May 17, 2024 by avernos
It's OTTWeekender time! In this week's show, we talk about the ways that you can dive into replaying D-Day on the tabletop using the updated book from Battlefront Miniatures for Flames Of War and the various Army Sets they have produced to go alongside it. It's a great time to get involved and support the Anniversary.
If you're looking to play out some World War 2 wargames then the 15mm range for Flames Of War is perfect, especially with those army sets focused on getting you started with the Allies and Axis. You could get yourself one of those new D-Day sets for Flames Of War AND win yourself a copy of Hit The Beach to get you and a friend started with the game.

That video of the Australian AAM rebuilding (almost from scratch one could say) a Tiger is absolutely impressive. Quite insane too, heh.

Plans within plans – Olmec Games
I remember one of the He-Man toon series episodes the super weapon was soap to beat the enemy’s in the show
Fab show guy’s ?
D Day and the Normandy campaign have given me some of my favorite games I’ve ever played. Looking forward to the rest of tHe Villers Bocage series.
John if you have a contact in battlefront will ask them the to fire up the printers and get the D-Day command cards printed they are never in stock. If they could also get the old mission packs like the overlord one in stock that would be nice. It is like battlefront dont want my money 🙂
I like starting with D-Day and ending up with He-Man.
Really like the look of Epic Hail Ceasar and the Flames of War sets. It might be time to go small so I can go larger battles
Lloyd is right its giant ducs and BUILD ROME
Happy weekender hope you all have a grand weekend ahead of you all ?
Lloyd’s right ducks are nothing but modern dinosaurs.
Oh @lloyd I thought you were a Transformers fan. Like a lot of toys scale was never consistent and in the shows and comics a lot of the Transformers could alter their size. The main example of this was Megatron’s gun mode where he became smaller so Starscream could pump his trigger and make him fire. As well as Astrotrain’s shuttle mode being bigger than a train it may as well, as you pointed out, have tardis like pocket dimension capabilities. As punishment 3 Rome buildings☺☺
what he said @lloyd
Never been a big Normandy fan but I get that’s it’s the mega market for Americans. I’ll wait for the Pacific before I add new Flames of War to my painting pile. I’ve done some Flames of War in 6mm for the Desert, I could be tempted to do the same for Normandy later in the year.

It was actually @warzan ‘s (now) old FoW videos that got me into the game years ago. It’s still some of my favourite content you guys have ever made and well worth checking out for those who haven’t seen it.
