Im glad to see these even while being quarantined in my house.
Looking forward to some gaming chat for the isolation.
It’s the glorious ***** Weekender *****
Yay the weekender.
Can you actually play Elder Scrolls: Call To Arms with the free rules without the miniatures that come with the cards? None of the PDFs come with the cards nor a way to create characters. Perhaps I missed something but I do not see how you would play free rules or not.
If you used the Escape From Helgen set I would assume you could play without the additional stuff.
I have already been reading the rules a bit and I don’t really see the possibility to play the game without the cards. Because you use several type of cards in the game. So far I have seen that you have stat cards, equipment cards and event cards. Or there should be cards shown in the Escape From Helgen.
Ah that does suck
Any chance OTT has any contacts with the company and can ask? Otherwise I was going to send an email to see if they could publish a starting set of cards just so you can go through a scenario to understand how it plays.
I believe Mophidius did post at one point saying that they wanted to release the free pdf of releveant/required parts, but there was something about how many there are and converting them to a pdf format that meant there would be a delay until they were released. I struggle to find the post now but i believe it was something along those lines.
Eldar in pointy helmets 🙂
We buckling up for a bumpy ride in US. Lots of hunker down hobby time at least. Here bellow the bible belt we are real close to the nuts.
Mardi Gras battle Cows and super sonic road hens welcome to the Weekender. Great show guys thanks was brill to have a laugh on a Friday evening after another slog of a week. Sod GW anyway, Oathmark looks like a great game and a solid reason for me to add Studio miniatures Tim the Enchanter to a fantasy force. Enjoy your weekend will see you Sunday hopefully with lots of new Cultists. Enjoy your downtime.
It’s the Weekend!
The way this is are going Frosthaven will get delivered before a backlog of KSs that are meant to be arriving before now!
So very true!
nice one guy’s.
Its all about the Battle Cows.
I claim the phrase ‘Battle Cattle!’
Another fine show guys, definitely going to check out studio miniatures
Hang in till next week
I think we broke their website, it’s being fixed, don’t worry
Still broken, says access denied
Up and running now
Oathmark seems good, so maybe I should get back into some rank and file games again.
This is a good chance to do so. They’ve really done some fun stuff with this one.
Thanks for the weekly distribution – keep up the good work.
it just past midnight… I won’t watch now… but I comment to win…
GIB BOX! 😉
That feeling when elves do dwarves better then dwarves.
Happy Weekender! Stay Safe! And comment to win! 😉
I like this dropping on Friday now.
Time for some isolation hobby time
You must get Studio Miniatures on the program love to hear what he has coming up or around the corner or whatever!!!!!!!!!!
try going to web site (Studio Miniatures) say’s Access denied. From Canada
It fell over. Should be up and running again now though
yup up and running now have to convince wife that i need them
We are halfway through Gloomhaven and its been over a year (playing on average once a month).
These prices might seem rough, but there is a lot of play in that box.
Really looking forward to Frosthaven.
Aye, it is certainly a game worth the investment. Childres has done a good job with Gloom and seemingly now Frosthaven
I myself went all in for the Frosthaven game. Including the big set with the organizer trays as these games need it.
YEAH! The weekend starts now!
Given our current circumstances, I’m interested in post apocalypse games. I can see myself buying entire warbands from Studio Miniatures, they look perfect for it.
The great thing about social options being removed is there is lot of time for catching up and doing new hobby!
Those cow things really are a load of mootunus tutunus
Happy Weekend!
Tabletop power against covid-19. Roll your dice and kill the virus.
Really enjoyable show and it’s great that you can offer so much positive cheer during these dark times. I remember see the not Monty Python Holy Grail miniatures some time ago and was tempted then… there’s no excuse now because we do need to support these micro businesses more than ever now (I’ll keep shouting out for Tim Prow’s excellent DieHard Miniatures for a retro Oldhammer style load of beauties). Must also have a look at Frostgrave as this may be the answer to an alternative for Mordheim (why can’t GW resurrect that fantastic game?). No better excuse to stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives. Stay safe everyone.
Frostgrave is really good if you like Mordheim adjacent games – it’s got a lot of that spirit but with a bit more quirk 🙂
I really don’t get along with the look of those big Lumineth Realm-lords moutain spirit cow guys, but I wonder if we are looking at them wrong. Imagine if those trees and montains on their backs aren’t bonsai, but are real. Change the scale, put a few small buildings on their bases that don’t come up past their hooves, and a tiny guy on horseback running away and you have some impressive AoS Titans in the vein of Shadow of the Colossus. They become gods walking the land. They don’t need to look practical for fighting as nothing can compare to them. They just need to look majestic so you worship them. I think they work if you look at them like that, and not in the scale of the game they are meant for.
This then asks a question: Were they designed at a 3-5mm scale for a game we don’t know is/was under development, but got repurposed?
The horns on the Aelves with big hammers are hopefully a separate part of the helmet then you might be able to leave them of.
Ah another weekender to brighten up my gloomy weekend
Soooo ready for the Weekender!! Blood of the Phoenix does look good would go halves with my Drukahri buddy…. Not that he is an actual Dark Eldar that would be terrible and spikey..
Before making my mind up on the big cows, I want to see them next to something else for scale. If they are very large they may make more sense, if they are just troll/ogre sized not so much.
The Warcry stuff is solid but a bit unremarkable for me. Firey chaos dudes isn’t so ground breaking.
I would imagine they’re ‘Bloodthirster size’. GW seems to want each army to have its own endless spells, terrain and large (expensive) monsters and it looks like these guys are their large monster equivalent units so are probably around the same physical size.
I agree with you about the fire Warcry warband. I like the models, but I find the concept a bit dull.
Quarantine hasn’t been too bad for me, I am “Essential” so I still have to go to work.
Thanks for putting in the time guys.
Likewise. I shouldn’t complain given how serious this is for a lot of people, but I would really appreciate a few weeks or months of enforced hobby time!
Great episode, nice to see Zoom getting heavy use 🙂
Lloyd, I would like to disagree with your assessment of Rebels. I can understand people thinking it was terrible as most of the Star Wars animated series at the start have not been the best, Clone Wars (which start as a movie) was disliked. However, from the last episode of Series 1 of Rebels to the end, it built upon some solid story foundations from Clone Wars. What Rebels also did was close off or give a conclusion to stories that were started in Clone Wars case in point the final four episodes of series 7 are set on Mandalore, which feeds into some story beats in later series of Rebels, which then, in turn, feeds elements of The Mandalorian. So I would suggest watching Clone Wars then Rebels also remember the animated shows were not created for older start wars audiences but for kids, as they were shown on the Disney channel XD. If nothing else from Series 3 onwards (till the end) of Rebels Grand Admiral Thrawn is the Villian voiced Lars Mikkelsen, who’s brother Mads Mikkelsen was in Rogue One. This is the first time a non-cannon Character was made Cannon and spawn a new collection of Novels for Thrawn written by Timothy Zahn.
Fabuis Bile? Faaaaybius Bile? FABULOUS BILL!
Uh oh! Looks like my bank account will be emptied now I’ve seen Studio Miniatures.
I have a few of theirs (waiting for paint as you’d expect) and they’re excellent quality.
?You can live without food, right?!
I could do with skipping a few meals for sure 😉
Guys, thanks for the show. So happy to hear St. Nazarene is moving forward, want regular update, please. See you all Sunday.
Oh wow! Didn’t know there were any of those Blood of the Phoenix sets left. Must admit, be nice to have a crack at something different to Imperial Guardsmen…
Studio Miniature models really look good.
glad to see you guys … have a friend would love that prize liked to win that and share
Really appreciating the support the community of developers and companies during this time.
The amount of freebies coming out will not only help keep everybody entertained while in isolation, but will also help spread their brand/games so that once all this is over, hopefully everybody will be more aware and keen to help support many more developers and companies they haven’t before.
It’s absolutely amazing and I hope the community rallies to support them all in kind!
Soooo…. you’ve pulled a Gerry Can from the vaults… to fill some gaps… maybe putting on some filler on the cracks that @warzan back has made? Either way… I’d taken a Gerry Can on plastic putty 😉
Now, what to listen to next while I continue to clean my Hobbyroom/Homeoffice?!
Jerry, you have any problem painting over that Justin grease you used under that roller?
if I do use oil or vaseline to lube them up once they’re completely cured I give them a scrub in soapy water, otherwise it will cause issues
I love the smell of Weekender in the morning
The new Sigmar minis are incredible
fantastic prize from a great show
Another Great Weekender and discussions. I’m really loving the new Ghostrider miniature for the game. The Oathmark game is very intriguing with its concepts, might have to give that one a try. Frosthaven is looking like something that I might have to back on Kickstarter.
Stay Safe and Drive On!
Warren you B@%*@rd! I just went to Northumbrian Tin Soldier and purchased their The Time Robbers set. Great minis. I’ve wanted them for years. Thanks for the sign to buy from a far! 🙂
Brilliant as ever!
Hey, anyone else underwhelmed by GW’s reveals today?
Nice show chaps. I so look forward to these chats especially now while I fester here at home unable to go out.
More Dark Eldar for my pile of shame? Yes Please!
Studio Miniatures have the Young Ones…
Oathmark looks fun
I never knew I needed the A-team and the not-Monty-Python k’nigits minis in my life until today!
Check out Crooked Dice minis…. I just had to buy Dastardly and Muttley…
http://www.crooked-dice.co.uk/wp/product/road-agents-2/
They have many more cult classics to choose from
Crooked Dice minis have some lovely stuff, I liked the Rock Lasher they released not long ago and shown on OTT and think it would be a solid addition to GW Night vault set Mollogs Mob. Planning on picking up some of the wired and wonderful flora and fauna they have to populate my Lost World Exodus. Nice to see them get a mention off other members. ?
I bought Pulp TV a few months ago and added a few minis. Not got a lot, but the ones I have are perfect for my RPG needs.
Quality of minis is excellent. I’d like to buy lots more, but sadly I haven’t won the lottery yet.
Thanks for keeping up with the show. It’s a welcome, comforting part of the routine in these troubled times. Glad to see you are all staying safe as well.
Really hope they remove the battle cows from more units, as the models have a great high elf look to them otherwise.
Happy weekend!
I too, really don’t like the new GW elves, those 2 big ones are, well, CRAP! I liked the first previews of the mage and archers though…
See you guys on XLBS!
Battle Cattle Elves? Someone was getting hammered…
As for the textured rolling pins, the best method I’ve come across so far is to use a pasta roller to preroll the clay to a consistent thickness, then use a rolling pin to add the texture. Granted, I’m doing an army worth of bases for my Sisters, so I like a little more consistency.
hmm…should i get the Elder Scrolls Rules? I will give it a chance, played Fallout and that was fun.
I’m really getting a bit of a Confrontation vibe from the new Lumineth models. It could just be me though 🙂
Oathmark seems like it could be a good system and it has several interesting features. And minis from them are really nice and affordable.
The badger!
Great show guys now time for the xlbs
For some reason when i look at the new Aelves all i see is the Puritan couple from Blackadder!!
Wonderful show as always – I would LOVE to see you guys stream/record Gloomhaven fellas. Please make it happen !!!
Bam, this is a great way to pass the time in lock down
I suppose everyone has their models painted!
Oathmark looks promising
Quarentined = forced hobby time
Really like the look of the some of the Studio Miniatures stuff – even if it’s purely just to collect and paint.
Fast becoming the highlight of the weekender for me the indie of the week segment.
33:35 – @warzan, those puns were udderly awful
Can’t wait to get my hands on those Oathmark rules. It may be a good chance to dust off my old WFB models. The mixed race armies sound cool too!
The free Frostgrave rules is a thing I was waiting for
Lumineth are very over the top. Very much an AOS army. Think about playing them versus kharadron or Ossiarch. This is cool
Loving a bit of a fix during the quarantine!
These Studio Miniatures figures are spot on!
I’ve heard good things about Frosthaven, I’d love to try it once
