When I first assembled the miniatures from the first boxed set I wasn’t into “fancy basing” techniques.  Mostly I just stuck with some textured sand and a few tufts of grass but that was it.

Since then I have started exploring other techniques to spruce up and differentiate my forces.  For the Stormcast Eternals this included destroying the existing bases (lots of sawing, clipping and filing…thanks plastic glue!), some green stuff modelling putty and the Green Stuff World Temple textured roller.

Gerry was helpful and made a nice video of how to use this stuff: https://www.beastsofwar.com/featured/rolling-pins-cutters/

Once applied to the new bases I went ahead and used a 50-50 mixture of Citadel Celestra Grey and Citadel Mechanicus Standard Grey as a basecoat.  Following multiple coats of that mixture drying I applied a wash of a 1-1-1 mixture of Citadel Lahmian Medium, Citadel Nuln Oil and water.

Next up I will probably drybrush these with the base mixture and some lighter mixtures but I am debating on how to do this and may use the series D brushes from Artis Opus.
