Gundam kits look very… angular…
To me they look like something made with bits from your airfix kits leftovers/failed models box.
I do like some of the more basic Gundam designs like the Zaku, but then the “hero” Gundams get pretty ridiculous. Also have a bunch of Battletech minis I haven’t done anything with yet >_>

Happy 2025! The Gundam game looks really cool. I’m looking forward to the Bolt Action releases this year too.
My son and I have a bunch of 1/144 scale Gundams so it will be interesting to see if the rules of Gundam Assemble will scale up to that size.
I really couldn’t care less about this Gundam hype. These kits look all the same to me, and I don’t like the aesthetics.

I watched MS Gundam and it’s more recent OVA prequel last year and I just did not enjoy it. I like Giant Stompy Robots as much as the next guy but just couldn’t get in to this. It never went anywhere. I watched the original Macross the year before and loved that. Gundam feels very similar, but lacked any story or character development. Maybe I would love it if I’d watched it as a kid? If anyone knows of a starting point for watching Gundam that should get my attention as a 45 year old adult please let me know. I know I should love the show, after all.
@lawnor – you have to go back to the ORIGINAL Gundam movies from the early 80s – they are (despite the simpler animation style) VASTLY more exciting than the CGI modern movie. Can’t get enough of the campy nostalgia of them. I’m older than you…

I hope you enjoyed your seasonal break, but man am I glad to have you back.
I made the mistake of going into my local forbidden planet store before christmas and found the whole shop is now full of Manga as It once was. Gundams on the shelves and cutesy poo crap everywhere and those god awful Pop figures. Thousands of them. Where were the comics that weren’t Japanese. The local Waterstones fantasy sci fi section is the same. Good luck trying to find a 2000AD these days. I never felt so old. There was nothing of interest for me. I loved early Manga like Akira and so on but now its taken over everything in the shops. I was scared and had to leave.
John is right. Gundam Wing is totally emo. Universal Century all the way!

Will be interesting to see how Gundam assemble will be positioned. Is it more getting Gundam fans to gaming or tabletop gamers to Gundam?
