Commenting over here because of prizes
you don’t say 😉
Hi weekenders
Tanks !
So tempted
When will we see a Rainbow Warriors box set?
I’d upvote your project so dashed much if you did one.
A heavy metal-filled Weekender then 🙂
Tonks?
Love the Mad Max look to the Ork trucks and car’s
I loved the coloured GW metallic paints they had but never finished any of the pots as they died of dehydration an never replaced them I may get some of the new Duncan one’s ?!?
I’ve always enjoyed Warlord Games Tank Wars for Bolt Action. I’m looking forward to trying out Achtung Panzer
It’s the Weekender!
Happy Days to see the ‘Relics’ game coming back! I still have my original rule books.
The Fabulous Friday Foursome! Great show folks.
definitely want to see more on trench crusade.
Tanks for showing us the armoured vehicle games ?
Ben says it’s #JohnsFault also John says it’s #JohnsFault. No one in the cast is objecting so I guess it’s #JohnsFault. Do you think it’s #JohnsFault too? It’s his fault!
Ummm……I think I need a flow chart to follow that?
Only by default
Great intro Ben!
I REALLY liked this weeks show.
#its all Johns fault- WWI, WWII, sinking the Titanic, etc
I was playing Friday night games with friends yesterday (it’s already Saturday in Oz when the show drops) and we were all talking about how the rules of 40K isn’t doing it for any of us, and that One Page Rules is better if only because of it’s simplisity.
We also agreed that Mordheim was universally seen as nostalgically perfect (until you play it today) and how good smaller scale games are. We were playing Space Fleet (the precusor to Battle Fleet Gothic) and were loving the simplistic rules and very unique shooting system.
We also tried World of Tanks, and had a great time. We have no desire to expand into games of Flames of War but everyone want’s to try other tanks. Personally I love the Maus from the starter. The game has certainly left us ‘tank-curious’. In short the Mark 1 idea in Trench Crusade scratched a great many itches.
Tanks are lovely at any scale
I want all the tanks now!
ok John what did you do? why no Moonstone! Vote for Ben the wee boy.
Wonder how Achtung Panzer will play compared to what a tanker.
I love tanks in wargames but I’m not a big fan of tank centric games. Prefer them as powerful supports for infantry. I just like combined arms games more.
Good show guys a lot going on.. Trench Crusade i did like the look of this dark game last time saw it… nice giveaway as well saw that box set and thought “that box would make you play Dark Angels”
Can’t help but see warlords Achtung panzer as a higher priced flashed up copy of Toofat lardies What a Tanker. I think our group will be keeping our dollarydoos for other things as we already have all the tank on tank needs tended to by the lardies game.
As for clash of steel…If ww2 ended then sparked back up…How did the germans get tank production going again? Did all the previously allied nations think it was unfair that the germans miss out on the fun so they all pooled together to gift some resources and knock up some production lines so they could play too ?
I really enjoy my book by Toofat lardies ‘What a Tanker’. Very fun indeed!
I’ve used the video made by Ladies/OTT to introduce the game concept to others to get them to try it out. Oddly enough, I’ve had folks try it and like it but not have any desire to go deeper into so called “Better Tank games/simulators”.
Ouch! Trench Crusade is looking “wicked”. ?
finally, weekend!
Hopefully my Trench Crusade minis from the kickstarter will arrive soon. Loving the aesthetic.
The Dark Angels are actually looking pretty good. Shame I can’t seem to finish a 40K army before I get distracted by a new one!!
Not another excuse to buy more tanks 🙂
Me, me – pick me! 😀
Nice one 🙂
Popping up from youtube to comment here instead (VERY tempting prize this week to do so). Also my first comment around here, so hi!
I remember Trench Crusade from when you guys covered it quite a while ago in its early stages… I’m glad they kept expanding it and to such a high degree of consistency. It very much reminds me of the videogame Blasphemous in its grim weirdness and bluntly religious themes and aesthetic.
I’m surprised you talked about GW making dice without numbers and no one remembered they already did that with the latest edition of Kill Team and the “distances are shapes now” fiasco.
Did somebody say prizes??!!
Trench Crusade seems to be coming along nicely, hadn’t checked in on it since the kickstarter so thanks for the reminder. Wasn’t aware of Relics either despite getting the newsletter from TT, glancing at it and slinging it straight in the Bin so thanks for the more in depth look as it’s piqued my interest.
Great show guys – cheers.
Woah thanks for showing off my project Ben, really appreciate it. A Vampire may indeed be incoming…
Trench Crusade eh? I’m waiting for my minis from the Kickstarter and painting the start of The Last War (project to follow). Very timely indeed for me at least.
(Project to follow.)
I’ve been looking for a game I could play with my father, however he havn’t cared for minature gaming since my childhood, but his extreme love for WW2 and tanks might make Achtung Panzer a viability, so I hope you guys do further videos on it, like a lets play, which i can show him to peak his interest.
I’ve got so many Bolt Action tanks I was so glad that the cards are being sold separately, ohh who am I kidding “I want more tanks”
Quiz-atch Had-err-ack.
Night Thirst – Determine which of you suck the most!
As for Epic Warpath, I’m really curious to see if it will stay and if it outlasts LI.
I wait to watch until Saturday morning with my coffee. Old habits die hard.
Been a few year since I won a prize and this one would be sweet. I watch the weekender every week!!
Great show as always – and I am super-hyped that Relics is back!
Great weekender!! Give me more WWII games!!!
The idea of Epic Warpath didn’t grab me, but there’s definitely something enticing about that full table pic you showed.
Also Mr @brennon Sir… there is *never* enough Dakka. MOAR DAKKA!
Good Weekender, could have used more tanks.
It does say quite alot about the current state of things, when you have more chance of getting a box set by winning it as a prize rather than being able to order from the company that makes the thing in the first place!
Awesome prize this week though for the lucky winner!
Thanks for another great Weekender show. I really like all the Dark Angels, Eight Legs Miniatures and the new paints from Two Thin Coats.
It’d be great to see relics coming back, I missed it first time round but love the aesthetic
Tank Crusade looks like they got some Rackham designers involved.
Trench Crusade minis are on their way out to backers, I’m so keen for mine!
I should really twist a friend’s arm into trying the playtest rules out for that game… I don’t think I’d have to twist much ?
I’m with John Achtung Panzer looks more appealing than GF9’s Clash of Steele.
Happy weekender everyone!
Very tempted by the Achtung panzer game hope you guys get a preview copy and do a lets play. Would really like to see how it plays.
The correct way to pronounce “Kwisatz Haderach” is “Kwisatz Haderach” ?
Oh well…
Black Site Studio has done it again, and I’m looking forwrd to seeing their vampire game. It sounds a lot like the Vampire RPG from the World of Darkness by White Wolf. Hope the game picks up some fan base, and develop the same way Vampire and the WoD did (in which case, I WILL buy some Werewolves, because… Werewolves!!!).
Happy to see that Relics is still alive. I’ve never played the game, nor had any figures, but I find it reassuring that a world like Relics’ can endure (a bit like Burrows and Badgers does…).
As for the Dark Angels… What can I say. I have been playing this chapter since the end of the eighties when I discovered Space Hulk… (and it would be nice to add some new minis to my already strong Deathwing (wink, wink, nudge, nudge, say no more, say no more!))
=] I think I may have to go Mantic.. sure there rules are a little simple, but a lot of fun.
Great show.
So many good tank options now. I was looking at What a Tanker, for sone fun armour games. May have to look at the Warlord rules once sone reviews come out, or let’s plays. Hint hint. Will avoid the flames of war styled ones as I can’t stand the look of Tank Carparks on the tabletop.
Trench crusade looks awesome. May have to try that. The terrain possibilities….
I really love those new Dark Angels! Here is hoping to new Blood Angels in the same vein.
I would defintly go for the british in warlords tank war. A lot of Churchills and Valentines ;D
Lots of tanks this week.
Love the look of Trench Crusade. Bombs for the Lord. lol
