About the Project

I bought the Warcry starter box when it first came out. It sat under my desk gathering dust as I had no one to play the game with during lockdown. When news of a second starter box dropped I decided it was time to put brush to plastic and get it done

The stonework on the terrain was all primed with a blue green spray can. Then a heavy cream drybrush was applied over all of the stonework.
The wooden parts are all painted using Gore-Grunta Contrast paint and a wash of Agrax. Then dry brushed with cream to pick out highlights

Head was painted gold and then a liberal coating of Nihilakh Oxide was applied. Before it dried I took a cloth and rubbed the excess off the high points leaving it in the recesses. It then received a heavy drybrush of the original gold color followed by a light silver drybrush on the high points

Moss effects were added to the bottom of walls and stairs this was done using Army painter green flock applied with PVA glue. Additional mould and mildew was added by using Vallejo weathering effect slimey grime. Grass tufts were then added around the base and on top of walls.

Final finishing touches were added using GW blood for the blood god for some necessary gore.

Untamed beasts were all painted using GW contrast paints. The mix of textures on the minis made the perfect for my speed painting technique of contrast and white ink.

All received a zenithal prime followed by base coats applied using contrast. The transparency of contrast paint allowed the zenithal prime to show through automatically creating shadows and highlights.

Additional highlights were added by mixing white FW ink with the original base contrast paints.
The metals were all done with Vallejo Metal color

bases were painted and grass tufts added, they then received a snow covering with Vallejo weathering effect snow
