Wilco’s Hobby Space

Built a frame around the room using the desks height as a base. due to how fare I am having the desk from the wall so I can get a bigger surface to work on I needed to strengthen it by applying strips of wood on to the desk overhang to the back.

Framed the surface with wood to keep it look neat and level. was trying so hard to use as few screws and nails on the work surface to it would look so clean and free of imperfections. very happy with the result.

Put out some paints and my hobby mat so I can get some projects started but this is only the start. only a coupe of days till my Birthday so I hope as per my wish lift I will hopefully of got some of the modular components I need to start building my hobby space up with.

“The Compromise” In the negotiation of using this room for my hobby the misses said that as long as I make her a custom DVD shelves for her collection in the room I could use the rest of the room as I wish so I better build this bit for her first.

I went to my local paint shop and picked up a can of a colour called Pool Gray to paint the walls and it look so sweet.

First job is to get rid of that bright orange wall. hopefully the paint I got is strong enough to cover it.

After 2 cotes I think the orange is been defeated, yet after deciding to paint all four walls to keep them all the same I think it needs some colour. I wasn’t planning to paint colour but I feel it needs something. Sorry that this is becoming more of a decoration blog than a hobby blog but we will get to that soon I hope.

Firstly I need to clear the room so I can start building my new paint and hobby station.

Mats are one of them things that are not the easiest thing to store properly or efficiently. With me I just wanted then to look smart and not messy so I decided to get some nice hooks and have them all hanging up, this dose limit me to how may I can have FOR NOW.
