FÖRST!
what the hell is tinder..
isn’t it the beginnings of a fire that you use to eliminate limited edition models to make them even moar limited
Sounds reasonable..
Luke needs his own SW spin off 🙂
Scalpers are already selling that LE Luke for $75 on eBay.
Yup – does suck unfortunately
got mine for free at my local gaming store as I get all my flames of war and star wars legion stuff from there. FFG gave them for free to stores to do what they wish; give as prizes; give as inducements to sell; sell if they wanted. really comes down to each store. I bought a rebel hoth force to go with Luke
this luke is just like luke in the core set so it’s just a different sculpt…nothing more. I just got him with rebels since I don’t play clones or droids so wanted to help out my store.
My ‘friendly’ local game store is scalping it for £45…with the excuse that other people are selling it for £50.
Suffice to say I won’t be spending any more money with them.
Happy Weekender everyone. Very much looking forward to the colonial marine supplement and will dipping my toes into ultracast with those lovely looking 20mm tommies. Great to see yet another cracking release by the Warcradel Team, packed to the brim with character I’ve come to love. Really looking forward to future Lost World Exodus and of course I’m saving my pennies for the Dystopian wars launch. If anyone fancies a good bit of tele watching i recommend the Good Lord Bird on sky Atlantic which is a quirky take on John Browns crusade to end slavery. Really enjoying it.
colonial MARINES….all the way.
They are useless speed bumps but so cool been a fan since I first sneaked a watch of aliens while getting babysat by cousins. Have the new alien board game on order with the ultimate badass box and I highly recommend the Free League RPG.
btw: Geld is the German word for money. 😉
it’s also Dutch for the same …
I wouldn’t be surprised if they shared the same source.
But it’s pronounced with this guttural sound English speaking people have such a hard time with (If I’m remembering correctly) XD Always cracks me up.
I think the guttural sound is the one used by folks that are as we say ‘above the rivers’ (ie Holland, Utrecht) …
For me the ‘g’ is very soft, which is typical for southern parts (Limburg and Brabant).
Either way it’s something that will trip up any non-native Dutch speaker.
IIRC they used words like ‘Scheveningen’ to detect (German) spies back in WW2 …
I’m from Scotland and live in the Netherlands. ‘G’ sounds in words are the bane of my existence.
We need a soundsample now XD
I did know that surprisingly heh
Poor Dak
Great to see Little Wars TV releasing some free rules to help promote historical wargaming. I’m looking forward to seeing the additional stuff like more scenarios, myhtic rules and terrain tutorials they’re planning appearing on the Ravensfeast website.
I was wavering about picking up some of Drabant Vikings featured a couple of weeks ago, and the release of Ravensfeast has just about tipped the balance.
Well worth picking up a nifty handful of miniatures for a new game of course.
just found my box of hi victrix’s Vikings. now have a rule set to go with them.
Happy Friday all!
I do agree with one of the previous comments Luke needs redemption in his own TV series.
Yay its the weekend, those rule from little wars look interesting I might give them a go.
Nice prize
Win this comp. And Christmas ? gift sorted.
Done. The philatelist society of Uzbekistan on ICQ said they would come and support OTT as soon as they have finished Zork
Love the Cat Knights.
Well done Little Wars TV. I think other periods will be coming
It will be fun to see what else they do!
Nice luke mini. Shame that its very hard to get any new legion stuff. sold out everywhere
its weekender time.
Ooh the tribe of Averos.
Goodonyers. I bloody love Frostgrave. Looking forward to that one.
I wants stuff … not sure what, but I wants it ‘cuz it is free.
there …
good enough ?
At the rate FFG is selling their Legion stuff everything is ‘limited edition’ already.
Not sure how superduper ultra rare this Luke thing will be … 😉
the head of the new marine would be better on a chaplain?
Nice job guys. I think some content with you guys going through your collections (books or otherwise) would be pretty cool. Always interesting to see what others have collected over the years.
I’ve been picking up Frostgrave books since it first came out and have 2nd edition waiting to be played.
Picked up a Wizards kit that I have yet to build and also bought the GW Ranger of Middle Earth box which has 24 rangers that I plan to use to build a war band, perhaps with some Pelennor Field Rohirrim.
Could use some of Carnevale minis for some of the more esoteric minis, or even some of the Daughters of Khaine… Hag Queen would make a cool looking wizard.
So long as everything is same base size it doesn’t really matter what you use for Frostgrave.
Yep you can use whatever miniatures you like to get going in Frostgrave. One of its strengths.
bam
I like the Luke Skywalker without the helmet!
The weekend starts now.
Luke Skywalker love it.
Now watch the rest of the weekends and paint my 15 mm printed Forest Dragon undead army.
Nice way to spend your time for sure!
Wow the cat knights look brilliant.
loved the show
Almost forgot… It’s the Weekend!!
A whole unit of Rebel pilots would look very cool!
Great video as usual. Just watched the LWTV video on Ravenfeast. Although it’s too simple for my tastes, it will be a great introduction to wargaming for my kids. The Luke Skywalker would be amazing to win as I can’t seem to get ahold of one. I’ve got a scale AT-AT display all set up for my Legion gameboard complete with downed SnowSpeeder – all I need is the Luke. So, if I win it, I’ll share photos of the finished board here.
I’ll be trying Ravenfeast this Christmas. Finishing my game room and will look at trying this out.
A nice mix and balance of material in the show today guys.
You should give that Luke Skywalker to me, because I’m not only a huge Star Wars fan, but I also paint Star Wars minis to a high display standard, as exemplified in my project on your site. That being said, I propably will never get this mini, because it is a limited one, and it therefore will propably never get painted by me. That’s why making minis limited is stupid and counterproductive to the spirit of our hobby: I either have to journey to and attend a specific event, which might be expensive, or I will have to pay an inflated price for it to some antisocial scalper-arsehole, which I will never do.
Cool Luke mini.
Dabbled into Saga and are going to give Ravenfeast a go. I have a couple of newbies who find Saga a steep learning curve. I think Ravenfeast is just the rules we were looking for a quick and easy game to play. Playing quick, fast and easy rules is just the thing for newbies to have fun. To have fun is essential to keep the newbies to come back for more. Did the same for flames of war in the beginning. No formations, four players(2 on a side) each with 2 to 3 tanks(balanced to abilities: armour and firepower) and a lot of terrain to play cat and mouse. Love your show and do not miss your uploads on youtube.
Cheers for the Weekender! And, thanks for being the ambassadors of Wargaming.
I love the show fellas and cats for the win, lol
If your Frostgrave week involves talking to Joe, please do an interview asking him about Stargrave.
We are talking with Joe but we’ll most likely bring in more thoughts on Stargrave and such in the new year
Great show
Weekender time lads! Also does Luke not drag the body out? Or does he leave him inside and steal his lightsabre because he’s a horrible materialistic teen?
Awesome Weekender this week guys! Loving the Moonstone spotlight and the Goblin Kickstarter. It’s just gonna make this month a whole lot more costlier than it already was!
Skywalker, where have i heard that name before?
Love me some Frostgrave! Great show as ever, have a terrific weekend guys!
New Luke model makes we want to break out some Legion this weekend. I haven’t played in awhile, would be fun.
Great stuff!
Another awesome Weekender Guy’s! The Ravenfeast rules look to something interesting to get others involved into historical games. Frostgrave oh yeah good stuff happening there! The newest addition to Battlegroup is great if your into 20mm scale. Large armored cats in kickstarter hmmmmm
Downloaded the Viking ruleset definitely going to be trying that one out.
Cheers for bringing it to my attention.
I had to really condense down my book collection in my study for model space.
Just kept some favourites and signed ones
They need to make cats in space marine armor. Call it Space Meowinre.
Woo Weekender!! Free game. Why thank you.
Oh yeah also, can I put a shout out an MTV Cribs style section where you show off you hobby space. Lloyds fascinates me!
We’d be there for the full run of the show going through Lloyd’s collection but I reckon it could actually be pretty fun haha
Awesome show as usual guys, keep up the good work!!
Like the look of the Viking game
another good show. hope that a holiday schedule is released so we can plan our holidays without missing new content.
The plan (at the moment) is at least one video each day of the week of the 21st through to the 26th so you’ll have something fun to watch!
Ravenfeast will make an interesting read.
I would also like to say that the Moonstone guys have recently changed resin caster and they are now producing amazing models, they are going through the back catalogue too and updating them with the new resin.
Other than the Conquest resin, i think it is the nicest i’ve seen in a lot while.
I am biased though, as i did write the scenario to go with the Grimblesnacht kit for the goblin toad airship.
Happy weekend!
Great news for Frostgrave 2nd Edition Week! Can’t wait to check it out. It might bring me back into painting a few more models while waiting for when we are allowed to play once more!
See you guys on XLBS!
Gerry looked like the biggest happy bear when they were talking about Tinder. It was one of my favorite moments in quite awhile. I also love that goblin kickstarter. The creativity and unique look of the models are great.
I’d be actually interested if you guys did a show about your bookshelves.
I may actually float this as something for us to chat about on an XLBS in the future haha
I’m building a hoth board over Christmas. That luke mini would look great on it……just saying
Books With Ben should definitely be a show!!
I backed the Village Attacks boardgame on the basis that the models could do double duty in Frostgrave. I should probably try Frostgrave….
Loving the Ravenfeast rules. I’ve always loved the Vikings but I’ve been quite a fan of that period in English history after following The last kingdom series.
The rules are great and I hope to have someone play it with me locally.
A cat Video…on beastsofwar….whats next? Warren meets cat? ^^
Lol…. tastyboys are back. This has to become some merch like the Beasts of War days. I would totally buy some of that merch
I love the new Star wars models.
We do keep mulling over the idea of more merch – we’ll have to see what 2021 brings!
I’ve not been very hobby active over the last year, but one of my gaming mates wanted to give Frostgrave a spin, so we’ve been getting in a few sessions at my place. On the back of that we snagged two co-workers that hadn’t ever played tabletop minis games, and they’ve both enjoyed it, so we snagged a couple of normies in the process!
I’ll have to get a project up on our progress, I suppose ?
I would certainly like to see what you’ve been working on and gaming with!
Frostgrave Barbarians look very cool
Free Viking battles, cool.
I got allocated one by my FLGS but another player who plays Rebels missed out so I passed mine to him.
Obviously since then I’ve started Rebels ?.
Still it was very much the right thing to do and I can pretend to myself that other people would do it the other way round.
Turns out my FLGS is a scummy price gouger. They have the limited edition Luke (which FFG sent to stores to help them out), and he wants £45 for it. Now this is a shop that charged RRP (in fact they round up prices so technically just over RRP) on all their stock. But hey, I have made a point of going in after every lock down to buy stuff to help support them.
His excuse…other people are selling it for £50.
Well done sir, you win the first prize…for being a scumbag. I will never buy anything from them again. Online for me from now on.
I’m hoping to get some Frostgrave games in when we can start playing after all this.
great show as normal
Good to see Ben’s on a good hair day ?
I want a limited edition Older Luke who is projecting so appears as younger old Luke just so I can stand him in firestorm……..
I know my local game store got some copies of Luke from Hoth but he is selling them for like a $100+ or something. A little too much for a alternate Luke figure. Which is a damn shame because it is a nice sculpted miniature. Frostgrave 2nd edition looks good now I just need a copy of the book with the solo rules.
