It’s the WEEKEND!
Egads – if Warren’s talking about his “D&D Dolls-house” hobby this much on the Weekender, what have we got in store in XLBS?!?
Loving it!!!!
(p.s. How many exclamation-marks in husband-and-wife code represents sarcasm?) 😉
D&D dollhouse … that’s a word I never thought could exist …
And I certainly didn’t imagine anyone being ok with such a thing in the living room.
I know I’ll be watching the progress closely, because it is something I wished I would have thought of myself.
I can endorse the service level provided by the store… one saga continued for months (not OTT fault) but as soon as the manufacturer provided the element required they followed up and sorted me out!
5 is a sure sign they wear their underpants on their head
Happy Friday!
I love Lloyd’s well idea for your display. If you can only have one building’s interior you know it has to be a tavern. Such a fun project!
Controllable coloured LED’s…gotta be the way to go.
That beholder is looking at me…
Nice show
Evening all, i actually get to this on Friday this week,
I hope Warren has enough mimics available for his dungeon,
Happy weekend folks, now to champion the only true scale…6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm 6mm ?
I know dont you just despair of people going on about these huge 15mm figures
And lo it is written they too shall scale down to 6mm…
6mm is not a scale for minis.
might as well play with tiny screws and metal ballbearings … 😀
Oh shush you
When I was kid I did that, the screws were victorious. Washing pegs in the kitchen sink too instant warships ?
6mm is a great scale for wargaming, you can paint up 10 6mm figures in the time it take to paint up a single 28mm. Now that 10 figure 28mm unit is nearly 100 figure strong (and you can guess which looks more impressive on the Wargames table. And we’re spoilt for choice these days with the like of Adler, Baccus and even Heroic and Ros is remastering all their WW2 and Modern infantry. And when it comes to tank warfare, you can play Flames of War and Team Yankee using 6mm figures, and keep the distances for the default 15mm in the rulebook. And NOW the game looks “correct” with the ranges, and none of the absurdity of a 28mm King Tiger 2 being on a 28mm Bolt Action table (it a massive 6mm game you could get away with it. 6mm is the way forwards, oh yes it is 😛
@phaidknott only 10 figures per 28mm you are obviously doing it wrong… I personally use a ratio of 6/1 for 15mm using a standard 40mmx15mm base so get 24 figures per base… So with a 25/28mm figure I would be using a 60mmx20mm base which adds another 24 figures so a ratio of about 16/1 I think.
Boat vs. ships was explained to me by a squid I worked with who was on a sub. Surface craft are ships and the subs are boats. Look at U571 and I guess that’s the history behind the decision *shrug*.
Depends who you’re talking to and what definition they use, there are dozens (Royal Navy, US Navy, different marine bodies…. etc).
Just don’t ask when you should say “in a boat” Vs “on a boat” (ps almost always on a ship!)
absolutely made up! also i’d love to know feedback from Indie of the week because they must get scoped out after each episode (vague memories of one of them crashing afterwards?) talking of scales i’m thinking if the bases were done in a modular way 10mm or 15mm dwarves versus goblins in those archon dungeon tiles would give them impact (mines of moria anyone?)
Frostgrave is already pre-ordered and got all previous books. Need to assemble that box of Frostgrave wizards I bought a while back.
Happy Weekender all. Great show and Great Indy of the week but it’s Spellcrow for me this week as my top pick, really love the Goblins they have released and the terrain they have on site…and the dwarves, everything really. I would have purchased already but knee deep in the Warploque Kickstarter, my first ever Kickstarter, and loving every minute of it.
Thanks for the show, really enjoyed it even though a puppy dies everytime 3D printing is mentioned 🙁
and the weekender fun begins.
Me and my DnD group did a city-wide fight. It all started because one of our group started a fight with a dragonborn and before we knew it we’d murdered almost all of the city guard… After that we all switched from Chaotic Neutral to Chaotic Evil…then it got really crazy. I love DnD…
Two different movies. The Pentagon Papers refer to the early 1970s prosecution of the Washington Post for publishing a classified report drafted by the Pentagon on the conduct of the Vietnam war.
The Pentagon Wars was a satire on the failed development of two vehicles, the Infantry Combat and Cavalry Combat vehicles (XM723 program); the precursors of the Bradley (M2/M3). I’ve seen the movie and it is funny, but not to be considered in anyway factual. BTW Bradleys are not garbage; the thought implies too much movie and too little facts.
Thanks for the show.
I bet the movie made it look even worse than the actual development, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the actual engineers could have made an even better version if management had not interfered as much as the movie implied.
what about a Demogorgon guys?
them 15mm figures look fabulous.
It’s the Weekender. The team is back together again!
Gawd, it felt like this week just kept grinding on and on.
Lol loved the show.
My two cents on the D&D Dollhouse based on the last VLOG
– For LED, on Amazon US there is the Tenmiro 4-Port which will have 4 different light zone with plug and play LEDs
– For the gap on the front, if you take the tile edge from Printable Scenery and measure the clip on Dungeons and Lasers and mash them up in tinkercad that will be FAR easier than using clay for all those gaps.
– Don’t use green stuff to fix the wall gaps. Create a wall clip like the one from True Tiles and lock them together.
I know you are doing this for promotional reasons, but there are dedicated system wall systems like Wallhalla: Modular Miniature Display Shelves or even a free version you can find on Thingiverse or MyMiniatureFactory that have solved a lot of what you are trying to solve. Also, they make boxed wall shelves that are not a Besta that are already setup to attach to a wall. One of things you will need to do is to reinforce that unit because it is not designed to be on a side.
Amazing show! D&D is really fun, and my favourite character was a halfling assassin, who used poisonous candles to kill people
Spooky noises while playing a videogame are best left to playing Silent Hill. That Resident Evil stuff can be set aside.
You can do a bit of wafty raggy curtains without a glass front. If you hide a tiny fan in a more-towards-the-front bit of the dungeon you could blow some rag in very realistic ways.
This comment is wrong in ways I can’t even identify right now.
?
I’m excited to see warrens dungeon grow
The beholder is pretty funny, more of a threatening sort of snarl than scary. Fits the character IIRC.
I’m thinking the battleruins terrains might work well in ghost archipelago with some jungle vegetation to complete the table.
Gotta say, I am with Gerry on the Bradley fighting vehicle … sort of.
I haven’t seen the movie in question, so I can’t comment on that, but the inception of the M2/M3 Bradley fighting vehicle is truly a deplorable chapter in the history of the US defense industrial complex … and that’s a pretty grim book overall.
So the situation, in general, was this …
The US mechanized force in the late 1970s was the the M60 series battle tank with the M-113 APC.
After a decade long debacle with the West Germans (see the XMBT-70 for that friggin’ train wreck), the US Army finally settles on the M1 Abrams.
Great. Except the Abrams does an easy 45 mph (at least in those days before the tank “got fat”). The M-113 does 30 mph. That was fine in the days of the M60, but now we need a new APC that carries AT LEAST A SQUAD OF INFANTRY (file that little factoid away, my friends …) at 45 mph so the combined arms mechanized force can keep together on the battlefield, part of the AirLand Battle 2000 concept they were rolling out at the time.
Some other procurement / development requirements may have been in there (more firepower and more protection), the M-113 was known to be underprotected in Vietnam especially from beneath, the Army MAY have wanted to replace with old M2HB .50 cal with an autocannon considering the experiments the British were trying with the MCV-80 and the Germans with the Marder, etc.
But that’s really about it. The Army wanted a LIGHT armored vehicle that could deliver a SQUAD+ of troops to the battlefield (M113 could carry 11-12 men in a pinch), with firepower to support them against infantry opponents, and be easy to convert to other battlefield roles – I won’t even TRY to list all the conversions and variants the M-113 has been adopted to. Mortar carrier, air defense vehicle, battlefield ambulance, command vehicles, armored workshops … Seriously, there are dozens more.
Basically, the M-113 was a workhorse / battlebus … everything the Army needed. It was just too old, too slow for the 1980s, and needed a little thicker skin, especially against mines. Oh, and NBC capability in the M-113 was basically zilch, so that needed fixing as well.
So the Defense Contractor comes back with the Bradley.
DEEP BREATH …
At least x2 the Budget … and x4 the cost of an M113.
Initially carried only six passengers (infantry) … MAYBE. Yes, as in HALF the primary mission requirement.
Didn’t the Army need a vehicle that could carry a squad? (two fireteams of four + a squadleader = AT LEAST nine men? Perhaps up to 13 if a third fireteam / weapons team is added)?
The Marine Corps always carries 13 man squads, so the Bradley was always useless to them. To be fair, this was an Army contract and I con’t think the Corps even used the M113.
The point is, this vehicle offered one half the requested mission capability (carrying infantry … IT IS AN APC, AFTER ALL!), at four times the price of the vehicle it was replacing. So one-eighth the platform efficiency.
The Army asked for an APC. They got a half-ass (but double the price) tank destroyer.
Also, forget the adaptability into other variants. I’m not 100% sure, but I don’t think the M2/3 Bradley is capable of being adapted to the multitude of other roles that M-113 could.
They DID deliver the autocannon (25mm Bushmaster … again, I’m not SURE if that was part of the requirement specs).
They DID deliver the speed (Bradley did the required 45 mph, at least then).
They DID deliver the NBC protection (such as it was in early 1980s).
But they also included a TOW missile launcher?
I’m sorry, WHAT?
When was that needed? When was that asked for?
They also included a … (get this) motorcycle bolted to the back?
Weapons firing ports you needed to special M-16 variants just to use?
Enhanced *cough* “protection” of advanced armor. Great. Too bad aluminum was initially used in some parts of the frame / outer body (making it, you know … flammable … just what you want in a vehicle who’s sole purpose is to transport and PROTECT the passengers inside).
Then of course, the contractors hired platoons of K-Street lobbyists to lean on the members of Congress, especially Senate Armed Forces Committee, the House Appropriations Committee, etc.
So guess what gets shoved down the US Army’s throat?
NOW … here’s the HAPPY END to this story and where I might slightly disagree with Gerry …
Throughout the 1980s and early 90s, the Army and the Bradley have come to terms. I’m not sure of the details on how the Army resolved the reduced troop capacity issue (smaller squads? Three Bradleys for two squads?) Not an expert on that, my time was in the Corps, not the Army.
I am 95% sure the armor issues has been fixed / retrofitted. The Bradley remains a glass cannon, but to be fair all APCs really are.
The absurd firing ports have been removed to my knowledge.
The motorcycle is gone.
I’m not sure, but I don’t even know if they make the M3 “Cavalry” variant and the M2 “pure” APC anymore.
I think they’ve managed to up the passenger capacity to seven with a later variant.
SO IN CONCLUSION
The Bradley fighting vehicle WAS a terrible vehicle. Once the Army came to terms with what they were given, made changes to their OOB / ToE, and the worst / most useless features were remediated / removed … it’s now a pretty solid platform. Of course infantry will always bitch about their APCs … it’s what infantry do. Now that Bradleys are understood to be “light tank killers” instead of, you know … APCs … they do well in that role. See 73 Easting / Gulf One as an example.
But still, the Army should get what was ordered – Not have to restructure itself around the bloated boondoggle designed not so much around battlefield requirements … as much as put contractors’ kids through college.
The problem is, do infantry really have to fight tanks anymore? With the introduction of the Javelin, can’t infantry engage tanks more effectively from covered positions while dismounted (instead of being incinerated inside a tissue-thin death box). And how many prospective enemies are really using large numbers of tanks right now?
That’s an unfair assessment, I know … judging a 1980 vehicle (1980s … enemy tanks were DEFINITELY still a thing) by 2020s standard / threat assessment.
In all, I think the Bradley is a solid asset for the Army NOW.
It wasn’t when it was first delivered.
The M2 Bradley …
The US Army at its best.
US defense industry at its worst.
A motorcycle bolted to the back? That’s both genius and bonkers at the same time. The American Defence Industry: For when money is no barrier to the imagination of your lobbyist. There’s a large part that I admire about that. Pork Barrelling at its finest.
Fortunately this was one of the things they quickly got rid of to my knowledge. Others on this thread will know for sure. The idea was one of the infantry passengers could hop on his little dirt bike and buzz around the battlefield as some kind of scout. Because … you know … THAT’S something you want to do on a World War III battlefield. 🙁
? honestly you have to love America. I recommend a new Netflix show Space Force with Steve Carrell and John Malkovich that plays on this side of America and is a pretty funny show with a lot of heart.
“Honestly you have to love America” – actually I really do. 😀
It’s not our country or our military … it’s a few very powerful, very influential companies – along with Congress, along with lobbyists – along with very powerful senior officers or GSA officials actually still with the military … it’s a revolving door between the DoD, the defense industry, and consulting jobs for lobbyist firms.
What really used to make me angry back in the day is the fact that hundreds of billions were being poured into the DoD … while some Marines I knew had their wife punching a register the local supermarket. This, and scraping together food stamps, was just enough to get them by.
Granted, those of us who were single were doing fine. But servicemen with families often REALLY struggled … while hundreds of billions were poured into episodes like the one belabored above.
We don’t “spend too much” on our military. We misspend a huge proportion of it.
I was thinking if a British Tanker has requested a motorbike the Sargent would have pointed him to a bicycle and said off you trot. I did strategic studies in Uni back in the misty past and did a paper on defence spending comparisons and your spot on with what you’ve said. It was a Good while ago but the misspend in comparison to things such as care was evident then. America has always prided itself on giving the average recruit a chance to carry that Marshall’s baton in his knapsack through training initiatives and such, I’ve admired that, but how do you focus when you family are struggling both in the US and UK. I work with a lot of ex servicemen on the mental health side and frankly some of the hardship they went through in their personal lives is saddening. Unfortunately we live within a system that allows the pursuit of capital to overshadow the very need that capital was originally meant to support, it has its flaws it has its benefits, but it’s the system we have that allows money to be allocated for innovation before the roots of the issue are made sound
@oriskany thanks for above, funniest thing I’ve read all week!
Yeah, @bobcockayne – it’s one of those things you have to laugh at … or it will make you angry and depressed.
Is it too late for the short version? 🙂
Trust me. That was the short version. Note I do not mention any of the contractors by name.
1) I’m not 100% sure of all the contractors and SUB-contractors to be sure.
2) Getting into the subcontractors (I believe General Dynamics Land Division was the general contractor, with Hughes nosing their way into the trough to sell the TOW system not asked for … although I think that’s been passed on to Raytheon in more recent years … along with General Electric for the cannon (they make most of our chain guns) … again, I’m not really certain of that.
3) Getting into who asked for what, when subcontractors were signed for what components, when those contracts were transferred to new companies, did those changeovers involve renegotiations, what contracts were for features originally in the procurement specs and which ones were “snuck” in there … Again, I’m not sure of the details and that adds a whole new quantum level of bewilderment.
Sounds like they have been given the British handbook on military manufacturing process get a list of requirements ignore them and design what looks good ? Jim.
Found this on the net about the replacement for the Bradley
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=qrR1IflxDyI
Thanks, @zorg – I actually had no idea about those alternates considered for the Bradley in the 1980s.
That looks like a mine clearing/detecting device on the Bradley in the promotional video @oriskany theirs a few different video’s about the Bradley.
A video of the new & old apc’s from around the world.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=oGMSl777HGU
Iliada make some lovely looking 6mm mdf tanks as well
Warren, that dungeon looks amazing! Inspired, dude. Well done. Can’t wait to see it finished.
Actually, I could probably talk my wife into allowing me to do this as well. Hmmm…
With lockdown in effect and my friends getting more spread out around the world and less available I’ve been toying with the idea of trying to set up an online RPG for us. Its been years since we last did this as we always had trouble committing to get together regularly so I’ve waaaay behind on what systems are there. This prize bundle could be just what I need right now.
Like the idea of the new dungeon build. Love the ad at the end as well. Great work Lloyd.

Pentagon wars full film – free to watch
Interesting show. I have had my eye on Splintered light miniatures for a long time but haven’t bought any of their stuff because locally everyone is playing in 28mm. They do have some great minis and I could really see using them for other systems, with a little rules tweaking, to play epic battles.
it’s weekend time ?
it’s time to give D&D a try but where to start!
but Frostgrave 2nd Edition also looks interesting ?
and my Medieval Cog from Sarissa Precision is almost on the way too ?
good luck with the tv advertisement ?.
????
is it me but I want to play a Dungeon Delve in Warrens Dungeon!
Everyone needs and deserves a Monster Manual AND a Beholder ;P
Really enjoying Warren’s enthusiasm for his Castlevania diorama! Great show as ever, thanks guys.
I really like some of the Harry Potter game models.
They are very detailed.
Another Great Weekender guys and the Splintered Light Miniatures are nice for any 15mm fantasy setting! The entire layout of the “Warren” Dungeon setting is taking shape in thought and physical design
Warren is making a D&D Doll-house for 28mm but he is saying 15mm is the best scale does this mean he’s going to do a new doll-house for 15mm to?
Splintered Light rox!
Great show as always guys! As for my favourite character I used to always play Paladins but my all time favourite was an Anti-Paladin type from some supplement or other called a Redeemer. He was teamed with a fire magic user named Wendel who was not evil yet somehow killed way more people than my evil one. Fun times! (BTW AD&D 2nd Edition Fire Wall was his favourite form of killing people by mistake)
The biggest issue I have with Northstar miniatures for FrostGrave is the scale. I believe they are true 28mm which don’t fit with other fantasy miniatures I use. It is a bummer. Most of my current miniatures are 32mm. Although I could use the Northstar minis as thin dwarves or tall hobbits.
Wow, splintered light ranges are awesome, might get some just to paint for fun.
We have just started playing D&D again, after a 30 year Break! We only have the online rules so it would be a complete Blast to win this total awesome set!!
My favorite D&D character is Morgrim McMad, a crazy mountain dwarf barbarian wielding his Greataxe chopping off enemy limbs!
Always wanted to try D&D.
Happy Weekend!
Ordering Frostgrave 2nd edition this weekend and will gladly add the plastic knights with it!
See you guys on XLBS!
Good show.
The pentagon wars movie is on youtube, you can watch the whole thing. It stars the dread pirate Roberts. It’s funny and frightening at the same time. A good watch.
Happy Weekend Cultists, Hurray D&D, Just started collecting this with my Grandson.
You know, I meant to say this earlier, but I got into my Bradley rant and my brain imploded.
Congratulations on that TV commercial deal!
Man, OTT is finally breaking into the big time!
Won’t be long before we’re saying …
*sniff* … we knew them “when.” *sniff*
Ah that monster manual. My favorite read of the the D&D line and then imagine leading a party to an particularly nasty fight….
An interesting show but I you guys need to learn to control the excesses of Warren.
Unleash the scale modelled wind effects!
Frostgrave 2. Can’t wait. ?
I hardly played Frostgrave 1 but was still buying supplements and making warbands. I played some of The Dark Alchemy book and Rangers of Shadow Deep has also given me plenty of bad guys to use for my Frostgrave bestiary now.
Also had some interest in my gaming club WhatsApp group about playing the game properly.
Great show.
Some clarifications on the Frotgrave 2nd Edition.
All the expansion are still valid APART from the “Grimoire” set of spell cards (as one of the main changes is to do with the spells).
FGV2 has changes to you Warband lists, you can only field up to four specialists (and that includes your Archers and Marksmen), so no more “All Archer Warbands” (which basically broke the game).
http://therenaissancetroll.blogspot.com/2020/06/frostgrave-2-soldiers.html
You can get the Wizards Apprentice for free if you pre-order from Northstar, but the Wizard itself was previously a similar freebie for the last Frostgrave expansion. But worry not the mini is now available seperately on the North Star webstore (so you can get a matched set).
https://www.northstarfigures.com/prod.php?prod=14917
Nick’s also offering a “mini-bundle” of the plastics sprues. It’s £20 for a sprue of Wizards, one sprue of the Soldiers I, and a single sprue of the new knights (enough to get you started with your shiney new rulebook in August)
https://www.northstarfigures.com/prod.php?prod=14918
…and finally, the new Knights set is going to retail at £15 for 10 figures (a bit like the Wizard Box sets), rather than the £20 for 20 figures with the other Soldiers box sets (although with the changes to specialists (who nearly all are the ones wearing the heavy armour, this makes sense).
PS don’t draw me for the D&D prize (not that I’ve ever won anything anyway over the years), because I don’t play it and it deserves to go to someone who is a fan of RPGs) 😀
I think we need to watch the Weekender of an evening. Because I’ve invented a new drinking game, every time Ben says “…which is cool” (it HAS to be verbatim), you take a slug of an alcoholic beverage.
….was feeling a bit tipsy last night 😀
+1 for Hammerlot games. I have a box of their stuff from a previous Kickstarter. Sadly it’s still untroubled by paint. It’s lovely stuff though!
A well shaft connecting the city above to the dungeon below would be awesome! Just don’t forget to have water at the bottom.
I don’t play D&D, but I am interested to win that starter set. I have a favourite D&D character, sort of. The son of a co-worker plays the game and asked me where her son could find miniatures. I showed a few websites to her son, but the models I showed where too expensive (he is a student) and doesn’t represent the character that he wants to roleplay.
He wanted a dwarf druid with no weapons and just a shield. So I made one from a box of warhammer dwarfs that I had from my grey pile. I converted and painted the model up for him. Her son was overjoyed and asked me, how much I owed him.
My price: some fine beer. He gave me 2 bottles of Westmalle Tripel, a great choice ! That is why that dwarf druid is my favourite D&D character.
I drank the Westmalle already but still, cheers ! 😀
Thank you for continuing to put out this content guys. It is the highlight of my gaming week.
@warzan, for lighting you may want to consider fibreglass, it is more expensive than individual leds but allow for cooler effects. Also when you consider graveyard, don’t forget to make a layer of soil, where actual graves would be.
Weekend,, keeps me in touch with happy news
thanks guys
I’m waiting for a Dark Sun sourcebook for D&D 5th
Happy weekend everybody @warzan have you tried Micro Machines for 1/100 size cars not sure if they’re any good. I used to have absolutely tons of them. Would be great for a lot of modern terrain conversions too there’s tons of military stuff and normal cars
My favourite D&D character is always the next one I’m planning 🙂
My longest running D&D character was a half-elven fighter-mage.
For D&D I love the Dragonlance kender characters!
The beholder always reminds me about the Waterdeep expansion for D&D and the umpteen maps from the boxed city set and that you needed a huge floor space to spread them all out! Still have my boxed set somewhere in my bottomless bag of holding ?.
Strahd for best D&D villain!
10-15mm. really is the way to go with rank and file massed combat, especially when all you have to game on is a kitchen table.
Skirmish and RPG games on the other hand, require more detailed models than what is currently widely available.
Hand sculpted metal miniatures, simply aren’t able to have the detail level I am looking for.
It won’t be long with digital sculpting and 3d printing before we reach that threshold though.
