Again I have attempted today to improve on my original piece. I am going to enter this at Salute in the Single Historical Figure category. I painted this for Warlord’s ‘The Emperor’s New Clothes’ competition and I was a little disappointed that it could not even make commended entry level. However I think the piece is not without merit and features for example 46 bees that I have free handed across the miniature. Improvements I have made include : increasing the directional lighting on the face, smoothing out the blends on the cloak, adding more NMM to the metal parts of the staff and improving the volumes on the carpet.
Postscript : This mini took Silver at Salute in the Historical Single Figure Category.
