazard 😀 Az
Please avoid a date clash with BonesCon 🙂
@lloyd always nice to see you 8n the driving seat of The Weekender and XLBS, your enthusiasmis hilariously infectious.
Gangs of Rome looks epic
love the fisty glueman avatar
@thudgutz – cheers.
Going to check out Battle foam for some Kingdom Death trays.
GoR feels like a real winner to me already! Conveniently it’s my birthday in January 😎
And it’s a round number as well so I expect the missus to be generous. I think I’ll be dropping a few hints by speaking Latin the rest of the day..and caking her Domina.. 😉
😀
You know what would be a great birthday gift Andy, being told there was a GoR bootcamp…
*turns and peers at BoW*
I need another period like I need another hole in my head. Ignoring that I would be all over a GoR bootcamp
GoR feels like a real winner to me already! Conveniently it’s my birthday in January 😎
And it’s a round number as well so I expect the missus to be generous. I think I’ll be dropping a few hints by speaking Latin the rest of the day..and calling her Domina.. 😉
Romans they go the house?
I’ve been watching the Gangs of Rome stuff with interest for the last few weeks, you’ve convinced me to take the plunge now. Seeing the couple of previews of the Sarrisa terrain didn’t hurt either.
That castle from GameMatEu looks pretty impressive too. Looking forward to hearing the latest Saga 2nd edition tomorrow.
guys try to 3d print some seige equipment from 3d printable scenary :). https://www.printablescenery.com/product-category/fantasy/seige-equipment/
@warzan‘s favourite toy had to be returned because it was banjaxed. Good plan though when he gets it back
Great weekender episode. Gangs of Rome sounds really interesting. And where did Gerry get that cool looking shirt?
it’s part of my ongoing campaign to never be spotted in the same shirt twice. Unfortunately it was a limited run, from other tees
Gangs of Rome indeed looks very tempting. If there’s any interest at my club, I’m absolutely in.
Reading some of the other comments here, I think the community unanimously agrees that Lloyd needs to build Rome. Might I add that it also needs to be filmed as a Hobby Lab.
For siege engines, get @warzan to check out printablescenery.com’s siege engines. Get that printer fired up.
The Batlefoam pack looks cool. Would be good for my Blood Bowl teams.
Great show guys and loving the enthusiasm for Gangs of Rome – might have to step away from all things Tank to toga around
btw the French tank is a St Chamond – probably the first and only hybrid tank that had electric motors to drive the tracks
Toga Toga Toga!
the mini battlefoam pack would be great to hold the handful of painted minis I own!
I’ve enclosed a fiver, mum’s the word 😉
The P.A.C.K mini from Battlefoam would be Perfect for my Guild Ball stuff, the minis, cards, tokens… i would like to get it
Awesome video guys! Hope to win the P.A.C.K. for my mordheim warband!!
REPLY
great show again – great interview with the lady from battle form
I’m in for a chance at the BattleFoam giveaway!
After a hard weeks work always glad to here good news from the weekender. Those wyrd minis look great. Not to fond of the pounder mech though it has a lot going on. Was really cool to hear from the UK Battle foam manager. Definately great quality bags I have one of their older bags and it has lasted me several years now.
so wet to reenact the gang sense form rome the TV show, good times
I have never been disappointed in any battlefoam product I have bought, I have 3 medium size for warhammer fantasy and 40k plus an infinity bag, a flames of war bag and the old style mini pack I use for mordheim.
The castle did not look right without the Dragon from JoA 🙂
I believe the PACK mini would work well with Star Wars Legion Core Set. Will look into it even if I do not win.
Every castle should have some sort of pet monster. The dragon from JoA would be the great.
PACK Mini would be great for my skirmish models
@lloyd what you need is a siege tower, or a few siege towers 😉
if he takes those I’m charging him points, but that’s a conversation for another day 😉
camo pattern
Battle Foam need to make a bag with Swedish M90 pattern 🙂
I’ll see your M90 pattern, and raise you a Dazzle Camouflage! 😀

GoR sounds awesome! Brilliant setting, and nice and easy to enter and grow. Hope it’s a huge success.
Just bought some WWX stuff and that Battlefoam would be ideal. Not too large to transport.
I really like Batlle Foam.
good stuff
Nice piece on “Gangs of Rome.” It got me to look up my copy of Ganesha Games “Song of Shadows and Dust,” described as “Miniature skirmish rules for urban violence and civil disruption in the ancient world.” Very much the same subject, although GoR sounds quite a bit more fleshed out. The cool concept of mobs in GoR are written up as Civilians in SSD, who react randomly. I did buy a few boxes of 20mm Roman citizens and some 1/72 print and fold Roman buildings but didn’t get much beyond that. So as I find out more about Gangs, it might make it to my shopping list.
Gangs of Rome sounds fun
Great show. Hoping for some more Core Space tomorrow!
I do need to look into some army storage – not sure I was aware Battle Foam had a UK depot. Will have to check it out.
Gangs of Rome (GOR?) is a pretty cool premise…I will keep an eye on this.
Any chance of some weekly gameplay stuff for miniature games?
I enjoy your themed weeks and campaigns but it almost seems to be a waste to have ALL that cool terrain and not have a few “regular” games on camera every week. my first vote would be some skirmish games that take advantage of all your awesome tables…TWD , Malifaux, Dark Age, and maybe a good fantasy skirmish game would fill a good part of the spectrum…even just seeing one of these game regularly played on BoW would be cool and get me to do more than pop in and browse the headlines.
When you were talking about swapping out 6 flyers for one I had a thought. When you buy the flyer tray you pull out and throw away 6 flyer shaped blocks of foam. Why has no one ever cut infantry trays in to those blocks so that when you want to take less flyers to the store you can put them back in and bring more infantry? I don’t see it costing any more to make. Theres no extra materials and the lasers are already doing their thing to the foam anyway.
Seeing that new mini case I can’t help but wonder: Do battlefoam do trays that hold a banana, a yoghurt, a sandwich, a bag of crisps, and a drink?
They would if that is the custom tray that you order….. 😉
Wooo! Gangs of Rome, I’ve been excited about this for months!
Gangs of Rome sounds amazing. I’ll have to keep an eye on this.
GOR seems to be yet another game GERRY will be responsible for getting my other half into.It seems that whatever this man suggests as even remotely historic @Caileendies wants to try.Oisin the dragon is coming on a treat by the way @avernos
in my defense it’s Andy Hobday’s fault for suckering me in. Glad to here Oisin is coming along, has she tried any drybrushing yet?
Can never have enough foam… 🙂
I totally agree about the tactile need to handle and inspect big or important purchases. When I finally decided to make the investment in my first Battlefoam purchase, I really missed that opportunity to check the bag out and assure myself of the quality. I’m really glad now that I did because it is the best mini carrying case I’ve ever had.
The best part is the ability to trade trays in and out of the bag. I don’t have to worry about juggling multiple cases between car and gaming venue. And I can just put trays I’m not using right now into the Banker Box for storage until I need those minis.
The P,A.C.K. Mini would be great for when I just needed a skirmish force instead of hauling around a full army bag.
I just got my Adepticon badge ordered. I’d gladly take a battlefoam bag with me, or even pick it up there! A quick note to anyone who hasn’t been to battlefoam’s site, they have a Black Friday sale each year. I pick up some loose trays that I keep lots of misc. minis in for D&D. I can’t recommend them enough.
@lloyd, if you like Space 1999, did you see Modelmaking Guru’s build of the 1/48 scale kit for the Eagle Transporter?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TfYk-pJHl0Q&list=PLT8l3DNUdcBC8aQo9rHPIVdoOq_R5A53y
great show. I really have to check out Gangs of Rome… I am sold!!
Happy weekend!
Gangs of Rome looks really cool but, already have to much games myself and having to build another set of terrain for this game is a no-no for me but, i’ll keep checking at this…
Battle Foam, i need to chekc it out more, to house my KoW armies and espacially, the magnarack 2 when it’s out.
See you guys tomorow
That P.A.C.K. mini would be great for my Frostgrave and Ghost Archipelago. And guild ball. And infinity.
Arghh noo GoR sounds great, and I was doing so well not buying a new game for a week :p
Another great show, even without the awesome shout out about our ks’er lol. Super happy! #jammiedancin
The Pack Mini look cool.
good, good, good. I know what id use the P.A.C.K. Mini for would be my Guild Ball team, another game i got into after seeing uses put on a week’s worth of content. Yes id already played with friends but after seeing it on TV thought in for a penny in for a pound and now have a Fishermen team, Started with the 3 man/ figure starter set, then got the 6 figure Pirate set, so now only need 2 more figures for the full Fisherman Guild and think,,,, that’s what i need for the Guild.. figures in the bottom two layers then dice and tokens and cards in the top…. have to look on their site to see if one is already there for the taken.
Great Show, but the most interesting was Gangs of Rome
Another great weekender gents. Gangs of Rome sounds interesting
Battlefoam looks great but sadly have been burned by them. Foam is too hard and damaged painted minis and was grossly overcharged for shipping and then ignored by all attempts to contact them to query it. It’s a shame because the packs themselves are great but sticking with KR.
Good show, thanks guys!
Cheers!
I’ve never used Battlefoam stuff. How does it compare to KR? Or Tablepot Tyrant?
Tabletop*
Dammit!
Those P.A.C.Ks look perfect for Blood Bowl teams and Necromunda gangs!
Love the battlefoam stuff. That min pack would be perfect for smaller games like Frostgrave and Saga.
I wasn’t aware Battlefoam had such a strong presence in the uk. Good to know.
The Fallout terrain/objectives is pretty nice.
P.A.C.K s looks just right for Infinity or maybe Blood and Plunder. Cool show guys.
Pack MINI would be great for bringing a Infinity team to a tourney
Oh gangs of Rome sounds incredible!
My Deadzone faction for Adepticon should fit in that pack mini amazingly!
There was a television show called Battle Castle which talked about various castle sieges. The siege of Conway castle was interesting. The Welsh attaches did not have siege weapons, but they did have a lot of ladders. The castle was a force multiplier. The defenders where few, but the attackers where many.
I would love to see Gerry @avernos and Lloyd @lloyd play The Great War!
I never thought something like Gangs of Rome would appeal to me but… seriously… gimme.
The P.A.C.K Mini won’t hold all my Kingdom Death figures, but it will easily hold all my painted ones 🙂
Late Roman Republic some political mob supporters used to carry a sharpened stylus for shanking opponents in the street…
I think it was Augustus who put praetorians on the near-empty city streets during the most popular Games – with everyone at the Games it was easy for robberies to occur and the soldiers could apprehend suspects carrying bags of loot.
Pliny the Elder describes how a giant Burmese python escaped a temple in Rome and was suspected of eating children and animals in one of the outer districts.
And the Emperor Claudius and his Praetorians fought an Orca Killer Whale in the harbour at Rome :-O
The Romans might have had a Polar Bear in the Games. I think the reference is in ‘Animals for Show and Pleasure in Ancient Rome’ and the animal is described as a ‘seal-eating bear’ so a proper artic beast and not an albino Paddington (?)
…and there was a pet fashion for Barbary apes in the city during the Roman Republic. Plautus suggests that robbers spotted on rooftops would try the excuse ‘I am looking for the Master’s escaped monkey’ 🙂
The Beards of War weekend show and then the lovely Gemma from BattleFoam comes on and shows the world that not all people in gaming are pallid and pasty faced, nor do they burst into flames if exposed to the sun. The Mini-Pack looks awesome for a Arena Rex gang as does that
coliseum.
Great show, the castle set looks amazing!
Gangs of Rome sounds amazing. Really lookong forward to how this one turns out.
Oh my word Gangs of Rome sounds fantastic…. Loving the idea of the campaign.
Can’t wait for Gangs of Rome….in prep I’m writing a series of articles for Irregular Magazine, which give some historical background to the period. On my blog there is already several articles on the Roman period, https://musketswordpaint.wordpress.com.
I recently went on holiday to Rome and that got me really excited for this game. I managed to visit the Palantine and the Colessium.
There were also gangs that followed the chariot teams, who use to fight each other very similar to modern day football hooligans.
Pack MINI would be great for KoW vanguard.
Battle foam gets better and better every year. I like the way they partner with companies to provide perfect products to support all types of gamers.
Gangs of Rome sounds very cool… the character designer is a super sweet idea! And now I have to go check out the Battlefoam page and play around with options for games like Test of Honor and Bushido + all my Guild Ball and Infinity stuff!!!
Love the pack mini got one of the originals and it is awesome
Awesome show people! Like Allways. I like the gangs of Rome and the PACK mini… so useful!
Gangs of Rome looks super interesting. Would probably not have bothered looking into it if it wasn’t for you guys. Thanks for bringing that to my attention lads!
I have a Battlefoam ammo box bag, it’s amazing! Love the interchangeable foam treys. The mini looks like it would be super useful for smaller games. Gonna need to head to the web site and check it out. My wallet feels lighter already!
That Battlefoam Pack MINI would be sweet for my prized Necromunda Redemptionist gang!
Gangs of Rome looks awesone
Timing for the Battlefoam P.A.C.K. Mini is perfect with Necromunda coming out. And now with Gangs of Rome which I’d not even heard about until today. My wallet is screaming in terror…
P.A.C.K. Mini looks like just what I’m looking for to carry Skirmish Sangin modern combat minis.
Lots of room but I don’t have to haul around a suitcase to to get it.
Gerry, get some professional help clipping those british bayonets. Then they need painting, (not the sprues).
Count me in for the prizes
Gangs of Rome sounds amazing, It also reminds me of an article I read concerning the gang warfare in Byzantium where different factions formed initially to support their favourite chariot teams at the Circus and adopted certain colours. They then evolved into political groups, fighting and rioting in the streets until only two remained, the Blues and the Greens.
That also occurred in Rome I believe. I remember it being talked about in a lecture on crime in Rome.
Aye, look up the Nika Riots. They even have records of the chants 🙂
That battle foam would be perfect for my blood bowl teams!
Always fun when Lloyd gets excited about Terrain.
I agree with his characterisation of Space 1999 as
“the thinking man’s Star Trek” – at least, it seemed
to be all very “grown-up”, scientific and serious to
me when it was first on TV (but then I was 8-years
old at the time…)
It was nice to see Battlefoam presented with understated
British charm – even though the US Team are also always
fun to watch too.
How about a Special Edition in British Army “Berlin-pattern”
Camouflage:
https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Berlin_camouflage
…Or how about some Chinese Digital “Minecraft” Camouflage:
http://www.bbc.com/autos/story/20160324-the-story-behind-chinas-minecraft-military-camo
I definitely need more protective cases. Fed up with broken models.
Happy weekender .
It seems like have to give in to @avernos , you guys should do a Gangs of Rome Bootcamp. It sounds awesome.
it’ll make you happy 🙂
The Twisted models look very interesting.
a great show guys @lloyd we all know Terrorhawks? was the thinking mans Syfi show.
Agreed!
I like the look of Gangs of Rome. Love the mob concept
@avernos you should carry a wallet advisory warning, make gangs of rome sound amazing
hey, I’m a victim here too!
Great show!! We know that when Lloyd and Gerry are on the show things will get interesting 🙂
thanks, it’s the unmistakable chemistry that exists between us. That and the fact we don’t shut up ever.
🙂
Got my Twisted kickstarter stuff recently. It is beautiful.
Narrative driven scenarios. Two initial gangs are Dickensian, inspired by Charles dickens’ characters. And Servants of the Machine, the AI which controls the planet and manipulates everything else.
I could add such lovely stuff into that pack mini. It would be perfect to transport one monster and four survivors in Kingdom Death. Probably fit inside the box as well. Speaking of Kingdom Death, I wish they had more options for Kingdom Death. I dont own some of the expansion they have in the bundle and therefore feel like I’m wasting money purchasing that.
The are a number of companies that make Romansh terrain. Sarisssa has some mdf roman building, Warbases.co.uk has some mdf Roman building and city walls, Manorhouse Workshop has some Roman villas, Kobblestone Miniatures has a resin roman fort
More than just saying that I’m in, I’ve just subscribed to their mailing list over on the GoR website. 🙂
https://gangsofrome.com/apps/coming-soon
I kept throwing money at the screen, but it wasn’t working. Now I’ll know when the time is right. And it’s so much tidier than reading entrails…..
Cool pack! Would fit my Butcher Guild team inside nicely!
that gangs of rome sound really good. not normally into historic.
Goes to Battlefoam, finds foam for Magnus and a Lord of Change. Looks at shipping, closes laptop and walks away.
Seriously, for a laugh go look at shipping for the Lord of Change foam tray.
So @lloyd is confusing me a bit this week. All this Saga talk with armies, castles, new editions and even cows, but not one mention of a single train. I know it isn’t easy to get them on the table at the same time but come on Lloyd we have expectations.
There was actually a 10 min talk but it looks like someone edited it out.
Great show! Love hearing Lloyd and Gerry getting historical!
I am a big supporter of Battlefoam bags. They are the best quality out there. I have several bags and especially love the molle system on the newer bags!
I wonder how many 3mm gigs I could fit in the pack mini…
all of them?
The MDF Endor terrain is pretty amazing stuff.
Gangs of Rome seems quite interesting. I would really like to see some game-play videos.
Fab show, really the battle foam information
That Mirelurk Queen looks awesome!
That Star Wars terrain is astounding!
I loved this 🙂
I think we need a Star wars Legion Bag!!!!
One with an Empire symbol and another one with the Rebel symbol.
I’ve pre ordered the game, but will need to get a bag. Don’t have any custom trays for any of my game systems. I guess I’ll have to try that out!!!
I do have a sword bag and I like it!
I love Weekenders like this!
I love my battle foam bags and trays. P.A.C.K. Mini’s are perfect for keeping the figures for each faction in a multiplayer convention game separated. I just hand each player the PACK and all they need is inside.
I’m really liking the idea of GoR. The scenario potential is really intriguing.
The battle foam P.A.C.K. Mini bag looks great for my Infinity stuff. All my existing foam is more mass storage so not so good when transporting just for a game.
Gimme a battlefoam bag please!
Currently I have to wedge all of my miniatures into a pint glass which I carry balanced on my head.
I’ve always felt this was not the ideal solution.
Great looking ka, i need soon a foamfor shadespire and other recent releases.
Gangs of Rome, oh my giddy aunt yes, I am so looking forward to than.
Gangs of Rome looks very tempting! Must resist …
Another great weekender. Not a huge fan of historical stuff normally, but some of the game concepts in Gangs of Rome sound pretty cool.
Gangs of Rome sounds really interesting, but I already have too many games competing for attention.
I honestly didn’t know battlefoam lets you design your own tray.
