Puppets War’s Light Bikes Prepare to Hit the Road

Puppets War have put up some new preview images on their Facebook for an upcoming squadron of light motorbikes. It'll take more than a speed camera to get these things to slow down.
These bikes could easily suit a Space Marine army, although I think that they are rather less bulky than the bikes used by the Astartes. Possibly these could make a good alternative for a unit of Imperial Rough Riders.
How do you think these are shaping up? Will you pick up some of these when they hit the road?
Definitely bikes ‘n’ bodies for Rough Riders’ especially with the lance on the front of them. Looking good! It would certainly save you from having to shell lout loads to convert boxes of space marine scout bikes up for them! I do have a special catachan sergeant on a scout bike, which took some converting with the boots of the scout to make it look right. Cadian bodies would look too small on marine scout legs, so I got away with it with my model. But with these bikes, it looks like you just need a few bits of Guard… Read more »
I’m sorry but the lance on it is just silly.
Yeah mounting the lance to the bike is not going to end well, at best it just helps you crash into something at worst it gets stuck in something and stops the bike suddenly resulting in the vigorous dismounting of the rider (see: “faceplant” on youtube for more info) and that’s if you assume its not meant for 40k, if you account for how the hunting lance works by exploding, it just gets worse…
It seems the headless horseman has some competition.
All joking aside they look a bit sleaker than bikes used buy marines.
Ah, damn, I saw ‘light bikes’ in the twitter feed and was expecting something Tron-inspired… I actually like the huge marine bikes (early exposure to 2000AD will do that to a person), but it’s nice to see some, well, human-sized ones. Shame that, as everyone has said, sticking a pole on the front makes them much less maneuverable, but still, the basic bike is good.

Thanks for the tip, those are pretty cool. I hadn’t looked at the Yu-Jing bikes before. I am (supposed to be) collecting Haqqislam and I like the Kum motorised infantry too, there’s a kind of ridiculously daredevil vibe to them, I guess because they’re basically always doing a wheelie.
That’s just about what they are like in the game too. They are irregular troops so they don’t contribute to the order pool. My buddy has used the pretty well too. I’ve got the aragoto but have yet to use them 🙁 They are really cool looking though!
