Happy Sunday!
Welcome to xlbs. The paid service for Warren’s “I hurt myself today” stories. Remember folks, always keep plasters by your work station. 😉
The way things are going I’m just gonna take my kits down to the bus shelter beside the local A&E 😉
A cool idea for a future comp could be “design a safety poster for Beasts Of War… accident free since Thursday”.
Maybe if could be one of those electronic signs like the ‘now serving’ ones changed to show how many days since last accident. It will probably just stay 00. 🙂
Happy Sunday!
this is Aiming at Warren….. there are a lot of clippers that are made just for plastic and cheaper then what gw have you offer …look for it at scale model store.. now most of them are Japanese product sine they do have a HUGE market over there they even have company that only make tools ,,,here is some thing that you may need to consider getting http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10254553
this one may be for people that a bit more demanding http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10189440
and this is for the rest of is mortals… http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10309558 just excuse the packaging ..
Those look almost exactly like what I have already orders of eBay 🙂
I will report back!
did you look at link 1 price tag 😛 it maker gw’s clipper looks like its from the discount bin
Incredible lol but that’s hobbies for you, I wonder if they are targeted at smaller hands.
I used a pair of the fancy GW clippers and I liked them, but before committing to a pair of those I thought we should try an alternative or two first 🙂
i be getting some tamiya clippers soon well i am in Asia so the price may just not be that bad .. there a warning label some way that say tamiya clippers are not to be use on cutting metal .. really need to keep that in mind
Swear by the cheap clippers I got from CPC brilliant for electronics although I have a new favourite I got from a beading shop cutting head at a 60 degree angle can get into places I never would have thought clippers could get into! Only cost a fiver to boot!
Actually beading shops are a brilliant source of hobby supplies glass beads make excellent paint agitators and I could get 100 for £1 just drop in a pot and shake before use. The stiff wire they sell is great for pinning and comes in handy lengths like 100mm or 150mm and the snips come in a variety of head angles For a lot less than most other places
I swear by my clippers from Tamiya. I too cut myself to the point of “#### this”.
Are you kidding me? That packaging is a selling point as far as I’m concerned!
Happy Sunday 🙂
a word about clippers, if you want clippers that don’t leave a ( lugg) look for an itom called FLUSH CUTTERS .
about the the tray silicon only stick to silicon … teflon had silicon in it …. you sir have pick the only thing that RTV stick to … as for salvaging …the pan is done for.. what you can salvage is the scinic base that trap in the pan … get a art knife and try to cut and dig it out .. as for nomal metal tray yes it will work but you still have a hard time pulling it out as it will be vaccum shut in you need to get in to cave man mode to pull it out, what you need is some thing that you can open from the side then pull it .. ie use lego …try ebay and get a bunch of lego and make a box … oh and none of them cheap china stuff ,, they leak ..
Would an application of Mac Wax before the pour made any difference do you think?
i use vaseline petroleum jelly i have not try wax but for what i know ( not tested) it will work but sine you are using a pan that you can’t open from the side you going to need to Dig it out. so a little brute force is needed at 1st
Just thought of something pretty easy you could do (next time): use tinfoil to line the baking tray. Whether or not the silicon sticks to it, it should at least be easy to pick the slab out of the baking tray.
Or waxed paper or baking parchment paper.
You might try freezing the tray over night, then quickly heat it up in hot water. The metal should expand faster than the RTV and that might release it. Just a thought. I have not tried it.
I second the Lego idea. Seen it done, works well.
AFAIK Nickel oxide is the only substance that will bond RTV to Teflon, better find out how you did it and patent it.
Hey Warren, Happy Sunday. You may have already tried this, but either heat the pan with an hair dryer or maybe boil some water and set the tray in it. Hopefully that will at least you some space to pull the rubber out.
Nice choice of cover picture @lloyd lol
Way to be a good brother eh 😉
@warzan, lol I just thought I would beat @deaddave to the funny still moment this week 🙂
No fair 😛
You can get rubbery baking trays, would they be a better idea? The flex would certainly be better at getting it out if it worked.
if the rubber tray is made of silicon rubber then NO it will bond and unable to open .. now will you consider them aluminum foil cake tray ?
That’s a cool idea. I think only Warren could get this frustrated about a spend gone wrong at Pound land. 🙂
To be fair, it was the RTV loss (and some caffeinated coffee accidentally drunk) that animated me 😉
I know Warren. But can’t resist pulling your leg a bit about it. Now had you used one of Andreas top of the line baking trays “just for a minute hon”, this could have turned hilarious.
accidentally?
My old mate Reg wrote up about his experiences as a tank driver in WW2.
http://www.rtraoldham.com/tales.html#
IP wise, I wonder who could you be on about @warzan
Ooooooeeeeeeeeeoooooooo!
Regarding Battle of the Boyne, Front Rank, Warfare Miniatures and North Star all do figures that would be suitable. Front Rank’s King Billy is a lovely sculpt as is the King James.
There are a lot of interesting periods that would be interesting to game in Irish History, the Irish Civil War, United Irishmen rebellion, the Tudor Nine Year War in Ireland and Clontarf.
happy sunday
The voice-over guy on WQ was used by them on their recent GoT 2nd ed video and buy CMoN on their Wrath of Kings videos.
*by
I have all the Dungeons and Dragons board games, Castle Ravenloft, The Legend of Drizzt, The Wrath of Ashardalon and the new Temple of Elemental Evil, and I think they are awesome! It might be that because I was a D&D players before I played war-games/miniatures games but I really like them.
For those wondering…here’s Matt Berry…
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eP7LHHR91lE&feature=player_detailpage#t=26
I bought that big The Others mini at GenCon last year –
http://www.beastsofwar.com/events/gen-con/gen-con-2014-experience-part-1/
I’ve been waiting for the game for a while now.
The voice in that video wasn’t the Matt Berry I know… I’m thinking of the comedian who was in Mighty Boosh, IT Crowd and Garth Marangy. The voice definitely wasn’t him =(.
Also, I use plastic takeaway boxes for casting. The beauty of it is, you can store the mold in the box with the lid on after use. Keeps them from drying out.
I think the point was rather that it sounded like his exaggerated comedy voice rather than it was him.
Yup I didn’t mean it was actually him 🙂
Funnily the Head of IT where I work speaks a bit like Matt Berry …lol
could you not line the tray with cling film of silver foil?
@warzan you know there is a way to do the battle of the Boyne and make it look cool…….
6MM…. as all true believers know its the only proper scale out there;-)
Do the minis exist?
The period of the Boyne many of the uniforms were similar to those used 14 years later at Blenhiem so Baccus do the Early 18th Century range and Heroics and Ros do the Malborough so I would say yes they do and at 6mm the tiny detail differences would not be significant.
Teflon and RTV are both silicone products ? I use the Lego option and superglue the bases to MDF then spray them with GW (or other similar) varnish to seal it.
For Battle of the Boyne I think 1 would go 10mm with Pendraken. It’s not a big battle so for 28mm have a look at
http://www.northstarfigures.com/list.php?man=123&page=1
For Pendraken

These guys are nice as well
http://warsoflouisxiv.blogspot.co.uk/2011/11/warfare-miniatures-league-of-augsburg.html
In regards to cuttings yourself remember it’s blunt blades that hurt people, not sharp ones.
I’ve never been hurt by a spoon, and I use that to cut various puddings.
Sharp knife blades are less likely to slip than ones that are blunting. Obviously if they are completely blunt then they might not cut at all.
Great show!
Well thats three weekends in a row now that i haven’t been able to watch XLBS, every other video works but these ones. What are u guys doing differently with these videos because there must be something. PLZ HELP!!!!
Ok
1) what device are you watching on
2) what browser are you using (have you tried others?)
3) where are you located (some countries regimes block Vimeo the service we are using)
I use my ipad which uses safari and yes i’ve tried other browsers but still no joy. I live in the north east of scotland. Is there something wrong with my account as this problem wasn’t here when i started my back stage subscription.
It must be the ipad(it is a gen 1). Thanks for your speedy response to the problem warren.
P.S. keep up the good work.
I had problems with my older version of safari lateley, so I changed to a updated version of firefox and now the vimeo videos run fine. It works on my old mac, but I’m not sure if it will on a iPad. May be you need a special plug in from vimeo?
I also had some issues with it just keep stopping – I used my Kindle Fire (usually fine) then tried with my Samsung A3 phone. I’m assuming mine is internet connectivity.
Happy Sunday!
@warzan drag your soggy bottom into the kitchen and bake it for about 45 minutes in a preheated oven (about 220 degrees)? 😉
Warren have a look at this for info on the battle

Happy Sunday
On a small, technical side note, is anyone else experiencing a video/audio delay in their streaming?
Yes @goggs, I exerienced problems with lip-sync during the XBLS this morning as well.
I have noticed the issue on some other BOW’s videos recently as well.
Anyone else having a lip-sync problem? I’ve not been able to replicate it on any of my devices Work PC/iPad/Laptop etc.
@goggs @generalmayham
Is it all the way through a video or something that creeps in over time?
If you stop and start the video dose the problem persist?
What happens if you jump to a new part of the video so it buffers again?
Not having problems on XBLS but on a lot of the Vlogs, especially the AoS basing one it has been out by a couple of seconds
@goggs @generalmayham @torros I need to know what devices you are using. Vlogs are not shot in anyway that would cause a lip-sync problem.
I’m guessing your on some sort of tablet/phone? Been chatting with my wife and she’s informed me that she has seen a lip-sync problem on the iPad.
So this looks to be a problem with the streaming service to mobile devices and not in our edits.
I have seen the lip-sync issue happen and generally it creeps over time, if I pause the play for awhile as well.
I’ve had some lip synch issues whilst watching weekender videos on the iPad2. If I stop and start the video it will run fine for a couple of mins before the lip synch becomes an issue again.
Yep I’m having some lip-sync on my iPad Air 2.
Sorry, forgot the word issues in the that sentence.
Refer Star Trek: You talking about Star Trek Fleet Captain. A not so bad game. About expediton, warfare etc. in the Star Trek universe.
I like it btw.
https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/79127/star-trek-fleet-captains
Why not just pop down to the Boyne Visitors Centre? It’s very good and very impartial in its telling of the event, and you pop into New Grange while your there
Oh the Battle of the Boyne was on July 1st according to the old Julian Calendar, it became the 11th after the British finally changed to the Gregorian calendar. Battle of Aughrim was fought on the 12th but after the change became the 22nd
Well thats two cold coffee shows on the trot, Victoria laughed so much she had a massive coughing fit especially every time John on occasion looked like he was going to say something and no one else noticed and carried on.
I used to watch these shows with Jewellery Maker on in the background its a TV sales type show that sells the raw materials for making jewellery, but for a while now I have come down to the shouts of “I’ll take the dog out the tea is mashing you line up Beasts of War, for thee show.” Even Jenny the bloody dog jumps on the damn sofa to watch it.
Maybe putting the tray in the freezer will make it brittle enough to snap out.
You could also try boring a small hole in the silicon and pushing the straw from a can of air duster in and under the silicon then use the can of air duster to try and separate the tray and silicon
@lloyd
I am using a Hudl 2 with Chrome. I keep it fairly all free so plenty of memory available
App free sorry
Happy sunday and what a great show!
Just a suggestion I don’t know if it would work but @warzan you may try to freeze the form. If the rubber shrinks it may be get out.
…ah nakchak already suggested the same thing 🙂
Hey when in doubt burn it with fire if that fails banish to the back of the freezer, that’ll learn it 😉
Instead of keep asking John what he’s thinks, couldn’t he just edit in some “Think Bubbles” later. The look on his face sometimes I reckon some of his thoughts would be priceless.
Happy Sunday Everyone. I’m off to pay my own weekly tribute to Agincourt by shooting my Longbow like all good law abiding citizens should on a Sunday.
Johnny Jinx and What He Thinks!
That’s the kind of thing. I don’t remember the cartoon strip though
Happy Sunday.
@warzan you don’t have to tell me how long @lloyd ‘s Palm Tree is as I think I have made more than him (30 and counting). I based them using 30mm discs cut from cork floor tiles and magimix (as shown Hobby Lab).
This is probably a good alternative to the GW clippers:
http://www.amazon.com/Xuron-170-II-Micro-Shear-Flush-Cutter/dp/B000IBSFAI
I have a pair bought from a beading shop pretty decent not flushcut though so they do pinch one side of the cut but very useful as I have the tight head angle ones so get into loads of awkward places my flush cutters cant
Happy Sunday 😀
xD Can only agree with Warren, the WH Quest dissapointment ^^ And them, imo, crappy D&D boardgame, why cant they make awesome, they should rival Decent and WH Quest any day, but then we got these.. 🙂
Do hope the Dust BF meeting is a step forward for these companies, and by the way – Dust Battlefield ftw! Great game, we had a mini-championship over here in Sweden a few weeks ago, it was great fun, hardly any need for rules-lawyering as the game is simple but great, everybody had a great time, best tournament I have taken part in.
@warzan – why don’t you spill the beans on the “major new license”?! I’ve been replaying the vid to try to figure out the tune you’re humming!
Also, is Warren on something today? He seems kinda hyper…
Sounded like a timey wimmy thing, but thats just me lol
Very glad to see Battlefront and Dust Studios talking. I have no stake in the Kickstarter or the game (I bought the Dust Warfare rulebook to see what Andy Chambers would do with a wargame these days, but I have no miniatures), but it’s been tragic seeing what is a relatively small community and a relatively small industry going through so much fighting and nastiness.
Both companies must have suffered and are unlikely to recover their reputations any time soon… My guess is that it would be in both of their interests to patch things up and continue to work together. If they could learn to trust each other again (presumably with the help of some specific contracts!), and could make things up to players/backers, that would be the best bet for rebuilding trust from everyone else.
@warzan
You mentioned about the battle of Agincourt and how you know so little about it. I’m not going to bore you with any details other than it’s possibly one of the finest Last Stands in history (right up there with Thermopolae and Rorke’s Drift) and let’s face it, who doesn’t love a good Last Stand story? In terms of cinematic moments there’s not much that’s more rousing than a heroic victory against all odds or even a heroic defeat. So go read about it and I’m fairly sure you will be utterly blown away by it.
However, given your current interest in world war 2 and your love of Band of Brothers I find it very strange that you haven’t as yet spotted the link between the 2. The “Band of Brothers” is lifted from “We few, we happy few, we band of brothers” which is part of King Harry’s St Crispin’s Day speech in Shakespeare’s Henry V given directly before the battle of Agincourt. Obviously, Shakespeare’s version is incredibly romanticised but romanticism is all part of telling a great story and Agincourt is nothing if not a great story. Also, the same play contains another famous quote which has worked it’s way into the English language, “Once more into the breach”.
I’m not really a big fan of Shakespear because of the language barrier but I can highly recommend the BBC’s The Hollow Crown series and if you don’t want to watch Richard III, Henry IV part 1 and Henry IV part 2 you can just watch the last episode, Henry V starring Tom Hiddleston.
Here’s a little bit of the speech, https://youtu.be/hHia1zu_YNI
sorry, that should be Richard II not III
@dougiemonster
Time to start plying “Name That Tune” at 21:26.
Could it have something to do with a blue box that is “Bigger on the inside”?
Hmmm… You know, it does sound a bit like that!
Oh I do hope so!
However with @warzans humming I could be wrong lol.
Medieval Warfare Magazine recently released a special Agincourt edition. I’ve bought it but not read it yet.
@warzan to release the mold you might have two issues, first suction, the mold has created an air tight seal and caused a vacuum. Try and take a razor blade and run it along the edges to create away for aIr to get in. Then take the canned air and slide the long straw down the side and try and get it under the bottom and spray. Do this in several areas and see if it breaks the seal. The other thing to try is after slicing around the pain, you want to heat it up with a heat gun till its hot and then immediately place it in an ice bath. The combination of high heat to cold will expand and contract and this maybe enough to get the mold to pop loose. Well, maybe you might want someone else to do it so you don’t lose a hand or burn the studios down
She blinded me with SCIENCE!
Lol! That just made my day, @oriskany!
Awesome, @deltagamegirl22 . I was hoping someone would get that reference.
if you wanted to use a metal tin for moulding maybe try one of the metal cake with the removable side (wich clip on and off)
No “First” This week, too hungover.
I never give you negative karma for ‘First’, but I’m giving you it today for not making the effort. For shame! lol 😉
But my little head hurts 🙁
tut, was expecting to see your post with a ridiculous number of thumb downs! you’ve broken the chain now.
Next week
@warzan
That card game version of Warhammer Quest was a total disappointment to me too, I even commented my dismay on their video too, saying that GW should’ve brought it back instead, as they did with Space Hulk, but not made it a limited release because that was stupid too. They turned what looked like an exciting game that is mostly in 3D with minis into a boring looking flat game of cards. Idiots, what a wasted opportunity, who even wanted a card version of the classic game? I never got the chance to play the original and got excited about it when Warren would mention it and how cool it was. Now I’ll have to check out ebay again, but they’ll probably be too expensive there anyway.
Maybe GW wouldn’t let them make a miniatures version of the game? Thinking about it logically, GW are very proud of their minis and of making them and I can imagine that they wouldn’t want another company to make versions of their models and restricted FF to only making card versions so that people who want the minis would have to buy GW’s minis.
And perhaps, maybe, I dunno lol, GW might see how well the card game is received before deciding to go ahead with making a proper board game with minis that fans of the game would want to have? Perhaps if they see a huge outcry for the miniatures game after seeing the boring looking card version they’ll give it a go? They made that one-off Dreadfleet that no one knew was coming, so making a new Warhammer Quest game isn’t totally out of the realms of chaos, er possibility, lol. Just wish they’d did it in the first place!
On the topic of Dust – there’s another version of the game? They should call it Enough Dust: F.F.S lol!
I one of the backers of Dust Babylon, still waiting for my stuff, and I’ve begun to lose interest in it. New stuff like Age of Sigmar, Alessio’s Terminator Genisys, and the new Halo and Dropfleet games have piqued my interest. Dust was a game that looked cool (the demo of Warfare I played at Grumpy Con sold me on the fun game) and seemed like something that I could get friends to have a quick go at for some fun games. But with all this waiting around and new stuff like the quicker to play and understand AoS or Terminator, I think I’d rather be looking into that than Dust now. I’m confused as to what is now the most decent and fun way to play the game (a 4th version is taking the piss or is it a revamp of Tactics?) and I don’t know if Battlefield will continue to be supported in-so-much-as any new releases of minis will work with it or if I will have to have a different version of the game to use them or not.
I think they need to take a leaf out of GW’s book, perhaps to reference one of Jervis Johnson’s articles from not too long ago about “murdering your darlings”, in which he talked about basically breaking down what you’ve come accustomed to, getting rid of stuff and starting afresh – which is strangely what GW has exactly done with Warhammer!
Paolo/Battlefront – whoever is now in charge of the Dust game needs to abolish what has gone before in all it’s forms and create one frigging sodding bloody goddamn game that is the ONLY bleedin’ game that you can buy to play Dust. It can include all the variations of Dust right up the wazoo, but it’s all in ONE BOX! One box to rule them all and on the tabletop bind them!
*I’m
Will there ever be a post editor? Do I always have to be super spot on with spotting my own typos? C’mon, make a post editor! lol 😀
There’s Dust (which is a boardgame), Dust Tactics, Dust Warfare, Dust Battlefield, Dust Up, Dust-to-Dust, Dustpan and Brush, Dustin Hoffman, Dusty Bin, Dusty Rhodes, and My Old Man’s a Dustman. I think that’s them all lol
Agincourt is indeed one of the true a**-whippings in history, one of several battles of the Hundred Years War that nearly eliminated France as a nation. Not only were Henry V’s men outnumbered at least 6-1, by most accounts, but they had virtually no cavalry and were greatly weakened by sickness and exhaustion. They’d been campaigning in northern France for several months, including the long and costly siege at Harfleur (this is where we get the line: “Once more unto the breach, dear friends!” – at least in Shakespeare’s version).
Yet the English won, and very, very badly. People like to argue about actual casualties in medieval battles, data isn’t nearly as concrete as we see in WW2 battles and the like. Suffice it to say that Shakespeare’s wildly-imbalanced “accounting” is nowhere close. But the fact remains that the French monarchy was humiliated (the crown prince was actually there, I think), their top general mortally wounded (?? the “High Constable,” please correct me if I’m wrong), and their nobility gutted with hundreds, if not thousands, of knights and men-at-arms slaughtered.
Warren is right, the outcome of this battle led to the marriage of Henry V to the daughter of the French King. Other factors included the English victory at Harfleur and the ongoing occupation of French channel ports like Calais, English-occupied since the time of Edward III, things never turn on the outcome of ONE battle no matter what the movies say).
But this didn’t stop the fighting in any respect. This series of wars had been going on through the reins of Edward III (won the Battle of Crecy, another ruinous French defeat), his son Edward the Black Prince (win the battle of Poitiers, ANOTHER ruinous French defeat), Henry IV, and then Henry V (Agincourt), and finally Henry VI. It wasn’t until 15 years later with the arrival of Joan of Arc that the French finally start turning this thing around, but of course she’s burned at the stake just over a year later.
Anyway, history has combined this run of wars, from the mid 1300s to the mid 1400s, into a generalized “Hundred Years War” between England and France. Never has France been so close to being completely blinked out of existence, with parts permanently “swallowed” by England and others lost to civil strife (Burgundians). It wouldn’t be until the time of Louis XIII (during the time described in The Three Musketeers) that France really retook its place as a world power.
I’m sure others know far more about this period of history. Again, very glad to see historical content again on the “front page” of Beasts of War!
Personally I would have said Agincourt was a blip in what was always going to be a French victory in the end. the writing was on the wall before Henry V appeared. In fact at the Battle of Patay Joan of Arc did to the English what the English did at Agincourt
Took ’em long enough though. And they kind of won when they did due to a rather fortuitous set of circumstances with the English King (Henry V) dying when his son was 9 months old and essentially being brought up by ambitious nobles ultimately leading to a very weak king. In fact I think it’s probably fair to say, without wanting to sound unfair to the French, that England lost the 100 years war rather than France winning. Which in many respects is no different to many “empires”; eventually they all fall and they’re usually the instruments of their own demise. It’s also very English to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
Joan of Arc only managed that because she clearly was a witch and used magic! 😉
The French and the English were not the same kingdom. The English were ruled by the Normans ( from 1066 ) who were a group of Vikings that had settled in the north west of France in the early C10th and become Dukes of Normandy with allegiance to the French King. The Normans took on the French language and some French customs. When the Normans conquered England they became Kings of England and remained Dukes of Normandy, though once they had become Kings of England they went about taking ( more ) land in France and made claims to be Kings of France.
Of course they did. They were vikings. Give us it or we’ll fight you for it.
That’s not quite true. The dukes of Normandy were only briefly also kings of England. They were split for 19 years following death of William. Normandy was given to his eldest son who was a weak ruler and died poor. His youngest brother, who was king of England by then, conquered Normandy and added it to the English crown. A civil war then kicked off after his death which led to Normandy being conquered by the Count of Anjou and added to its substantial holdings. His son then was adopted as heir of the English throne to end the civil war and it was Anjou who controlled most of France and the English throne, rather than the Normans.
Tying this to the Agincourt, the son in question is Henry II, founder of the Plantagenet dynasty. He was succeeded by his son, Richard (of ‘the Lionheart’ fame) who died without an heir and caused a succession crisis which resulted in the loss of all holdings in France to the French king. A later Plantagenet king, Edward III, began a war to claim the French crown, which became The Hundred Years War.
*almost all
Appreciate the clarification, though i thought that Anjou married into the Norman dynasty ( such as it was ). Is that not the case?
Henry I’s daughter, Matilda, married Geoffrey, Duke of Anjou, and without a surviving son he named Matilda his heir to England and Normandy. Her cousin, Stephen, took them on Henry’s death which started a civil war, during which Geoffrey took Normandy from Stephen and added it to Anjou’s holdings.
So Henry II was part of the Norman dynasty via Matilda and part of ( start of ) the Anjou dynasty via Geoffrey?
He was the son of Matilda but as succession wasn’t matrilineal he wasn’t part of William’s dynasty. France still operated under Salic law at the time which was strictly agnatic. This is why Edward III’s claim to the French throne was rejected as it was derived through his mother. Women who inherited titles would have them absorbed into the husband’s line. This is how Henry became Duke of Aquitaine.
happy sunday guys.
My video packed up with about 10 minutes to go last night. Caught up now – but the best was yet to come! The tank stories were amazing, and the highlight of the show bar-non. We need a whole dedicated historical show!
happy sunday and thanks for a great show!
@warzan have you tried to use air (from a compressor) to blow air into the corner or side and that may allow some air to get under the goo and thus break the tension and get it to release.
@warzan You shouldn’t call women ladies either, because that suggests they’re either ladies or the other thing. Women should be referred to by the gender only. women or females. I have attended millions of sexism awareness courses, last time for calling my mate in work a truncheon. I never learn.
Good point. Lots of women I know certainly ain’t ladies.
@warzan I didn’t think it was possible to stick silicon to metal so in a way you’ve achieved something incredible!
I can only assume that non stick coating is silicon based as silicon sticks to silicon.
Presumably you’ve tried forcing something like a butter knife down the side to break the seal? If it’s possible to do that you could use an air compressor or water jet to blow some air or water in their and separate it.
If that doesn’t work I would try sticking the whole thing in the oven on a low heat to see if it breaks the bond!
Battle of Aughrim was the decisive battle of the Williamite Wars and was thought on the 12th with the Boyne on the 1st as per the old style calender. When we moved over the Georgian calender the dates changes to the 11th and 22nd. Also 1st of July ended becoming more of a remembrance for the Battle of the Somme and the 36th Ulster Division.
As for gaming Benneth the Lily Banner is meant to give a good game but I haven’t played it. I have played Donnybrook which is the League of Augsburgs skirmish rules. ( I have a Covenanters force!)
Minis wise League of Augsburg again or Frint Rank who have a great William model which I keep saying I’ll paint up one year and give to my brother as a present in the 12th or his birthday.
@warzan Just had another idea for the tray situation. If you flood it with some White Spirit and leave it for a few days (preferably away from any naked flame!), it should start to break down the rubber so you can force a blade down the edges (see above).
Good luck!
Hi @warzan if you want a potted look at Agincourt try this the other two battles are worth the read to,

Bah, did you know that when you point the mouse on the video and press on the keyboard three sharing options pop up? 🙂
I like the water tower. It can be used in so many games but on the other hand I would limit it to the USA setting. I don’t know why but it just looks like in old western genre films.
