Mantic Games has been showing off the impressive raft of releases coming out for December this year. The Salamanders are getting some fun new 28mm monsters and heroes alongside bonus releases for the Orcs, Empire Of Dust and more.

Salamanders Gekkotah Slasher - Kings Of War

The first of these releases is the Geekotah Slasher. The crew ride into battle atop a ramshackle howdah and can fire their bolt thrower into the midst of their enemies. The monstrous Slasher is brilliant and I think the sculpting work on the Salamanders on its back look fantastic too. I bet you could have fun chomping your way through the enemy with these.

Keeping with the theme of big monstrous reptiles, we also have the Salamander Clan Lord On Fire Drake.

These Clan Lords lead from the front and by vigorous example. Elite warriors, trained in the art of war, tactics and logistics, you will certainly want to include one of these in your army. I like the lava glow coming through the skin of the Fire Drake and the gout of flame spewing forth. The Clan Lord also looks excellent with a fearsome glaive in hand. I like that this fellow has something more draconic about him rather than just being themed around that Aztec/Mayan aesthetic that we often see.

Moving away from the Salamanders, the Orcs are also able to call on some thundering war machines. See what you make of their Chariots & Fight Wagons.

These chariots and fight wagons have a simple battlefield role. All they have to do is charge forth into the heart of the enemy and start causing havoc. The chomping jaws of the mawbeasts will turn your enemy into mincemeat and then the spiked chariots will finish off those who escaped!

If you're looking to ride on something a bit different, how about the Empire Of Dust Sandborne Wyrmriders?

It was once a great sport of the Ahmunite nobility to capture these wyrms and ride them. This tradition has continued once more with elite revenant warriors still riding them into battle. Both the beasts and their riders have retained their skills and they are a fearsome foe to face on the battlefield.

Talking of mighty champions, the Empire Of Dust can also draw on the Empire Of Dust Revenant Champion kit as an option.

This gives you options for a deadly Ahmunite champion that can take on all comers and the option for a Standard Bearer or Army Standard Bearer. With all of these mighty heroes on the back of fearsome beasts, sometimes we forget about the fact that the rank and file need their heroes to follow too.

There are also some additional releases for you to snap up starting with the Undead Wights Regiment...

...but you can also pick up some more miniatures for the Trident Realms as well, the Neritica Gigas. Both the Neritica Gigas and the Undead Wights are now available in resin allowing you to snap them up in an alternative material than before.

So, could you be tempted by these new releases for the month of December?
