First! Carnevale was one I’ve looked at a few times. I’m really regreting missing out on the Kickstarter but it is great to see TTCombat follow up on all that they promised for the game when they took it on. Everyone talks about the terrain as a barrier to entry but I see it as one of the main selling points and probably the key difference between it and many other skirmish level games. I’m saving up for a full 6×8 foot table full of Venice.
My finger has hovered over the Carnevale ‘Checkout’ or ‘Pledge’ button so many times over the years, but something has always held me back; often my diminished pastime budget at the time or a feeling of insecurity for the future of the game.
Maybe now IS that time. It’s future looks secure, it’s moved to non-metal, it’ll get retail support thanks to the starter set -which also breaks down that hurdle of initial investment to get a playable game that you can incrementally invest in over time. Thanks TTCombat, that’s another shelf/bag etc to find space for! I think I’ve just written my Christmas list (having been relatively restrained for most of 2018).
Happy 250th episode!
Great accomplishment. Here’s to another 250 episodes.
Great Show
I see you know your Latin @warzan . Anniversary does indeed have come from the Latin Annus which means year.
So every Birthday you become one Annus greater than you were last birthday.
Looks like I have to go out and pick up Carnevale.
Carnevale looks like a lot of fun! I really like the look of the patricians.
It’s the Weekend!!
I’m sure there’s been way more than 250 weekends since I first subscribed so even allowing for excusable events such as bootcamps and conferences I’m surprised it’s only 250 Weekenders. Still, who’d have thought? GRATZ!
Shows what you can achieve when you constantly innovate, tweak, fiddle with yourselves*, invest energy (drinks mostly) and fail-fast… and sometimes you have failed very fast. Revel in that and keep failing; it proves you’re still trying and not taking yourselves or us for granted!
* only you know what’s going on UnderTheTabletop(tm) during filming 😉 Mostly Lieut. @warzan and his lowly privates… 😉 😉
Did I just come up inadvertently with a good title for a new series of behind the scenes/meta content?
Happy Weekend!!!
So this is how you comment here…. Exquisite! Also, Carnevale looks really intresting, I want to know more about it. PD: Hobbit armies from TTCombat are helarious. I’m intrigued about their playing mechanics.
Welcome to the community! Won’t be long before you’re setting your alarm early to try and get first post 😉
Did Sam teach 4 and 5 year olds because it’s been proven that children respond better and tend to take in what there told when the teacher and pupil are at similar eye level?
Maybe that’s why he went to teach in Japan. ?
Carnevale looks interesting, a new game to me
Happy Weekend… just sitting here with my Carnevale KS Pledge and building my Patrician Gang
For Battle Ravens I think I posted before but some of the guys here played (I couldn’t make it ?) a review copy of it a few weeks ago and said it was a fantastic game. Highly recommended but anything by Dan Mersey usually is
Wow, so proud of you guys for achieving 250 episodes and the opening the visitor’s centre! As a longtime BoW member and backstager it’s been a true pleasure of watching you guys grow the company and community and keep doing amazing things! If only I had a bit more time to watch all the amazing content!
Peter Denis also does some wonderful paper armies for differing periods and look wonderful
Just search paperboys page on Facebook
Or vist

There will be lot more being released soon
Looking forward to play some games of Carnevale
Super awesome video, keep them going, oh yes yes – its that time – the weekender has landed – good morning all from here on the south coast UK, Brighton :-)
Wow never really looked at Carnevale before .. looks like an amazing game ..
Everyone looks so clean shaven! Did you guys get a sample pack of razors in the post or something? 😉
Probably washed, scrubbed and scraped themselves up to greet the local dignitaries at their opening…
I had a mini introduction to Carnevale by Jason at Crisis. The models looked great in the meat world. After seeing this episode, I regret not picking it up at Crisis.
The Carnevale starter looks nice
Carnevale looks great.
TT Combat are knocking it out of the park with Carnevale.
I’m not seeing the Ramparts Terrain winner on the prize page? Not that it’s me but it’s always fun to see who wins!
Me either. On both fronts.
I was thinking of getting some of the Venice scenery to make a Naboo table for Star wars legion
Carnevale looks very interesting. Love the look of the Guild leader!
Also… weekend means Weekender Time!
I have really been looking forward to the ” new ” Carnevale – discovered this game a couple of years back, and have been waiting for this relaunch – Great show
Wow so glad Carnevale is back! Really thought the rules and setting were quite good in first edition and looking forward to it getting more support from TTCombat.
I was really sad when I heard the news about Vesperon Games and equally pleased when I heard Carnevale had been picked up by TT combat; I absolutely love the aesthetic of the game and TT combat have made some beautiful new models.
I love Venice as a place, I think it’s probably my favourite city in the world. and it really suits the game. If you haven’t been you really need to add it to your bucket list because there’s simply nowhere else like it on Earth. And so much of it is the original medieval and Renaissance architecture. It’s like walking through the set of Assassin’s Creed or the artwork from the Carnevale game. It looks almost the same now as it did a couple of hundred years ago.
I really wish I could afford to get into it at the moment because building a Venice gaming Table would be an absolutely amazing project. One for the future I suppose. I think for now I will just content myself with a few miniatures here and there, they work perfectly for RPG characters if nothing else.
Definitely interested in Carnevale.
Happy Weekend! 🙂
Great to see Carnevale is back 🙂
Ben looks pimpin’ in that bathrobe 🙂 Get better man 🙂
i had so much fun watching the reichbusters lets play – and i am all in of course
thx for another great saturday morning entertainment – and see you tomorow at xlbs
Great achievement with your 250th Show!!!
I’ve always been drawn towards Carnivale, and I love the look (and price!) of that starter box. I’ll have to see if my LFGS can get hold of TTcombat products and see if local players might be interested.
I have a couple of the old Carnivale miniatures, they are awesome, and the Patricians are my choice of faction
I was interested in Carnevale the first time around ,but was put off by plast-craft terrain that was made for it. the a lot of the roofs were at angle making them precarious to put models on. I wash i had kept all my old models to try out this version of the carnevale.
Carnevale has always looked awesome, pleased to see it back.
Congratulations of the 250th Weekender, and a great one it was too.
I backed the Carnevalé KS and it arrived on my birthday a few weeks back which was pretty much the best present I could have asked for! Everything in it is fantastic quality – if you’re on teh face about picking up a starter set I’d say go for it. Everything in the box is great. I still neeed to build/paint/play with it all, of course, but its nice knowing its sat there! Looking forward to more Vatican stuff from TTCombat!
Warren’s corpsing made me watch “The Chase Fanny Chmeler” again. Google it (and it’s SFW despite what you’d think).
very fun stuff!
Happy saturday all. Thanks for a great weekender.
Also! Congratulations on the 250th episode AND the visiting center. I wanna come by and play some Carnevale with @dracs (on that note, I’m opting out of the chance to win the two player set – I went all in on the Kickstarter with my Prince of Thieves pledge, so it would be wasted on me).
Can I just make a shout out for TT Combat here. The Carnevale kickstarter was so well done, their updates have been fantastic and frequent, and their customer service amazing <3 This company definitely deserves all the praise they can get. Thank you TT! From the bottom of my heart. For picking up Carnevale and running with it, like absolute champions.
And then came Reichbusters! I just can't have any money!!! (all in there as well, cause how could I not!). But man, I can't wait for that game to get into my greedy little hands. It's gonna be so tough figuring out whether to start painting immediately (the minies look gorgeous!) or get a game on the table instantly. I wonder if I can paint and play at the same time. Now there's an olympic sport 😀 Thank you Mythic Games. For keeping me slim 😀 <3
Edit! How could I forget :s Get well soon @brennon We need our news guy fresh and fired up with more things to throw our money at 🙂
Just read up a few articles about Private Major, the man was incredibly insanely heroic, not only did he fight in WW2 but he also fought in the Korean War, where he was awarded his 2nd DCM.
The Carnevale starter set looks like really good value. It’s a game that’s intrigued me for a while, this new starter set may just push me into getting it.
I am commenting as I would love to win a Carnevale starter set. Very close to uying this month but I had the Deep Madness $110.00 pledge come out this month along with Black Fortress so unfortunately could not afford Carnevale.
Loved the show particularly when Warren looses it.
Nah @warzan , Sam’s too adorable to be dangerous; besides, who’s ever heard of a dangerous hobbit? ?
Keyforge: conspiracy theory time – taking Warren’s doubts about its success into account, maybe these risqué names are a publicity stunt to drive up interest; just see how quickly Warren turned around on the game when he found out about them. ?
By the time they started talking about Legion, anyone else wondering if they were pumping helium into the studio via Warren’s mic? ?
Carnevale: is one of the patricians named Vetenari by any chance? ?
“Two player starter set bigger than our heads” – you could cut out the masks on the front of the box and use them as masks for a masquerade while playing the game. ?
If anything the king for a day says goes, could he use that to make his term indefinite and thus avoid a beating? ?
I got my hands on Mythic battles Penthen recently and its left me qith a question about games like that and Reich busters. If you just back the core pledge but then get heavily in to the game, how do you get the expansions? Are you dependant on the deciding to go back to KS later? Can you order from Mythic, even if you have to wait for enough orders before they go back to print? RRight now i’m thinking eBay is your only way once the initial KS is over, which is a shame. Means you need to go all in or not bother.
@lawnor
The items which aren’t Kickstarter Exclusive we intend on making available in retail. That’s not definite as it depends on there being distributors and retailers willing to carry the range. The items which are KSE won’t ever enter retail distribution but we may sell the copies leftover after fulfilment at conventions and/or direct.
I probably should clarify that I’m talking about Reichbusters there 🙂
Thats good to hear. Sadly, with christmas upon us now is not a time when I can afford this. Plus with MB:P freshly arrived and begging to be painted I shouldn’t go buying another big box of minis. It is very tempting otherwise.
We’ll be running a pledge manager in January which will likely last for two months. Everything that’s in the KS will be available there as well. The only difference will the $20 all-in discount won’t be available.
A cool looking game I’ve always wanted to try. Thanks for another great show guys.
Happy Saturday. Carnevale looks interesting from the game system to me.
I’ve been able to resist (barely) backing the kickstarter for Carnevale (I already have too many games), but this games is very tempting.
ONG i’ve been wanting to get into carnivale since the first time beasts of war introduced them, it’s a very cool and dynamic game.. I WANT.. 😉
The Carnevale setting and backstory have loads of appeal. The dense terrain looks like a blast to play on. And where else can you ride in a gondola? Will have to practice my Italian boating songs for this one. The only worry are the Rashaar giving me nightmares about the trout I’ve caught over the years.
Time sure flies. Looks like I won’t finish my Hrud in time for the Space Hulk contest. But there are so many better projects, it’s great to see them all.
Congratulations on the new store and your 250th Weekender!
IMHO, if you are going to have a skirmish game these days and you are competing with many other games, you need an all-in-one-box-ready-to-play experience. If the Carnevale Starter Set gets you going in at a reasonable cost and streamlined rules, it can take off. At least in my area, that is what I have seen. I know a lot of war gamers even some I will be playing with later today who will not even bother with Frostgrave because you have start with the book and piece it together yourself. In my are Star Wars Legion is doing great because you get a starter set and go. The rules are also easy to get started. Let us hope TTCombat has figured this out.
I’m really liking the look of the Doctor faction
I’m also really, really looking forward to seeing what TTC do with Relics
Rumbleslam isn’t my thing, but i know there are several who love it, and they’ve done a fantastic job with Carnevalé, so I have very high hopes for their launch of Relics! So much so that I may start saving for the inevitable Kickstarter once Christmas is out of the way!
These Carnevale miniatures look multiuse, usable in necromunda and inq28 if you get creative. Wow.
Brilliant weekend Guy’s love warzans wee meltdown the figures and doors for Reich busters look great, carnevale sound’s like turning into a brilliant game.
I backed big in the first Carnevale Kickstarter, tried to stay out of this last KS just because I didn’t need to spend the money, and ended up backing big again!
It’s an amazing setting in any edition and just keeps drawing me in!
=)
Carnevale looks fascinating. ‘Don’t Look Now’ is one of my favourite horror films, so being able to fight across Venice would be amazing.
The three factions I am most interested in are the Rashaar, the Doctors, and the Strigoi.
The Deep Ones of the Rashaar are my choice for Carnivale.
Great show as always gang!
I backed the Carnevale kickstarter but got the Doctors faction box and expansions…2 player starter set looks good though!
I will be looking forward to Carnevale Let’s Play. Perfect setting and skirmish level game, so very excited
Carnevale seems to be doing two player starter sets right: full rules, terrain, tiles for starting and once you get your own terrain. Love the direction!
Seen Carnevale before but the new starter box looks awesome
Lovely looking minis
My partner and I have been wanting to get into Carnevale for a while, and that starter set looks great, not too bad a price either.
Also congrats on 250 fantastic weekender episodes!
Carnevale always looked like a great game. And I’m glad to see TTCombat taking over. Love their terrain. And they seem to be doing great with minis now too.
I do need an excuse to try out Carnevale…
So close to jumping in on Carnevale both before and during the KS. Now it’s finally here I may finally get involved. Anything with a Landshark has to be cool right!
Terminators are always better than primaris, but then I think primaris is a load of garbage…. I could go on a massive rant on why I hate the primaris so, but then I’d be better off writing a book instead. ?
Congrats on the 50’th year since your episode 200. Wow I am old 😀
Carnevale’s two-player starter looks great. I also love the tiles they are using to form the canals and cityscape for the game. Still need to buy rumbleslam.
Carnevale looks like fun
Looks great – really excited for the launch of Carnevale. Setting is unique and full of opportunity for exciting interactions. Can’t wait for the let’s play to see it in action!
Latest P. C. Corpo speak: yes you heard it here first “Generator of water cooler moments” and is is all the responsibility of warren.
en garde
I was really into Carnevale right before they did their first Kickstarter, love the setting and the rules (back then) were pretty nice, interested in seeing how they’ve changed.
The hype for reichbusters is unreal right now I hope it carries over till next November!
I’m surprised it’s only 250′ but happy anniversary
Carnevale nice game looking forward to a unboxing, and let’s play – and I also would like to paint the figures they looks amazing.
So many great looking games coming out, Carnevale definitely stands out!
Guild for the win, and on Fridays; its fish and chips.
Carnevale and Reich Busters… What exciting times we live in! (And I mean that in a positive way ;))
Cheers!
Yeah yeah … Carnevale is all very well, but I want to know what TT Combat are doing with the best game in their ownership Dropzone Commander.
Guys, thanks for the show. I hope Battle Ravens kickstarter makes it. I have this idea of a miniatures project to replace the paper figures. Please do the Lets Play; I’d like to see more on how the mechanics work on the Battle Raves game.
Just received my Kiskstarter pledge for Carnevale. It is a great value. The rulebook is wonderful.
great show. I watched the lets play of reich busters, and know have no money for food(thanks).
Carnevale looks epic.
I’m so looking forward to getting back into Carnevale again. I convinced a few friends to back the kickstarter by running a few games with the old rules. I got my new rule book a few days ago along with some of the new sculpts both of which I’m made up with. I wish I had pledged more.
TT Combat war game terrain is my go to MDF terrain.
Carnevale had some of the best fluff around
Carnevale looks like a fun game
carnevale looks interesting. The variety of miniatures for an historic setting skirmish game look great.
How disappointing it must be to get a boring Keyforge deck…
My luck I’d get one, so I’ll abstain.
Carnevale looks damn goooood!!
The Carnevale looks great. I like the visual of the game and the excellent terrain. Also it seems like having very nice game rules, as I love narrative gaming. So I am in 😀
So much action packed into one episode. And that was just Warren losing it.
Legions is looking better and better.
Carnavale and TTCombat looks like a match made in heaven. I’ve asked the Spellforge AI what it thinks and it says
‘Circus of blissful juxtaposition confrontation’.
Fishmen for the win.
Congratulations on 250(ish) episodes. Come a long way since On The Table.
great show. Agree that the reichbusters let’s play was awesome;it made me a gung ho backer.
Carnivals interesting background. I think k the let’s play will be the make it break for me.
Love the new star wars…that means shoretroopers are on the way.
Love the Carnevale rule book, i’m reading it now (but another to use as a present would be welcome too),
Reichbusters looks mighty fine, but sadly i’m not in a position to play on KS any more this year, sigh,
Carnevale is very interesting lots of options in game play.
Definitely love the terrain from TTCombat and the idea behind Carnivale sounds great… those fish-folk look amazing!! I may just pick those up to paint!!!
I have been looking forward to the return of Caravale. I love the new 2 player starter set, so much stuff, complete book, all the terrain. So good.
Don’t mind me… please step aside… I’ll just take this *grabs Carnevale Two-Player Starter Set*.. bye…. *runs off*
250 episodes….. it not been that many….. COOL congrats heres to the next 250!
Italy is one of my favourite countries, with stunning scenery, history and architecture. Venice is just a wonderful place to visit but more importantly, an awesome setting for a game. The tight, narrow canals and alleys linked to the open piazzas really lend themselves to a very cinematic game. Carnevale certainly hits the right notes and one I will be looking into.
Carnivals looks spiffing!!
Gutted I had to cancel my Kickstarter for Carnevale, looks like an awesome game.
I always loved the style of Carnevale! It looks like it can be played on a fairly small table making the terrain making more doable. Good luck to TTCombat.
Carnevalle looks like a really nice game, seems to have a good mechanics and nice minis
I would play Carnevale at any time, if I had even one of my friends who would even consider picking it up.
Looking forward to play some games of Carnevale.
Glad to see this game picked back up– and seemingly improved!
Venice does look tempting.
I have to restrain myself, as I still have to finish building all those lovely space ships and Dropzone buildings they tempted me with just a short while ago.
TTcombat a really taking the game on – well done
Really looking forward to this new edition of Carnevale and some of the darker turns the world has taken. I think the Doctors would be the faction I would most want to play.
Carnevale looks so cool. TTcombat is a great company, love there product.
Happy Tuesday!
Again late to the party but, it was a good show.
The Carnavale table during the interview looked awesome and it will be fun to see the Let’s Play vids.
Oh, Congrats on making it to 250 shows!
I’m so glad to see other games being focused on here! Carnivals looks great in its new home!
I have always enjoyed all the content for Carnevale. This includes when Vesper-on had it. Glad to see it back.
the Star Wars rebel elite tro.ops look pretty cool. Might pick up some myself
In Carnivale I’d play The Vatican.
I like the “simple” system for Carnevale, and even amongst the ever crowded skirmish games, has a really strong art style and setting.
I never was very interested in card games, until now. Key Forge looks great, and I guess I can just chuck away the non-funny cards.
So glad to see another great game from TTCombat. I had just purchased my first minis from Vesper-on Games just before they sold it so I am very glad it is finally back.
Carnevale is great. Had a couple of games during the week.
The Carnevale mdf terrain is really amazing. Good show guys!
Congratulations on opening the visitors’ centre! Those tokens for Key Forge look fantastic, and I love the idea behind the unique ones, very fitting to the game.
Carnevale looks great, hope we see some more videos of gameplay for the different factions soon.
