Doomrider is first today, nyaaah
(nyaaah is the sound he makes as he speeds by high on life and warp dust).
Well after that hiatus…
If I don’t like Warhammer anymore will I like WhorehammerPLus?
I know people ‘go at it hammer and tongs’… but giving the whore a hammer could involve a visit to A&E…
I think it is safe to say that if you didn’t subscribe to White Dwarf (or at least buy one at semi regular intervals) then their streaming service is unlikely to be interesting.
Even the animations they’re doing are a mere 15-20 minutes max per episode (according to their stream), which is unlilely to be something that will tickle your fancy.
Greatest movie ever made
yes
Great show as always. Congratulations to all winners of the SCC! Amazing, inspiring and awe inducing work!
congratulations, a close run thing and myself and Tim have enjoyed the Waterfront project on the hobby hangout a lot
I humbly admit that I have listened to a few episodes. I’ve been making notes. What day and time EST is it Live Gerry?
I believe it is 14:30 EST I believe
Ah grats to all the winners well deserved. Both @minilaughingboy and @bluepatchy will be very chuffed to see their work nominated and on the big screen, thanks for reviewing it.
And yes it is an R2 unit on the desk, scratch built from Galaxies Edge.
shocking amount of work, I expect it from you but mini LB has more painted to a higher standard than I did in 20 odd years
Great work indeed.
Ahhhhh, weekend… nice to have you back
Really enjoyed the show and great to see the Spring Clean Challenge results. I absolutely loved seeing the Otter Pups getting in to the hobby… @millieclarissapearce is a worthy winner but I agree they are all winners – frankly they all deserve OTT vouchers which most members of this community would not object to? I’m also especially pleased to see @henrileite get a shout out… an absolutely fascinating project to follow. Congratulations to all winners and participants. Over these last few months, the ability to dip into all these projects has provided me with inspiration and encouragement on my own projects particularly with the world falling apart due to Covid-19. I’m proud to be part of such a supportive community. This was my third Spring Clean Challenge and I’ve already unearthed a major restoration piece (a diorama from 1998 that has not lasted the years!) and that could be the basis for next year’s project because it will come around sooner than you think ??. Thank you guys for organising the event and for the time to go through them all… it’s much appreciated. ??
Glad that folks are finding some use in it to resurrect old projects
welcome back. Nice to see John again!
If I win … it’s a marvel 😉
Yay … the gang is back.
It feels like a proper weekend again.
At least some guy on youtube kept me amused.
Nice to have you back ?
Great to have you back folks… Weeeeeeekender
Theirs no place like OTT theirs no place like OTT theirs no place like OTT Hi Guys
Ooh Bogof miniature’s from GW.
Bogoatsptypftfo from GW
Lol.
It’s the Weekender! ?Thank God?
I wasn’t sold on Warhammer TV at first. But after OTT’s explanation of what all you get for the subscription I do believe I’ll sign up. I hope I can watch it on my home theater where I watch all my OTT shows.
I’m so proud of @avernos for knowing deeper info on one of my favorite Marvel Heroes, Moon Knight! Well Done!
I’m will be adding Moon Knight and Blade to my collection of Marvel Crisis Protocol.
Well DONE to all the folks that made projects and entered the ‘Spring Cleaning Challenge’. (glad I didn’t get around to entering anything, I would have felt really bad about my entry verses the rally EXCELLENT entries). Very Nice Everyone. ??
did you see the fan film that came out a few years ago?
They had a great moment with his split personalities https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=al1ghRcPVdM&t
definitely worth a watch
Just watched the video.
Nicely done on the personalities.
I almost expected a flashback to his first big fight against the Wolfman with the mob links.
I was hoping for the all-white uniform, but I understand on a very limited budget that would be tough to do and make it look good and not cheezy.
As someone who tries to create video content, I applaud the makers of this video and will not criticize any of it.
Thanks for the link!
Canny.
As much as a love MK, I am not sold on Oscar Issacs, I cannot think of one thing I have enjoyed him in – but I am hopeful he proves me wrong.
Just going to dig out my copy of Essential Moon Knight Volume 1…..
I certainly think for anyone even slightly interested in Warhammer it could be worth it, especially if you play the game.
I do think they are headed in the right direction with the content you laid out in the Weekender.
With all of what they plan to add, and if it is weekly, plus the fact that it’s all Games Workshop approved and Warhammer accurate it should be a great source for how-to’s and facts on the games and playability as well.
I’m game, as long as they make an app that works with my Android TV! 🙂
Happy Weekend, well done to all those winners and runners up for the spring clean challenge, lots of fantastic projects.
good to see you guys back.
Ronnie told me to post here.
Congrats to the Spring Cleaning winners! 🙂
Glad to see the Weekender back! I think Warhammer+ will become more worth it once there’s more shows on it. Happy to see the creator of Astartes getting a show!
So much beard! Free, next week, you should definitely wear a false beard to fully ‘join the club’! 😉
Offt, A golden button, now this! Crazy couple of hobby days for me. There is so many great projects I have been following along with, almost all the ones mentioned and more. Such great work from all the community, must have been a ball ache even trying to short list never mind pick winners. Congratulations to all who entered and the other winners, we all got stuff done!
We need a new category next year: Most in need of psychological intervention.
Oh no, they’ve mentioned kings of war.
Damn those Salamanders though
Hi all, truly humbled to have won best tutorial, who would have thought that being an anally retentive, borderline OCD perfectionist would have its perks, but clearly it does!
It was a great opportunity to scratch my historical itch, hopefully help and inform others, promote my beloved Corps of Royal Engineers and make a very small dent in my pile of potential.
As soon as I get the correct unit decals in I shall continue so that if you ever want to do British WW2 tanks there is a good reference.
A special mention to @theincrediblemistertoad as I have followed that project thread and am hopeful that when we can get together again I can bring my SS troops to help the fatherland hold on to Stalingrad.
To answer @brennon, your goddamn right I’ll be buying more 15mm tanks, for I am a disciple of the great and wise @johnlyons, and there is no such thing as too many tanks!!!
Looking forward to seeing more 🙂
welcome back
Gerry, thanks for the kind words. To all the winners well done, and to the runners up – there’s always next year!
About the “Formal River”, what I meant for that in my internal thinking I eventually decided I did not want to have a permanent river on the board as the size of the river would influence the overall “scale” of the table, i.e. a 6″ river for 30mm would be an insurmountable obstacle in, say, 10mm, whereas a river scaled to 10mm would be a stream in 30mm. At least that was my thinking, but the comment by Ben, did raise a smile.
Thanks again for the competition and looking forward to next year’s challenge
“Assemble”
Firstly, thank all the gods and every version of them that you’re back OTT! That was a long 2 weeks to be deprived of the ‘tasty boys’. Weeks without Gerry’s Treebeard-like dulcet tones, Ben’s ‘Zoolander’ looks and of course Free’s delightful laughter.
Secondly, well done Spring-clean winners! I followed more than a few of them and they were well deserved wins.
I really like where Mantic are taking their miniatures in terms of sculpting quality. There are coming on leaps and bounds from even just a few years ago. And KoW is a hell of a game. It’s a quality product that is no longer living in the shadow of Warhammer.
Flames of War is finally returning to a game I want to play. The latest edition started on a massive misstep starting in Mid-war Africa but they finally have it back on track to returning to a great WWII miniatures game and the Hungarians are a great addition to the game.
did you see the halfling previews today?
Yep! Whilst I wish they had a bit tighter theme tieing them together, the mounted Captain, the Robot pig war engine, cavalry and infantry are amazing sculpts. I’m also quite taken with the Salamander Corsairs too
I love the winged grenadier unit and the forest troll stuff is an unusual way to take them
I’ve never seen anyone else put halflings on mounts like that but I thought it was a great twist on the halflings on Treebeard from Lotr. The best thing about KoW is that it’s really beginning to break the moulds on fantasy tropes.
it will cost me dearly I’m sure
congrats to the winners 😀 Beautiful work
I may have spat out a mouth full of tea i was drinking when i heard my project made it on the show . Thank you so much never thought id get anywhere with the project . I should really finish it off and update as I go the fog of burn out has lifted thankyou 🙂
I really missed the Weekender 🙂
Yay John!
Wow, blown away by the skill of the great OnTableTop community. Every time I start feeling I’ve reached a level I am proud of I see things to show me I need to keep learning and improving. That is one of the main things I love about this hobby, it always challenges you. Great job all.
I’m not tempted to purchase a years subscription of Warhammer Plus, though I may pay for a month around Xmas to binge watch everything over the holiday. There’s not really enough content for me to subscribe beyond a month at the moment.
I also don’t think there’s anything new show wise that isn’t being done quite well by others already online. The only interesting aspect is the vault but I suspect it will be limited for a few months whilst they’re adding new titles each week.
Congratulations to all the Spring Cleaners! Amazing work all round.
So good to John again too!
This was a fun Weekender! 🙂
great show. hats off to all the winners, some great work in cleaning up. old projects
Great show after the hiatus. Core set looks pretty cool!
I love that Blade minis it is cool.
well done to all the finalists and winners, amazing work by you all
I was wondering why I didn’t have a weekend in the last 14 days.
This Siege board game looks promising
All of the challenge submissions were superb. A bit disheartened I couldn’t get passed three or four entries into mine, but life happens so maybe next year! Congrats to all those featured and to those that won!
Well done spring cleaners!
I think it was me asking about the WA naps vs Perry so thanks Gerry and Spring Cleaning megastar.
As usual my projects went unfinished and (to borrow a cricket commentary cliché) wouldn’t have troubled the scorers. Congrats all you more dedicated and skillful hobbyists!
Spring Cleaning is fun 🙂
Thursday is not too late for the Weekender….is it. Moon Knight is a favourite of mine so I may have to pick this up to paint.
Hungarians are cool!
Well done to all the SCC winners, good job all
