Stormtroopers Painting started and...... I love these premium Bases!!!!

Started work on the Stormtroopers. I painted the bases separately to the troopers. Steps so far;

BASES

Black Undercoat

Drybrush bases with mix of Macragge blue and Abaddon Black in a 40/60 mix

Adding in more Macragge blue I drybrush again but concentrating towards the front to give the impression of light hitting the floor in front of the trooper.

Final drybrush adds in Ivory in a 50/50 mix to the base colour concentrating on a smaller area towards the front to add again more light in front of the trooper.

Painted all details I wanted Metal with a 50/50 mix of Vallejo German Grey and Leadbelcher

Wash the whole base with Nuln Oil.

Edge highlight the black parts of the base with light grey concentrating on the edges closest to the front of the base. Finish off with a smaller highlight of white.

STORMTROOPERS

Sprayed the models with Grey Seer. Created a zenith highlight by spraying the model from above with short sharp sprays of Tamiya White primer.

Bodysuit, Holsters, Backpack and black details painted with Black Templar Contrast.

Shaded selectively in the recesses and areas I wanted to have more contrast and appear darker with Apothecary White Contrast. I was selective with this as I had originally painted some Clone Troopers with Grey Seer followed by Apothecary White and it was far too grey so a different approach was taken with the Stormtroopers which I will replicate for any further Clones 😀

Guns have been painted with a 50/50 mix of Leadbelcher and Vallejo German Grey then Nuln Oil washed.

That’s as far as I have gotten at the moment. More updates hopefully this weekend as I push to complete the Rebellion Era models before I start to finish the Clone Wars models.
