The folks at Zenit Miniatures have been previewing more close-ups of the miniatures they are going to be offering as part of the new Sakurakami: Jewel Of The Empire Kickstarter that will expand the options for Kensei.

As we thought, the focus is going to be on a band of female warriors that are going to be the saviours of the empire. They are coming with a neat array of different weapons including some armed with larger spears and katana.

You've also got some rocking more volatile weapons in the form of these muskets. That's one way to spook your enemy and get an advantage over them on the field of battle.

These miniatures that you see here very much put me in mind of the Historical Onna-musha that were the female samurai charged with defending villages and towns when the other warriors were away on campaign. They were fierce fighters in their own right and not people that you would want to be messing with!

I think this is going to be a particularly awesome set of releases for the continuously expanding world of Kensei. The folks at Zenit have properly gotten their eye in when it comes to producing miniatures in this theme and they just seem to be getting better and better.

I really like the different poses that the archers are in above. You've almost got an archer in each different step of drawing and firing their bow. It's very awesome! The Kickstarter for these new miniatures is just around the corner so make sure to keep an eye out for it if you're eager to get more Samurai action onto the tabletop.

Will you be checking out Sakurakami: Jewel Of The Empire?
