Well for me with whfb and warmachine it was both the off and online community.

interestingly enough for the German Facebook group the main reasons are mainly toxic communities and quality failure by the manufacturer, followed wed by a lack of players for a game. I noticed as well that in Germany people at else’s likely to pick up a non-GW game though luckily at least that seems to change a little bit.
