So, a big pile of sprues. Many ideas over the years and shelves of collecting.
I’ve been carried through and inspired by many fellow Hobbyists over the years. I would need a page and half to mention them all, but hopefully can recall a few along the way.

I’m feeling a lost and the Damned nostalgia… a little Armageddon Codex or maybe some Eye of Terror.. or BOTH!?

Great kits to get from GW to make such things?
– Plastic Catachans [used to be in a box of 20]
* Shoulders are wider than the plastic Marauders, with same overall thickness as Chaos Marauder Horsemen
* Weapons are VERY heroic scale, as are the grenades and accessories.
* Very limited selection of parts compared to modern sprues.

– Plastic Chaos Marauders [20 in a box! Wow!*]
* Arms are VERY large (They’d make Schwarzenegger blush!) but the shoulder is not as large and jutting as the Catachan, possible to mix arms with hiding the shoulder joint with a pauldron.
* Excellent choice of arms and weapons, they are scaled LARGER than the Chaos Marauder Horsemen, but mix well.
* Limited choice of heads but great variety in parts to mix and match.

– Plastic Chaos Marauder Horsemen [10 per box]
* Nicely scaled weapons and accessories
* Torso’s are designed to have one arm as a shield holder, so some conversion work is required here.
* Excellent choice of heads, easily matched with Catachans and regular Marauders.
* lots of Chaos spikey bits, if you don’t want to use these will require some knife work.

* Troop boxes should all be this way!
