This lady of the flowers
As the relentless expansion of London continued, so much of the surrounding countryside was consumed into urban sprawl.
Dark alleys of tenement blocks made life hellish for the poorer folk.
Things got worse when bodies started turning up as human grow-bags with exotic flowers and foliage bursting out of every orifice.
”Don’t go to Hackney marshes alone” they’d say “or the Lady of Posies will have you for her garden”.
