All Quiet on the Martian Front Conducts Some Royal Science!

The martian forces of All Quiet on the Martian Front are soon getting the addition of a new character model; the Royal Scientist tripod itself.
The Royal Scientist is slightly more flamboyant than the regular Scientist Tripod, but still maintains the same level of menace and threat that the prospect of being captured by a martian scientist carries.
I love that special character vehicles are being included in the game as it adds a great level of character to an already unique game. The addition of the Royal Scientist is particularly interesting in game terms and it will be interesting to see what it brings to the Martian forces.

Got in on the kickstarter. The rules are suprisingly good and easy to pick up. You very much get a HG wells Jules Verne feel to the fluff. Even the more outlandish units have a degree of truth to them. I never knew before picking this up that the US fielded some prototype steam tanks in WW1. Even the landships are practical as we have built construction equipment that large. In addition there is no effective bombers of the period so they wouldn’t be instantly destroyed. Just checked Alien Dungeons fourm and they have more information about it. Apparently its larger, controls drones and uses viral weaponry.

That scientist tripod is very creepy.
I really like All Quite on the Martian Front. It captures the style of the original novel incrediblty well, while sensibly extending the scenario to a second invasion and growing the arsenals goth of humanity and the martians in both imaginative and yet still consistent ways.
This Royal Tripod sounds like it is something I will want to add to my collection – the Heat Ray Saw sounds suitably nasty, and viral weaponry just seems so appropriate as part of the Martian arsenal, given their own experiences with the lethality of naturally occuring microbes paired with their ruthless and emotionless intellects.
