Apart from the base that’s Space Marine person number 1 done. Maybe I’ll do another next year
November 10, 2018 at 2:56 pm #1299654Been painting up some of Spectre Squadron this weekend and also to tie in with the weeknder, Collins aged 11 vs Collins aged 31.
November 10, 2018 at 3:27 pm #1299667This particular mini has been sat on my painting desk partly painted for 3 years, so I decided to try and finish him this week. I still have a few areas to touch up, such as the face and the horse shoes. The aim was to practice Object Source Lighting, I think I managed to get it right.
November 10, 2018 at 7:20 pm #1299784Some German vehicles finished off.

November 11, 2018 at 12:16 pm #1300110Conquest is in my boot… And it’s raining…
Think I’ll start on my Ghar 🙂
Started on the glow. Still some work to do
November 11, 2018 at 12:25 pm #1300114Finally finished the Manhunter. Needs one more coat of dullcote, but otherwise finished. In real life the model looks very matte, but in pics it seems like there is a lot of sheen on the mini – hmm – odd.
I’ll update the project immediately after this post 🙂
** edit : Sorry about the crappy pics – odd, as they look pretty sharp when I create / edit the post, but seem a little blurry when I view the completed post?
November 11, 2018 at 4:27 pm #1300185Finished some Endless Spells. Very happy with how these turned out.

November 12, 2018 at 1:16 am #1300256I got the base coats on my Konflict 47 American walker. Some weathering and minor details left.
November 12, 2018 at 4:29 am #1300299Well I haven’t posted on the forums in absolutely ages because reasons. Of course. But I figured I should perhaps try to get back into that to help out with the old motivation. Recently I’ve been messing about with the “shaded base coat” technique in an attempt to cut down the time spent per model, increase the fun and amount of practice and hopefully maintain or improve the quality. Definitely all about improving, but the glacial pace I feel is really getting in the way of that. In terms of speed and fun it’s a definite win, I’m not entirely sold on keeping the quality up but seeing some of the results from the video(s) I can imagine it’ll get there with practice. Plus you don’t have to stop there, the time I’ve spent on models doing this tends to be back loaded and has me focusing more on trying to smooth out blends and put in details. All that said I do think the quality it provides is pretty good either way. I started off with an old devourer, sans silly blade on her head gear. I’ve also finished a veermyn which I need to scrounge up photos for and I’m closing in on finishing a dwarf from fabled realms. Well THE dwarf for right now. I’ve started putting this stuff together in a project here: https://www.beastsofwar.com/project/1300263/
Now it looks like I have some catching up to do. Only 69 pages eh?
