It’s the Weeeek enderrrr 😀
Good to see that the OTT team is willing to take the risks so we won’t have to 😉
We do our duty
Be productive! Watch the weekender, paint miniatures!
I am – especially the painting part, which means I’m listening to the Weekender more than watching it. Plus: My hands are occupied so I can’t spill my anti-GW-vitriol here at the moment. But maybe later. 😀
Thanks for the review of warhammer +. I think I’ll give it a couple of months before I subscribe
Mildly enjoying the re-enactor’s discomfort at the thought of a 15mm pig FoW army 🙂
We’ll make him do it at some point
Purest evil. I like it!
*cries in history*
Jeebus. Monkey Dust – now there’s grimdark!
Very much so. I think I was a little too young to have been watching it – but it is pretty good!
I have the first series on dvd. It was not a good binge
Happy Weekender all. Zombiesmith has some wacky stuff and love the imagination on show. The midway set from Warlord looks great but have yet to try out blood red skies and besides there’s an ice maiden in my foreseeable future I think. Have a great weekend all see you Sunday.
Hi Weekenders & COGz
Lol.

It’s the Weekender!
Going to take a stroll down “ZombieSmith”………..yup, found stuff I want already!s. Dang-it!
I’ve been waiting for “Blood Red Skies” Battle of Midway since way way back when they showed it being played at a gaming convention, ( which was covered by our boys from OTT ), and they had the plastic aircraft carrier Hornet on the table then. I bought, after that video clip, paper models of U.S.A ships Lexington and Yorktown and Japanese carrie Akagi. Love having the ships on the table,. Very large table! I then went out and bought American planes of the Pacific that Warlords was not yet offering. It will be interesting to see how far off my plane stats are compared to what’s being released now!
WarhammerTV is in my opinion worth the money. I have not bought into the apps so getting those is the plus for me. As far as the quality of the shows on WarhammerTV I’m impressed with what they are opening with. I like going to one place that is “Focused” on a game in such a complete form. You can get your game on completely in all forms. Lots of websites cover games, but then bounce around a lot as they cover what they get paid to focus on and hobbyists can feel like, “But I just bought into this game and I want continued coverage of this game. You can get all the coverage you want for Games Workshop games on WarhammerTV.
Love seeing GW give some new love to Lord of the Rings Strategy Battle Game.
I really need to pull the trigger to buying all the print versions of SBG.
I’m going to need to order at least two of those “SW LEGION: INFANTRY SUPPORT PLATFORM” boxes! Probably also the battle craft for the droids as well. I took a little breather from Legion as I’m not a huge fan of the Clone Troopers. Knowing that they turn on the Jedi later just puts me off them. I always root for the droids while watching the prequels. Maybe I SHOULD buy some of them just so my Droid army has something to shoot at. I bought the droids to age up for using in my Empire army of the OG series game play. Dang-it, spending more money!!!
I am already pulling a billion triggers on LotR myself – I’m trying to work out if I want it to be my “2nd Game” after Burrows & Badgers.
I found a bargain on old books and then found myself buying into the new stuff. Many have said the new stuff tightened things up and clarified some things.
Now I need to snag up on those SBG magazines in print format!
Looking forward to playing out the battles of LotR from the Fellowship book.
i think chaos gate demonhunters series will be good.

I hope it’ll be a good turn-based affair aye – got lots of scope for some fun tactical stuff
monkey dust.

their 28mm.
Good show as always. Loving the look of ZombieSmith’s minis.
the Orcy stuff looks great an warcraft like.
a fab informative show guys.
Ben let me know when to take out a + subscription.
I will probably come back and revisit Warhammer+ on Weekender in a couple of months to see what the crop of releases it like.
What you not there yet
Did anyone else have an urge to buy mash potatoes after the indie of the week??
I should have watched a little longer sorry John ?
Good to see ZombieSmith getting Indie of the Week (they deserve some attention). The newer 15mm Quar (and the smaller tankettes) are EXCELLENT, and I’m getting a Studio Ghibli vibe from them and could see something using the same colour pallet as “Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind” being used to great effect 🙂
Alas there no news on the main ZombieSmith website, but they did a Kickstarter to do the ENTIRE Quar range in 15mm (along with new additions). I “think” they are only just now shipping to the backers, so hopefully we might see the 15mm Quar hitting the online store soon. But here’s a link to the Kickstarter campaign (it’s closed now), but it’s WELL worth a looksee for what’s coming (and just what a good job they’ve done with these in 15mm). https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/970181470/this-quars-war-second-edition

On the Blood Red Skies, I’d be really tempted with the Pacific Starter set (along with the additional US and Japanese planes). HOWEVER, I still feel the planes are priced WAY too high. You are basically paying the the region of £3 per SIX MILLIMETER scale plane (you’ve got to remember how tiny these are). Heroics and Ros charge around 50p for a METAL fighter, I feel a more realistic price for these Fighter boxes would be about £20 (at the most) in line with their 28mm WW2 squad boxes instead of the £28 they are currently charging (a “fairish” price would be about £15 which is still raking in about £2 per plane) 🙁
I backed the Rocket Pig Gothic City, too bad I haven’t got to using it yet. Don’t regret it though, they have done some really nice stuff.
Maybe I’ll scale it down and finally get off some 15mm gaming.
Another great show. Jury’s out for me on Warhammer TV+ at the moment. I’ve subscriptions to Disney+, Sky, BT, etc. and I just don’t feel that there is enough content available for me to get excited about for another £50 per year. Indeed I feel I get more value from my CoGs subscription here than I would do from Warhammer+ at the moment. I’m not even enamoured by the ‘exclusive miniature’ as a choice of two as this is still limited and I would have preferred a range of choices across armies/factions to attract a wider audience. I’ve a renewable subscription to White Dwarf so do I need more? Now if there had been digital access to everything produced by GW over the last 25 years but is now OOP, e.g. old codexes, ancient WDs, golden demons publications, etc… I might be more enthused. ?
As an aside… why are so many products going out of production on Forge World – sold out online?
Did notice that. Not sure what’s going on, some of the minis released in the last six months are showing up as out of stock and no longer available (so are they now retired?). The Necromunda range has been hit heavily as many of the releases (about 50% as a quick count) are showing up as no longer for sale (although GW are doing some new packs with additional weapons and arms in plastic, so that might have something to do with it). But there’s a lot of minis the people still want the Forge World seem to no longer produce of late (it’s also rather sudden with no “Last Chance to Buy” which you usually see when they retire a mold 🙁
@phaidknott totally agree with you that there is still lots of demand for FW kits and withdrawing them only hikes the prices up on eBay! I subscribe for messages from FW and GW but I don’t recall any ‘last chance to get’ from FW. I was disappointed the dragons and other fantasy monsters disappeared and many of the Leman Russ conversion kits. I have seen the occasional item return e.g. the Goliath Sumpcroc went no longer available only to come back a few weeks later (possibly a £1 more expensive). I was intending to purchase a couple of Imperial Navy craft (28mm) to add to my OTT Spring Clean Challenge efforts from earlier this year but they are the most recent to go OOP. I don’t trust buying the ‘same’ items at half-price from sites like Alibaba or Wish (even on eBay Im wary) as I’m not convinced they are the genuine thing… oh well… c’est la vie! ?
Forgeworld have always had a habit of disappearing stuff just as you’ve finally saved up enough to buy it, but I think most of the recent stock issues are only temporary. I have a few wishlists set up and I’ve seen multiple units listed as ‘Sold Out’ coming back. I don’t know if it’s Brexit or Covid causing them problems but production has definitely slowed down.
really like those anteaters with their wee helmets
I understood Johns Kenya reference. And if you all didn’t you’re all the worst
Forget Norway!
Kenya Believe It?
Welcome to the weekend everyone!
Kind of leaning into WWE or Dystopian Wars.. definitely want to give another shot I played a demo for WWE , but man Dystopian Wars looks great.
I am still waiting for my local game store to get the Stargrave rulebook. I know that some of my friends eagerly awaiting for it.
Ahhh my favourite show on the net…
