@onlyonepinman – even in 40Gay the ‘terrain’ does nothng except block LoS. Yes, that is pretty obvious, but once you are ‘in’ the terrain it means nothing. A long, long time ago, in an economy far, far away, the 40K rules had stuff for assaulting terrain and those troops who were trained to do just that had some great abilities. In the old days you did not want to face off against some Striking Scorpions!
The same was true about many of the Special troops. Scouts, Snipers, and Assassins are just different minis, and don’t get me started about their attempts at ‘overwatch’.
Why do you use PVA on your MDF? I use thicker superglue. Great if you want to take a few bits apart!
The “structure” is outstanding. I was thinking something similar…ever seen ‘Outland’? Processing plant or the exterior parts of a Mine. Who knows, but you are right, there is so much out there that you can find ‘bits’ to fill every part of your creation. TTCombat would be my first stop. However, there are a couple of guys local(ish) to me that make some lovely stuff.
This guy is amazing. All the parts are pre-cut and bundled together…no cutting! He is about 40 minutes from me and I have messaged him and he will consider making anything. Just ask.
I can’t remember what the other guy makes. Dave has bought 5-6 of his buildings and the multi-level ones are amazing. He is called something like “Dave the wargames guy” and is from Sunderland. I’m sure you will be able to find him on Ebay.
If I build something the whole point is that theentir game would be set within it/on it/inside it. It is just a day-dream at the moment (until other stuff gets finished), but I would like it to ‘fit in ‘ with all the other stuff we have. We have canals and overhead cranes…maybe a huge loading station?
